I recently bought a new house, and decided to start a hardscaping project on my own. Being a novice, with very little idea of what I am doing, I quickly found myself overwhelmed. The Staff at Rock Solid, took the time to let me explain my project and ideas and then walked me through their products and most importantly, how to install them. They seemed more interested in me getting my project correct, than selling me a product. This was very much appreciated, and something you don’t find often in businesses these days.

We realize spring is very busy time of the year for landscapers. We are busy people as well which is why we contacted you to do landscape design and installation. The initial meeting was great and after spending more than an hour with us I think we were fairly clear what we were looking for priority wise and we felt good that we had finally found someone who would actually be on top of things for us. However, not showing up for a scheduled appointment to review plans does not exactly encourage us to spend several to tens of thousands of dollars with your company. After being a contractor myself and doing well by focusing on the customer it is very unfortunate that this is the sort of thing we have come to expect from "contractors" in Lexington.

Rock Solid transformed my back yard from an unusable sloping mess to a work of art. Todd came out we discussed the vision. It was an amazing feat of engineering that created a beautiful stone patio with a calming water feature that we surrounded with flowers. They also placed lighting in just the right places to light it to perfection at night. We have enjoyed many nights with a fire and a drink relaxing while the water gently flows in the stone waterfall.

I could have gone elsewhere for same product at a little less expensive cost however, I chose to give my business to Rock Solid based on my experience with their courteous and honest staff. I told them about my project and what I thought I needed to complete it. Their knowledge and recommendations about the product was solid. I over estimated the amount of material I needed and they were upfront and honest about how much material I really needed. Anyone else would have closed the deal and charged me an extra $900. Not these guys, it refreshing in today’s world to do business with honest folks! Thanks again...

My son finished his Eagle Project this past weekend, building a garden at the Lexington County Museum. About a week ago, we went to Rock Solid Hardscape to look at different rocks to use as a border for the garden. They have a great selection to choose from. We are so grateful and want to say Thank You to Todd for donating the rocks. It was greatly appreciated. The staff is very knowledgeable and super friendly in person and on the phone. My father used this company to renovate his backyard. I watched the most easy-going man I know turn red with frustration for weeks in a row due to this company. Horrible craftsmanship - there were too many mistakes to even list on here. But the worst part about it all is the manager, Todd. He assured my dad over and over "Oh the guys will be out there to fix it on Monday". My dad had to lock up our large dog several weeks in a row in order for the landscape guys to work on the yard - only for them to NEVER SHOW UP FOR WEEKS IN A ROW. A job that we were told would take about a week or so was drawn out into a 2 month process of lies and constant mistakes that they were forced to redo. Mind you we were not expecting perfection whatsoever... but how does a landscape company not even know how to cover up the weed barrier underneath the rocks..? The black weed barrier was sticking out everywhere, and after weeks of not showing up, when they finally did, they put in completely different rocks over top of the weed barrier. You can imagine how horrible it looked having tiny rocks then random piles of rocks 3 times the size of the others. That is just one of MANY mistakes that had to be corrected. It honestly was shocking how terrible this company is. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.

This review is long overdue. We had Rock Solid come out about 2 years ago to make a rock patio where a deck and fence use to be. Since that time we have added a screened porch over some of the patio area. It was not an easy project as there was a substantial slope from some backyard steps up to our pool to our house door. They did an incredible job. When it rains there is no puddling anywhere. I was afraid there might be since they had to pretty much rework the backyard. We are still so happy with it. Every time I go outside I am so thankful for our patio and the great work they did. I pray an extra special blessing for them. Thank you, Todd, for not giving up on a project that would have caused some to run away.

Special would describe this. Here is how it went down... -Quoted $2.95/sq ft for pavers. -Called by Rock Solid next day stating the price was actually $3.95/ sq ft. -Paid in full over the phone same call with CC. ---Promised 4 day to 1 week delivery. - two weeks later I haven't even received a phone call. - I called them and they promised it within a few days. - another week goes by where I call them almost every day. -finally they tell me it should be in on Friday(this is now past 3 weeks). Then they couldn't commit to delivering it the same day that they received it . Which they actually did end up doing. Luckily their driver had an open schedule when the material showed up. - I decided that I would like an additional 25 ft.² with a paver stones after I installed the originals that I had ordered. - unfortunately the price is now $5.95 per square foot! (4 days after I got my order) - I left without buying the stones I needed due to the discrepancy in the price. They called no more than 20 minutes later and told me they would honor my original price of $3.95. No apologies, no discounts, no rush service, no customer service, and I will not be going back there to buy a single product ever again and neither will anybody that I personally know. Best part was that the owner was there when I went back to get my stones (again) And he didn't bother to apologize for the terrible experience or delayed delivery or price gouging. Granted, I only spent $1600. But you'd think they would try a little. Especially with so much competition locally.
