Phipps is a cultural gem and a must-visit location for anyone who is a Pittsburgh Native or just here on a trip. If you have the chance to go at night, grab a local beer from the cafe, and wonder through the beautiful lighted gardens. It can be busy around the holiday light show, so plan ahead!

Thomas Fitzgerald

Absolutely gorgeous arrangements of flowers and plants from all around the world....amazing showrooms and elegant buildings!!!

Pat Jackson

Beautiful architecture and botanical gardens...what a wonderful place to spend the afternoon..

Sam Jarrett

A massive, impressive, and beautiful collection and display of all varieties of plants. You can get lost and find yourself admiring and gawking at everything from ferns and flowers, to bonsai trees. If you are a nature lover or even have a few hours to spare, please do yourself a favor and come visit.

Jordan Smithson

I have never been, so this visit was my first. It was during a great event and I loved the themed rooms that were exquisitely put together. Each area was independent and charming, it felt as if I was on a trip around the world without jet lag and in the comfort of my own city. The staff was phenomenal, the store was amazingly interesting, and this visit left me wanting to return for more events. I would recommend going to anyone who hasnt already.

Christopher Yeoman

A well thought out series of displays with attentive pleasant staff the grounds are nicely kept and the patio area is incredibly pleasant. Parking can be tricky but even on a game day Saturday we found a space.

Heather Haskie

My absolute most favorite place to go. The Van Gogh exhibit was so beautiful. I cant wait till the Christmas exhibit.

Joshua Morgan

I love this place, absolutely beautiful. It is a great date destination.

John W. Sheldon

A terrific place to visit for people of all ages, the conservatory has a huge botanical collection with plants from many different regions and environments, a butterfly room, small farm, and an ultra Eco-friendly building. The one drawback is the environmental controls: this is a huge greenhouse, so it can be quite warm and humid inside during the summer. Be sure to keep hydrated during your visit!

Jedediah Seltzer

This is one of my favorite things in Pittsburgh. The gardens are well thought out and certein areas have exhibits that change. I also like going year after year and watching some of the plants grow. This is a very peaceful place.

Timothy Moore

Absolutely beautiful. They say you can do it in 90 minutes. We got there with an 1 hour 45 minutes to closing. Could have spent half the day. Must see.

Kodi Mikiewicz

They're exhibits are always extremely beautiful. There's plenty of educational elements tied in, but it's also just lovely to stroll through.

Travis Stormer

Huge, sprawling, beautifully curated and kept gardens both outside and inside the glass-enclosed facility make this a beautiful place to take a walk or spend a day. Individual rooms are themed to specific types of environments, or specific types of gardens. There are plenty of kid-friendly areas and activities to keep the younger set interested and teach them new things. The cafe has delicious, locally sourced food and the gift shop is more like a garden center than a souvenir store. Great place for both visitors and locals.

Vanissa

The Van Gogh in Bloom was so beautiful! The visit to Cuba was great & the butterfly garden was as well. The greenest building on the planet. All the plants & flowers. Educational. Well worth the visit.

Michael Adams

A breathtakingly beautiful experience. Go in the evening on a date with your loved one...you wont regret it. So romantic! We were fortunate enough to see the Van Gogh exhibit which was gorgeous!

Nathan Winning

Amazing gardens with many beautiful plants and exhibits. Butterfly garden had many butterflies happily floating around. Definitely recommended to visit!

Delta Daley

everyone in the Pittsburgh area should come here at least once to experience the beauty of Phipps. It's absolutely stunning and has rotating exhibits and it's always worth the visit. They have a cafe with lots of options, even vegan options ! And there is a gift shop as well. The place is very clean and organized. It does get hot so I'd recommend wearing comfortable clothes for hot weather and wear sunscreen if you are concerned about getting burnt, a lot of the exhibits are outside.

Juan Pablo Bermúdez

Gorgeous place. Lots of information and knowledge for those interested in botany and pants. Lots of paths to freely stroll around for those seeking a peaceful time. I especially loved the cacti and succulents room. They have great specimens!

eric spangenberg

Always green and the flowers are a welcome breathe of fresh air regardless the outdoor weather!

Peggy Durrin

Wow... There's so much to see and so exciting that it would take more than a day to see and enjoy it all, loved it ...

