REVIEWS OF City Floral Garden Center IN Colorado

Michelle Kaufman

Great local nursery with a large selection of annuals and perennials.

Pete Freeman

Great place. Huge selection. Plants different from your everyday garden center

Jess Hadfield

Very grateful to the fantastic staff and management for all their help during my visit a few weeks ago. All my relatives love this place.

Trek Lucero

Susie Wiberg

I started shopping at City Floral with my mom when I was a little kid....I continue to love the selection, helpful and friendly staff and overall beauty of the store...I highly recommend City Floral to anyone who loves plants and flowers!

Joseph Carter

Craig Shein

Great selection, atmosphere and knowledgeable staff. The only downside are the prices, tad expensive.

Donna Davies

Ara Darakjian

Great selection of plants, flowers, vegetables, knowledgeable staff, one of the best garden centers in Denver.

Claire Leonard

I really enjoyed the selection and I’d much rather buy plants at a local nursery than Lowe’s or Home Depot. However, I bought 3 very different house plants here, asked lots of questions about care and I was enormously careful with them. They all died within 2 months. I haven’t had that experience with plants from other nurseries and it was especially odd because they were all so unique - a spider plant, a ficus and a fern. I would shop here again but I would definitely bring the plants back within the 30 day window if I had the same experience.

Benjamin Rangel

susan lindsey

Regrettable experience where significant quantity of rare, high value plants died within two weeks and I was unable to exchange them or return them. I was dealt with didactically, abruptly, just inappropriate customer service. Held my mouth. Love supporting small biz but will seek out alternative place to shop.

Nick Otto

In my opinion, the best place for houseplants in all of Denver. Their massive selection combined with their location.. Awesome.

Richard Brown

Excellent resource in the city. They are friendly and very helpful and have a great selection. They need to employ their members program more actively with discounts, etc. for frequent customers. Sometimes the clearks never ask if you are a member or not when checking out. But all in all, a delightful place to shop.

Jim Chesebro

Go before the crowds during the Spring. But good selection.

Rob Tritschler

Alexander Michaud

We’ve been here three times in the past week because it’s so awesome. Finally picked up my trees today and they look great. Tom was incredibly helpful and took a lot of his time to teach me everything I needed to know, leaving me feeling comfortable with the process. Additionally, another nice young gentleman gave my son a quarter so he could get a snack from the machine. They were so kind to our family. Thank you!

Randall Edick

If you're looking for great advice on the right plant for a specific place it's the place to go. Greater variety of plants then you'll find at Home Depot or Lowes The little extra charge is well worth it, you'll have the plant for a long time. We've been getting help from Marisa Flowers for years now and highly recommend her.

April Manter

Seriously disappointed in a floral gift basket I received, apparently called a blooming basket. Called the store with my concerns only to receive a brush-off from the employee I spoke to. Received the basket 1/20, plant dead on 1/22. Did not requie water. I am sure thus was an expensive gift. Do not order flowers from City Floral. I have shopped here since 1980 and you lost my business. Shame I have to resort to social media

Kara Jostes

City Floral is my favorite garden center in Denver! They worked with me on my floral decorations for my wedding. They were super helpful, met our deadlines, and everything looked great! Best of all, they were able to work well within my budget.

Liliana Chacon-Arballo

An awesome variety! I was there yesterday and couldn't make up my mind on which ones I wanted! (My pockets were very scared! Ha!) The only improvement would be the succulents. As a succulent lover & collector, it makes me super sad to see so many (overpriced) succulents so mistreated & leggy.

Karen W

I'm surprised to read that others have had good customer service here. I've been many times and have experienced the opposite. Every time I ask a staff person a question, they seem extremely annoyed. Maybe it's because I usually have small children with me (who have always behaved well)? I keep going back because there is a good selection, especially of shade plants. I'm so sick of the staff though, that I'm going to start driving further from home for better service.

Mark Mccurdy

Tons of plants all at fair prices! Garden decor, mulch, containers, plant food, and garden tools, this place is a cool destination for the avid gardener.

Gail Capoccetta

Loved it. Awesome for plant lovers like myself. You have to visit this place. Huge selection of indoor and outdoor plants

James Keenan

If your wanting cheap but amazing fresh cut flowers! Check this place out! Always an amazing selection!

