Fun to visit. Many varieties and very good information.

John TenEyck

Beautiful plants, pots and sculptures. Also see friendly helpful staff.

Jeff polley

Very helpful, answered a lot of questions

Huge variety of plants, trees, shrubs, pottery etc but if you gave questions, hard to find someone to help. Plants are higher priced than big box stores and the quality isn't any better for what you get. Noticed they have been adding alot of things like landscaping and metal work but talk about ridiculous pricing.

Very disappointed. I expected much better service with a local nursery. There is a clear problem with their customer service and leadership. We had previously visited our 1st time a month ago to survey their inventory. One younger lady "somewhat" helped us with a few questions but seemed bothered by us (no smile, no helpful attitude, no customer service). Perhaps she was having an off day and that's fine, we all have them. Returned a few weeks later to purchase a 3 shrubs. One gentleman asked if we needed help, he had a smile and welcoming attitude (kudos to him) but at that moment we did not need help. We picked up our plants, went to check out and 2 employees were at checkout (1 girl was the same girl who I mentioned previously) I asked if we needed soil to plant these and what kind. (This should of been a clue that we do not know much about plants) one lady mumbled an answer of the brand name of soil (as if we know all the brand names) I had to ask 3 times what kind of soil because she kept mumbling to her coworker for assurance and finally the other girl said its a composte and they offered some "around the corner'. (Again, as if I go there all the time and know where 'around the corner' is from the register) I also asked about warranty and they do not offer that. The fact of how bothered the 2 girls were by us is absurd. Advice to leadership- if you are not going to offer warranty than your customer service should be exceptional and nothing less. Your employees should not assume every customer is an expert. Please train your employees on customer service basics- smile, be welcoming, offer planting and care instructions, offer other alike products. Serve your customers!! I would NOT reconmend this place at all!! A shame because I love supporting local. I received 10x better service at Home Depot for a $7 houseplant. Take these bad reviews and use them as feedback, there is a clear trend and leadership needs to own that. Every customer is vauluble regardless!

All I can say is do NOT but any expensive trees here. I spent over $1,500 on some, and had them plant them solely for the warranty. Some did well, and the 24" purple leaf plum looked bad - here is the time line: Planted on 5/15/17, I noticed that the crew only dug a hole large enough to slide the 24" tree in. (I was taught to dig a hole twice as big as the box). Called on the 22nd to speak to Jessica (since she was the sales person), and was told that she would not be in until Wednesday. Called to speak to Jessica on the 24th, and she told me that I may be over watering. Went to the nursery on Thursday 5/25. was told to get a piece of rebar and to stick it in the ground - if it went in easily up to two feet that I should refrain from watering for a few days so that the ground could dry out because the tree could not breathe. She told me to bring in a cutting from the tree co that Chuck could take a look at it. On the 27th I poured a 5 gallon bucket of water in the well because the tree looked worse. Went in to the Nursery on 5/30 with a cutting from the tree. Chuck said that I needed to be watering with 2, 5-gallon buckets every other day. Also, spoke to Miguel who informed me that Plum trees are not waranteed, and that it is posted on the tree signs. I went to take a picture of the sign and showed him that there is no mention of a 'non-warranty', and that had I known that I would have made a different selection. The only reason that I had DHS plant the tree was for the warranty. The sales person who was at the counter's response was, "well, WE know that it isn't waranteed". That might be a point to make to the customer BEFORE they purchase. They said that they could set up a home visit for $100, which I declined since I was led to believe that the trees that I purchased would be waranteed in the first place. Went home and did the 10 gallon watering as recommended by Chuck. Tree looks worse on 6/1, will continue with Chuck's watering prescription for a few more days. Continued with the watering schedule until the tree died. So, now I have a dead tree and no warranty. I will never purchase anything from this place again, and I urge you to go elsewhere.

They were very welcoming and helpful! All of the staff was very knowledgeable and willing to lend a hand! Thumbs up all around! They have definitely earned my long term business! Thanks so much!

Terrible. I purchased a shrub "verbena" on Saturday and was told it should be fine as long as I planted it in the evening or early morning. I planted it as instructed and it apparently became "shocked" and was dead by Monday. I called and asked to bring it in for an exchange with the pot and receipt and was told they do not offer exchanges and/or refunds if they don't plant. I cannot believe a nursery would not warranty their plants for at a minimum 5 days without paying them labor. They should really disclose that to you by offering planting so you are at least aware of their policy!