Omar Abbaas

Very beautiful place, however too much focus on hot and humid environments that you actually feel like spending the day in a rain forest. It is exhausting to stay in a so hot place for the entire day. I have been in other botanical gardens, they have multiple environments which both gives the opportunity to see plants from all around the world and doesn’t exhaust you.

Todd Smith

The place is AMAZING. Every season they do a spectacular show. A must see at Christmas time.

Caroline Yeo

A must-see in Pittsburgh P.A. for fantastic horticultural displays and educational events.

Luke Jones

My family recently purchased a membership to Phipps Conservatory and we've visited multiple times since then. Every time we visit, we like Phipps more. The exhibits change about once a month and there are special events at about the same frequency. They really treat their members nicely and my love for nature has never been so nurtured.

Rebecca Haynes

Stunningly gorgeous displays of natural wonders. I love it here

Lacie Chevalier

Very interesting and wide variety of gardens/themed rooms! Neat place to check out! Also really enjoyed the sculptures and glass art! Definitely worth the stop!

Paul Mellin

Amazing plants and flowers collection. And in the summer there is a greenhouse with butterflies, definitely magic !

Abigail Roth

Phipps was a good time. We enjoyed wandering around, obviously the plants are gorgeous. Kids garden was fun, lots of things to play on. There was a wedding going on on one of the sections, and while they blocked most of it off, you could still see into the room so I felt bad for the couple. We were there for two hours, and we didn't see everything, so definitely dedicate a good portion of your day if you want to go to all the rooms! CSL room was really interesting and different.

Candice E

Hot place. It is very beautiful

Simon Lau

Beautiful grounds with some interesting history dotted around the park. Definitely worth a visit

Tina Rivera

Absolutely beautiful. Amazing glass work throughout the conservatory interwoven with a lovely array of flowers. The butterfly room made me feel 7 years old again, hundreds of butterflies all varieties flitting about. Plenty of parking, so much to see and learn, a great gift shop and cafe should make the conservatory a "must-do" on your trip to Pittsburgh. If you're a local and haven't been? What are you waiting for? Highly recommend...

Honest Reviews

Phipps is honestly a very beautiful place to visit. A lot of these poor reviews sound like their only experience was during a holiday show. These events are very busy close to the beginning of the event because everyone has the same idea: go to Phipps. Give the place an honest chance and choose a time less likely to be crowded. It becomes a whole different experience. I'm giving four stars because of how high the price of admission is and how little the employees get paid. Very poor balance.

Megs Bossilla

There's a lot to see. It's like a large maze and easy to miss side rooms or paths. Artistically pleasing.

Han Speekhouf

An awesome place in Pittsburgh. Was a great visit again.

Gary DeFrancesco

Lots to see. Very warm inside. Where shorts and a tank top.

sara salahi

I had a great experience in Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. It absolutely worth your time. You will get refreshed by beautiful plants and flowers. It is really big and a lot to see.

Adam Fogle

Japanese garden show was great! And I love going at night. Best time to do Phipps

Mario Garcia

This is the number one attraction for me in Pittsburgh. Amazing experience. The plants, flowers and set up is 10 stars. I saw some plants that I had not seen since I was a little kid in Honduras. The restaurant was amazing also. Friendly staff and excellent service.

Debbie Proehl

Beautiful, always enjoy your displays. Looking forward to the christmas display!

Deak Tysons

What a special place to visit ( for hours) on an afternoon in April during my first visit to Pittsburgh. If you go take your time wandering through the many rooms. There is a nice restaurant and gift shop. Well worth the trip from downtown .

Jasmine Karnavas

The "Van Gogh in Bloom" event at Phipps was well advertised on local tv and radio and I am so glad I got a chance to experience it. There have been some changes since my last visit 20 years ago! A memorable and truly immersive way to appreciate art works by Vincent Van Gogh. That love of nature found in his paintings, still-life and landscapes can be felt as you stroll thru each room. Van Gogh's acclaimed "Starry Night", "Sunflowers" and "House at Auvers" spring to life, in botanical vignettes.