David Saxon

An amazing garden center that also carries things like trellises, pots, fertilizer, and flower and grass seed. They have very affordable prices compared to other greenhouses and garden centers across the Denver metro area. There is also a nice selection of other knick knacks, toys for kids and things like goofy socks and decorative items for home and garden. Plus a couple of friendly cats. Certainly a nice kept secret right off Colfax!

Kate Havekost

The well dressed adventurer .

I bought 6 plants here and they all ended up being infested with spider mites and ended up dieing. Half of everything in their store is dead and if you look closely you can find one thing or another (like spider mites or Millie bugs) on any of their leafy plants. I don't like being negative and I am sorry but people need to know.

Alex Brown

Great variety and knowledgeable staff makes this garden center the best!

Randy Kilbourn

Great selection, but very pricey and VERY inaccessible for someone in a wheelchair!

Jennifer Vogler

There's a reason why their plants are a little more expensive. Happy to pay for the quality and expertise of employees! My plants from City Floral have thrived compared to the lower price options at places like Lowes/Home Depot.

Mike Killion

Great selection and solid knowledge by the staff. But the prices seem high and the aisles are incredibly narrow.

marmee colfer

Excellent products and service staff. Have shopped here since mid 1980s.

Linda Perkin

Usually love this place. Great unique gift area and plants are always beautiful and healthy. Bad experience today due to staff unavailable or too busy in social conversation with eachother to get help with questions and location of items.

Melissa Simmoma

Excellent staff, very knowledgeable. Got 2 very big trees which were decently priced compared to other nurseries. Gave me a deal on delivery.

Kristin Barley

Hands down one of the best garden centers in Denver. Yes, prices might be higher but what you get for that is quality plants, excellent advice and service, and knowing you're buying local.

Christine Ford

Sure a bit more expensive, but variety & selection is the best, plants generally healthier and more robust, and clerks are highly knowledgeable. No one at Home Depot has a clue what their selling.

Carmen Semenik

Bev Whitley

So much to see and so much to dream about this time of year

Victoria Nishball

If you look closely you’ll see that half the plants are sickly. Not to mention their prices are much higher than many other garden centers in the area. Honestly Home Depot and Lowe’s have healthier plants than this place.

Gina Jannone

The Green Eyed Monster

Large selection of plants, pots, and all gardening supplies. Pots are a bit overpriced, plants are priced right.

Bryce Laird

Best garden center in Denver

Laura Fast

City Floral has the best selection and the most knowledgeable and informative staff I have ever experienced at a Garden Center. Their prices are more than fair. You can find everything you would expect at a Garden Center, and then a lot of the unexpected - something for yourself, a housewarming gift, wedding present, and unusual orchids, bulbs and seeds. Not to mention live chicks and baby ducks ! Well worth a visit, any time of the year, to brighten your day and find something you need, or something you didn't know you needed !

Nick Riddle

Kyle Clark

What an amazing shop! It feels like it goes for miles once you get inside. I find new cool stuff every visit!

Alexandra K

City Floral is a beautiful garden center having an enormous variety of plants, accessories, and a lovely gift section. The customer service does leave something to be desired so at times, I've avoided going there for that very reason. Last holiday season, they had a table of items marked 20% off so I bought several of the same thing along with a variety of other things. The cashier charged me for only one of the sale items. I noticed this when I was going over receipts so the next time I was there, I brought my receipt and told them I was happy to pay what I owed. Whoever was in charge was called over to help handle this. I was shocked that she wouldn't give me the 20% off I would've paid that day. This beautiful store needs to reconsider management and customer relations.

Jeff Davis

Great selection.

Eden Chiles

Margaret Brown

I have shopped at City Floral for years and in the last 5 or so, the customer service and condition of product is really awful--it looks like a dump and staff always seems "put upon" if you ask them for any help. It is crowded with plant material that is often dry and finding someone to help you is a huge challenge. They also don't mark much of their inventory which makes it even more of a shopping challenge because you can't find anyone to help find the price of something! Money would be better spent at Echter's or Paulino's where they have really good looking and healthy looking plant material and great customer service. I can't figure out how City Floral makes it since the new ownership took over! I go for my Christmas trees--they are the only thing that is really good!

