Good prices, very nice plants, big selection. Plants, decor, water features etc are all very fairly priced. The plant selection was expansive and beautiful. They have a whole greenhouse just for roses there. Pretty much any tree, houseplant, or garden/yard plant (including fruit like raspberries) you can think of. Plus numerous decorations like birdhouses, wind chimes, bird baths, lawn gnomes, etc. There are also plenty of interior decorations inside the building. There are supplements like caging for keeping saplings and plants upright, different types of soil and mulch, gardening tools, and more. One stop shop for pretty much anything plant related.

Just a great variety of plants and trees that are all very well labeled and clearly priced. Pricing is a little high but as the old saying goes you get what you oay for and in this case very healthy, good looking trees and plants. Their indoor store is very cool too!

Whenever I have a question about what to plant and where, the staff has been very good to find out the answer for me, even if they do not have the answer themselves. Sun River stands behind their plants and other products. They make garden shopping an experience not just another trip to by flowers. Sun River Gardens is even fun for the kids. My grandson was stomping on a puddle that was left over from watering. He was so disappointed when the puddle was gone. One of the fun staff there turned the water on and made him a new puddle! That just made his day and mine! LOVE*LOVE*LOVE

We just moved to Utah County from South Eastern Utah where I would drive an hour and a half into Cortez, Colorado to find my favorite nurseries. Now that they are 5+ hours away, I needed a new happy place. I was so grateful to find Sun River Gardens! It has a beautiful shop with home decor, and wonderful displays of carefully arranged plant combinations (excellent designs - kudos to those responsible). I especially love it when there is beautiful music playing as I walk up and down each row and explore each horticulture scenario they have set up. I just love the atmosphere! I have been there multiple times in the last couple weeks, and each time friendly ladies have been there to help me. My husband and I just bought 7 beautiful trees to start building our new landscape. I am so excited about each one, but mostly the stately red oak tree that I saw and couldn't get out of my mind from my first visit. I was hesitant to buy it at first because it's such an investment, and I was worried that it might not survive. My apprehension turned to excitement when I found out that they offer a 5 year warranty on trees if you follow their planting guide (specific root stimulator, compost, and organic fertilizer - a sound practice in my view). I don't foresee any problems with these healthy looking trees, but with this guarantee in place, we can enjoy them without worry. I recommend Sun River Gardens to anyone who appreciates a relaxing atmosphere, beautiful arrangements, and peace of mind in purchases. In fact, we are headed over again this morning because that gorgeous Snow Fountains Weeping Cherry tree is calling to me . . . let's hope it's still there.

I had such a BIZARRE experience with this store today. After purchasing some soil and having their employees put their soil in my truck, the owner of the establishment came out and started interrogating me about whether or not I purchased the soil. She wasn't kindly asking me to show proof of purchase, she was already accusing me of stealing them. When I showed my receipts to her demonstrating that I had just purchased them, she said I "looked like" someone that had just stolen a bunch of soil. She accused me of being a THIEF because I might look like someone that did. DO NOT SHOP AT THIS STORE, especially if you're a white male, because you may be defamed as a thief for simply wanting to purchase their products. And to the store owner, if you're so sure I committed a criminal act at your store, then CALL THE COPS! They'll get to the bottom of it and show how incredibly rude and stupid you are for treating your customers this way. For anyone else looking for a good nursery, go to Cook's Farm & Greenhouse just down the street. They still know how to run a professional and courteous establishment. Everyone else, BUYER BEWARE!

Big variety of plants and decorations. The plants are at a good price but nothing else is. It's like an "indie" gift shop, so they play on that; if you assume everything is supporting the local economy, then maybe it's worth $70 for an open glass succulent terrarium (it's not), but the real catch here is the variety of plants. They seem well taken care of. It's a cute place and a must-stop if you're in the area and like that sort of thing.