Ashique Baten

Amazing environment! Lots of different flowers and plants to see. Great place to visit with your family. My favorite part of the tour was the open butterfly gallery. It literally felt like I was inside a living painting. There were various species of Butterflies and Moths inside the room that flew around like colours twinkling in the sky. I would definitely recommend everyone to give it a try...you will definitely fall in love with the environment. *Just a side note... The turtles in the turtle lagoon are shy so they are difficult to spot. I found some frogs though

Renee Workman

The Phipps is a beautiful place to see lots of beautiful plants & flowers! They have events going on throughout the year. I love strolling through all the displays & taking in the sights & scents! There's a green cafe that sells delicious foods that are also healthy. You can also enjoy tea, coffee, wine or beer! There's a nice gift shop which has really nice items to choose from. The staff is friendly & makes you feel welcome!

Marina Hertzog

So much bigger than I expected. Very beautiful place to visit. Can't say the outside was impressive but the inside makes up for it.

Patricia Breen

This was the most beautiful place to go, it was breath taken and so relaxation. Can't wait to go back.

Heather Thomas

A beautiful floral Oasis in the center of the city! Takes about 2 hours to walk the entire Conservatory (a little more if you take lots of photos)! Even with crowds, there is a peaceful energy at Phipps. The staff is amazing and very knowledgeable! They are also helpful if you get turned around between the various rooms. The displays are rotating, so frequent visits are recommended so you don't miss out. The gift shop is stocks with many beautiful items and is competitively priced considering the location. There is a cafe on site which offers freshly made light fare which is perfect for lunch or a snack break.

Mary Kearns

Absolutely LOVE the Phipps. I went to see the Van Gogh exhibit a few weeks ago and it was spectacular. They change out the displays seasonally and there is always so much to see!

Katy Cater

I was at Phipps for a wedding reception. The food was good, every staff member was friendly, and the flowers were beautiful. There were clean bathrooms and the gardens are kid friendly. If I return to the area I would consider visiting again and I would definitely recommend Phipps to others.

Eddie Mash

Beautiful, a must visit. It takes a long time to walk the entirety. Sneek in a drink and wear comfortable shoes. Prepare to take a lot of magnificent photos.

GoldenSparrow

I loved the butterfly enclosure. There were so many beautiful things to look at. It made for a great afternoon visit.

Salim Lanham

Beautiful displays of flowers and trees, both local and exotic. Special exhibits with different themes and lots of valuable information. An awesome kids area where they can learn about proper nutrition. Members only events that have food and drinks and music and are always a wonderful way to spend an evening. A Christmas lights garden that never fails to awe me. Friendly staff that is always ready and eager to help. A delicious cafe of local grown foods with terrific chefs. I can't say enough nice things about this venue.

Colten Rohleder

The Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is quite honestly something akin to magical horticultural bliss taken from the pages of history and continually changing to impress its patronage - and let me tell you, you will NOT be disappointed!! Currently there is a Living Art exhibit featuring van Gogh and many of his well known (and some not as well known) works. Stunning and extremely well priced considering how much daily work goes on and needs there are for maintenance and upkeep, with a wonderful cafe (slightly pricey) and great gift shop (again, slightly pricey) the Phipps will keep you and your loved ones enthralled for easily a full day outing!

Katie

I could come here everyday. The gardens are beautiful and the whole walk is such a lovely experience. I want to live in the butterfly garden. It is a little pricey, I feel, at $17 a person, but worth it to spend the day is tropical and abundant nature - the lowest my blood pressure has been in a while, I'm sure. Parking wasn't an issue for me - lots of on street parking near by for free and paylots near by.

Adam Piwarski

Went on the orchid display days and it was beautiful. Would recommend to anyone who wants a chill day to smell the flowers... literally. Great looking place for photo opportunities for school and weddings if the allow it. So pretty.

Adam Shelton

One of the most surprisingly amazing places I have visited. The size and scope of the facilities is remarkable. Beautiful flowers and plants from around the world.

Robert Hardy

Nice walk with beautiful flowers. Took a lot of photos. Saw some plant that i haven't seen before. Staff was able to answer questions that my kids had. It was a good time.

Cathy Young

What a treasure for the Pittsburgh area. Love this place. Used to go here when I was a child and still enjoy it now that I am a senior. It is also a wonderful area to get some walking in. They have an exhibit going on of Van Gogh. Start nights was amazing.