This place is the best. Amazing selection, staff. Even with it's urban location we were so surprised by their variety of products and very happy/healthy plants. They even sell some local ciders and honey. We will definitely be visiting a lot as we landscape. My favorite was their large selection of indoor fruiting plants including Meyer lemon, key lime, naval orange, mango, avocado, fig, olive, and grapefruit. We bought a combination Meyer lemon and key lime grafted onto a dwarf plant. Best of all their prices are generally very competitive, and from what we have seen better then other area nurseries.

brianna archibong

Alot of unique house plants that you dont commonly see. Unfortunately the ones that I was most interested in. Alocasia tiny dancer, all had very bad mealy bug infestations. The small was $20 so I asked if I could by them at a discount and try to save it at home. They told me no, and that they rather not sell them at all. They said they would spray them and try to sell them still for full price. I get it, pests are inevitable when you have so many to care for. They had a few others that were on my wish list but they didnt have any smaller versions, only very large established plants that I can not easily transport home with me. Overall they did have a great selection. It's worth checking in and checking out for sure if you have a unique houseplant wishlist. Side note: I spoke to the gentleman within the 1st 15min of being in the nursery on a slow Monday morning. Once I said they all were severely infested and showed him, he did not remove them from the sales floor, nor did he spray them within the next hour and a half I was there shopping. I'm sure they will eventually get to spraying them, but my perception that is my reality as a customer. It seemed like they were gonna leave it out for a not so keen shopper and sell them anyway. If he at least sprayed them the MANY times I saw him in the area it would at least looked as if they took action and was not trying to sell damaged products to not so savvy plant shoppers. This is a really nice nursery and quality customer service and employees that really care would make this place unmatched.

Bethany King

Kelsey Sailsbery

I spent hours in this place just looking at all of the awesome unique plants. All the plants seemed healthy and we'll taken care of

LEE MILES

I love the selection and wanted to support our local community business but I was honestly disappointed when all of the of plants ( nearly $400 worth) died. I took care to follow instructions for each plants needs. I could understand maybe 1 or 2 plants not making it but all 8 of them are history. ;( On a side note, all of the plants I purchased from Home Depot and Lowe's are doing great!

Heatha Laducer

Lovely place with a lot of variety. Just bought 4 great indoor plants and cant wait to get more. Please consider labeling your pet-friendly plants. I spend a lot time googling while im on there trying to determine which plants are safe to have around my cat.

AJ Joiner

Danny McCarthy

Super helpful staff with everything you may need for any gardening project.

Lucy McGuffey

Extensive array of beautiful and healthy plants, variety of gifts, and helpful staff!

Joe Megeath

My sweetheart picked out two potted plants which I bought for Valentine's Day Great personal service

Janellen Dorothyr

I've used City Floral Garden Center several times and each time I've always gotten more than expected.. Daniel puts nothing but quality into each arrangement that he's done for me and I don't see going elsewhere for flowers.

Benjamin Blackmer

This place is amazing.

Karen Murray

Brandi Murphy

just discovered this place and I cannot wait to make another trip down there! It is a lovely experience to walk up and down their aisles of greenery, rows and rows of leaves and vines. Great cactus area. Awesome terrarium section. Denver is lucky to have this gem!

Steve Replogle

City Floral is an entertaining and enticing center-of-town Xanadu, a maze-filled, indoor/outdoor amusement park for vegetation and plant life. But here's the very best part... City Floral has its OWN BRAND of soda pop! Cool, right? I don’t know of any other garden center that can say the same.

Annie Clontz

Christene Waddle

Love that place!!

Scott Williams

So cute, with a huge variety of plants and also interesting gifts

Dominic Zarlengo

This Park Hill icon is, hands down, the best nursery I've ever been to. It's huge and right in town! Great selection, super helpful and abundantly available staff round out a trip to the plant store I alway look forward to. Oh, and the gift shop is not to be missed.

Charley Haddox

Really glad there is a beautiful well stocked nursery in this neighborhood.

Susan Davis

I love this place so much! I have spent hours in here browsing their selection, it's like a fun and beautiful maze. Most of the staff is very helpful (though occasionally some of the seasonal staff are not--you just have to ask the next person until you get the right help). I could easily spend my entire paycheck here.

Geoff Manning

The best florist in town!

