UPDATE: Well, they’ve done it again. It simply wasn’t enough for them to fire him after the unfortunate death of our cat and refuse to give him a good reference because he happened to report his higher up, but they’ve completely blown us out of the water with this one.
After attempting to complete my husband’s taxes for 2018, we were absolutely aghast to find out he owes over one thousand to the State and Federal! Brunswick Home and Garden hires Mangum & Associates, LLC, an accounting firm, to complete their payroll, and a horrid one at that. Turns out, after speaking to a reliable accountant, and some research and calculations, the accounting firm working for Brunswick Home and Garden FAILED to take out the correct amount of taxes for my husband for 2018 according to the IRS tax bracket. He ended up owing money, because they did not follow the federal, nor state mandated guidelines on the amount of taxes to take out for someone who is married, claiming one dependent.
I am absolutely disgusted by the amount of attitude I received on the phone after speaking with their accounting firm. The accountant I spoke with refused to further research the situation, and placed blame on my husband, stating that he “should have paid attention to what was coming out of his paycheck”. If my husband is going to be the one calculating his own taxes, then why are they in business, or getting paid to do their job incorrectly? I am so disgusted by this company and their accounting firm. I will be taking this up with the IRS, and my attorney.
You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Brunswick Home and Garden decided they didn’t like my review, and to delete it, so I’ll repost:
The owner of Brunswick Home and Garden, Sandy, decided to fire my husband (after a full day of work, mind you, how convenient for them), after he called out weeks before due to the unfortunate passing of our cat, due to the cancer, Lymphoma. Not only that, but the main reason they proceeded to fire him was because he made several complaints about his manager, Mark, who mistreated him and singled him out on a daily basis. Of course she wouldn’t fire Mark, considering she’s best friends with his wife, despite all of the employees loathing and complaining about him constantly. Even the other employees will vouch for this. They tried to claim they fired him due to him calling out, and only working 31 hours a week. Well, the 1,023 dollar final check he just received from Brunswick Home and Garden says otherwise. Oh, and of course it’s perfectly okay for Sandy’s son to be late and hardly work the hours he’s supposed to, and dawdle on the clock— must be some nepotism there. My husband was retaliated against after sticking up for himself, and that is against the Whistleblower’s Protection Act. They even refused to give him a good reference when he started looking for a new job. That’s just unnecessary and nasty. They can continue to delete my review everyday, if it helps them feel better— I’ll just continue reposting it. This poor excuse for a business can expect a retaliation lawsuit. Avoid at all costs! This business doesn’t care about their employees, nor their customers. I’ve seen it firsthand.
