We just used Hufnagel Landscape Design & Construction to remove and replace an old fence surrounding our Hoboken brownstone backyard. They also installed an automatic irrigation system, repaired the stairs on our old deck and removed some giant old stumps. Everyone at Hufnagel was a pro and was constantly checking to make sure the job went smoothly and quickly. Landscape work in the small spaces of Hoboken is always complicated and this one had its challenges, and Hufnagel was comfortable working with us to get the job done right. The finished product looks and works great, and my neighbors love it too! They know how to work in this town and we highly recommend them!

Very bad experience. They cancelled my $10K contract. They were 3 months late and were annoyed that a small customer like me pressured them for installation dates. Worked with them for 18 months to negotiate the design and planting of my garden. Then got dumped. Have complained to the Better Business Bureau. Recommend that you choose another contractor if your project is less than $50k. You will get postponed, then dumped.. Of course, if you don't mind waiting without complaint until they find time for you, then you might be ok. But there are other landscape contractors out there.

A death in the family changed our summer plans exponentially, leaving us realizing we would be in California more than our home for the next 6 + months, thus, we sadly cancelled our current plans to have Hufnagel Landscape Design & Construction Group Inc take on the project of hardscaping our sad, tired, ugly backyard. Valerie Hufnagel and crew were in constant communication with us, coming up with solutions perfect for our hopes, providing us with a quote in record time, physically coming over to our home and checking in. We were made to feel important, valuable and relevant by Michael Hartman & the entire Hufnagel team. Although we do not know when we will be able to revisit the "backyard project," we do not hesitate to recommend Hufnagel Landscape Design and Construction Company to all beginning their search.

We were so pleased and impressed with Hufnagel Landscape. They were extremely proactive in terms of planning our job and finding the best drainage solution for our backyard. They took care of everything from permits, to zoning/construction plans, to finishing touches, and it was completely stress free for me. They did a fantastic job and completed converted our backyard and patio into a wonderful space.
