We are very pleased with their work and design ideas. Our gardens were overgrown and Kevin came back with design work that included extensive pruning, and relocation of plants to give the gardens appealing look and order. Work on crepe Myrtle was thoroughly done. Mulch was done with clean bag mulch, and did not smell of manure which is what you often get with truckloads of loose mulch. Our gardens now have curb appeal! Yes, as someone observed you could buy plants cheaper at Lowe’s, but do you know when they flower versus the rest of your garden? Do you properly plant them. Are they spaced correctly? I thought for all the work they did they were very reasonably priced! Kudos to Rose, Eric and their crew, and to Kevin for management of our project!

I used to buy plants at NG but began checking the price on the ground and then what was charged at check-out. Fortunately a shrub I bought had a tag and was charged almost $12 more, went back and after being accused of putting on the tag was finally given the shrub--no big deal because when I went to plant it, found it had no root system.

Upon doing my granparent duties i came across a unique little place off of Lawndale rd. I was drawn to it's energy. Pristine i would call it. I turned around and found a parking space. Upon entering the establishment i encountered a lady at the cash register. Who had a very positive ora sourronding her. I spoke and emediately decided that i wanted to work here. I told this to the cashier who said hold on ill get you an application. She emediately returned, gave me the application a place to fill it out. Oh did i mention i had my crew with me, my emotional support dog, Pinky and my grandson, Delfphon my 17mo.grandson.The newest member of the crew. I do all things based on being led by the spirit. I was truly led to be here. Every one should visit this spot, if for nothing else the ambiance! The display of Terrariums are ausome. As is the whole establishment. This is a must see enveroinment. It will change your life! It did mine! Thanks Becky you made my day!

Although I have a relatively small yard to landscape, it had seriously become overgrown and had some bushes that had become diseased and some were overcrowding their spaces. New Garden came in with their design and removed those that needed removing and replanted those areas with what I think will be beautiful bushes when they show their color. They also pruned and shaped many plants in my landscape that were overgrown. I have other projects that I plan to hire New Garden to design and make recommendations for in the near future.

We signed up for an appointment with New Garden's We Plan You Plant program and were immediately thrilled that we did. Katie listened to our thoughts and ideas and within an hour had drawn up a very professional layout for our foundation bed. She was so friendly, professional and talented so we asked her to draw up another plan for our island bed. We decided to hire New Garden to install Katie's plans. I tend to get very anxious before work is done (whether inside or outside the home) but found myself calm and confident going into this investment due to the New Garden staffs' professionalism and organization. Phase 1 (trees and shrubs and sod to reshape our island bed) was just completed and went so smoothly. Katie was available on site throughout the installation and the New Garden crew was very professional, efficient, and friendly. They worked in cold rain and clearly had pride in their work. We look forward to Spring weather for the Phase 2 installation (perennials and prepping an annual bed) and would without a doubt recommend New Garden. They are top notch all around! I called a second time lady said okay and was looking for someone said she couldn’t find no one and then hung up. I used to go here on a regular basis and loved visiting with Colleen there... Upon my last visit there which has been about three years ago, I had a most unpleasant confrontation with the manager (?) when I tried to return something I had bought there. She confronted me in front of the cashier and other customers. She needs to learn that the customer is always right...or at least I think that's the way it should be. The other customers (witnesses) were most supportive of me. I think that woman owes me an apology...but have found that Lowe's is more understanding and less expensive anyway...what a shame.

TERRIBLE SERVICE.... So saddened to write such a review but the truth must be told from my experience. When we moved to the Greensboro area I was told to get in contact with New Garden for all of our landscaping needs - wow, we were very excited because they were highly recommended. First, we were declined lawn /landscape maintenance : mowing, pruning, leaf removal, weed maintenance (for a 1 acre garden) because we wanted to have an organic company fertilize our lawn and not New Garden (they told us that they wanted to have total control if they were going to put their name on a job.) After being declined lawn maintenance, we wanted to still offer business to New Garden with installing our landscape night lighting but when the "lighting presentation" meeting was FINALLY scheduled, the lighting architect could not make the meeting. The gentleman that they sent in place of the lighting architect was somewhat competent and knowledgeable but we had several questions that he could not answer. Overall, it was a bad experience and they also gave us the feeling that they only like to work with costly expensive of jobs (one person told us that they are currently working with a client spending over $100,000 ) - so what WE dont care. We don't mind if a job is expensive as long as it's quality work but we do not like to deal with unprofessional people.