We just walked into this place, and we'll never go back. The customer service was terrible. After walking around for quite some time, we were finally asked if there's anything he can help us with by a guy who was just sitting on a golf cart with other employees chatting. We tried talking to him, told him the tree we were looking for, and he pointed as he was walking away from us. On our way out, instead of helping us with the closed gate because it was 10 minutes until closing, he again pointed and said, "you can just open the gate." It was actually kinda laughable. You have a beautiful place with horrible customer service. Keep up the good work!

Very helpful

Rochelle L. Garcia

Great friendly service! My family and I had a wonderful experience while picking out our Xmas tree. We'll definitely be back next year. BTW, we loved the cookies and the beautiful palm tree lights, plus, naming each tree was a grand idea...made it even more fun. Thank you!

Trina C

It was my first time at this nursery and I was very impressed with their selection and their knowledge! Alvin was amazing!!! He took the time to pick out the best plants for my back yard and went above and beyond to make sure my shopping experience was the best. He even helped with a delivery schedule that worked around my crazy work hours. There will be donuts waiting for you guys, thank you again!!

Amazing has so many options

First of all let me say that Nick is a great sales person and was very helpful and knowledgeable. Now their management is another story. I spent over 1000 dollars at their store and had planned to spend a few more thousand. Here is the problem. I bought a palm tree from Desert Horizon Nursery. We had scheduled a delivery of that tree on a certain day. On the day it was suppose to be delivered, at about 1030, I received a phone call from a guy saying that they lost my paperwork and could not deliver it today. Obviously I was very disappointed because I had taken the day off of work so I could be there for the delivery. He said there was nothing he could do and he had to call several other people and tell them the same thing. I called the store and expressed my concern to whoever answered the phone. I was very nice but expressed that I was not happy this was happening. I asked to speak to a manager. The same guy that called me got on the phone and immediately accused me of arguing with his employees. This manager obviously does not know the first thing about customer service, as I just spent over 1000 dollars at his facility and he made me feel like I am not valued at all! He told me that he would refund my money or deliver the tree tomorrow. He showed zero empathy to the fact that I took the day off of work and losing the paperwork was not of my own doing. Remember this Mr Manager, your customers are the reason you get a paycheck. They are not an inconvenience, they are the reason you are there. I will not step foot in that place of business again and will make my future purchases elsewhere. I will also tell all of my family and friends of my experience at Desert Horizon Nursery. If you are looking to purchase Nursery products, I would strongly suggest you do it at a place where you feel valued.

Desert Horizon did a complete design & remodel of our front and backyard a couple of months ago. The design was great, the crews that did the work were amazing. They were always on time and completed the job in the time frame they promised. I have heard some other businesses that do similar work have very poor follow up when they have issues after the job is done. Not Desert Horizon, when I've called Rob, he always responds immediately and comes out to my house and takes care of the small adjustments I want done . Desert Horion Nursery is a fantastic business to have your yard redone. From a to z!

We went twice in one week as well as asking a few questions via e-mailed. Everyone we dealt with was so friendly and knowledgeable. We were even offered an umbrella and a ride around in the golf cart just to keep my sleeping baby out of the hot sun. They are clearly a family-friendly place, got full trees to fit into the back of my car, and discouraged us from buying a couple types of trees until fall because they didn't want us to waste our money on something that was just going to fail. Most places would let us buy it knowing we'd have to come back for another in several months. I will definitely be returning here when it's time to plant my mango tree.

Todd

The two employees we talked to while here were very abrupt and rude. Their first question was "are you going to buy them today?". When I informed them we want to explore some different fruit tree options and look at big trees as well, they didn't want to help. I never answered the question directly, which I guess they figured we were not worth the time. We did want to pick some up today, but now we are going elsewhere. I guess they must work on commission.

Alvin Punsammy

Great place for all your plants, pottery, fountains, metal art etc. Awesome staff, clean and tidy environment, really kool picture moments.

Rita Gnap

Excellent service. Sales tech was knowledgeable and answered all questions. Helpful in loading plants also.

