One of the best gardening centers I've ever encountered. While not necessarily a huge place, the owner/manager is full of knowledge of all kinds of plants and their care, and is endlessly helpful. And the staff, to a person, unfailingly polite and hardworking. An absolute gem.

An absolute gem in Bay Ridge. I have recently fallen more in love with this store. I was not a regular customer - not by a long shot. Then, my 4th grader had to do a science fair project and we chose to do "soil vs hydroponic - which will the bean thrive in better?" We needed some basic supplies and went to Indoor Outdoor Garden. Oscar and Helena were patient, informative, helpful and very pleasant. They did not push me to buy anything and still gave me their undivided attention and support. Helena is a retired teacher, so she gave us lots of helpful recommendations. Their products are very reasonably priced. They sell organic seeds and organic fruits/veggies that are already rooting so that you can plant at home (I think in May) I cannot thank them enough. Anyone can see that they have a true love and passion for what they do. They are awesome and I will definitely be buying my seeds, fruits, vegetables and flowers from them!

This is the best garden store ever!!! The shop offers a huge selection of beautiful plants and products to help them thrive you won’t find in most stores. What makes this shop really stand out from anywhere else though is the owner Helena. She is incredibly knowledgeable about any plant you can imagine and takes as much care with each customer as she does with her beloved plants. When me and my wife first moved to Bay Ridge we were novice house plant owners and struggled to keep the few we owned as healthy as we’d like. Luckily we stumbled upon this amazing store and with the help of Helena (Dr.Helena as people in the neighborhood know her), we now have a beautiful collection of healthy house plants that she helped us cultivate and continues to help us maintain whenever we have any questions. She is always more than happy to give free gardening lessons to any customer and goes above & beyond by offering to personally operate on any plants you maybe struggling with if you bring them back in. I wish every business owner took this amount of care with their customers and had as much pride in keeping customers happy as Helena and her staff do in this charming unique gem of a plant store.

One of the best florists on 5th ave in Bay Ridge. Jam packed to the brim with a great selection of plants, some of which are even difficult to find in big chain stores. The workers actually care about the plants and are quite knowledgeable with their answers to questions. The plants they sell tend to be quick n the more higher light side so be ware if you have a dark north facing apartment. Their prices are quite fair, especially given the quality of their plants and accessories, being much better than any big chain store.

I can't believe what the person said about not honoring their products and that they are very rude. We have been shopping here for about 15 years when Peter was still alive. He always spent lots of time with us slowing going over what we should or shouldn't do. We never went wrong and now his wife and daughter and manager are doing just the same. They are all wonderful, caring people and they do stand behind their products. The person who gave that negative review is an out and out liar.

Adorable neighborhood gardening, hydroponics and beyond store. Very well stocked, with friendly, helpful shopkeepers. They have their own YouTube site (the Plant Doctor), make their own potting mixes which are totally decently priced, and if you're lucky they'll have some time to chat about gardening (there's always someone there chatting about gardening). If you're a gardening enthusiast, you will love coming here - I sure do!

The owner constantly shows her customers and her employees how little she cares about them by retreating to her office or to other tasks as soon as someone needs help or is ready to pay. She will make her shop manager come from whatever he is doing even if she is just standing there by the register doing nothing. Her ego is so off-putting. It makes me sad I give my money to her :( Her employees are angels to put up with her.

Came in here for a planter after striking out at a local hardware store and was pleased with the selection. The shop itself is small, but feels cozy and is full of green things and gardening goodies. They have just about everything you might need for indoor or outdoor gardening supplies, plus a decent variety of plants (a couple of good looking ferns caught my eye that I might have to go back for). Prices seemed reasonable and the people working here were all pleasant and helpful. I overheard a woman giving advice to another customer on repotting and diagnosing a failing houseplant, and it sounded like she was very knowledgeable. I just needed the planter that day, but it's nice to know I could come in with questions in the future and someone would take the time to answer them thoughtfully.

The way this lady sells plants it’s more like you’re adopting them from her. Has what you want and need for local gardens. Selection is perfected for the local tastes and climate. I feel like she would be willing to help procure rarer plants upon request as well. Can’t think of a better store for backyard enthusiasts.
