Right now this firm receives a score of 4.2 over 5 and that score has been calculated on 93 reviews.
As you can see it reaches an reviews average is really good, and it is founded on a very large number of feddbacks, so we can think that the valuation is very faithful. If people have bothered to value when they are happy, it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to place feddbacks when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...

This place is a true NYC gem. A wonderful garden center tucked under the MetroNorth tracks at 116th and Park, is truly the perfect contrast in urban living: The roar of train above you and a lush oasis around you. It is clear that this place is family owned by the service offered and the down to earth - non corporate feel. Already bought our pansies and looking forward to when its warmer to stock up.
Love this place
Nice spot in the city. Reasonable prices. Good variety of plants, soil, pottery and other stuff. Helpful staff (thank you Erik for your help!).
This place is really cool. Peaceful environment, love this place.
Love this place and love the people. You really have to check out their new indoor section.
I want to start by sayin I've never done a review before but when I get great service I speak on it because these days it's rare. I was making an online purchase with them on soap which they usually do not ship out. I emailed before I made the purchase as advised on the website and I got prompt service and answers to my questions. A guy named Dimitri was the one who handled my order. He did everything necessary to assist me and even shipped my products and emailed the tracking information. The response times were even great. I will definitely do business with this company again. The level of professionalism was amazing & I'm sure I'll love my product which I've been searching high and low for. Thanks Dimitri!!!
Really nice place in the area. Actually one of the only places I know uptown you can buy quality plants and trees. And there is delivery. It’s a more get what you want, and they don’t exactly wait on you unless you have specific question. Still... Recommend it highly.
I was working on film that needed last minute a ton of evergreens and winter plants. I called all over town and I mean ALL over. These guys were the only ones that were able to get me over 60 trees /plants of various sizes and deliver them to Suffolk county. I called on Friday and they got them to me on Sunday. I am extremely thankful to Dimitri and Sarah! Wow. A++
Customer service the absolute worse. If I remember correct, the guy at the register was named Ray totally unprofessional not very customer friendly. Prices are reasonable...
Reasonably price and common plant variety. Customer service needs improvement. Cashier is selective in who she wants to provide "good service" to.
Just left the store. Very interesting place. Owner and employees promptly got me the products after I told them what I needed.
They have an impressive selection, but unfortunately none of the indoor plants are labeled. I was interested in picking up some plants for my first terrarium, and I'm not yet able to simply identify plants by sight. Short of asking a worker to ID each plant that interested me, there were no other options. Since I didn't have a lot of time to have a worker ID each plant, I left empty-handed. Had the indoor plants had labels or tags, I likely would have bought a few.
After reading all the great reviews I had high hopes, but was never asked if I needed help, when I had questions I was met with either indifference or monosyllabic answers (except for one man there one time on my way out) and the cashier was extremely rude with a bad attitude. No "thank you's" "good days" "can I help you" or advice on plants at check-out. She put my plants in a plastic bag which I had to carefully remove and reposition since they were getting smushed and bent. When I told her I didn't want the plants to come loose and the dirt to fall out, she said "well at least it will be in the bag." Neither her nor the woman next to her said anything to me after paying. My Aloe Vera is now crooked and bent thanks to her. This woman seemed not to care - I was not taken care of there at all and would absolutely never ever give them my business again or recommend them. Also, for such a trek uptown, the prices aren't even that great.
Cute garden center with a helpful staff.
This is a beautiful quiet garden in Manhattan that is open to the public all year around. Get away from the hustle and bustle and relax in beautiful settings.
Informative and helpful
Good selection, but prices are crazy in my opinion. Don't want to advertise but there's a store with half prices.
Great Service and wonderful owners
Very clean and helpful
They were very helpful but a bit costly in comparison to other places, but we tend to come here ever year
The tree is not fresh. They don’t have a good service, the “white glove” service let your house in a mess all dirty and they pretty much through the tree where you point it. Now, I have a 2 weeks tree all dry and with all branches down. Don’t recommend.
Hidden under the MetroNorth elevated tracks, the Urban Garden Center is a cool family run establishment that has good inventory, great prices, and something for everyone. I walked away with some houseplants, while my boyfriend found some used books. Even better, a lot of the plants are locally grown!
Affordable prices, great selection, eclectic arrangements, and helpful staff.
Happy to use them. They offered amazing service at affordable price. I would recommend them.
Ghourri Smart Art
Decent selection but VERY high prices. Probably double the price of the places around 28th St.
Awesome place helpful staff
Alex was a very estute owner. I look forward to learning about the further offerings
Extensive with a cafe nearby.
Great place for outdoor and indoor plants. I run a block association and do the gardening for my building and I buy all my plants and gardening supplies from them. Their selection is much better than many of the other city place..... better than a lot of suburb places too. Really helpful staff and very customer service oriented.
They give great advice I always go there when I have a problem with any of my trees or plants !