Abdulaziz Galadari

Great place! Has a lot of beautiful flowers and plants. A great place for nature lovers. There's a room filled with butterflies alongside discriptions on each butterfly colored pattern and species. Sadly though, it is not wheel chair accessible. There's plenty of beautiful flowers and this place would make a great place to visit with a partner or a fellow nature and plants admirer.

Sara Nava

If you truly love plants, give yourself the whole day. . .not just the 90 mins they suggest. It was a fabulous experience! We never got to the gift shop due to living the plants and displays so much! Go! It is great!

Dana Davidson

I've been to conservatories and botanical gardens all around the United States and nothing quite compares to Phipps. There is something about this place that feels magical. The conservatory is very well kept and beautifully done.

Danielle Peña

It's AMAZING! I had the chance to see Van Gogh in Bloom and it was BEAUTIFUL! I'm not from Pittsburgh, but when I visit, I'll be sure to go to Phipps every time!

Patricia Crawford

What a gorgeous place. Well-maintained and beautifully done. This is a must-see for Pittsburgh.

Rivka Greenfeld

Beautiful selection of flowers, plants and art! Definitely worth a visit! It can get really humid and hot there in the summer time.

Audrey Stygar

The array of flora and foliage there is lovely, such a relaxing atmosphere, and the cafe was pretty darn good as well.

Kat Wonder

I try to go to any public gardens I can and this one was wonderful! It's unique being a conservatory but doesn't feel repetitive even with it's space restrictions. One day barely felt enough and I plan to go back before my trip ends to see more

Dave Hebler

We're big fans of Longwood Gardens also in P.A. Phipps reminded me of there. So much to see! We spent nearly 3 hours seeing everything. Only complaint? We were refused food in the cafe before the posted time they stopped serving it? Actually rude about it. Recommend you eat elsewhere.

Mark Hare

It was a five star experience. The Van Gogh arrangements were startling and a great way to expose our daughters to a great painter. The vegetable garden was a wonderful surprise, the orchids were luscious and the Cuban exhibit made us want to go explore there.

april langham

I love this place! Every season I visit is a different experience. A membership is definitely worth it.

Jessica D

I spent about 2 hours exploring and it was beautiful. The Van Gogh exhibit was great. Worth the stop! The food looked great, but the lines were long so I wasn’t able to wait.

Robert Hurst

Wonderful flowers and plants. Beautiful! Takes an hour or two and time well spent for any visitors to Pittsburgh

Jennifer Fonner

Beautiful place to visit. Large array of plants and flowers. Nice informative tour.

chris lammert

The perfect place to go with friends, dates, or to celebrate special moments. Very kind staff who will always answer to the best of their ability with a smile on their face. I’ve come here my entire life and always have enjoyed it and seeing their special events.

Kristian Drivdahl-Dougherty

Beautiful floral exhibits and displays! The entrance fee is pretty reasonable, and a student discount is offered. I was there during the Van Gogh in Bloom exhibit; it was absolutely beautiful. I'd recommend Phipps to anyone living in Pittsburgh or just exploring the city in general!

Terry Giles

Love Phipps conservatory, but the cafe staff is absolutely some of the rudest people I’ve encountered. The overall atmosphere at Phipps however is amazing. When you enter, you truly become one with nature! Great place to visit alone or with the entire family! The cafe has some very healthy food options at a premium price. And the level of hospitality in which the staff has their is one of which you get from a fast food restaurant. So that’s my experience. My advice, check out Phipps, you won’t regret it, but go on a full stomach, the cafe doesn’t want your business and you are an inconvenience going there.

staci backauskas

Going here is always such a delightful experience. I cannot even imagine the hours that are put into designing and creating the displays. It's one of my favorite things to do in Pittsburgh. This is an organization that walks their talk.

Deborah Anthony

The conservatory was great. The van Gogh show was wonderful. Just a warning, I didn't realize that the rooms are very hot and muggy for the plants. As it was around 90 degrees outside it was extremely hot inside. They did provide cold water for free but if you have a problem with heat as I do, please go on a day that's cooler.

