Good selection. Can't comment much on service, since I've always found what I needed on my own. Be careful to make sure you check what you're picking up (there may be spiders).

Top quality products
Helpful staff but not pushy , great selection.
Very poor service especially the woman claiming the store manager.
They are a full service nursery supplying garden and pond plants from which I've been purchasing plants and products for about twenty years. They usually have a polite staff and many of their staff members are knowledgeable. Their return policy is fair and has been consistently honored. I always check their stock when in their area.
Good location, excellent staff, quality products and great selection.
Good selection, courteous staff, knowledgeable, good quality plants, and John the manager is awesome.
I love the team at Meadow Farms in Winchester Virginia. John is a wonderful manager and his staff never stops working. They always make sure my order is complete and I have the best plants. They always go above and beyond. I love meadow Farms in Winchester. Also the Meadow Farms in Leesburg is a great place to go as well, Smitty is always over the top nice.
We went just before Halloween and our toddler had a blast with the bounce house and various hay bale slides. The pumpkin prices were in line with other stands in the area and they had some tiny pumpkins for the tiny human.
All you need for the garden
Convenient to home, easy to get to and get around in; helpful friendly people; good stock of all sorts of goods.
awesome service
Great Christmas tree options and excellent customer service!
Best prices in the area
Meadows Farms has been my go to nursery since I moved to Winchester. I have gone to other nurseries in the area and for varies reasons always come back to Meadows Farms. The staff is always knowledgeable and helpful making the nursery a great place to shop. They have the best prices, their nursery stock is well taken care of and the best selection of plants that grow in the area. The staff member's I've worked the most with is Ryan ... he pointed out the Encore Azalea's bushes for their outstanding blooming throughout the growing season, a Colo Blue Spruce for the end of the year event and the Champagne Pink Blueberry to buddy up with my blueberry. Ryan also gave us tips on care of all of our new plants.
It's a great place
over priced
So I had to purchase some burford hollys for my house. I thought I had purchased them incorrectly since I saw "dwarf burfords" on my ticket. So I took the plants back and management apologized (they didn't do anything wrong) and gave me full credit. I went home and spoke with my landscape consultant and they said that I had actually recieved the correct hollys. So I went back to pick the bushes up and without hesitation, I was sold the hollys with smiles and a few laughs because of my mistake. The staff was more than willing to help me and showed no signs of frusteration due to my lack of knowledge. They could have been annoyed because I took extra time from their employees, but instead made the experience very delightful. Even the gentleman who helped me load the truck was willing and able. I have read the other reviews and it sounds as if the mistakes made were planting issues rather than service issues. If you want to shop local and feel that you are supporting local, then buy from Meadows. Truly caring and helpful!
Meadows Farms has the freshest plants in this area. The prices are a little high but the quality justifies them.
Stopped in for advice on my diseased Crape Myrtle. The staff was able to identify the problem and suggest products to remedy the situation. They even took the time to explain to me which product would be safer since I had pets in my home. I really appreciate their knowledge and helpfulness. Updated October 2018. Been coming her for years. Knowledgeable staff, quality products that don't die 2 weeks after planting, reasonable prices. Much better than local home improvement stores!
This place is the best for all your plant needs, the staff is always friendly and knowledgeable, and they are open most of the year with pumpkins and Christmas trees in the colder months
I bought my seasonal flowers at this site in early spring. Your selection was amazing and the quality of the plants was spectacular. They are all growing and thriving all over my yard. I often come in to just browse and get idea. Great garden center.
A bit pricey but higher quality shrubbery than Lowe's or home Depot type stores. Large selection for land scaping projects.
Best place ever to buy trees, shrubs and plants. They are very healthy. Great warranty on their trees and shrubs. The management is so professional and great to deal with. Gerald was so nice and helpful. He was a pleasure to do business with. In fact all the staff are. Highly recommend!