Jacob Logan

It's completely amazing. The depth of their selection is outstanding and exceeded my hopes by far. Everything is beautifully arranged and the atmosphere felt warm. I need to go back.

Elizabeth Clark

They have very nice plants

Les Eben

Plants were very dry and not healty? Not up to City Floral standards

Joel Byersdorfer

Greg Messinger

Charged me $400 for leaf removal($200 for disposal fee and $200 for leaf collection). Have a small congress park square with a tiny yard. I recommend another service if you don't want to be overcharged. Another service I contracted with charged me $131 for the same service.

Eunice Kwon

I never post reviews, but I’m absolutely furious. I said to the sales associate that the only requirement I had was that I needed to buy plants that were non-toxic to cats. Turns out, out of the three plants I bought, TWO are considered toxic by ASPCA. The sales associate misinformed me AND the labels were wrong. Please go somewhere where they actually know what they are talking about.

A Google User

Watch your receipts here!!!! I recently chose to purchase 8 small plants which at the display point were labelled 6.99/ 4 pack. At the cash register they rang up at $26 and change. When I questioned the amount, an extremely rude and abrupt sales person by the name of Lulu told me to accompany her back to the display to check the price. When she saw the sign she said..."oh a customer must have moved it there - they do that all the time" Nice - blame it on your customer! Ok so back I go to the cash register and a 2nd clerk rings up my 8 small plants at $32 and change!! What's going on at this place?!! I asked to speak to the manager and learned that 2nd clerk neglected to ring up at discounted price. Very poor and rude customer service !

claire bovet

Awesome selection, friendly employees, fair prices.

Shani Poleg

Don Seese

Great place for house plants

Jennifer Rubino

Tallon VanNoy

Their selection is gorgeous and quite sizable. I'm happy with everything I bought. I had some questions regarding succulents and couldn't find anyone to help me. They were pretty busy, though so I guess I understand. But it's been like that every time I've come here. Maybe they just need to hire more people? In the mean time, I'd only recommend this place to those who know what they need and don't have questions. Their items seem higher priced than home Depot, but they aren't using harmful bee killing pesticides like home Depot does, so I guess I'm willing to shell out a few extra bucks.

George Anschutz

Over the top. Amazing in every way.

john allen

I REALLY like shopping here the flowers are GREAT large selections the staff is a GREAT help and friendly

Sean Estle

Amazing selection of plants and plant supplies with great prices. Every employee we encountered offered assistance.

kaaren Akin

Absolutely fabulous!

ariel perplexetic

David Renner

Go here instead of the big box stores. 'Denver appropriate' plants and a friendly, available staff are just two reasons. I found Craig in the perennial dept. especially helpful.

Paul Kamber

Much better experience this time. Hadn't been in for quite awhile. Great staff make a difference.

Carolyn Powell

Amazing selection and superb customer service.

Pamela Quigley

I need some plastic pots to transplant some seedlings, so I asked if they had any recycled pots, knowing customers bring them back for recycling. I was told that pots are thrown out, but I was certainly welcome to buy some. They would rather throw away pots (and a customer, as I had things in my hand to purchase) than keep trash out of landfills and help a girl out. Spend your money elsewhere, folks.

Susan Ferguson

Love plants, love City Floral, love all the variety.

Mandy Caird

Love this local garden store

Ryan Van Valkenburg

In a nice neighborhood but the plants are pretty overpriced. The bonsai arrangements are pretty silly looking and far too expensive. Great if you're looking for Christmas stuff I guess

Stacey O'Donnell

Best place to get plants

Joseph Zimmerman

You'll get a lot of attitude from cashiers along with their overpriced arrangements.

Jason Evans

Knowledgeable staff and wonderful quality. City Floral is a real gardening store. They genuinely care, and there is no comparison to the quality and health of their plants versus places like Home Depot.

Renee Harper

I just left. The store had no customers. I passed by at least 5 employees. Not one of them looked at me in the eye, greeted me, or asked if they could help me. Pretty pathetic. I'm a firm believer and supporting local businesses, but not this one.

Dorothy Todd

I've tried to reach them by phone to ask a simple question. No answer and, when directed to leave a message, all I got was a message saying the message box is full. I've had fairly good shopping experiences there, but I'm not making a trip just to ask a question.