Freffy

Always worth going to. Good for a date with the significant other

Tom Remein

The amount of planning and effort needed to put together the displays each holiday season must be Herculean. In each wing of the conservatory the visitors will find beautiful combinations of flowering plants, succulents, tropical forests coordinated in many settings with displays of holiday trees, wreaths and lighting displays. There is a new Cuban tropical rain forest wing and an outdoor lighting display. Model trains fill a central area to the delight of young and old alike. From outside, the glass superstructure is illuminated in glowing colors. A feast for all the senses as holiday music plays in the background. Stunning!

Myiah Brown

Horrible! We went to take pictures, which i called 3 weeks in adavance and was told i didnt need an appt. I get there and when we get to the desk we were told we couldn't take any pictures at all and was asked to make an appt. Needless to say im very unhappy especially because i took the day off of work

Jan Galbreath

It is was a lovely display showing amazing resemblance to Van Gogh's paintings. Our group especially love the butterfly garden.

Michelle Robertson

This place is so beautiful and the plants are meticulously cared for. A definite must see!! We did not care for the cafe they had but if you are a vegetarian, it's perfect for you.

Rachel Wilson

Very helpful staff. The gardens are beautiful. Worth every penny as a flower and photography enthusiast.

Michael Ringelholtz

Best place to go when you need some downtime. Peaceful and tranquil place to walk and forget all the negatives of life.

Eric Van Inwegen

Always amazing! World-class botanical garden. Give yourself at least 2 hours to meander through all the rooms & outdoor spaces.

Bret Barkley

Phipps Conservatory might be the most underrated place in Oakland. It's a magical place that brings the variety and beauty of nature into Oakland, and it sits at the start of Schenley Park, one of Pittsburgh's best Civic parks. In addition to the variety of live plants from all over the world, Phipps is also decked with blown glass art of all kinds. My personal favorite are the glass-blown orchids that sit in with the real ones. If you're looking for a good first date, or just a place to spend a few hours, you won't regret going to Phipps.

Daniel Tse

A great Pittsburgh institution that offers year round floral fun for all ages. With constant updating, you’ll never see the same thing twice. If you find your way there around Christmas time, they make their outdoor courtyards come to life with spectacular lights and sculptures.

Gina Girt

This was my first visit and I would definitely attend. It’s more than just looking at plants. The exhibit “Van Gogh in Bloom” was a creative and fascinating interpretation of various Van Gogh paintings. These scenes were breathtaking and full of things to see. I can not wait for the next exhibit

Jerrol Quillin

Beautiful artistry gives one immediate calm. I visited as a member of a wedding party so I had limited time to experience the ambiance. I wish for an extended visit in the future but I don't travel often to Pittsburgh...hmm...I'll have a reason to travel, the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens!

Hannah DeStefanis

This place is incredible. They have so many varieties of plants it is a must see.

Sarah Hartman

Absolutely beautiful plants and displays, friendly staff, expensive admission. The botanic gardens included multiple rooms and designs, from tropical to desert, and included rooms designed to reflect the artworks of Van Gogh. Absolutely breathtaking. My only complaint is that admission is $18 per person, a bit exorbitant.

Michael S. Chandler

What a lovely and interesting place to visit. We did a Saturday morning walk about. Parking was ample nearby, and admission seemed fairly priced. There were so many amazing plants to see, and all within a well-maintained and aesthetically pleasing facility. The butterfly garden was a huge plus, and our favorite part of the exhibit. A must see gem in Pittsburgh!

David Murr

Full Disclosure, I do have an annual membership to The Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens and I believe it is a wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle of Pittsburgh life, particularly in winter. However, while they do offer an unparalleled cornucopia of exotic flora (specifically their Orchid and Miniature Tree collections), at nearly $18.00 for an adult ticket, it may be rather pricey for the typical family. In fact, because it may prove challenging to visit more than a few times a year because of its cost, so you may want to ask them about their monthly and annual events and perhaps explore their membership options. Please understand that while The Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens does try and reserve 72 parking spaces, even a membership does not guarantee that you'll find easy, free or even close parking. In conclusion, with their quaint cafeteria, inspired gift shop and overall content, I'd have to say... Even with the cost and lack of parking this is certainly a FIVE STAR REVIEW!

Nat Wetzel

Phipps is such an amazing place to go, relax, learn something new, and forget you're in a Northeast city. The tropical rooms are by far my favorite, and it's especially cool to be surprised by the tropical plants producing the food you find in the produce section. So often not what you'd expect! The butterfly room is amazing in the spring and gotta love when it's all lit up for the holidays.