I would live at Sun River Gardens if it were possible. Just set up a hammock and give me some lemonade and I would be the happiest human alive. This is the best greenhouse and garden center in Utah county. They have an amazing selection, superb service, the cutest arrangement bar and the most adorable house goods to boot! Sun River Gardens was way too expensive for what we got out of it. We met with an event planner a month before the reception but when the day came, she didn't remember anything we talked about and wasn't helpful at all. They had 3 event planners at our event, all of whom stayed in the back room and didn't come out to offer any kind of help during the event. We were constantly going back to them to ask for microphones, music, etc. On top of that, one of the planners brought her children and ALL of them ate our food (which we got charged for!) and didn't clean up after themselves at all. They didn't hide any price tags or store signage for our event which looked super tacky and the room was hot. We were told there would be AC on during our event, but there was no such thing. None of the guests noticed the problems, nor did the bride and groom, but for the people who had to work with them, it was awful. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Too expensive and unprofessional. ** Since posting my original review, I'm happy to say that the owner of Sun River Gardens, John Engh, contacted me and let me know how seriously he was taking my concerns. He's been really great with working with us since then, has conducted himself in a professional manner, and told me the steps he's taken within their event management team to improve. **

This is an awesome nursery and garden. It's mostly outdoor plants, outdoor decorations, and gardening supplies, but they also have some indoor plants, too. The people are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. These people know more about plants than anybody I know. The ambiance is great, too. Sun River Gardens is not your run-of-the-mill nursery. They are the only one I know of that supplies the range of exotic plant life and personal comfort space furnishings. The only things missing are lighting and music, if that is what they are aiming for. The plants are top quality and tenderly cared for. Great advice and paid classes are available. Although their plants and pots are beautiful, they tend to die quickly no matter how well you care for them. Everything is a bit pricey, but it's a treat to just walk around the nursery. My fig plant had mealy bugs. It makes me so sad because I love it so much, and I love this place so much! I've been trying to treat it for a few months but it just isn't working. My mom bought a string of pearls at the same time from here and it also has mealy bugs. I will still support this business, but I will never buy plants here again. So disappointed.

This place almost always has what you're looking for with staff that are very friendly and helpful. The ambiance of the entire Nursery is really nice, clean, and open. The only issue is that things are a bit overpriced here. However, personally, I am willing to pay a bit more for a nice location and helpful personnel.

A person complains, perhaps over a misunderstanding, perhaps over truly bad service and says "Don't shop at this store"! Maybe the employee was wrong and overly aggressive. Maybe the guy was actually 'stealing' the product or appeared to be doing so. Maybe the truth was somewhere in between.The point is, anyone can say anything on the internet without proof. Others read it and remember it and you can't un-ring a bell. It stinks. Please people, consider the 'golden rule', give others the benefit of a doubt. Work it out with them, face to face, one on one. Don't 'whine' on the internet. If the situation were reversed, the 'customer' would be suing for slander (the retailer never post these complaints about the customer). The hours say they're open until 7pm. I got to the doors at 6:40pm and an employee opened the doors to tell me that they closed at 6:30 and couldn't let me in. Just a heads up that the hours online are not true to store hours. It was pretty disappointing after driving half an hour to get there. -----EDIT----- There was a wedding that night! But I was still turned away at the doors at 6:40pm. The employee working told me that the store closed early for the wedding and I was frustrated that wasn't notated online. It now appears it was just a lazy employee who wanted to close the registers early rather than an oversight by the store in general. I get that stuff like this happens, but I do wish you would have looked into the situation rather than dismissing me in your response.

This nursery has a good selection of indoor and outdoor plants. You can create succulent arrangements and the employees will help you do i or even do it for you. There are some good little knickknacks available to purchase inside or if you are into creating fairy gardens this place has a great selection. The plants can be a bit more expensive to purchase than at other nurseries and they do not guarantee their plants so it is you buy it and hope for the best. If they were to change their policy on this I would add another start, as we have a lost a few plants shortly after planting and hated having to spend more money to replace them. We ended up going to another nursery close by to get the same plants but had a guarantee and oddly, these ones have survived without issues.

My sisters and I have shopped here often and spent a lot of money. We will not be doing so in the future. The plants are lovely. Unfortunately, those running the store were not.

The quality of the flowers and plants at this store are the best I have found in the state. The staff are really great, thorough and informed. It is now the only place I get my plants. The chain stores might be a dollar cheaper, but the quality you get at Sun River is worth way more that that one dollar saved. Honestly, it is the best!

Plants are great but customer service isn’t..I’m new to gardening and I was hoping someone could help me. While I was there no one greeted me or asked if I needed help the whole hour and a half I was there. it would have been nice to get help deciding what plants where best but instead i had to google every plant to figure out on my own..very disappointed

Sun River Gardens is probably the most beautiful nursery in the valley. Anytime, I need a hard to find plant I go to Sun River. One of my Carol Mackie Daphnes died this year and I needed a replacement, Sun River was the only nursery carrying them in the Provo/Orem area. I just wish Sun River was a little closer.