My wife and I were there yesterday looking at all the plants and different trees. We're having a pool installed at our house and we're looking to redo our backyard to make it our oasis. I decided to stop in the next day to talk with someone because I saw they do landscape designs and installs. I was nicely greeted by an associate who brought me to one of the landscape designers (I don't remember his name). I explained what we were looking to do with our yard and the next thing he says is I have a noon appointment. I apologized and said I didn't realize it was by appointment, I can come back. He didn't offer to schedule an appointment for me to come back. He said if you don't have the layout of your yard I can't really help you. I just happened to have it in my pocket. The next thing he says is why aren't you using the pool companies people for landscape. Does it matter why I'm not using them? I'm here to give you my business. He asks me if we have a budget for this and I tell him a few thousand dollars. He rolls right into well it's going to be more than a few thousand dollars including all the rock to cover the landscape. I told him I'm just looking for the plants and for you to come out and plant them. Why are you questioning my budget, you didn't even give me a dollar figure for me to say that's to much. He looks at my pool diagram and says if you come back with photos of your backyard I can help you out. At this point I want my stuff and I'm out. Obviously this guy doesn't want my business. Who ever this landscaper designer is he has straight up horrible customer service. How does this guy even have a job here.

For my birthday I asked for Mexican Birds of Paradise and sent my son to the nursery for their purchase. He purchased two 5 gallon shrubs. When I planted them one of the two was very small and looked more like something I had trimmed from a mature shrub. The root ball was very small and it was so spindly I had to prop it after planting. Two weeks in and it did not make it. They nursery does not stand behind their product unless you pay them to plant it. The little plant should not have been put out for sale yet or sold as a five gallon shrub. I always try to support local first but I would have expected much more from a reputable nursery.

From the moment that you walk into this beautiful nursery, the feeling of quality hits you. Mike came to our home, measured and listened to our vision. Later that week he had a full 3D design, and we picked OUR plants!!! Go day: Julio and his large crew brought a Bobcat and completed the large project in one day!! They were polite and harmonic, singing as they worked. Of course it made me laugh lol Loved them all!

I rarely write reviews unless I truly had an exceptional experience one way or the other. With DHN, they have far exceeded my expectations with expert designers (Sarah), great project managers (Rob), and customer centric sales reps (Blake). DHN recently designed and managed the install of a fairly significant hardscape project in my family's backyard. Sarah was beyond patient with all my questions, indecision, and changes as she designed our perfect yard. Rob handled my questions and frankly paranoia with care and professionalism. I had to leave town during the project and was really worried. I trusted Rob and he more than delivered. I was astonished with the results. Blake is a customer service pro who goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and to find you the right plants and products. Talking about plants... DHN is hands down the best nursery I have every been too. Im proud to live in Queen Creek, home of Desert Horizon Nursery.

Staff very helpful, and they had lots of cool stuff! Too bad we got there end of day! Register was closed,. But we enjoyed looking at all the beautiful trees and plants!

Great selection, knowledgeable staff, awesome facility

I'm sad to have to leave this review however I want to spare anyone from going through what we have. We purchased an apple tree and an orange tree (and probably close to 1k worth of other plants and trees which we planted and they are thriving) and opted to have then plant them since we didn't want to fubar anything with them being fruit trees. We purchased everything they said we should in order to lessen the shock. They came and installed everything, made the 'dams' and told us to fill the dam every day for the first week and then 2 to 3 times per week after. Within the first month our apple and orange tree started turning brown so we upped the watering. Still, turned brown. We took pictures in to them to see what was going on and found out we were just a couple days past the 3 month warranty. They told us we needed to make the dam bigger, water more, buy special chemicals, and put mulch down. We did that, increased watering and now our apple tree is officially dead and orange tree is barely hanging on. The response we got from them after explaining that we did everything they told us to do was "sorry you are past the 3 months, nothing we can do". We were so excited about having apples this summer and now we just get to pick them off our dead tree, rotten. I'm so frustrated that their planters fubard the installation and we are the ones out big money. Please stay away from this place. Money would be well spent elsewhere.

