At the moment this firm receives a rating of 4.4 stars out of 5 and this rating has been calculated on 80 reviews.
You may have noticed that it reaches an opinions average is really good, and it's founded on a very high number of reviews, so we can conclude that the score is very faithful. If many people have bothered to value when they are satisfied, it works.
You know that we don't usually stop to write tatings when these are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Gardener is classified in the category of Garden center.
My favorite place to go for nursery needs. Great selection of trees and unique offerings that you won't find elsewhere.
Excellent inventory and knowledgeable staff.
The best plant section in town. Don't even bother going anywhere else! I love my new cactus and snake plants. Very good quality!
There was just one time where they were not all that helpful, but I gave them a second chance. That turned out to be the right choice. They have been wonderful ever since. They even identified some rhododendron damage as merely winter caused and not pest related; saving me money and stress. And every plant I have purchased from them is going strong. Great selection and I love the set up. Give them a chance !
Awesome selection, Friendly and helpful staff... a bit pricey (but what isn't anymore)... might be out new, favorite Nursery
They are always courteous and helpful I've been going to them for 20 years and I wouldn't go anywhere else......
Lots of pretty plants & pottery.
Great place, with a great selection!
Great selection of plants but since they do not guarantee their plants like the big box stores and some other nurseries I will only buy what I cannot find elsewhere
Awesome plants election. staff is great friendly and knows their stuff prices are reasonable and the atmosphere feels homey
Really great greenhouse and nursery. Excellent plants, knowledgeable staff. Gorgeous place!
This nursery has a wide range of plants, seeds, tools, pots, and other garden essentials. Staff was helpful.
As always a great experience. I found what I came for and then some. Its nice to see a locally owned nursery with great selection of new and well maintained plants with a staff that is knowledgeable and very courteous.
I work there so my review is biased but South Pleasantburg Nursery is the Upstate's best!
This nursery has a good selection of plants, but after shopping at other nurseries in the area I'venoticed their prices are really high. They do have hundreds of styles of planters and pots, so we mostly just come by for these only now. The greenhouse in the back is my favorite area to browse, as they have succulents and carnivorous plants as well as bonsai trees. The main reason I give this place 3 stars instead of 5 is the staff. As others have mentioned they seemed very arrogant or something, as the ladies that worked there were very short and extremely rude to us. The gentlemen that work there are pleasant, however. We will be back, but we know who to avoid next time. If we continue to receive such rude service I'll update my review and seek a new nursery.
Great selection
One of my favorite places to go for gardening supplies, great service and uplifting spirits. So many beautiful, enchanting items! ❤
Thank you for your continued knowledgeable service. We are glad that you are located in our neck of the woods. Keep up the good work!
Dave is always helpful to me!
Excellent service and tons of plants!
No one offered us any help let of the plants looked half dead looking, but their fountain and water plants were nicely done
Lovely pottery and great plants!
Went there Saturday to pick up some new shrubs for the front of my home, after my cherry laurels died. I had a few ideas, but wasn't sure what would be best for my full-sun-all-day southern exposure yard. Staff answered all my questions and helped me arrive at a decision that was friendly to both my landscaping and my pocketbook. They also provided information on how to plant their container-grown plants to ensure success. Their selection is amazing, their grounds are beautiful and I will definitely be returning to this local business for future gardening needs.
Some things are pricy but others are fair. It's a hit or miss depending on what your gardening needs are, but if it grows and is legal they sell it. Hands down first pick when shopping for flowers. Their plants are quality and the employees are plesant and very helpful.
My wife and I visited here Saturday. I could say a lot about this business....but three words can sum up our experience....UNFRIENDLY, RUDE, and CONDESCENDING.
Just went there yesterday. It took me a long time to decide to go because of so many poor reviews. Maybe I was just lucky but I was very nicely surprised. Got a lot of help and advise, even been told to take my time, to do it little by little to not regret it. Very nice people!
This location has a fairly good selection but finding something was a little difficult and finding staff for help was almost impossible. The actual recommendation was not beneficial and they actual said I don't know what would work for you and you just need to try to see if it works, meaning they don't know if a plant can handle morning sun, that seems fairly basic.
My wife and I have just purchased our first house, we are novices in the garden and needed some help. The South Pleasantburg Nursery is very close to our house, but we will not be returning. We did visit and purchase a lot of items on three separate occasions and I am always willing to give a business second chances, but we consistently went away feeling like there was a major lack of customer service. The staff just seemed to be over worked and stressed. We felt like we were annoying them if we asked a question. Sorry guys there are too many places in town to endure a return trip.
I love this place!! Beautiful is an understatement!! House and garden plants, gorgeous, unique ornamental items and the most beautiful Koi fish I've seen. Just walking through is a festival to the eyes.
Wow. Other people have gotten the same vibe I have as a customer there too! I visited today and even asked for an application against my own judgement. In the past there has always been a sense of arrogance there. Needless to say I won't be submitting the application nor returning as a paying customer. Too many other sources that value peoples business and hard earned money!
