My wife Lindsey and I are very particular about the materials, design, project estimate for cost, start and completion. Of the several projects we have hired for completion, without exception the experience working with Shane and his team has exceeded our expectations in every facet of the project! He was more than happy to meet with us at our home and Stone Hill on several occasions as needed to help us select the materials for primary areas, borders, walls, garden layouts and greenery. We were truly impressed and appreciative of Shane's genuine desire to help us get it right. Once this had been accomplished and we reviewed what he had in mind for the space, knowing what was important to us, we did what we simply NEVER do, we entrusted Shane UNCONDITIONALLY to then create! And we were on a budget that we needed to adhere to. However, when doing the design layout, we asked him to please make us aware of additional design/material ideas that he felt would be a great replacement, compliment and or lower cost solution without compromise to material quality, aesthetics and or functionality for example. We started the 1st of 3 projects in May. It came in at budget(!!) and transformed our backyard patio from a fairly bland and simple space to grill, eat and do so in shifts for more than 8 people due to the limited seating or standing room, into an absolutely beautifully designed area that flowed perfectly from the sliders entering the patio to the two seating areas including one around the grill, with a beautiful and functional knee wall for great added seating to jump around in conversation. The totality of the design/space has generated countless compliments and requests for the name behind the work! Most importantly, Lindsey and I can't stop smiling and loving how Shane, Chad and team transformed the space to one that we love!! I have to say that we have NEVER had a crew dealing with as many piles of different materials plus the pavers, as committed and successful at fully cleaning the job site EVERY day before leaving! Sorry for the lengthy review. I am going to spare you from the other 2 projects. It completed yesterday, resulting in another transformation of a simple walkway and front door steps to something far more beautiful and if not for Shane's creativity and experience we never would have imagined the resulting design and materials. Actually came in under the under budget too!! We could not be happier! Shane is welcome to come by with any existing or perspective clients, to see his work firsthand for ideas pertaining to materials, design, etc Thank you very much Shane, Chad and team for truly wonderful results we absolutely love and appreciate!! Got a quote for a $70k+ backyard project mid summer. Shane came out several times and was very nice and helpful throughout the process. By the time we had decided to move forward with the project it was late summer so we thought it best to wait until next year. Two months later, I received an invoice for $600 for the estimate. This was completely unexpected because it says "free estimates" on the website and there was no discussion about fees for the estimate. We paid the bill and decided to get a second estimate from another company. This came in about 40% less so we decided to go with the other company. I'm sure Artisan Grounds does great work but transparency was lacking and fees were high.

Shane and I connected late last Fall to discuss putting the finishing touches on our new construction that would be wrapping up in the Spring. The project included veneering the foundation, 100+ plantings, paver installation, stormwater requirements and rebuilding a stonewall. His responses were prompt and followed up to the site routinely for measurements and planning. His contract was also very thorough which reassured me he was serious about the project. Once on site, Shane and his crew put in long, productive days. They understood what concept/look we were targeting so we left many of the creative decisions up to them. He also took on unplanned site work where a previous crew left off. The results exceeded expectations! Artisan's pricing was competitive with other bids but Shane's professionalism puts him a notch above many of the other outfits in the area. Highly recommend!

Where to start! Artisan grounds does a phenomenal job from start to finish. We met with Shane for a consolation and design work. He made it very clear shortly down the road that design work was an additional fee outside of the initial consultation. This is because he uses an amazing architect and designer to draft these proposals. He also worked with my budget down the road and was able to tweak items/material throughout the process to fit. I received quotes from other companies as well and Artisan grounds came in slightly higher than some of its competitors however, the quality you receive with Artisan Grounds far surpasses what you get with other companies. We did not hesitate to go with Shane and the Team and we are so thankful we did.
