10/10!!!! Peter and GrandScapes are very knowledgeable, reasonable, and easy to work with. Our new walkway leading up to our house far exceeded expectations.

Brian Nolan

I hired Grandscapes to build my back terrace and front walkway. The multi-layer terrace / patio is an oasis. It completely changed my backyard. The new front walkway is the talk of the neighborhood. The paver with brick inlay design is beautiful. The entire process was seamless. Pete Grandin is clearly a leader in the landscaping field. His knowledge and approach are exceptional. Grandscapes has greatly increased the value of my home. Brian

Over the years our experience with Grandscapes has been terrific. The masonry work, landscaping, plantings and lawn maintenance was all first rate, very professional and done on time.

Great small local business with knowledge and friendly staff. The prices are decent and they have good quality plants, loam, and gravel. They are truly full-service professional landscapers, this is clearly not a big-box operation and it's refreshing.

If you are looking for quality craftsmanship that you don’t have to replace several year later, look no further! I had a new front walk and steps designed and installed recently. All aspects of the project from start to finish was professionally handled. The quality of craftsmanship was excellent as well as their punctuality, job cleanup and follow up. I highly recommend Grandscapes for their high quality sales, management and craftsmanship. Dr Jean Clapp

I have been a satisfied customer of Grandin Landscape for more than 20 years, and I have been delighted with all of the services they have provided. They have been very responsive to all of my needs, I feel their prices they charge are reasonable given the quality of their services . From the regular care of my lawn, to the design of our flower beds and gardens, and the installation of a driveway of pavers, the quality of their work is excellent.

Harold Ward

The tree that was delivered and planted appears to fit the description as ordered. My only dissatisfaction is that I received no advance notice of the time of the delivery, so that I was not at hone to direct the planting location.

Peter and his team are knowledgeable and professional. The initial appointment was kept on time and the quotation arrived as promised. Materials and workmanship were as agreed or better and the warranty is more than reasonable. These days, it is very difficult to complete a project on time and within budget. The folks at Grandscapes checked all the boxes and we would highly recommend them.

Marc Bosnyak

Peter is very dedicated to his customers and the community. He stops by my house on the weekends to take an extra look. His team texts me on a regular basis to check up.

My husband and I have been very satisfied clients of Peter Grandin and Grandscapes since April of 2000 - 18 years of steady additions and improvements to our lot, building on previous installations year by year in both landscape and hardscape features. Their crews do our basic lawn maintenance every summer, and they have, over the years, planted (I think I've lost count how many!) trees for us along our fence lines, including screening evergreens and specimen trees both evergreen and deciduous. In addition they have put in over a 2 dozen smaller shrubs and bushy plants including rhodys, azaleas, viburnums, forsythia, and many whose names I no longer remember. When we had some major remodeling done about 10 years ago, they installed an underground drainage system on our sloping lot to carry rainwater away from the house and distribute it along an underground route, as well as a a privet hedge along our street front that is admired throughout our small town. When we meet new folks and are telling them which is our house it is common for them to say back to us, "Oh, you're the ones with that beautiful privet hedge!" In addition, Grandscapes has supplied bluestone for our fireplace hearth and mantel, a small patio which they installed below a boulder wall (also their installation) bordering a sloping bed and rock garden, and some recent changes to our back deck to add stone footings for a chimenea and a large trellised climbing vine. They concealed our new septic system behind a lovely wall of shrubbery above a boulder retaining wall, and most recently installed a driveway of interlocking, porous pavers which is both beautiful and functional. We have been clients of Pete Grandin's across many years in which both his business and his own knowledge and crew of skilled workers have grown steadily. Their work is impeccable, beautiful, and if not perfect the first time around (a rarity), Pete will always make it right. We recommend them with enthusiasm to anyone seeking well-planned and well-executed lanscaping, hardscaping, and maintenance!

I hired Grandscapes last spring to do quite a bit of work in my yard. At first, they were great, coming to the house to discuss the plans, plants, shrubs, etc. The planting went well until we neared the end of the job, then everything fell apart. There were 12 small plants that were not delivered, 8 small plants and shrubs that were dying, a Hinoki Cypress that was dying, and the "focal point" plant in front of the house never arrived. I called Grandscapes once a week for 3 or 4 weeks and never got through to the owner nor did he return my call. Finally a woman from Grandscapes (I got the impression that she was part of the office staff) and a young helper showed up with some of the missing plants and planted them in no particular order. I called her attention to the other plants and shrubs that were dying and she said she would tell the owner. I began calling again, once a week for a few weeks, and was put through to Chris who clearly had little idea of what to say to me. He told me that due to the drought last spring (I watered the plants faithfully every day or every other day) and the gypsy moth caterpillars, some plants were likely to die. I told Chris that the caterpillars eat the leaves but do not harm the roots of the plants, but Chris was sticking to his story. He said he would come out to prune the Hinoki Cypress (to try to save it) but Grandscapes' work is guaranteed for only 3 months. I did eventually receive reimbursement for 1 plant that was beyond dead. Someone came to the house (I wasn't home) with the "focal point" plant and planted it. It was a plant of which I already have 3 in the yard, am not particularly fond of, and will grow to be a large shrub, thereby blocking the front window. The Cypress was not trimmed, and only one of the shrubs that had died was replaced. After calling Grandscapes numerous times -- again -- I was put through to Chris who again only reiterated his practiced explanation for the dying plants but offered to have the owner get back to me. I knew this wasn't going to happen and told Chris, "thanks, but no thanks." I'm not sure where the business owner/customer relationship broke down, but it certainly did. I'm very disappointed in Grandscapes and would NOT recommend them.

A professional job done in a timely manner.