Dillon Corbridge

The public gardens at Phipps are excellent. It's my favorite place in the city, with fantastic rotating exhibits, interesting programming, a great cafe, and many wonderful and beautiful plants. I wish every city could have a conservatory like Phipps.

Courtney P

Absolutely beautiful. The exhibits are very educational. It is a highly enjoyable walk. I live about an hour away but I try to visit at least twice a year.

Danielle Ocampo

Just gorgeous! Totally worth the price of admission. I loved the van gogh paintings and how each room was a representation of them, how creative! There are many gardens and many areas for children/families as well.

joseph gibel

Great place to spend a hot day, lush and beautiful. Great for families or if you just want to get away for a while Large gift shop, and good eats in the restaurant whose food has gotten great reviews.

S H

The layout is gorgeous and perfect place to have a date. All times of the year is perfect and can never go wrong

Amanda Darr

Beautiful! The Cuba section was my favorite.

Zapa

Absolutely beautiful and a joy to experience. It's gets quite pricey if you have kids/dependent people you have to pay admission for. To that I'd recommend a family membership if you can afford it. In 2 visits it pays for itself.

Jess Lea

Wonderful place! Great gift shop! I've gone to Phipps Conservatory over the years and they always come up with fun new exhibits! It's a nice place to get away for the day!

Mindy Dunmire

Absolutely amazing. The plants are giant and beautiful. Facility is very easy to navigate with a keep to the right procedure. Would go again!

Beautiful indoor conservatory. Cute gift shop. Amazing cafe, too. Good vegan and gluten-free options, as well as traditional.

Jason Sweazy

The conservatory was beautiful, clean, and fun! We really enjoyed our visit.

- Webster

Beautiful and educational. Well done! The plants are displayed very creatively. Well maintained. So colorful! It's like walking through living art.

Spencer Wedlund

The largest Conservatory I've ever seen and they were interpreting Van Gogh with plants.

Eff Dee

Went to Phipp's After Dark. Was awesome as always. Felt like I was walking around in a D&D Jungle. Plus it was Halloween Night so there was tons of kiddies dressed up in costumes. Always have a pleasant time when I'm here.

Thomas Wood

We go every month. So wonderful to see the new displays! The Van Gogh exhibit is something special. And the restaurant is great- sometimes we go just for lunch

Michael Backs

We enjoyed it very much. Great variety of flora, well maintained. Courteous staff and a great cafe!

hollah graham

Beautiful place to go. It is especially nice around Christmas time.

Taylor Leturgey

Phipps is a great garden. My fiance and i decided to buy the yearly memberships because of their beautiful seasonal layouts. The staff never ceases to impress anyone. Always stunning walking around. If you have the chance to view phipps, do it.

Dennis Rihm

So many gardens, so little time. Great place to spend a few hours.

Katie J

I love this place so much. Went here once in high school on a field trip, and have been back twice since. I just moved back into the Pittsburgh area so I plan on stopping by again soon! Every room has a unique smell die to the different plants and flowers. So neat. I also bought some wonderful floral lotion and soap here once. Has been one of my favorites to wear since.

Logan B

Beautiful garden! Everything was so well maintained! There was a bonsai exhibit going on that sadly people kept touching the plants.

S P

Stunning every time. Perfect all year round. Worth the membership.

Rob

Beautiful botanical gardens! Delightful smells and scenes. Fantastic combinations of exotic plants and decoration. Hope to be able to go again. Staff was friendly and the garden was not too busy at all.

Ardele Robinson

I just love the floral beauty of each different room in the conservatory. So peaceful in here. Great food in the Cafe. Kinda pricey admission.

Ashley White

Great activity to do. It is easy to navigate around and there are tons of activities for kids. The plants are very pretty! The cafe is delicious and reasonably priced!

Pam Scoggins

This place is absolutely beautiful. I went to wedding and it couldn't have been any nicer at at anyplace.

Brandon Torrez

Attended for a wedding. The outdoor garden was absolutely beautiful with stunning backdrop of city. Staff was very helpful and coordinated the wedding flawlessly. Excellent job

Joe Hurd

Really nice asset for the Pittsburgh area. Great job with the displays, lots of variety, butterfly garden is nice. A fair amount of walking and it tends to be on the warm/humid side. Not surprising, just something to keep in mind when you plan your visit.