I went earlier to country boys to get plants off woodruff road and left because staff was rude. I decided to leave and come to this nursery and glad I did. I am a novice when it comes to planting a garden. Staff was very helpful and patient. One of their staff members was with my husband and I for an hour helping us figure out what plants were the easiest to keep and grow back every year. Great selection and they have been at that location for over 50 years...
Love South Pleasantburg! It's like walking through a park.
They have a great selection and the property is very pleasant to walk thru. The staff is a little standoffish and seems to be a bit annoyed by my questions however it's difficult to find the quality and locality...
Great place! All kinds of plants and gardening needs! Friendly staff. Nice place to just walk around. But it is a business, so buy something too!
Top notch garden. Fantastic selection of plants. Like how plants are divided up depending on type and use. Very helpful.
Awesome place a bit of everything!
Very nice. Different plants good prices..lots of waterfountains
Beautiful place!!
Easily the rudest employees in town. Never get another dime from me.
Ignore all the bad reviews. This place is great and has always been helpful. Some people just love to leave bad reviews. I've been going there for probably 15 years and never had a bad experience.
Family Friendly Nursery. I have grown up here and love it. The employees try to be helpful (remember kindness is returned with Kindess). It is a family run business and I have seen the good and hard times. Love how over the years they have helped organizations, churches, widows, etc with various plants and services. It was fun going at Christmas time to pick out our own Christmas tree and now taking my child to carry on the tradition. I much rather support a family run place then a big box store. The grounds and pond are great to look at and fun exploring.
I used to think as some of these reviewers my first few times that I visited starting back in 2007, the business does have this sort of Southern pretentiousness, but once I found Nikki Weed, their resident Landscape Consultant, all that changed. She’s quick to make useful suggestions and has been invaluable in helping me create my rock garden (you see, I’m just starting to learn gardening, so very fearful of buying the plants then letting them die in the pots that I bought them in, which has been norm for me) but Nikki is taking me slowly through this, having me buy 1 succulent a week and planting it, and I can handle that, so my rock garden is finally coming along. And, being a Yankee, I’ve found that maybe I have mistaken their reserved Southern behavior for being standoffish. I know that, on the rare occasions that Nikki has not been available, other team members who seem to be mostly locals, were quick to share their knowledge when asked, helping me to learn a little bit more about my garden and what plants I have. And I love the selection of plants and products. Always fresh. So my review is, especially for a novice, they might appear to be a bit standoffish, but are quick to offer advice or help if you just ask. So just ask.
Excellent as always.
Nice store to look around and shop somewhere else. Price is at least double then other places.
I went there looking for a Trumpet vine. They had 2 small ones priced at $19.99 each. One was about dead with no greenery and they other had about two scraggly branches. I asked if they would be willing to mark down the scraggly one. They rudely said no, the price was firm. I went to Martin's and found that they had at least a half dozen of the Trumpet vine (same size pot) for $12.99 and the plants were full and beautiful. I'm so happy I found Martin's. I passed the word onto my friends who had been frequent shoppers of South Pleasantburg Nursery. Not anymore!
Great plant selection and knowledgeable staff willing to help.
This is a wonderful place to shop they have everything that you need and a beautiful selection of everything including Japanese maples trees bushes flowers and anything else you need for your plantings and flower arrangements. They have wind chimes borders and much much more to choose from
One of two best nurseries in town...knowlegeable and very helpful staff.
Very nice folks here. A little bit expensive but one of the only places we can find with lots of coy fish to choose from so can't really compare prices on those. The trees are healthy and well maintained and these are a little higher priced but sometimes you get what you pay for!
Great selection of very healthy trees and ornamentals. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. Great prices, too.
Every time I come here they look irritated and don’t want to be bothered. The plants are expensive compared to local nurseries. I think I will be taking my business elsewhere.
First off I have to say this is the prettiest nursery around, and I've been to many. Other then that I have nothing else good to say. I spent a good two hours walking around since it is so attractive but in that time not one person offered to help me find what I was looking for, and mind you I was the only one there at the time. When I finally found what I wanted and went inside to talk to someone, the 3 people at the counter barely looked at me and when I decided just to speak up and ask about the tree they acted bothered by my being there. Oh, and their response when I asked on the price of a 4' dogwood tree? "It's probably $80." What? Probably? $80? (Ya, ok, same tree in every other nursery is around $15-$20). Since I'm looking for more then a pretty store, I'll just stick with Easley Nursery or Twin Bridge Nursery from now on, where they have a great selection and a helpful and knowledgeable staff.. and by the way, I never write reviews..
Great selection with fair prices. Staff was friendly and helpful except the guy at the checkout which I deducted one star for.
It is by far the best nursery around. Full disclosure, I work there, but I've been in the nursery industry for 26 years including in other markets. SPN is awesome
