We used these guys for over year and overall our experience was poor. I could cite lots of examples but in general the workmanship was poor. The owner could never make a deadline or appointment and always seemed to busy. For our home, they were not the right fit.

(See UPDATE that follows) Our front yard was mostly dirt and tree roots. Hermanos Flores helped with landscape design, and completed installation of plants, planter boxes, and a drip irrigation system in a timely and professional manner. Extremely pleased with the final outcome (as are neighbors). The quality of the work was first rate. UPDATE 10/18/19 At this point, sadly (and expensively), we are cautious to recommend Hermanos Flores Gardening. Installation was gorgeous. We promptly paid more $10,000 (after several more thousand to other companies, to clear out 5 mature birch trees lost to the drought). Our yard led to at least one other big job for Hermanos Flores Gardening in our neighborhood. They have similar problems, albeit fewer because their yard is shaded. What we sadly discovered is that Alex has no concern for problems post-installation. Only after repeated complaints will he follow through. Our backyard was without water for a month, for example, until he finally took the time to find a large underground leak in the new irrigation system. Then front yard landscape plants started to die, irrigation problems (large and small) manifested, 4 foot weeds started snaking out from under the weed barrier fabric (and nutsedge sprouted right through -- I continued to heavily weed), and an organic walnut tree sapling was improperly removed so that there is now a healthy tree growing where it shouldn't be (the greenest plant in our photos, sadly). Irrigation zones were mixed up, so that our planter boxes kept flooding, headed for dry rot, and the decomposed granite darkened with algae. Alex was called multiple times. When I finally discovered this as the problem, he ignored it. Instead, Alex proposed work at the cost of another $2,000 for "fixes" that were no longer needed (once I rectified the zones), AND the cost of replacement plants -- plants that, he admitted, were not suitable for the Davis heat or soil. Alex knew the plants that thrived in Sacramento. We trusted a landscaper to have this information, if not research it. (Space is limited; you can read more on Yelp.)

Alex is a good guy, he is a hard worker he puts in allot of hours to make your yard look good. I highly recommend him to do your yard. He on top of his work.

Extensive yard cleanup including dead heading +100 feet of ~15 foot tall oleander hedge, removing ~20 feet of box hedge, 4 large lawn grass areas, removing dead plants from 14 large raised beds and hauling away all the debris. Alex agreed to come to my home 45 minutes from his usual service area to discuss the job and to provide an estimate. He arrived promptly and we walked around my yard going over all the areas that required clean up. He provided a verbal estimate and we agreed to the job for a few weeks out. Alex and his team called me when he was on his way to my home the morning of our appointment. He arrived on time with his crew of five men. We walked through the areas again briefly and then they got started. The team completed the job in 4.5 hours and they really exceeded my expectations. All clean up areas were perfect and the job was done in such a quick fashion. I am very happy with the work done and will be a repeat customer.

We consulted Hermanos Flores Gardening for a yard drainage problem, and to add rock to several ground areas. At the initial consult Alex evaluated issue and gave us several options to address it within our budget. The a detailed estimate was very reasonable for the work to be done.He and his crew arrived on time and worked diligently to complete the project. They showed up on time, did exactly what we hired them for, they left our place spotless. Alex also took great care to match our existing stones. We are very pleased with the final results. The drainage system works great and landscape is perfect. Alex also returned a few days later by appointment , and patiently addressed a few more questions we had. He is very knowledgeable Highly recommended. Professional, experienced, courteous ,hard working and dependable. Will use them again!

Alex did a great job. I had a design plan and he implemented it to perfection. Like he says, he's not the most expensive but not the cheapest either and he knows what he is doing. Showed up on time and always left the job site clean. I would hire him again.

Hermanos Flores referred me to their cousin, Fernando Martinez, as I live in Natomas. Fernando does a fantastic job - worth every penny. I wish I had hired him two years ago! So far, he has removed small trees, trimmed bushes, removed ivy, cut grass, trimmed edges and removed leaves and debris. My yard has never looked better, and the cost is reasonable. I highly recommend.