Purchased 20+ trees from Sunriver because of the 5-year warranty. Two of our trees died within the first year and Sunriver has found numerous loop holes in the warranty so they don’t have to replace the trees. They’ve lost our business.

This place is amazing! I get totally lost in this nursery just by looking at plants, flowers, decor. Time for me stop when I go there. I wish I could spend a whole half day there! It is beautiful. Lots of plants, great selection. Prices are on the high end, but it is worthy if you are looking for a special plant that you won't see often in your neighborhood! Love it

I like the variety they have here and that they will pot the plant for you, whether it's a pot you bought there or brought yourself. The staff are nice and some of them know what they're talking about. Their plants don't always seem to be the healthiest, however. I went there about a month ago with a friend and got some new plants. Turns out some of the soil in the plants I bought had fungus gnats in it. I didn't have any of those flying around before, so that's how I know it came from Sun River Gardens. I also had another plant that started growing mold on the top of the soil just a couple of days after I got it, even though I was only watering it when the soil got dry. I like this place okay, but I would highly recommend Cactus and Tropicals in Draper (a bit farther than this place if you live in Utah Valley, but worth it).

Outstanding customer service, very nice trees, bushes, etc., and competitive prices. This spring we wanted to improve the landscaping on our home we just recently bought. I contacted all the major nurseries in Utah County and either got lip service (no follow-through) or a poor selection of items ... all except at Sun River Gardens. I primarily dealt with Alex, who was outstanding, but also found all the other employees equally as friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We didn't know what we wanted/needed so Alex recommended a couple different landscape designers. Ginger Belnap, Meadow Brook Design, did a great job helping us select what we wanted and then designed everything for us - which we then took to Sun River to order everything we needed (nearly a hundred items). Simply put, it was a great experience working with them and I will continue to shop at Sun River because of the great customer service.

Tons of plants and decor! I always seem to be able find something unique. The prices are a little higher than big box stores, but the selection and atmosphere make it worth the extra cost.

Employees are incompetent and return policy is a total joke. We tried to return a flag that wasn’t sewn evenly and they would only give in store credit. Said we had to return within 24 hours. It’s not a plant, it’s a flag! We called before hand because we drove all the way from Salt Lake just to exchange for properly sewn flag. They said they had 3 to choose from. We got down there and they said they never had 3 and they must have been looking at the wrong stack of flags. The least they could have done was provide a refund.

I love fairy gardens and decided to start one myself, so my husband and I went in and picked some beautiful plants out from their wonderful selections, and the workers that helped us get started were more than helpful, and had such great attitudes. I enjoy visiting a good locally owned nursery and the best in my area is Sunriver Gardens in Orem, Utah. There is a friendly helpful staff, including the owner Scott and a large inventory of a wonderful variety of plants. They plant several thousand roses in containers in February and they are nice large blooming plants by May. They have a great selection of annuals, perennials, shrubs and trees. They also have an extensive selection of house plants including cactus, succulents, orchids, and more. If you live in the Utah county area and love plants it is worth a visit.

I was embarrassed to admit that two trees I had purchased had died in my care, but the staff were friendly and the owner was exceptionally helpful and kind. The two trees were replaced, I was given tips about my soil and drainage, and I fully expect success this time around. I would give six stars if I could.

This is overall a really nice nursery. It's on the smaller side but everything is organized and healthy looking. The staff is friendly and helpful too. I knocked a star because I feel their prices are a bit too inflated. I'll go back but only for the hard to find plants that others don't carry.

They have great sales from time to time and if you take advantage of those sales, you can walk away with a lot of plants for a reasonable price. Oh, and they deliver to the local area for only $25. That is INCREDIBLE.

They had so many nice ones to chose from! After I picked the one I liked, I asked another lady what I needed to keep it alive. I fully expected her to try and sell me lots of stuff, because that is what all retail places do. But she didn't. It was so nice to not be pressured to spend lots of money on stuff!! She was so nice and helpful and told me what I needed to do to keep my plant alive. If I can manage to keep my beautiful plant alive for a bit, I will for sure be going back for more. I feel like this is a place as a new gardener I can come and get my questions answered.

My wife loves to go to this place. We have purchased herbs, roses, and other ground coverings to plant in front of our house. We also picked up some very nice wind chimes. They have plants and other yard decorations.