Kay Sowinski

The fascination never ended throughout the whole exhibit. You could certainly spend an entire day there enjoying the horticulturists work. So much to look at, experience and enjoy!

carol foutz

This was my first time at the Phipps It was absolutely beautiful! Ate at the cafe great food. Visited the gift shop and bought some unique gifts! Wish I lived closer. I would hope there every day!

Paul Keen

Beautiful gardens. The Cuba exhibit and East Room in particular are standouts.

Seth Neeley

This was the highlight of our trip and I would absolutely go again. So much to see and many interesting plants. It was very cool that they had a Vincent van Gogh special exhibit using floral arrangements. Loved the butterfly garden also. Sometimes you can park right out front for free, but usually later in the day.

Barbara Richards

The Spring Flower Show was exceptionally beautiful this year with all the flowers looking fresh and vibrant. There seemed to be a lot more than last year and the color combinations were very appealing. The peacock flower sculpture was impressive and huge. Everyone should see the Spring and Holiday shows not just to appreciate nature but to relax and unwind for a few hours. I've been going for 60 years and still enjoy every show

Mary d

I am not around from here. however, I kept getting told this was one of the beautiful places in Pittsburgh. They are right! It is worth to see this! It was so beautiful!

Jeff McCullor

This place is simply amazing. This was our first visit and we'll definitely go back. I've never seen such a wide ranging collection of well-maintained plants and space before. The butterfly room was especially wonderful. Keep up the great work!

katie wagner

I loved visiting here! Every thing was so beautiful. While we were there a display was going on about van goh and quotes and paintings by him were scattered through the rooms, several of which were in rooms designed to match the paintings! The while experience was fantastic honestly. Just as a heads up though, if you want to see the butterflies youll have to go earlier in the day. We went Friday evening and the were all asleep

Jeremy tomb

Great place for adults or kids. Lots to see, dress for warm temps in the summer as most of the gardens are literally in greenhouses!

Anne Quinn

The Van Gogh flower is my favorite they have ever done. It was masterful. It was amazing.

Saad Althabiti

Gorgeous place, beautiful displays of flowers. Definitely one of the best places in Pittsburgh.

Eneida Vite

It's a beautiful conservatory and a very good learning experience for children the butterflies are amazing they have children activities and it's just fun to be there my kids loved it

Meg A. Watt

Wow! Wow! Wow! This is my third time at Phipps, and this time we bought the family membership. The grounds are spectacular and the exhibits so well-designed. We love the flow of the facility and how every time the displays change, the whole surroundings transform. The gift shop here is also full of wonderful gifts and relatively affordable. Highly recommend.

Am Sokry

Highly recommend you to spend your day at Phipps Conservatory and Botanic Gardens. There are many type of beautiful flower and plants in the garden. And the decoration is really nice. we were really enjoyed our day in this garden. So much fresh and fun. One of my favorite place in Pittsburgh.

Emily Tworek

Though admission is a little pricey, the conservatory is worth every penny, especially the special exhibits. The Van Gogh in Bloom exhibit is absolutely stunning, if you have the time to visit!

Jess

How beautiful! This is by far my favorite botanical garden I have ever been to! The Van Gogh exhibit was absolutely stunning. I highly recommend attending on a Friday - so that you can see the garden in both daylight, and at nightfall. It completely changes how everything looks - stunning in both lights!

