The raised garden they build is OK, but I'm afraid it will take out the rear fence of the property, and 75% of the plants they installed have now died - even the ones used as replacement. The boulder wall looked beautiful at first, then it broke my fence and Shelly's blamed my tree. Where it broke, it was not the case, but don't think they'll actually come out and look. Three other landscaping companies confirmed it wasn't the tree, but the wall that used the fence as a brace. Flagstone pathway is cracking apart. Last year I paid $3K to have another landscaping company fix their damage. Update: Just realized the plant they told me was Lavender, is actually MINT. How do you mess this up?

Selection is okay but they over price beat up plants and will not budge saying it will recover. I'm my experience damage to a plant is a factor, I have over 100 houseplants and their prices are the highest I've seen anywhere. My girlfriend unknowingly paid $60 for an aloe that I bought one for $15 a week later that was exact same size, shape, species, and condition. I also wanted a succulent that In order to get they ripped out and sold with no dirt just bare roots and charged my for the tiny little pot. If a succulent is sold it should least have the plug but this was literal roots I'm amazed it took at home but they still didn't budge on price. I have never received bad service though I am reading this simply because your dollars will go much further at other nurseries. I highly recommend paulinos gardens they work with you on price if quality or damage is an issue and are a better bang for your buck

We bought 4 shrubs from the each was 29.99. They told us it comes with one year warranty, after couple month the shrubs start dying. We brought the sample and ask them if they can switch them for us, she start telling a bunch of BS and apparently didn't replace them. We had to trash them. Not recommending this place they r super expensive and there is now warranty.

overpriced and extremely rude and most of the people don't know anything about the plants or flowers. I live right around the corner, but will drive to another nursery for every garden and flower need. Shelly the owner doesn't know how to run a business!

July 24, 2019: I wanted to add a P.S. Thanks Shelly for the apology and invitation to come back after the negative visit I experienced below. I had a much better experience the 2nd visit and appreciated the $20.00 toward some more plants. Again, thank you. My first visit here was so disappointing. As I am checking out, the credit card terminal was locked in a “transaction denied” message apparently from the previous transaction. I brought this to the cashier’s attention 4 times as she was ringing up my order but she ignored me. After she had rung up my $143.00 worth of small plants, and could not get the transaction to process, she finally paid attention and got her manager. They decided they had to ring it all up again on a different register. This time the total was $160.00. When I questioned this discrepancy they rang it up again and it was now $164.00. When I expressed shock at the increasing price, the manager said with what can only be described as a snarl, “well, do you want me to ring it up again!?!” Looking at my by this time overhandled, bedraggled plants I decided to cut my losses and pay the ever increasing bill. No apology, no offer to give me the $20.00 difference for my trouble. But wait, there’s more! As I was leaving I saw the same cashier ringing up some one else on the faulty terminal, still stuck in, “transaction denied!” Hmmmm....Summary: Nice plants. Terrible service and poor reaction when their error was discovered. Buyer beware.

I love to garden shop at Shelly's. There is always a variety of plants/trees/shrubs to choose from inside and outside. They carry pots, soil, decorations - anything garden related. The staff is very knowledgeable when I've needed them. The only drawbacks are parking on busy days and getting out on to 120th can sometimes be difficult. I don't let that stop me.

Agree with others' reviews as far as prices being a bit steep when it comes to low-quality or damaged plants. Staff is friendly and some are helpful. Overall, if they had something I couldn't find anywhere else, that'd be the only reason I'd go back.

Daniel was great to work with and helped us find the right plants for our patio. He was knowledgeable of spacing, climate, and watering needs. I didn't sense any sort of stress or challenge with the staff and they treated me well.

I went in trying to get some info and this crazy lady with no teeth just basically attached us for asking her a few simple questions, I work in sales too and I don’t understand how people like this can stay in business! I guarantee you she’s on drugs .

I have mixed feelings about this place. The prices on certain trees are unbeatable but the customer service is mixed. Feel like i was treated like a criminal when i was looking around a couple of times... ive never had that happen at the big box stores...so i guess dont feel free to walk around looking at trees unless you hunt down an employee first to walk by your side. But again unmatched prices on some trees so i may higher or lower this rating as i return depending.

The staff is good and they will answer most questions you have about plants. They may not have many employees so it may take some time to get your turn. However, when it's your turn you will not be made to hurry. The plant selection is good. They are not a huge nursery but have most of what you would need. I haven't had any issues with the bushes and plants I have gotten so far.

Mediocre plants for 4 times the cost of anywhere else. You can find better looking plants at Home Depot or O'Toole's nursery that are actually priced well. Was ignored the entire time I was there. Won't be returning.

Terrible. They have limited inventory and NEVER help you nor want to. It's uncomfortable walking in to this place because there aren't other customers and the staff stands around staring at you without offering to help. Odd. Very very odd.