Enjoy getting your e-mails. The specials often get me in! I really enjoy the tips from the garden. Thanks Ray McKinley
I always find what im looking for here, I had a receipt from last year and they honored it .
Our apartment has an aphid infestation due to the Christmas tree we purchased! Trees were not inspected or treated. Also, they stake the trees poorly which causes damage to the entire tree. Horrible experience and ruined holiday with stress and anxiety about bugs! We will not be returning nor will we recommend.
I shop here a few times during the year. Starting in the spring, I come pick out vegetable seeds. The selection is amazing and I don't have to go anywhere else to complete my gardening needs for the year! Several years ago, I purchased two of the Azaleas that bloom twice--the name escapes me--and they are beautiful and healthy and thriving. The staff are excellent and go out of their way to help - with finding items, answering questions, and even retrieving shrubs and lugging them to my car for me! As an added bonus, the email has given me loads of information as a new gardener! I could go on and on!!!.
Meadows Farms always has a large variety of often harder to find shrubs and trees. We have been purchasing from Meadows Farms for as long as I can remember. The staff are helpful and very friendly. They also help you load your heavy trees and even give good landscaping advice free of charge. Karen Bennett
I have been going to the Meadows Farm Nursery on Plank Rd. for the past 25 yrs. and have never been disappointed. Usually we spend Mother's Day getting annuals for the walkway. Follow that up with vegetable plants for the summer and end up with getting our Christmas tree for the holidays. I have even special ordered super large flower pots. I have always been treated with friendliness and courtesy. It is a nice place to shop at.
The staff was always helpful. The plants were not always the cheapest but we always had good luck with them and good return on our veggies! The staff was pretty knowledgeable and willing to help.
Quality plants, good variety, knowledgeable staff and helpful with loading, finding on site, etc. I cannot say enough good things about Meadows Farms. Would highly recommend them!
The Scrooge is alive turning away children the last Friday before Christmas at Meadows Farms. We arrived at 7:50 (closing time 8:00) and were told "we are closed". Thanks for nothing Meadows Farms:-(
Excellent selection with very knowledgeable people to answer your questions.
Great products, helpful staff, nice environs :-)
Employees are very helpful, everything we've gotten there has done beautifully in our yard.
Great place to go for plants and answers.
Great nursery! Fair prices, friendly staff, and wide selection of annuals, perennials, shrubs, and trees.
GO THERE JUST TO ENJOY BEING AROUND PLANTS. NEVER LEAVE WITHOUT AT LEAST ONE 'JUST GOT TO HAVE THIS' TO PLANT IN MY GARDEN!
great selection & prices. Filled my cart. Plants are beautiful!
Have different types of plants, very good customer service
Great selection of plants and bedding supplies. Also have lots of landscape items, tools, and yard fixtures. Staff is knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with. Great!
I always enjoy going to dog friendly Meadows Farms. They have a great selection of healthy plants and other gardening items. The employees are helpful and courteous. Dorothy Daniels
knowledgeable staff, friendly, good prices, and the trees installed are absolutely beautiful
The place is very nice fully stocked. I only wish that sumone would sweep out the TRL after they unload it. Those plants dump a lot of dirt when they're being unloaded!!!!!!
Excellent place to go for all your landscape needs!
Everyone is always helpful! The manager/owner is a blast and we always find what we need!
I have been dealing with Meadows Farm for more than 30 years, and feel like they have gotten better year after year, so good work!
Excellent quality of all flowers, plants, vegetables and an exceptional staff who are always willing and able to assist you in all your needs. Highly recommend them.
Very pretty selection, reminded me of a wonderful nursery we had back in Wisconsin. Staff was very helpful and knowledgeable.
Wonderful experience! Friendly helpful staff!
Always great plants. Trees are healthy and look great as well
Great nursery, the plants are really healthy and the people who work there are helpful.
Local nursery. Great annuals. Little pricier than box stores but their plants actually last. Have a few mums in my front yard and get compliments regularly. They also will answer any questions you have. Nice folks.