Tricia Moore

I worked with Alvin and had a fantastic experience. He seemed to be very knowledgeable, particularly about the citrus trees, and exceptionally patient. I felt like the pricing was fair and on par with other retail locations. I'll try to remember to update the review after my March 11 delivery and installation date to let you know if the work matches the expectation set by the salesperson.

Awesome plant selection, knowledgeable staff. Will definitely return.

Brian Raimondi

Went there to purchase 6 trees. Thought the associates were well informed about the plants they carry but as it turns out, they were not. Everytime I went in there to get help I was told different care advice and that what I was told to do before was wrong. Two trees eventually died but yet they refuse to give any type of credit. I would give zero stars but unfortunately the site does not permit it, as I later discovered that home Depot sells most of the same plant including the ones I purchased for half the cost and they offer a one year warranty. Don't ever go to this place as they will charge you twice as much and not even back their product.

Chris Balentine

Terrible service. Purchased white oleanders to replace my red ones and only come to realize after blooming they were red. The Desert Horizon Nursery asked me to dig them up and return them. They refuse to admit they were tagged wrong in their yard and want me to pay to dig them and and pay again to re-plant the correct color. All I wanted was white... :-(

Bertha Zerbinos

I love this Nursery. Your staff is so helpful and nice. It’s why I come back. Beyond the fact that your nursery plants are beautiful. Customer for life.

Jenn France

Very small indoor plant selection, only one employee so far was awesome (compared to the others), they won't even talk to you when you're waiting at the counter for assistance- it's happened multiple times. Your experience doesn't change whether you're buying hundreds in plants, or under $50. The woman today didn't say a single word to me until she told me the total, and asked if I wanted a receipt. Didn't say thank you or have a nice day, didn't ask me to sign the receipt- just slid it over with the pen. Was too interested in talking to her coworkers to acknowledge me at all or provide any positive customer service.

Love this place! Very knowledgeable and helpful and always trying to go the extra mile for you.

Brandon Best

I love this place, beautiful plants, friendly staff and good location. I could spend hours walking around enjoying the plants.

Anne Ekstam

This nursery is spectacular. The plants are healthy, the decorations are unique, and the staff is friendly. I would recommend this place.

Todd Mowen

They are Very knowledgeable on their products. We purchased all our plants here for our front yard!

Julie Backus

I agree when purchasing they are quite helpful, but after that there is no service. Did you know they do not offer a warranty. When you leave you are on your own. On (3/27/19) I purchased several shrubs, planted them on (3/29/19). When planting them I noticed grubs in the ball of a plant, I called them and they didn't want to deal with it. Said the manager would get back to me. After a second call they still would not get back to me. Why buy from Desert Horizon when plants may have grubs, no warranty, and not try to resolve an issue.

Diana Roskuski

Following an unproductive visit to another nursery on Arizona Ave, Logan at Desert Horizon immediately diagnosed the problem with a clipping from an orange tree at our new home as gall, and led us to a systemic which would take care of the problem and save the tree. Future nursery purchases will definitely be from Desert Horizon!

Gilbert Palmer Jr.

There landscaping team is horrible. I had the gentleman come out and i won't use his name but very unprofessional, has no concept of what customers want. Prior to this we had a young lady named Krystal. She was awesome. Told her exactly what we wanted and she delivered. Also for the longest time, DHN would give a veteran discount of 10%, when asked for it there an older heavy set woman that looked at me like I was asking for the plants for free. I'm pretty sure there isn't a huge amount of veterans coming into DHN asking for the veteran discount. This place started off on the good foot but I believe they look more at profit then customer satisfaction. Majority of the staff is pleasant and very helpful but there are a few that make is pointless to go there. Hopefully DHN will changes things up to bring back that friendly atmosphere. If you cross reference my name in your database you can find my information. Or send me the number and name and will contact you if you like?

Used to be a great family run nursery when Queen Creek was a new and establishing itself as a City. Now that QC is on the map, they no longer care about the small family run business, unfortunately the mentality of the nursery is how much they can get you for. The person who wrote a prior review was right, there are nurseries out there that are more reasonably priced.

SJ O.

Jessica has been a great help to my friend and I. She is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The nursery is lovely and has a great selection.

I love going there even if I don't need a plant. I usually can't leave without one. The information they have is so helpful. This is our ONLY nursery. We don't need to go anywhere else. THANK YOU DESERT HORIZON NURSERY!

