I have been a fan of Baker Nursery since 1979. Walking through the greenhouse to see all the new "on trend" plants is a thrilling rite of spring! I have been working with Chris Redding, landscape designer at Baker on several different projects. I have found his work to be innovative, detailed, thoughtful and thorough with his design plans and plant selections. Eric Baker is an excellent resource for his extensive knowledge of plants, plant diagnosis and recommendations. We are so luck to have Baker Nursery and their talented staff as a regional nursery!

The young lady who range my purchase up was very nice and curious. The few staff people I encountered were pleasant and helpful. Always start with a positive. Sadly, there wasn't much more of a positive to start with. Just for starters, i nearly hurt myself trying to just get a smaller sized cart. They were sandwiched between large ones in an area too small to hold all of them. I had expected that the prices would be a little high (upscale building), but was shocked by just how much the prices were! I don't mind paying more for high quality, but this place was just overpriced. A lot of the plants looked to be in poor condition. Many of the plants were crowded on the shelves so leaves were broken off, looked under-watered, or were just not all that healthy looking. I had a gift card that I received for Mother's Day so my budget was limited. I finally found a 2 for $20 sale on a very limited selection of hastas and the most pathetic 2 packs of annuals that were a bogo. The only upside to my purchases is that I can divide the hostas and collect seeds for next year from the annuals. I won't be shopping here again.

Great place to find plants! The staff was really friendly and helpful. They helped me pick out a couple trees that will go well in my yard, and provided instructions and tips on the best way to plant them. Seemed like a great selection too, will definitely go back.

We were on a mission to get rooting hormone and a houseplant yesterday and found what we were looking for at Baker Garden and Gift. This place has a lot of succulents and a pretty good selection of houseplants and pots. This is also one of our favorite places to get many of our flowers for potting. They have tons of choices, and they organize them by color, which is helpful and fun. We have also purchased trees, shrubs, perennials and ornamental grasses here. They have a helpful, knowledgeable staff and they deliver if needed. It's not the cheapest place to go for these things, but it's worth it for the inventory and the local knowledge about what to plant and how to plant it.

This place is dangerous - you come in looking for one thing and will wind up finding all kinds of cool stuff to get along with what you needed. Want a bag of potting soil? You'll find the potting soil you want, but also some plants you didn't know you needed. "I'll stop in for a few minutes" turns into "I suddenly need to plant a new garden". Beware. This place is awesome. :P

I hate to do this, and I've never written a review before, but dangit, it is nearly impossible to get any help at this store. I tried calling first to ask about plants/bushes/flowers in stock. They wanted to write it all down, then look around, then call me back. Seems a bit antiquated and inefficient? Other nursery's let me email the list in or even text it to their personal cell phones. So I decided to drive in. Give them the benefit of the doubt. After walking around for 20 minutes, I only saw ONE person working in the building (sans the checkout) and she was swamped and her answers were short and unhelpful (she was stressed - I get it). Anyways, I can't say I'd recommend them. Just too difficult to work with.

Generally tends to be a little higher in price than other green houses. Entry area is a gift area with plants towards the middle and back of store. Several large greenhouses in back. I found the staff friendly and we're willing to give you assistance when needed.