They were very helpful and polite. I had a great experience shopping here. I will definitely be going back.
Always find the best annuals as well as help!!
Always a great experience here! Great plants.. even the "scratch & dent" items are better than some of the big chain stores' regular stock. Very nice staff- always. Highly recommend!
Have always been satisfied with the quality of their product. Very helpful staff.
Last spring I purchased 4 trees, starting soil, enhancer etc. from MF. Within a month 2 were dead and the other two were leaning that way. I took the 2 trees back to MF and were told they were out of that type and was issued a store credit instead. "Come back next year". Several weeks later after the other trees failed I went there and was told that only half credit was offered so I left with the trees determined to speak with a manger at a later date. (We have an automatic sprinkler system and did everything we could to keep these trees from dying. Not fair) Yesterday I took the remaining dead tree and the store creditcard back to MFs and was told that my credit had expired. Only good for a year. "Read the back of your card" So my trees died, they didn't have replacements, and when I returned they had expired my store credit.
Great place,friendly people,helpful
They may be a little pricey at times, but their plants are guaranteed, and the selection is fantastic. The staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable!
We always get our Christmas tree here.
Very knowledgeable, especially when you find the right person to ask. Will usually go above and beyond to help you find or get what you need. Many things, in stock, that you can't find anywhere else. Sometimes it's nice to go and walk around, even if you don't need anything. The manager's cute, too
Not very helpful at all. 3 guys sitting up in the front smoking and ignoring me. Had to find them for questions. I am handicapped and these sales folks could not be bothered to ask if I needed help dragging my cart to my car, as well as loading the plants into the car. yikes. Overpriced, but nice selection.
Shorted me one bag of rocks
I like this place, I always find what I need. The people out front and inside are very friendly and helpful.
Very helpful and prices are great!
Great plants
Clean wonderful place to shop
Great layout and quality products. The service was great even when I showed up unannounced 5 min before closing needing bulk mulch! Will always go back for my landscape needs
Great!
great plant inventory, helpful and knowledgable staff
Has great selection of trees and plants. Staff is friendly and helpful. Have great classes too.
Good selection of grass seed
Beautiful and healthy plants; nice variety but pricey. Staff is very friendly!
Love it
Great local nursery with large variety ranging from common bedding plants to fancy expensive trees. Has pumpkins in October and Christmas trees in December. Open March to January.
Outstanding help with our questions about our bug and other problems. Although I'd recommend coming when they're less busy and you will get more help
Friendly staff every time I go. Nice selection of local appropriate plants and garden supplies.
Usually have everything we want and the staff is always friendly. some of the staff could use a little more knowledge about what they are selling but over all the purchasing experiences we have had are normally good. The sale prices and military discount are always a good deal.
Great people work there with the expertise. Good prices. Fun to just visit. Great Halloween haunted house.
Beautiful trees! Great price! Helpful and friendly staff.
Massive selection and healthy plants I do wish prices were a little better but overall awesome place.
