Top-notch nursery! They have a plentiful assortment of bulb plants, trees, bushes, vines, vegetables, indoor house plants, bonsai, flowers, and seeds. They also have lots of gardening tools and accessories. Coming here is like Disney World for plants! I can spend so much time here. There are also very friendly employees and house cat! They sell ladybugs and praying mantis too. I only wish they had a bigger assortment of wooden trellises for sale. It’s beautiful coming here in the spring when the flowers are all in bloom, especially the Wisteria (my favorite).

Incredible nursery. It’s like Disneyland for gardeners. Glad I finally made the jaunt down from Salem. The place is huge and beautifully maintained. Plants are lush and heathy. They have everything including tools, cool gifts and bonsai. I was able to get the beneficial nematodes (refrigerated) I’d been looking for to treat black vine root weevils damaging my rhododendrons and at a reasonable price. All prices seemed equivalent to the big box home improvement stores. I was thrilled to be able to add uncommon hydrangeas to my growing collection which was the initial impulse behind my trip to investigate. Turned out Garland is great fun and a wonderful resource for the casual as well as the fanatical gardener.

They have classes for kids and adults - I didn't inquire about them but saw advertising for them. The staff were very friendly and helpful, they let my kiddos feed the shop cat some treats. Overall very nice place to visit and definitely plan on going back for my future plant and garden needs.

Pretty frustrated about my recent experience. I’ve always had such good plants and amazing customer service here for the last 2 years and always come here for my plants even though it’s further than the others. Unfortunately I think garland needs a new system for special orders. I spoke with a nice gentleman who kindly educated me and spoke with me about privacy plants and what would be a good plan. I talked about how I was more interested in planting in the fall because I need to work the soil and remove current nasty shrubs, but he insisted that sooner would be better than a 150 degree greenhouse all summer, that now is a fine time to plant the variety we thought was best. He convinced me to at least inquire with his supplier to see what they had in stock, to see if the project would even be possible. He said he would just give me a call to confirm the availability, and so I thought I would have some time to think about a $500 purchase. A few days later I get a call from the same gentleman telling me all the plants are in, ready for pick up... that the supplier had never responded to his email, and instead just put the plants on the next shipment. I tried to explain that I only wanted the availability of the plant, that I thought he was going to call me before making a final decision. I was then pretty much shamed for not being ready to purchase them, and now feel terrible that I can’t pick them up. I never told the guy I was ready, and had showed multiple points of hesitation, so I don’t know how we got here. It’s crazy, just yesterday I was wanting to write a 5 star review cause the guy was so nice and educated, but something went wrong in communication and it didn’t need to have been handled the way it was. I know reviews are important, so I recommend garland make a system for “special orders”. Have someone SIGN, not only because it protects you from these mistakes, but because it then gives you a 100% confirmation the customer is ready to purchase an order. Have a 20% non refundable deposit or something, and you’ll never have someone that is unsure. I asked my friend who was with me and she agrees 100% that I never said anything that should have initiated that order. I love this place, and I’m super sad to have had this experience... I wish I could buy all the plants now, but the space is just not ready for planting yet. I don’t blame the guy for his frustration, I blame the lack of a system in place for these types of things.

Saturday I stopped at several area nurseries closer to my home in Monmouth for help identifying 2 plants. I had the specimen and pictures. No one could help me and I waited a long time at one nursery for an answer. I walked into Garland and Sharon helped me. She was amazing!!! They will explain what will and won't work for the local area as well as what it takes to make the plants they sell grow to their best potential. Every time I've sought advice , they've asked me enough questions to make sure they have enough information to answer my questions. I've been going here for years and they have never let me down. In addition to quality service, they sell quality plants that grow beautifully if given proper care making them worth the money spent.

Inside they have a gift shop as well as indoor plants and bonzai. Their trees and groundcover looked wonderful! There was free smores supplies and a fire to roast the marshmallows over.