Valerie R

Great selection.

Therese Meggitt

Yes it’s more expensive but we don’t care. As neighbors that have lived here in Parkhill & Montclair etc.. we are so happy to have this City Floral & it’s wonderful garden store. It’s the best and it’s convenient for us plus-the best and friendliest staff ever!! Truly has the cutest gift shop around with such adorable things inside there. A great selection of beautiful statues for the garden all kinds of cute stuff. Lovely fun things really-I absolutely love City Floral! Plus, walking in on a rainy day cheers me up it’s like a smaller botanical gardens. Beautiful! It’s not a place to be missed if your a true gardener etc..here in Denver. Sure you can go to some big name brand place like Home Depot but then your missing the whole point. We adore these smaller places to explore that are creative and unique - it’s these businesses that Society shouldn’t do without. Friendly plus it’s community coming together talking relating etc..in our neighborhoods etc..that’s important I feel & many others also.

Anne Vang

The staffs were knowledgeable. I got some very beautiful succulents. I will definitely go back there. They have a very wide variety.

Emily Blinn

Matthew Mahler

Great place to buy flowers. Staff was knowledgeable but not friendly. The selection was fantastic, I will go back if I need more flowers.

ron Heflin

Nice selection, pretty high priced. Customer service is pathetic. They really do seam annoyed if you have a question bordering on rude.

Selina Stratton

Called about a special order on a Thursday, the women on the phone said sh'ed look into placing the order and someone was suppose to call me back. I call the following Monday to follow up, was abruptly told they don't carry the plant and can't special order it. Like she was fully aware of the situation and just decided not to follow up with me. Thanks for the call back! Now I've wasted 5 days thinking you were ordering it for me! If you say you're going to call somebody back, do it. It's just common courtesy when someone is trying to give you their business.

Josh Myers

Peter Salenger

Great selection.

Walter Gill

I don't shop there often, but I like the store and the inventory. Whenever I have questions, I like interacting with the people who work there. The new plant is happy here.

Katie Seitz

Great selection. Pricey. Not very good customer service but Home Depot isn't any better. Convenient to park hill and Mayfair.

Jack Simmons

All plants are very healthy. Many of the varieties here cannot be found anywhere else in Denver. Staff is very knowledgeable. Only problem is I always buy more than I intended.

Daniel Dorritie

Cool place, great variety with holiday sections and garden decor. Plus a life size Sasquatch that comes out of now where. Unexpected laugh and great staff

Giselle C

It's spendy, but there's something for everyone. They have a good selection of succulents.

Nick

Customer service is non-existent. I spent 20-30 minutes examining fountains - kneeling on the ground looking for prices, lifting pieces to test weight etc. I counted over 8 employees that passed right by without acknowledging my presence in any way. When someone finally did approach - it was to tell me that the store was closing and that I needed to make my way out. Went back a couple days later and had basically the same experience. Multiple employees, no eye-contact - no offer of help. If you know what you need and where to find it, I guess you can shop here - but if you are looking for answers or help - go somewhere else.

Y BYRD

I love City Floral! Their staff is always so helpful and always goes above and beyond with customer service. Every spring/summer, I can't wait to see the large variety of tropical plants, desert plants, and everything else! I bought a beautiful cactus from City Floral and due to the winds have had to bring it back a couple of times for repotting. I can't believe how caring and loving they were to my cactus! Thank you all! You're wonderful!

Chris Courtney

Easy Wind

Little pricey, good selection

Alison Mendenhall

AMAZING. Beautiful plants, huge selection, great people. LOVE!!!!

This is a surprisingly large green house and a bit of maze, but it's beautiful everywhere you look. They have a very large selection of plans, souls, and the team members are very helpful. They even sell little chicks during spring and summer. I will definitely be back.

Luke Rothschild

They have EVERYTHING

Vanessa Wainwright

I love this place, their prices are reasonable and they sell a variety of sizes of plants so you can pick one in your price range. However, I was really bummed when I found aphids on my plant days after bringing it home. None of my houseplants have pests, and bringing this plant into my home put all my other plants at risk. Understandably pests like this will be in nurseries, so I always inspect the plants I pick to try and avoid this issue. I guess I didn’t look at this one close enough and thankfully the infestation isn’t too bad so I’ve quarantined the plant and sprayed with neem oil. Knowing this nursery had one plant with aphids tells me all their plants need to be thoroughly inspected by customers before they walk out the door and put their healthy plants at risk. If you’re spending upwards of $100+ on a houseplant, you don’t want it to die from bugs. Be aware and know what you’re purchasing!