I had landscaping at my home done by the staff at your location on Route 3. The Customer Satisfaction Survey that was offered with my completion packet would not give me the opportunity to express how I felt about my landscape experience. The Landscape Architect/Designer was prompt at our initial design meeting, but when I had questions about my landscape job he was very rude. He and I had exchanges via text messages about adding extra areas to be landscaped to the original plan. Since he was hired as the designer I wanted to contact him so to make sure that we were all on the same page in regard to my project. We exchanged text messages because the extra areas, what he and I talked about did not occur at my home. This was a problem to me because when you say that something can be added without issue, you must abide by that based on integrity. I even went as far as giving an acknowledgement that I knew that there would have to be financial adjustments made to the original agreement. I sent him some pictures of some plants that I would have liked to have planted, they were Salvia. I do not know anything about gardening and that is the reason why I chose to spend my money with Meadow Farms. I sent him a text of the flowers, and he went on to state to me that “he never got those pictures, and come on why would we plant Salvia that will die at the end of the season. I thought this came across as very rude and cavalier to say the least. I then called him on the phone because text messages lack tone on or about 8:20 and he stated to me that “he did not have time to talk to me about this issue because he was lying down with his kids”. This was very rude to me because a proper response would have been “Mr. Miller I am with my family, can we talk about this is the morning?”. He did not have to answer the phone he could have sent a text that said “It is after business hours can we discuss this in the morning I am with my family”. I understand business and family because I have children and grandchildren, and I am the owner of a business in the field of health care. You should never use that tone and take that position with a customer that has spent his or her hard earned money with your organization, due to the fact that bad reviews can have a negative effect on business. I stated to him that I wanted vibrant colors in my landscape package and he stated that he had some things in mind that I would like because I wanted red, yellow, and orange flowers to accent my home. This did not occur to say that least for the amount of money that I paid, which is over $3000.00. I expected a better design, more content, a higher grade of flowers, and some imagination. The Landscape Foreman was relatively nice and he had me send him the pictures of the types of flowers that I wanted which were French and African Marigolds and Salvia. Once again I am not a landscape professional, so that makes me a novice in the area of horticulture. I have a couple of issues with the landscape team they used some flowers that were damaged and on the verge of dying. The roses that we got were very small and damaged. I expected a great deal more in regard to my design because Meadow Farms is the preeminent landscape operation in this area, and I expected an upscale product. I also had flowers beds made but the landscape crew dug the flower beds so that if it rained the water would settle and potentially run into the house, instead of draining into the yard. I am not pleased to say with the professionalism, customer courtesy, respect, and the lack of desire to assist a client by the Landscape Designer at your location on Route 3. I can honestly say without a doubt that I will never do business with the Meadow Farms store on Route 3, because this experience is one that cost me a great deal of money but yielded a mediocre result to say the least.
Very good flower selection, healthy plants and friendly staff
Contracted with Meadows Farms to have a patio with landscape put in, agreeing on a set price and start date. First, the date got pushed back a week and a half, then the time got pushed back on the stated day to afternoon. The crew showed up at 3:00pm tired from a tough previous job. My husband had already removed a lot of sod and irrigation lines for them. They unloaded materials and sprayed out the design, which we changed from the original design, not changing size but taking out 2 curves. Scott said the new design would require less pavers and cutting. They dug some more and asked to return the next morning. When they completed the patio that day they put the charge to my card on file. When my AMX showed up I totaled my charges from Meadows Farms and realized I had been overcharged $327. When I spoke with Erin at Meadows Farms she first said they installed a larger patio, not true. Then she said it was because of the design change and they had to do more cuts. Funny, that's not what he told us. They said we were, however, overcharged $255, which they will credit my account. Lesson here don't ever give these people your card number, write them a check so you can control what you pay. They should have never charged me more than what we were contracted for without discussing it with me. Very disappointed in how they do business....
Excellent service, knowledgeable staff and a great variety of plants and garden items.
I have a degree in horticulture, and I love this place. Staff is knowledgeable and super friendly too. I get a 10% military discount plus 1 year plant warrantee. Rick Meadows did our front landscape plan for free at an in-store event and it has turned out beautifully. Got a freeze coming tonight and just got a customer newsletter from them telling me how to protect my plants. Wow, that's service!
They did not show up as agreed to do some landscaping. I have tried to contact and no response.
Found what I wanted. Staff was courteous.
One of the better places to shop for landscaping stuff. Staff was super friendly in helping me pick plants for my front yard
I purchased a used fountain on clearance. I was told it worked. When I set it up (very heavy) it did not work. I called and was told to bring it in and they would try to fix. I took it in and with one new part the lights came on but only 1/2, and with some tinkering the pump started to work. I was told to clean the pump with steel wool, which i did, but in the process of doing that I broke the prop. I hesitate to reach out to them again. UGH! I gave them a 4 star because this is the only time I have not been happy with my purchase and the help is always great.