In June 2013 I paid Shelly's Garden Country about $400 to plant a nice sized aspen tree in my back yard to help block the view of recently built 3 story condos behind us. It was a lot of money (our neighbors paid about $100 to get a similar one from Home Depot) but I was really bust at work and it came with a five-year unconditional warranty. By fall of 2014 it was looking pretty sick. Spring of 2105 it was worse and when I showed them pics they said it would probably come out of it. Fall of 2015 I insisted they came look at it and they agreed they it needed to be replaced... but didn't have any. They said they would special order one for spring of 2016 and plant it in April. In May 2016 they said they didn't have any trees available. After 2 more visits, I actually met with Shelly... I felt that she was rude, inflexible and I felt bullied by her. Bottom line I am using an arborist to try to treat the tree to see if it can be saved. I will never go to Shelly's again! By the way the neighbor's home depot tree looks great and is over twice the size of my poor sick tree. Hope this review helps you make good decisions.

Love this place. Very few times do I walk into a business and automatically feel at home. They have an enormous selection of plants, gardening tools, and decorations, and they just built an absolutely gorgeous section of gifts and jewelry! Anytime I walk in, I always have an employee greet me and ask what they can help me with. And they have the most knowledgeable staff I've ever met. Pam, Shelly, Daniel, and Tracy can all help you find what you're looking for, and they treat you like family.

Horrible!! I was treated like a criminal today by Pam...About 3 weeks ago I spent almost $300 on flowers and I purchased one $40 plant that died off so I called this morning to ask of their refund policy and I was told to bring it in with my receipt so when I walked in , I was explaining to Pam and she immediately said " we do not give refunds on these plants PERIOD" !! Then she had another guy inspected the plant for a long time while the other cashiers and customers stood there !! Finally they decided to let me trade for the same plant but they all looked bad so I asked if I could pick out something else and she said " you are not getting a cash refund " !! Wow I was so embarrassed and felt like I was doing something wrong !! I was finally able to pick out a nice healthy looking plant and go my way but it was a very bad experience and will not ever return to this store ever again !! Maybe Shelly should read these reviews !!!!

I came in here looking for supplies to make a cute centerpiece for my dining room table. We were greeted when we first walked in but were left alone to roam around thereafter. I wasn't too fond of their selection or prices so we went to Hilltop Gardens where they had a great selection of plants, reasonable prices, and continously checked on us helping us pick the perfect plants for our home.

What an awesome experience at this garden shop! I had so much fun picking out succulents and pots today with the nicest lady, come to find out it was the owner Shelly! I had a general idea of what I wanted to do, and she had some great ideas on pots and plant pairings. I told her my budget, and she helped me adjust my plant sizes to make it work. When she noticed I wasn't sure what to do, she asked about my decor and made recommendations on colors. She helped me pick just the right things for my tastes. Very very friendly and helpful. It's obvious she genuinely loves what she does and loves working with people. And damn she knows her plants! Good luck finding a plant in that shop she can't tell you all about at the drop of a hat! Thank you so much for all of the ideas and advice Shelly! You made my day!

Prices are reasonable for veggies and some of their flowers however their customer service is terrible! Not with the customers but with each other they are irritable, short and rude to each other, which makes the staff unapproachable. I understand it's hot working in a green house and that can make anyone cranky so dress for the heat, come to work prepared and put smiles on your faces and if there's an issue with staff amongst themselves take it to the break room but don't deal with it around paying customers

I must say I was disappointed with my first trip here. I purchased some herbs, a couple indoor plants and pots to put them in. The cashier placed all my plants and the pots in a shallow box, which I placed on the floor in the back of my car. When we got home (about 10 miles away) one of the pots was completely shattered. I called Shelly's right away to ask if they would be able to exchange it and I was told that unless it broke on their property, I was out of luck. To me, this is very poor customer service. If I had dropped it or handled it roughly I could understand not allowing a return but I honestly believe there was a crack or something for it to have broken so easily. I definitely won't be back to shop here.

I am an avid gardener. I was coming home from lunch with my folks and I happened to catch a glimpse as I sped by....U-TURN! I had to visit this spot! Oh! I am so glad I did.! I easily spent over $100.00! Everything I needed for my upcoming season indoor/greenhouse/outdoor! Shelley is who checked me out-noticed the items I was buying and commented that I was one of them! You better believe it sister! My garden is up and running and I've moved all my houseplants out in the yard also....Its going to be so beautiful & lush. I will send pix soon as the shock of moving has worn off.....I appreciate being recognized by a fellow gardener. I am very serious about my plants. They are my best pals somedays, always my babies....they each are named and I have quite an extensive collection! I could go on & on....Shelley's is a place I trust for advice & good product. I relied on the word from the friendly, educated staff and they know what time it is! Finally!! Somewhere I can go that truly understand plants on a level that is a bit more profound than the average franchised stores/nursery! Thanks!

I brought my daughter here for the Fairy Garden workshop I saw in the Denver Post as a fun thing to do together. We were bummed to discover that what we thought was a hands on class, was actually us picking out 2 items and 2 plants and telling a worker where to plant them in our bowl. The selection of items to choose from for our garden was small and disappointing. They have a big fairy garden on display but none of the cool items in theirs are for sale. They also had Christian music blaring which was unappealing to me. Altogether it cost me almost $40 and it was quite disappointing. We won't be returning.

Staff that knows botany. You can ask about species and cultivars. They know their plants. Not just a nursery full of noids (No-ID)!
