CONWAY RESIDENCE : " We used Williams Design Associates for both our initial renovation in 2010 as well as phase two of our renovation in 2015 for a vacation home we purchased in Newport, RI. Edward Williams was a total pro from the start. He understood our vision for the property. He was receptive to the fact that there were major changes needed but we could not do a tear down. At his first walk thru the property we knew that he would be our designer. He explained to us his concept of opening up the space with the deletion of some walls, more windows, new windows and different finishes. He absolutely saw what we saw in the property. the initial design plan he presented to us was probably 99% of the final design plan - I believed we changed a few windows and that was all. He suggested paint colors and finishes - helped me pick out appliances, granite, and tile. His expertise right down to location of electrical sockets, types of recessed lighting, hardwoods floors, stains, etc. was amazing. We ended up essentially qutting the entire interior of the house. Towards the end of the project he helped us choose furniture, artwork, window treatments, etc. to complete the house. In doing all of this he was wonderful to work with. We lived two hours from the project site and we were fortunate that he was in Newport so he gave us constant updates on the progress. He was available when we had questions or concerns and calmed our nerves ad the project progressed. When the house was finished he also played a major part in the landscape / patio portion of the project. A few years later we called him to design the ground level renovation - garage / basement turned into a Guest suite with storage room, media room and bath room additions. Again - an amazing job with design, paint colors, furniture, rug, artwork selection. He always met his deadlines and usually beat them. He worked well with the contractors and sub-contractors and was very attentive to our budget throughout both renovations. When there was a question of whether to do something or not do it (ie - gas fireplace - half bath vs full bath - quest suite closets for example) he would review the pros and cons of the feature with us. I cannot say enough wonderful things about WDA - definitely our highest recommendation. We have nothing but the highest praise for Williams Design Associates. From our first meeting through the completion of our plans, Edward's design expertise was first rate. His easy going temperament, professionalism, and knowledge of all phases of design were invaluable to us. His redesign of our home is both unique and spectacular. Our plans were completed on schedule and were well received by the builder for the extensive detail. We just love our new home. WDA was a pleasure to with with". Newport, RI...