Robert Fuell

Love coming here. The prices are a little better than Home Depot’s. The selection is better and the staff have more knowledge than Home Depot will ever have. The plants in my experience have had a better survival rate from City Floral than Home Depot. This place beats prices at anywhere else. Check them out! Love this place!

Stacy Forget

Great selection. Friendly staff. Pricey.

Julie Cohen

Good variety, but very expensive. Much cheaper at Home Depot, Lowes, any grocery store, or really anywhere. Also they only have a 30 day warranty on all plants. I bought two expensive bushes in the fall and by April/May they were dead. Couldn't return them. Most nursery's I've experienced have a 1 year warranty. Staff is good and can assist with questions.

Shalon Bowens

Blair

Jena Butler

This place is amaaaaazing. They have SO many plants in such good condition. Their succulent selection is really great and you can find a lot of types here that are very hard to find! (String of pearls! Lithops! Burro's tails! Every color and type of Sansavieria!) They also have a bunch of very cool pots, though I lament that the very cutest ones didn't have drainage holes for my needy little succulents. Their prices are also really good for the quality and size of plant you get. Highly recommend.

Babs Herrli

Greg Kramer

I live in the neighborhood and like to support local business, but ive been in a few times to browse the outdoor trees and plants and NOBODY has ever asked if they could help me or if i had any questions. I wont be back.

Kristina Nunez

Jeannie Mays

Have been shopoing there 4ever. They are very informative they take their time with you and they just KNOW THINGS about their business.

Jim Heinrich

Such nice people. A young lady named Candace helped me she was so helpful. I look forward to going back soon.

shanna volz

The worst customer service ever. Some lady that worked there followed me around the store and bothered me like I was going to steal. I wanted to put back the stuff I was going to purchase. I will never return. So disappointing.

Isetta Crawford Rawls

Mind-blowing variety, all beautiful and well-tended. I bought five vegetables instead of the two I had in mind, and they cost less.

Melinda Mott

A great variety and tastey soda! A great gem in the city!

Kevin Kennedy

Unbelievably expensive. An impressive array, but $6 seems a lot for a 3 1/2" perennial 2" tall.

Scott Hicken

A previous review said "I counted over 8 employees that passed right by without acknowledging my presence in any way" and that was my experience entirely. I was clearly lost trying to figure things out and no one cared to help me or even speak with me, and when I asked them questions directly no one spoke with me for more than 5 seconds. they would give me a very short one sentence answer to the question I asked and then walk away as if it was solved, never once actually engaging with me as a customer to make sure I understood what they were talking about and got what I needed

Ashley Fonville

My happy place

Chris Holen

Great variety year round. Reasonable prices.

xzknsdvkafgna lkgnae;lknf

Im new to gardening- ive always bought my stuff from home depot but i wanted to see the different variety that a garden center had. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable about everything i asked. She even helped me pick out ground coverage /flowery bushes that would go well with my hibiscus tree i wanted. Turns out every plant i wanted for my yard wasnt going to work for the amount of sun i was getting. I spend about 30 min walking around before anyone asked me if i needed anything but i actually prefer it that way. Their selection for annuals is amazing! The section of perinnials much smaller so i was a little dissapointed for that . The pricing was a shock to me i bought 5 medium peonies and it was 280$ and i still need 5 more plants to finish my boarder along my back yard. I gave it a 4 stsr simply because it was nice to have my questions answered and i loved the annuals. But the reason i went there was for perinnials and it was out of my price range.

Ashley Taylor

Robert Bogan

Okay for plants, not so great as neighbors. Some of the employees here can be pretty disrespectful to the neighborhood. In the early morning (6-7 AM), they regularly slam pallets around making a lot of noise for no reason. And someone, I assume it's also employees, keeps setting off ilegal fireworks (the BIG mortar ones) from their parking lot. One of these days their greenhouse (or my apartment) could catche on fire from a stray ember... I wish they would do something about it.