I submitted an online request for a quote for aerating and seeding on 10/12. I immediately got an email letting me know someone would be contacting me about my request. No one ever did, so on 10/16 I called the store to make sure they had gotten my request, they had. The gentleman I spoke with was apologetic and said someone would calling me soon. On Wed. 10/17, Mike from New Garden Nursery called and said he’d be out either Thursday or Friday. Wish he would have specified of which week because I’m still waiting. Very disappointed. I had heard such great things about this company and they came highly recommended by a neighbor. This is no way to do business.

Great selection and wonderfully organized. They also have wonderful customer service. Their prices are high though. I don't mind for most things, but It does add up when you are purchasing several plants if they all cost a couple dollars more. There were a few things I didn't buy because they were almost double the price of other local nurseries.

I thought they were very snobbish.. I gave them every chance.. Walked around and it was very hot and did buy about 100.oo but never again.. Never asked to help me and I had a cane. When I told my husband where I went he said well I told you years ago they were like that.. But I really wanted a flower I had been looking for but they did not have it. but bought some others.. The employees were laughing and when I did ask for help finally they said oh we are busy helping others. I watched and they were not... get your plants somewhere else friends..

Very disappointed, NGN used to be a great place to get quality plants and supplies. No more. I bought 2 dogwood trees and paid top quality price, plus delivery. When they arrived one was clearly damaged. They did not want to come pick it up, so I had to wrestle it into the back of my car and take it back. The second tree looked OK in Feb. when I bought it but now that spring is here, it's clear that half of the upper branches are dead. I paid a lot of money for premium quality and definitely wasted it. Guess it's back to the big box stores for me.

I hired New Garden with great reservation because they are quite expensive. However, I'm THRILLED that I did, am telling everyone I know to hire them for landscaping and design work, and am convinced I would never have had the quality and success with anyone else. Steve Wyndham came to our home to discuss our thoughts and goals for quite a large project. He came back a week later with detailed blue prints and plant photos to see how his vision matched ours. Alterations were never a big deal - his goal was to make us, his client, perfectly happy. Their crew has been in our yard for a month and I will miss them when they're gone. They're hard working, skilled, and fun friendly people to work with every single day. I've been completely blown away day after day by the devotion and dedication they display with everything from tearing out what was there to installing new hardscape and plantings. They've also been quite instructive as to how I should care for everything new going forward. There is nothing I would have changed about this experience. I could have redone my yard for less money, but I received all the quality, skill and expertise I paid for. The value has surpassed the cost. I have no regrets and am more excited about the results than I'd expected. Thank you Steve Wyndham and New Garden for a beautiful and ever lasting landscape.