The staff was extremely patient and helpful. They are busy, but took the time to ask me questions about what I was looking for and what would work. I won't go anywhere else from now on. They were that great!

Katie Rogers

Great experience picking out a new tree at Desert Horizon Nursery! We walked around a bit looking at their beautiful selection and then we were helped by a staff member who came up to check on us. He looked over our HOA approval list and asked us questions to help narrow down our choices. We are so happy with our tree and would've never found it without their help!! We will be back for sure!!

Terrific staff! Always helpful and knowledgeable.

Ever since Mike left, this place has gone downhill. They have become overpriced. At one point, was spending around $200 a month with them, but now it full price on everything. I checked over at A & P Nursery and immediately they gave me a 20% off coupon which cut my cost by $4 a plant. When you are buying 200 plants, that's $800 in savings. Do yourself a favor, shop around before buying here. I admit they have a beautiful nursery, but not going to be built on my dollars anymore. Also in case you think this is a biased review, I called Treeland Nurseries in Chandler also and they were $2 a plant cheaper. They won't get another penny of my income to support their business. Go compare and do your homework first.

Start here when planning your next landscaping project. A neat little cafe too while you wait.

This Garden Center is such a beautiful place. Very perfectly neat and artistic arrangement of plants. Best Store to find a plant decoration for your backyard. Highly recommended.

Katie Swisher

The Citrus Tasting event they put on was great! Very impressed! They answered all our questions about our own citrus trees. Stock was readily available to purchase.

Julianna Arnett

By far the best selection and prices in the East Valley.

Tary Taylor

Wow, just WOW. I've lived in Queen Creek for 25yrs and never stopped into this gem of a place. My loss! Stocked with everything you need for an Arizona yard. Some of the most exotic/beautiful desert loving plants available. Staff is top notch, friendly, knowledgeable... stunning yard art. Don't miss this

Jared

Could not have been better. Showed up when they said they would, worked hard and cleaned up before they left. Would highly recommend Desert Horizon Nursery.

Kevin Johnston

Took time out of my day to say how great Phil and the others at this place were. I purchased two citrus trees, as well as grass, mulch, and seed cover. Competitively priced, and so much more helpful and knowledgeable than others I've used. Thanks!

Ivan Dell

Really nice nursery, great experience buying a tree, they have a great tree selection, very knowledgeable and helpful staff.

Desert Horizon Nursery is by far the best nursery I have ever been to. ALVIN goes the extra mile every time to be sure we get what we ned!! Exceptional staff and huge inventory to choose from. Get an education and have some fun too!

David Hubal

Robert Milk, PMP

Very Helpful staff. Nice selection of trees, shrubs, cacti, etc.

JasonAndBranka T

Excellent quality trees and plants. Some reviews complain about the plant warranty. Wanting plant warranty is ridiculous since they are alive and not plastic, and the nursery has no control over the watering nor soil nor the placement of the plant once it's out of their hands. People kill plants and should not expect a refund. Home Depot offers it because they make money on 95% of other stuff they sell, but it's nor reasonable to expect of any plant nursery.

Emily Welchman

We have self-landscaped 6 of our own homes and have always been impressed by the service, selection, and quality we have recieved at Desert Horizon. But our last visit, the landscape sales associate who helped us went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of, and even helped to pick out the highest quality plants available. Thank you Alvin Punsammy!!

Howard H

This place is great! Huge inventory to choose from and their product is top notch. Pricing is also competitive which is refreshing with a lot of OTHER large nurseries claiming inflated pricing is due to their larger trees for the same size box. (This is NOT something people should want). Desert Horizon is locally owned and operated as a family business too. Come here and talk with their staff to help you with your new trees.

Jon Mott

Worst employee ever. I have never been talked to so condescendingly in my life. I asked the first employee a question about what trees they have that would be tolerant of texas root rot. He didn't know and said he would send the arborist. Another guy came by shortly and when I asked him if he was an arborist he got defensive. No big deal. Then I asked him which trees would be ok with texas root and he said any to which I replied that's not the case. He then decided to ask me why I need him if I know so much. You know what? I will spend my money elsewhere .

