I have been doing business with Wilcox Nursery for many years and have ALWAYS had a positive experience. Bruce Turley is extremely knowledgeable about native butterfly host and nectar plants, as well as native plants in general. The staff has helped me with everything from tree selection to vegetable gardening to pond construction. They are honest about what will not work and when is not the right time to plant; just as important as what will. They have steered me away from expensive plants that were not the best for the conditions in my garden. That is good business in the long run.

If I could give a negative star rating I would... The worst customer service ever... Kayce was dismissive and had no knowledge of the plant I was asking about and yet he told me I didn't understand the conditions that the plant needed nor the requirements to care for an 80 year old bonsai, which has been thriving under my care for 25 years using the methods it's previous owner, a member and past president of the San Francisco bonsai society taught me.. He told me I shouldn't have brought the plant to Florida and that it was going to die. The one helpful thing he told me was the name of another nursery, Jene tropicals in St. Pete, she was in fact was very helpful and I'm going there today... I will never ever do business with Wilcox....

Stop going to other nurseries! Wilcox is easily THE BEST place around. I am a FL native, but not a botanist. They have provided me with spot-on information regarding FL friendly/native species that I always rely upon. Everyone at the store is extremely attentive and pleasant. In fact, they just planted 3 trees for me today. The crew was professional and friendly, and did great work. I drive 45 minutes to get to Wilcox and pass numerous nurseries on the way. Doesn’t matter, as it is well worth the extra time. Every time.

The staff and owner are dedicated to selling native plants that enhance our natural environment, and support bird and butterfly populations. It is the only place I buy my plants because I know the plants that they carry are well suited for the local conditions

Rude? Nonsense!!! Very responsive staff, showed us around and patiently answered our many questions -- their love of the work really shows. We had Bruce design our landscaping and couldn't be more pleased. Everything was done right and on time, but what really sets them apart is service after the sale. Every question, every concern has been promptly & fully addressed. Bruce is incredibly knowledgeable, and his enthusiasm for his field is infectious. You can't go wrong with these guys.

I have visited Wilcox Nursery for their Florida native plants for the past 20 years and this comment is in terms of the Florida Native Nursery exclusively. Wilcox has a great selection of plants. Do not come and go without asking for any help on your mind. You will easily get personalized staff assistance and more if that individual is not able to answer your questions. Bruce Turley is an encyclopedia of Florida native plants, available on site, by e-mail, and is timely.

They have Native Florida plants which is the "main" reason for going. My husband was there today, buying a Chickasaw Plum tree for $18.00. A beautiful native tree that we highly recommend. Most of our yard has little grass which was planned because we want to encourage all critters and birds to stay, or as they pass through, knowing they will have great coverage because of all the native plants. Bruce Turley, owner, is very knowledgeable and always willing to answer any question, large or small. Give this garden shop a visit. You will not be disappointed.

High prices, sick looking plants . I was looking for a specialty native plant but ended up going to Lowe's the price was only 25% of what i would have paid for a terrible looking plant. And to my surprise Lowe's now carries native plants that look hundreds times better, will not be back.

Cosmic Carrie

I like this place. I have been here several times and they have a really nice nursery. They are well mannered with great prices. I like how they carry several fruit tree varieties. Keep up the good work. :)

One of my favorite places in Largo, maybe even in Pinellas county!! I'm known as the black kow kid as I'm always getting dirt every time i'm there. Very nice and informative people. Hillary is great!

Kat Christie

Pretty Good Gardening Store.

Closed on Sundays? Not what the sign says, but the locked gate says otherwise. Waste of time, won't waste any more on them.

travelnted1 .

Pretty sure they're out of business. Stopped by during posted business hours (on the website and phone), door locked, parking lot fenced off.

To the ignoramuses who complained that the nursery was closed on Mothers Day......SERIOUSLY???????? Many family owned businesses close on this day. Also, to the one who stated that the nursery went out of business because they were closed on Mothers Day......again, SERIOUSLY???????? Did you not see the product beyond the gates? This is the oldest, continuously operated nursery in Pinellas County, and rightly so. They sell almost 100% native plants, the staff is superb as well, and they host spectacular events with the local chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society twice a year. These types of businesses are far and few between. OMG...today is Memorial Day....are they open??? Lets also crucify them for being closed on Christmas.

Brad Miller

John Lopez

An excellent selection of native plants, exotics, and pottery at reasonable prices.

Bonnie Bollenback

We have been working with Wilcox Nursery and Landscape over the past couple of years, and are very pleased with our yard full of Florida native plants. They used a team approach to initially evaluate our property by looking at the sun, shade, soil and water conditions. They then used their experience and knowledge to draw up formal landscape plans. Now that the planting is done, we are enjoying watching these lovely additions to our landscape bloom and grow!

Troy Lawson

Very knowledgeable!

Kids took me shopping for my mother's day present, and they were closed. Website says they're open, phone says they're open, sign on the font closed and locked door says they're open. Must be out of business. So disappointed.

Mitchell Cutler

I have visited and purchased from your nursery. The staff are very helpful and polite. The evergreen that I purchased did well. Thank you, I will look again to your nursery when it comes time to procure more plants for my property.

My review is regarding Arnie who landscaped a center bed in my front yard. The plants and ground cover Arnie suggested and planted beautifully accent the front of my house. He really listened to what I was trying to do and worked within my budget to create exactly what I was looking for. He added an artisitic touch to what was a plain front landscape. I couldn't be happier with the results.

We had a great experience working with landscape designer Paul Meyers from Wilcox. He understood quickly what we wanted in terms of a low maintenance FL-native design and our esthetic sensibility. He answered questions clearly and proved receptive to changes based on our feedback on plant and color preferences and cost. He responded quickly to text and email communications. And most important, he explained that the key to the ultimate success of our re-landscaping was the post-planting maintenance; we are working with the Wilcox maintenance team in these early stages.