The short version: their customer service outranks anything I have experienced in a very long time. They also seek to maintain the relationship. Once you deal with them, you'll never want to go anywhere else. I do believe if you were to walk into the store a few times, they'd very quickly know your name and strike up a conversation with you. I love that. It's difficult to find these days. And here's a detailed story for everyone: I have a Schefflera (umbrella plant) that's in its 30s. It's my only plant. I've had it since before I can remember, so I've nicknamed it "the plant that must not die." I knew it was past time to repot it, but was very concerned about the process because I know it's traumatic to plants and, well, it must not die, so I had been delaying doing so for a while. I had been to another nursery and, upon learning the plant's age, they refused to touch it. I wondered if anyone else would be able to give it the treatment it deserved and needed while not causing any harm to the plant. My experience in the store was remarkable. Everyone was willing to help and share their expertise. They understood the situation and patiently worked with me to go through their entire inventory of pots. When I discovered through measuring the plant that it had long since outgrown my SUV, I took advantage of their in-home repotting service. I'm an ammeter at repotting and want all the best for my plant. Joel was the one who handled the in-home visit. He was professionally early by a few minutes. He answered my final questions with patience and experience. I trusted him to pick out a pot based on my plant's current pot's dimensions. His choice was spot on. I observed the entire process, including the difficulty encountered at getting the plant out of its pot. It's amazing there was any room left in there for the soil! He explained the importance of pruning the plant's very long roots. I wilted inside when he purposefully sheared part of the plant's main thick root. I had to trust his experience, though I still had to wonder if I was doing the right thing! Every step of the way, care was taken as to how the plant was handled. He brought a tarp with him for the repotting, but some soil found its way onto the carpet. He borrowed my vacuum and cleaned what had spilled, though I had offered to do it later. The plant looked wonderfully repotted and was returned to its bonsai-like angle at which it had grown (I think that's important). The only odd piece to the conversation was when I asked when the plant might need a larger pot. "This will last it forever," he said. "And that's how many years," I asked. "About five," he replied. I chuckled, considering the plant's age. A few weeks later, I received a hand-written thank you card from Joel. Nothing on it was printed and its message was specifically about the repotting. He remembered the plant's type, too. It's VERY rare these days anyone receives a hand-written, personalized card for the service they received. I was very impressed. I waited two months to perform this review. I wanted to see how the plant took to its new pot and soil. The result is phenomenal. The only shock it seemed to experience was a short pause in its growth while it discovered the nutrient-rich soil. At no time did it ever lose even a single leaf. Now, I can see new shoots on all its eleven branches. Some branches have up to three new shoots, all grown in rapid succession. I have never seen such furious growth in the past five years! The repotting was beyond successful and the plant, most importantly, has responded most positively to this experience. Due to the expertise, service, post service, and plant's response, I will be a customer exclusively to New Garden Landscaping & Nursery. That's good because I'm buying a house later this year and it would be nice to get things for it. I'm having a sunroom built specifically for the plant--no kidding. It will probably outlive me! Fantastic experience with New Garden. Can't wait to get to Phase 2! Jeanine and team, I honestly don’t know how to express how happy we are with the backyard. The entire process from your design to Rose and Mike pulling out of the driveway today were beyond my expectations. Well, let me back up a bit….I have very high expectations and for several years have tried to find a person, a team, a company, anyone to help me with my yard. But people wouldn’t show up, wouldn’t call me back, wouldn’t come up with a design, wouldn’t take charge, etc. New Garden has done everything I was dreaming of. Thank you for your amazing design, taking into consideration everything we said we were looking for. I appreciated your thoughtfulness to our requirements, the photos you showed us of the plants you were proposing , and the discussion about different options for varying costs and installation timelines. And then Rose and Mike came for the installation. First of all, they are both so incredibly nice and easy to talk to. And then their work ethic and talent….where do I start?!? They got here early every day and would have worked past dark if possible. All the beds look amazing but it’s not just the attention to detail and the level of perfection with the beds and the plantings. It’s the little things like, cleaning up at the end of the day, worrying about my dog and making sure he’s safe, moving the storage bin for us 12 times because we forgot to get it out of the way. And then in the last 10 minutes they were here today, Rose says “oh, I’m thinking we’ll dig up that dead laurel in the front yard”. Not in the scope of work at all. But what customer service and what an example of "going beyond”. And then I see Mike blowing leaves from the lawn. I can’t even believe there are people out there who go to such lengths to do an outstanding job. FinalIy, I have found a group of people I like (a lot), can trust, AND do a great job. Thank you. I look forward to a long relationship and a beautiful yard.

Alonso was a walking encyclopedia of plant knowledge. Amazing!! We came prepared with questions (ok A LOT of questions) and Alonso answered all of them with patience, expertise and a little humor. He was absolutely fabulous in helping shape our landscaping vision. My mother and I were most impressed with his help. We contacted New Garden with the landscape design and installation at our new home 8 years ago, which included a couple acres of lawn. We are do-it-yourselfers and planned to take care of all the maintenance needed afterwards, including chemical treatments and mowing. It took about three seasons of watching our beautiful lawn become dry, sparse and full of weeds to ask New Garden to come back and help us. The change was practically instantaneous. They have put our lawn on a program to handle all the nutrition necessary to keep our lawn green and weed free. It was the best money we ever spent. We love how our lawn looks and take great pride in it. After all, we still do the mowing! Of course we know we really owe it all to Josh and the crew at New Garden.