Erica Williams

One of the most gorgeous botanical gardens, especially from the outside. The structure was pretty enormous walking up to it but how it's built makes it stand out so much more! The place is pretty large and the gardens outside as well as the plants inside are well kept and very picturesque. We came during the Van Gogh in Bloom exhibits so it was fun to see all the old paintings done by the famous artist and compare it to the floral/plant displays in real life! Some of them looked like the photos, and some of them took a bit of imagination to fill in the spots. The bonsai, cactus rooms were fun to see! So was the one with all the exotic fruits! I like that there's a kid's area where they can push buttons and the garden statues will spit out water! There's also a market area where they have tiny carts, little fake fruits and veggies and a cashier stand they can play in! There's also little tables and chairs! Fun for the whole family, especially if you like botany or you just want so cool/colorful photos! There was also a random Cuba exhibit where you can learn how to tango, sit in a Cuban taxi cab and take photos in front of a colorful Cuban storefront! There's a cafe downstairs that you can get lunch, drinks, coffee, etc! Overall, a large and well kept facility. They also open until 10pm so you have plenty of time to stroll along! The rooms are kept very humid and temperate so beware if you don't like the heat! There's plenty of places to sit, rest and enjoy the views along the way! The butterfly room was also pretty cool with all the different species of butterflies flying around! If you get lucky, one may land on you! I gave this place a 4 instead of a 5 cause I felt it was a bit overpriced for what it was. At $18+ an adult, that can add up real quick if you have a large group. Kids 2-18 are $11.95 and college kids get $1 off ticket fares with school ID!

We have been to many conservatories over the years (being botany nerds), and this is the most amazing we have seen! An incredible amount of indoor space makes this a great place for an off-season visit. Wonderful themed rooms with an excellent diversity of species. The same is true for their orchid and bonsai show, on display during our visit. Really appreciate their sustainability initiatives, too. Worth a 3+ hour trip!

Absolutely love it here! You can tell how much pride and work they put into the conservatory & botanical gardens. They also change the themes up every few months. There is never really a bad time to go the place is beautiful all year round!

My family visited during the flower show week. Absolutely beautiful. A wonder for the eyes. A lovely place to roam among the flora from throughout the world. We highly recommend.

Jasmine Green

Beautiful as always. The butterfly exhibit was okay, not many butterflies, but it may have been because it was the first day. The procession through the gardens was okay, not too terrible. Overall, I had a great time with my family!

Great place to enjoy art and nature. Truly relaxing, thoroughly fascinating, imagine the work that went into creating landscapes that mimic Van Gogh's art.

Josh Ventura

Very creative arrangement of flowers, plants, and other natural landscaping. Apparently this exhibit changes entirely every few months, so I'll definitely be back.

Very pretty conservatory and botanical gardens! Many different exhibits to walk through, including a palm room and cactus room. Very kid friendly/kid interactive and you can also take coffee/water/tea/etc through the gardens! They have a cafe downstairs with drinks and light food. Their seltzer drinks are wonderful and fresh.

Nature's colorful delight. A must in every season. A visit here peps one up in winter especially with a riot of colors and warmth. A good outdoors garden as well. They also rent for events such as engagements & weddings.

The Phipps is truly a gift! Employees are always very helpful and friendly and their butterfly room was just amazing to experience. There is no place like the Phipps when they are lit up for the Christmas holiday... do not miss Christmas at the Phipps!!

Phipps is a real city treasure. The sort of place you take out of town visitors. Not only are they pants beautiful, there are things going on seasonally, butterfly garden in the spring, Santa lights and trains before Christmas. It's always a relaxing and amazing time to wonder through.

Love coming to Phipps. They always have a great rotating show for the seasons. I would suggest going in the morning when it's less busy and cooler.

From the desert room through the orchid room, to the tropical garden and a short trip to Cuba this is a great place to beat the Pittsburgh winter time blues! It's always a beautiful day at Phipps!!

Phipps conservatory is absolutely stunning. I love coming to see the butterflies in the spring and summer time. My grandparents got me a membership for my birthday and I am so thankful they did! Love the discounts for the gift shop just wish they had it for the cafe as well! They are always changing the scenery so you’re always coming back to a new breathtaking display. Their cafe is a bonus! Clean delicious meals! The quiche is my favorite:)

Beautiful. The orchids were great! The bonsai also amazing. The Cuba room was terrific. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is because in the spring it's as good as any gardens get. I wish I could go ore often. The price is quite reasonable and really good compared to what you pay for and get in DC, NY, etc. I wish they sold more plants and had more help in the gift shop.

What a beautiful, serene place to visit and spend time. A lovely place to spend with loved ones..or even alone..for the surroundings just fill you with peace and harmony..so much to see..and, again, so much beauty!

Anastasia Barbara

Best conservatory I've ever been too! Absolutely beautiful exhibits with exotic and native plants that work together to create amazing visual displays. Great place to stroll peacefully but also wonderful for kids!
