The staff at the desk is nice enough, but the guy that runs it is a crook, straight up. Like another reviewer commented, he hung up on me when I called him out. Do not buy your firewood here. It's super expensive, and I have gotten green wood a couple times.

Like anyone else, Fred Jr. Is trying to run a business and sometimes has allot on his plate, and there are more then 3 Fred's working their, Fred sr. and Fred Jr. Who is the owner, so don't pass judgment on what you don't know, you may have gotten two different Fred's during one call to the next so if you called him out then you may have gotten the wrong Fred and he had no clue what you were calling him out about. I've known the Layaous for some time now and they are really nice people and decent so give them a brake and a chance to correct what ever it is you have a complaint about. As for people who complain about the multch, some other companies that are supposed to check-in before they dump their wood debris to be mulched don't check in like their asked to and dump stuff that their not supposed to and it gets into the tub grinder, so don't criticize, this problem is being remedied by keeping the gates closed now for the majority of the time and dumpping tree debris is being restricted to calling ahead before you come or you will be turned away if no one is available to inspect their load because apparently other companies can't be trusted as before.

found an advertisement for firewood online. I called the number given and the advertised price was verbally confirmed as to what was being advertised online. The person on the other end of the phone verbally represented Layaou Landscaping and said that his name was FRED. I arranged to have the wood delivered a week later. On the day the wood was supposed to be delivered, non arrived. I called FRED at Layaou Landscaping and asked if the wood would be arriving shortly. He expressed his apologies and gave me a phone number to the main office of Layaou Landscaping. I called the office number and spoke to another man who called himself FRED. In describing my dilemma and the price I was given He explained that the wood would be almost three times the price and that the price I was promised must have been a mistake. When I asked what could be done to help solve my dilemma of no wood or to pay for wood and a much higher rate he exclaimed he could do nothing different in price. He became very harsh and sharp in his speaking and ultimately hung up on me while I was speaking with him. This appears to me to be a classic bait and switch business. Customers may be surprised just like me when the wood is actually delivered and they are charged a higher rate for the product they were promised.

So as of right now I'm only going to post regarding 1 property out of 2 however I also have a rental property that's just as bad that we live in . I came to Judy in Oct of 2017 looking for a rental for my dog business. I had moved in and right away noticed issues now let me stop and let you know this is a dog FACILITY anything withing the first few weeks of moving in I had given them 9000.00 just upfront for rent follow all their rules never have had a complaint then they call the pound on me because they move renters upstairs that dont want to hear dogs bark not only the pound but the cops now this is supposed to be my landlord and I am a fully licensed dog FACILITY dogs barking a million times a day it's what they do .when moving in I noticed right away hidden black mold rust on water tanks black mold in the roof no dryer ventilation floors are buckled and just disgusting under and they will not infect fix nothing instead they called the pound again and made again false reports . I highly recommend running from anything they offer . Now my home they yet again took a chunk of money and come to find out the were so broke they could not afford a cabinet there son stole our stuff while moving in our basement is covered in mold from septic issues and after taking my money my house was found to be under sheriff sale. When confronting them he slammed his hand on the counter screaming get the f out of my building mind you I am a female then he tryed running me over I have this all recorded as well as all the stolen property he has on his property...this is just a start next I'll be taking them to court but I would have loved the opportunity to known this bec up and moving my business and home under a crock

i worked for them for a week, my first day on the job i went to the E.R for heat stroke it was the worst ended up costing me 2,000 in bills. i quit because fred only cares about himself. he sent me a W-2 at the end of this year for 105.00 . and i never received that money. i went to claim it last week and they said theyll "call me" never did. cant wait to see him in person again

Worst "seasoned wood" ever. Called and got a delivery for 1 cord "seasoned" mixed wood. Wood seems like it was just cut and very green.

Wish I could do 0 stars. The sheer ignorance and lack of professionalism is outrageous. I cannot say Im completely surprised as he reeked of alcohol and his attitude alone are CLEAR warning signs. He is not fit to run a business or deal with customers.

Morons hauling wood at Christiana Mall had no tarp over the load of wood and it was falling out the back. INCREDIBLY dangerous. No regard for safety. I can only assume their work is as bad as their preparation.

this guy is a crook ! he had me deliver 1260 reclaimed brick to his business with prior knowledge i was to be paid in full cash upon my arrival. He did pay me cash but shorted me $100 with the promise he would be making weekly future oe rders of bricks and would pay me the balance owed on my next delivery. I made my second delivery od 1360 bricks and it took over 2 weeks to collect half my money, he refuses to pay me the $500 he continues to owe me for bricks i delivered to him. I should have known better to do business with him when his employees told me this guy was a loser.