Best selection in NYC of indoor and outdoor plants ranging from big to small - and all price ranges. Staff is eager to help and answer any questions. They will also deliver for a nominal fee.
Great go to garden center. Staff is helpful. Great for outdoor plants, pots, soil, and all your Gardening items needed to build a great outdoor space.
A charming find for the city. In the dead of winter, they still carry many varieties of plants. The plants are also very inexpensive especially since they are not a big box retailer.
Nice rustic layout with wide selection, but abit pricey and disorderly in tags and items
Awful customer service. I called before I made the trek up there and was told they had an item in stock for $125. When I arrived, I asked the woman working there for help finding it. She barely looked up from her desk, and seemed annoyed that I was bothering her by asking for assistance. Begrudgingly, she located the plant (which looked sparse and it poor condition) and it was $175, not $125, and a completely different size than described on the phone. I asked why I was given misinformation, and she stared at me blankly and said, "the owner probably told you that and she isn't good with remembering things," before she walked away from us, rudely, without a word. Seems like they have a good selection of plants, but the service was so offensive I'd never go back or, in good conscious, give them my money. Note to the owners: keep an eye on who is representing your shop and interacting with customers.
Nice tranquil spot in a most unexpected place. They carry many plants (indoor and outdoor) varieties. As well as many different sizes. Lots of lay pots and trees and rocks. You can roam around and take your time, and nobody will bother you. The staff is friendly and very helpful.
They have an impressive selection, Awesome place nice people too.. they have a huge variety of plants for home or gardens. This is one of those places you have to visit more then once. The staff was very friendly, patient and helpful. A good way to get started with our garden. The plants are also very inexpensive especially since they are not a big box retailer.
Awesome place nice people too.. they have a huge variety of plants for home or gardens. This is one of those places you have to visit more then once because things go fast and and are always changing with the seasons.
My family lives up the street and I have watched this place grow tremendously over the years. Great staff and selection.
A good collection of indoor and out door plants. The staff was very friendly, patient and helpful. A good way to get started with our garden.
Terrible. My order was delayed by weeks, required a few calls and the plants seemed much smaller than the ones I selected. Then after a month two of the three died. Urban Garden basically did not care and was not helpful. It's a fun place to visit but I would not purchase there. Just over the GW is an amazing nursery in Ft. Lee - they deliver too!
Do not buy Christmas tree here. I wish I could post pics of tree when bought vs Christmas Day. Honestly looked like it had a stroke within 3 weeks. Gave a two star because the guy was helpful and delivery was fast, but I’ll buy one off the street next year. Will give me the same chances of catching my place on fire. PS we tried watering it, was too dead to suck anything up from beginning.
Loving this place. Team is really great and they give great advice.
I called mid-afternoon on a Friday to see if they could plant my window (balcony) boxes for me. They said they could probably do it in a couple of hours! On my way over I realized I forgot to ask the charge. How nice that there was NO service charge, just the cost of the plants and soil. The people working there, from the woman on the phone to the guys doing the work could not have been nicer!
This is the best garden store in Manhattan. Every time we go we find the coolest variety of plants. I have an apartment full of their succulents and ferns. I can't wait to pick up some air plants this weekend.
Awesome plant wonderland in Harlem! Excellent service from Ray helping me pick out the best plants for my south facing balcony.
Great place for plants lovers they have a variety of plants and accessories
Simply unbelievable the differences between the nice pictures on the website and the reality, today... ☹️ I visited already several garden centers in USA and in Europe, and I've never seen anything with so little quality...
Absolutely love this place. My boyfriend and I come here every few weeks to buy houseplants, orchids, and even our little Christmas tree! There is a great selection and the staff is very considerate and patient. Thank you all!
The best potted plant, atrium plant, orchid store I have ever been to. Owner is very helpful and kind. Highly recommend.
Cool place, lots of plants and other garde stuff. Could work a bit on customer service.
Urban Garden Center is awesome. They accommodated a big last minute order of small succulents. I just received the delivery and there is a huge variety of beautiful, hearty plants. I am so happy. Thank you!
As always beautiful through spring season. My children adore to come here even though you'll find done it many intervals. It gives you emotions of peace and relaxed atmosphere, its trees and wonderful landscapes make you feel like you were in all the countryside. On my survive visit, besides appreciating the plants we're able to see a small snake consuming a frog!
this place is quite literally an oasis- amazing selection, beautiful space, with great prices and service.
Beautiful place to visit..for those loves garden
affordable and great arrangement! :)
Great place for plants and garden needs.
I pass by here during my jog sometimes. The location has two exits. One in the front under the subway bridge and one in the back. More recently I started purchasing smaller plants . But just the other day I witness a old lady (staff) belittle and shout at a group of handicap people. It was really toxic and ill mannered. Definitely avoiding this place in the future.
Well, they may not go out of their way to help you but their merchandise is varied enough to make up the deficit.