This place is the best, free bouncy house, haunted bus, and slide for the kids.
The workers were attentive, they were doing their job but stopped to see if we needed assistance.
I purchased a bunch of perennials from Meadow Farms of Great Falls. Some of them did not survive. When I showed them the proof, they were kind enough to return the credit. I also learn from their garden tips for each month.
Always great inventory selection and helpful, knowledgeable employees. If you sign up for the preferred customer status (who wouldn't?) you will get discounts and notifications of special sales, etc.
Great plant selection, and staff is helpful with plant decision and helping load.
Great selection of plants, pottery, and succulents too! Friendly and knowledgable staff
You can find me at Meadows Farms multiple times during the growing season. They always seem to have the best selection of quality plants - and they are staffed by knowledgeable and friendly staff. Keep up the great work!
They have a good variety of native plants. They didn't have anyone to help you pick out or suggest how to setup your gardens. Overall they have a wide variety of plants and trees and I plan on going back real soon in about a week. The Staff was friendly.
The folks there really know their stuff
Went in on Friday looking for 4 Crype Myrtle trees. Was very happy to find them on sale and of a large enough size to actually show up in my landscape. I was offered help and the gentleman got a cart loaded the trees and a big shrub and loaded them all in my truck for me. All in all a great and quick trip for me. Thanks for the great selection and enough product to satisfy my needs.
We went to Meadows Farms to purchase a couple of rhododendron bushes and a pampas grass plant. We had never been to the Fredericksburg location so had no idea where to begin looking. One of the young men working there approached us and asked if we needed help. He not only helped us find what we were looking for, but he also got a cart for us and stayed with us until we were turned over to the check-out clerk. We were very impressed with the huge selection at this location and with the friendliness of the staff.
So, Rick Meadows just came to my house and told me he could only plant box bushes and "green" plants .... nothing with flowers, nothing with color, nothing, nothing, nothing ..... all because the deer would eat them! I told him I had more than enough green here at my house and really wanted a design that incorporated color, some flower, something other than green! He said he will plant what I want, but will not warranty any of it because the deer will eat it. Surely, I'm not the only home here in Spotsylvania County (near Chancellorsville Battlefield) who wants something planted that is "deer resistant". AND, when I asked him if he could at least plant some trees (maybe some Japanese Maples, etc, he said "I'm sorry, but I can't help you"! Very unfortunate and disheartening "meeting" that lasted approximately 6 minutes .... that's how long it took him to assess my property and tell me he can't help me. Rather, let me rephrase, he could help me and plant what I want, but he would not warranty it! Has anyone else experienced this???? WOW .....
I can always count on finding what I need at Meadows Farm. Plus, the professionals here know their plants.
Went with my mother in law to look for wine barrels. Ended up buying mums already in wooden barrels, a bale of hay, and a flat of pansies. Needless to say, we were impressed with the quality of plants and prices. We even got a military discount. Employees were very friendly and helpful and brought us wagons for our flowers while we browsed. I will definitely be back to buy pumpkins and look for some shrubs to plant in my yard. :)
Plants are always fresh and healthy, and they have a wide variety to pick from to make your garden look its best!
If I could give them no stars I would. We hired them to do landscaping for our home and two months later a bunch of people who couldn’t speak English - probably illegals - show up and didn’t do what they were told. The communication barrier was a problem. The gentlemen who initially helped us at the store was nice but the follow through was horrendous. When we called the Fredericksburg location hey said we had to call their Stafford location but no one would call us back. I am simply amazed at the four and five star ratings. Stay far away from meadows farms.
Knowledgeable staff always has great input on landscaping projects. Good pricing and selection. We use them for landscaping our personal home and we also purchase all our landscaping for new home building projects from Meadow Farms - they are real pros.
Great plants and excellent staff