Erin Goldman

I've been coming here for plants and pottery since moving to Gilbert a few years ago. I love their selection! They have everything! We recently moved and hired their landscape designer, Mike. He put together a great design that fit our budget and look beautiful. They were on time, on budget and professional. It was an excellent experience.

christy riley

Living in the QC area, I stopped to buy a few plants for my landscape. My first impression...the plants & garden décor are priced high (based on other nurseries I have recently visited in the Gilbert/Mesa area). Plant I picked was placed at counter while I continued to browse. Then I heard someone ask who the plant belonged to & the employee replied "some old lady" loud enough for it to be heard...wow. Not only did you lose a sale, not likely I will patronize your business again. I don't have gray hair, not on a walker, and didn't appreciate the comment.

Tracy Caneira

Large place, helpful folks but over priced. Guess you pay for the larger variety.

We've shopped and purchased here many times since moving to the area and recently purchased a tree and arranged for them to plant the tree. Everyone at the nursery was great and very helpful. BUT . . . when they planted the tree they cut the irrigation line that ran through the hole that was dug. It says right on the receipt that they won't be responsible for cut irrigation lines. That's fine, I can repair it quite easily. If I know about it. The line was nearly cut in two and would have been obvious to anyone working on the hole, but instead of telling us, they filled in the hole and covered up the cut line. So, we didn't know the line had been cut until the system ran and all of the sudden we had a new water fountain feature in our yard. Hiding what was done made it much worse. We had to dig up the line and repair it amongst all of the mud and water that resulted from the tree-planters trying to hide what they did. I called Desert Horizon, the woman who returned my call said she would refer it to the manager. It's now been three weeks and I have not heard any more back from Desert Horizon. In any business it's what you do when there is a problem that speaks to the quality of the business. Sorry to say we won't be going back.

Mick was extremely helpful and friendly. I needed flowers and plants for a 24" wok. He helped me pick them out and arrange them so I knew exactly how to plant them. He also took a picture and a video for reference. Thanks for the help, they turned out great!

Absurd prices. I can't afford to "flush" my money. There are other great nurseries at 50% to 75% cheaper.

Andrew Molloy

Great selection and quality. Great nursery with a wide variety of high end plants, trees and landscape accessories.

Mark Post

This is a great Garden Center with every kind of plant, statue, and pot that you could ever think of. There's a wide selection of bushes and trees. They also have an exuberant amount of garden sculptures made of ceramic and Metal. The staff is very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. It is a great place.

Followed my sketchy vision of my new home's backyard and delivered on that and made it even better. Work was professionally done. Service, support and satisfaction was exceeded. Work completed in a timely manner and very neat. Everyone is professional and really wants to help you make god choices, provides plant options, etc. They were considerably cheaper (compared to my neighbors) and I have a better design and more plants and features. I've already got a co-worked referred and paid with Dessert Horizons to do her new come when it completes.

I called to see if they carried the product I was looking for to add to my potting soil, the employee (male) who answered the phone went to check, came back and said yes we have it, then I asked what size and price and he sounded so bothered I asked, he went to check and came back on with the info but was so short and I felt really rushed, not actually helped or valued as a potential customer. Still I went in to get the product because it was the best pricing I could find. The employee (female) at the register was helping someone else and when she asked if I’d been helped she was so rude and short, the whole customer experience I had here was the worst I’ve ever had at a business. I went to a different nursery earlier today and was treated amazingly, I’m shocked that the employees at Desert Horizon Nursery continue to have a job there. Especially after all of the other bad reviews I’ve read on here, you’d think the owners would care and change something about who they hire. Edit: I didn’t get her name but she was wearing sunglasses and checked me out, I came in at 4pm to buy pumice.

Rene Samaniego

Thieves.....spent$400.....2plants didn't last a week....they could not exchange them.....

John B

Would give this place a zero if I could. Bought a large tree and bush from here, paid for planting and adjusting the irrigation system. Both died within 6 months. Wouldn't so much as lift a finger to help. Spent almost a grand when it was all said and done. Manager would not call me back for MONTHS. Worst customer service. Do not buy plants from this place! They will not stand behind them!

Desert Horizon Nursery is wonderful to work with. Very knowledgeable, and helpfull. I will use them for all my gardening needs.