From start to finish working with GrandScapes has been a great experience. They helped us design an install an incredible patio at our new house. The price was very reasonable and the work top notch. They took their time and made sure every detail was done to perfection. They even graded the lawn afterward and hydro seeded the lawn.

Working with Peter Grandin has been a great experience. We planned what were were going to do, he always arrived on time and brought beautiful plant material. His workers were excellent and the job was finished right on schedule. I would recommend him highly.

I plan on sueing Peter Grandin and his company Grandscapes asap. He is abusive, misleading and manipulative towards his employees. He was unfaithful to his wife this past winter, who is a half owner of the nursery and GS property. She is sueing and divorcing him. The neighbor to GS is also sueing him and the EPA should be investigating the property for water contamination. Out of 7 employee goals/benchmarks set by Pete, not one of them was fulfilled by him. -Despite me completing a crew mentoring class with four others, which lasted nearly four months... Where upon completion, Pete told us all we would be getting raises in the spring. I continuously met my expectations and strived to exceed them. - Receiving consistent gratitude and happy reviews from customers as aresult. Peter Grandin is liar and only cares for himself. I've been in the industry for 13 years. He builds unstable walls and skips standard drainage and stability measures. He will run his company into the ground just like his yacht and sailboat. Daddys money wont solve everything for spoiled rich boys. Others interesed in an Employee class action lawsuit against this crook should be in touch with me.

Efficient and on-time with walks and plantings.

Recently I had Grandscapes install a gravel driveway at our home in Warren. I was having a hard time finding someone who would do the job the way I wanted. About this time my neighbor was having some landscaping done around here house. I asked her what she thought of the company. She said they were great. I contacted them (Grandscapes), they came out gave me an estimate that was very reasonable and within a couple of weeks they finished the driveway. They do great work, they are fast, professional, and friendly. If you are looking for an excellent landscaper,I would gladly recommend them.

Lyndsey Ursillo

I've dealt with numerous landscapers in the past and Grandscapes by far has consistently provided the most satisfaction and professional services at very reasonable costs.

Peter and his crew did an amazing job on the landscape design, for or newly built beach home in Matunuk, Peter listened carefully to all our design ideas, worked with us on a plan encorporating his vision and ours, culminating in a spectacular outcome, we have gotten numerous compliments on the landscaping, people drive buy slowly on a daily basis pointing and comment if we are outside on how beautiful and natural the design looks. They installed our fence, circular shell drive, 30 ft. Stone wall, an outdoor shower, a “wall” of evergreens, river rock and the most gorgeous array of planting’s designed and layed out by Peters himself. The Grandscape crew could not have been nicer or more professional during the 2 months that it took to complete our extensive project! We highily recommend Granscapes for any of your landscaping needs.

This is a Service business, and Grandscapes provides that in the two segments of their business model - Front End & Back Office - both essential for a successful business serving this market! Ciao Hugh

After scheduling with these folks two weeks out for 9:30a appointment on Friday (I had to take the day out of work) to have them come out and give an estimate, they didn't show up to the premises. I waited until 10:30a, called them, received no answer. At 11:30a, I gave up, and called them again; this time someone picked up. I asked if they were planning on coming to my house today, because we had a 9:30a appointment, and no one showed up. She told me she would have someone call me back. She called me back approximately 10 minute later and stated that the person who was supposed to come out (Peter?) was busy so he came earlier. I was up at 8a and no one was here. I also have a surveillance system on my residence (including the roadway in front of my house) and no one came. When I informed the person of this, she *then* stated that they had my address down incorrectly. I was not called and no one showed up. I then informed her, if he couldn't make it, the right thing would be to call and just apologize not to make up a a myriad of excuses. I just requested someone come out today to do the walk - after all it was before noon time. She said that no one was willing to come out and they needed to reschedule me again. Thanks but no thanks...I would rate this business "poor" based on my interactions. I would caution anyone working with Grandscapes in Charlestown, RI to proceed with caution. They have demonstrated a serious pattern of lying. As a side note, consider putting cameras on your residence...

On time, on budget, professional at every point and all around good people! Would highly recommend! As a matter of fact, we are planning our next project as we speak for Grandscapes!

Jonathan Spangler Bean

Superb design and service are Grandscapes' hallmarks. A complex driveway design involving hundreds of hours of careful Belgian block placement and mortaring was executed flawlessly, and on time and within budget. Would happily recommend their services to anyone.

I have worked with Peter Grandin and Grandscapes for the past 15 years. The projects they have done for me have ranged from simple to quite complex and they have all have been done well. Peter is professional and has the unique quality of listening to what his clients want as well as offering suggestions so that the end result is better than you imagined. They are a great company which I know I can count on no matter when or what I need.

Janet Skokowski

Called Grandscapes to do a fall cleanup. I have a massive yard with lots of trees. They came within a week of my call. They arrived and did the job in two consecutive days. It was perfect. Not a leaf in sight and every stick and branch gone. Have since hired them for some landscape and masonry projects for spring.

John Harrington

They have reliable and do great work. They designed our garden.

Very happy w multiple jobs!!! Great quality!

I hired Grandscapes to regrade, compact, and edge my driveway using natural stone for the main material. A front walkway was installed with mixed shade bluestone and a stone veneer wall entrance. The yard was fine graded, then spread with hydroseed. Peter was professional, knowledgeable, and understood my requirements. The masonry is amazing, just beautiful. The landscaping was provided as discussed. The plantings were installed, however much smaller than I anticipated. My only dissatisfaction is a low grade area in the driveway which puddles when it rains. I spoke to Peter about remediation, he said he would come by when it rained, but has not come to date.(11 months)

John Hines

Peter Grandin runs a great company. Design, maintenance, you name it. He has done alot of work at our home, and the past 3 years has been helping me with some designing of another project in which I am involved. The people who work for him are polite, professional and happy to please.
