We did not choose Curby's they were the landscaper used by our builder. We had the unfortunate timing of having our sod laid June 2010 - right before something crazy like 45 days of close to 100 degree weather. Despite our $800 water bill, our lawn struggled. Our builder was amazing and paid to have it over seeded in the fall. Since then our yard has been fantastic. However, the plants that were provided by Curby's were riddled with infestation, died shortly after (at first I didn't put a lot of steak that it was poor quality until they avoided following up after our 1 yr warranty walk-thru). They replaced a few of the very cheap bushes, I was told they would return to replace the 2 almost dead tree's soon, well a year and a half later... (yes around 20 calls on my end) with very little return attempts made on Curby's end to solve the matter I asked my builder what I should do? Due to his calls and his calls alone is how I got any response at all. Basically our builder is graciously paying for a replacement (although I would never ask him to do so, apparently Curby had no problem asking for this). When Curby blankly pointed out he was of no fault in the matter and said the only reason I was getting a call back at all was because my builder was paying for it, I simply asked why is the warranty not in effect? He's rude retort was because we were poor yard caregivers and allowed our entire yard to die due to not watering it. I was stunned. I asked him when the last time he saw our yard was, that it was in fact very much alive and thriving, and that the trees died to infestation that his worker pointed out to me at the first visit. I was told he would replace one tree only at his convenience, when he managed to make it to my neighborhood next and to expect a call before his visit is too much to ask for. Then.... I was hung up on. Yes.. I got a little upset with his remarks. I will never willingly work with this company again. I do find it interesting that all their plants are either sad looking or fail to thrive when all the plants I have added after the fact are doing quite nicely.... Does that seem odd to anybody else?
