What a fantastic place. The glass blowing demonstration is highly recommended. Our visit to Jewell Gardens was one of the highlights of our Alaska cruise.
Well done in all ways, food , staff, walkability, interesting sites, will go back again
We had a wonderful lunch then toured the gardens. It was late June, so the weather was good. Hampton was our guide and he was very informative and took a lot of time with us. The gardens are exquisite, and I was pleasantly surprised that they were so large. I did not expect such a thing in Alaska! It was really a great time.
Josh and Keeper where fantastic, I learned a ton about glass blowing and the gardens were absolutely fantastic. I really enjoyed the hands on approach to the entire presentation.
'Amazing' and 'beautiful' are not words strong enough to describe this place. I went on their tour thru the NCL cruise line. It included a tour of the gardens and glass blowing demonstration. So far, this has been my favorite place in Alaska. A woman named Deanna gave the tour - she was knowledgeable about the garden and a fantastic story teller weaving in local history bits throughout the tour. Sam and Jeremy gave the glass blowing show. Not only are they gifted artists, but showmen as well. They gave us some great ideas on how to spend bthe rest of our time, and local sites that shouldn't be missed. I would recommend you visit!
Beautiful garden, we really enjoyed our visit. We also took time to check out the glass blowing classes they offer. We then went to the restaurant on grounds and had the most amazing tomato basil soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. All within walking distance of the town.
For a garden in Skagway, AK, it's really pretty nice. There's a good variety of flowers and plants in several different settings and the gardens are nicely maintained. The staff seems friendly and are nice. They also have a gift shop, restaurant, and glass blowing. If you want to get away from the tourist traps and crowds of downtown, this is a pretty nice option.
Great lunch! Beautiful gardens!!
Thought the price was a little high, the gardens were nicely kept.
Disappointed w guide, small garden that is viewed in well under 1 hour
Beautiful gardens, great story behind them. Small gift shop and restaurant. Very nice staff.
Beautiful garden, tasty garden, the glassblowing was awesome, and the afternoon tea was a perfect end to the tour.
Beatiful grounds and great friendly staff! They didn't hassle us for a sale allowed is time to browse the glass shop and find my perfect habdblown glass to take home. They did check to see if we needed anything or could carry anything. The cashier was awesome she wrapped my stuff really well for traveling and she also took some extra time to explain the heat and cooling process of making the hand blown glass!
My family had such a lovely time visiting the gardens and trying out glass blowing. Everyone we met there was wonderful. Spencer taught us about glass with lots of energy and enthusiasm and Kaia took us through the gardens and pointed out some cool flowers. Highly recommend.
Friendly staff
This is a fun place to hang out. We did the glass blowing experience and loved the instruction. Wish I could have been more hands on but I understood why I had help every step away because of intense heat of the glass. They also ship your work to you. Takes about 10 days to receive it in the mail. Definitely a great way to spend s morning in Skagway.
Fantastic experience. We did the glass blowing and lunch. It was great, the instruction was fun and well guided. They helped us choose what we wanted to make and everything turned out beautifully. The glass was shipped to our home and arrived exactly 2 weeks after we were there. We also had lunch, the food was tasty and well prepared, as a bonus, everything came from their gardens. Even late in the season it was fun to walk through and discover all the hidden suprises. I would definitely recommend this to anyone that likes glass art, good food or gardens.
Was in town via a Cruise and we had an excursion for a glass blowing workshop. Absolutely fun excursion. Nice place with a small cafe with healthy food options.
Maybe we came too late in the year? This place was not very well kept. Weeds growing in the flower gardens. Very little flowers left to look at. Small area to walk around in. The glass sculptures were very cool, and the miniature train was awesome. Did not eat at the restaurant, but it looked very cozy and cute.
Very neat
It was an amazing tour of the gardens, and glass blowing demonstration!
Different place to visit, good hospitality and attention to the people, enthusiastic, this time of the season. The garden was not as on spring, the ace where you can eat is nice and is for any body that enjoy this practice. After a demonstration of the blowing glass, guests will be astonished of the process and if decided, they can learn how to do their own blowing glass which will be able to buy their own creation If decided.
Very cool expierence! Just the right amount of corny tourist entertainment. Super cool blown glass ball to take home. Huge thanks to; #missionobjectiveoutdoors
Fun with family to make glass orniments.
It was rainy......and mystical!
Not interesting enough to pay the higher price.
Beautiful hand blown glass and a beautiful garden to walk thru! Customers can make a hand blown ornament!
The gardens were absolutely gorgeous, we did the glass bowling our glass bowler was a lot of fun and informative. The food was good, and our guide was super nice and informative. It was an overall great experience.
BEAUTIFUL! What a wonderful way to spend a morning or afternoon. Be sure to STOP in the cafe for a delicious local treat
Glassblowing is well worth the time and an experience that cannot be missed. Beautiful gardens. A real jewel.
We went for the glass blowing class. It was a one of a kind experience. It was also interesting wandering around their gardens looking at their glass art that was placed through out.

Super neat and very unique. Lots of history at this place too!
A truly beautiful and relaxing experience with amazing people.
Was recently visiting Alaska and ended up on glassblowing tour here. Alana is absolutely wonderful, hilarious instructor, as was Jack. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area.

Beautiful flowers and glass blowing demonstration
Such beautiful gardens, wonderful people, awesome art!! Could spend hours just walking around and admiring the gardens and artistry.
What a wonderful place! The gardens are beyond belief. Huge flowers, a greenhouse growing huge cabbage and other produce. And a very interesting/wonderful blown glass piece hangs from the tip top inside the greenhouse. There are other blown glass surprises around the grounds. Very enchanted garden!
Fresh garden variety food, delicious! It was great to walk the gardens and see the fruits and veggies in bloom.
It was the best excursion in Alaska. The people were very friendly and informative. The food was simple and delicious; fresh from the garden. Of course, making the glass was very interesting. It's a little expensive to blow glass but well worth it. I have a memory hanging in my window. The grounds were lovely, as was the view of the mountains. It was a perfect day.
Nice organic garden
Beautiful gardens. Skip the cruise line boomtown on Broadway and come here. Glass blowing artists on site and their work is incorporated into garden displays. Then eat at Poppies restaurant. Very tasty.
The gardens are beautiful. Such great care is given. We were there for a glass blowing presentation. It was awesome.
We love their tea
Beautiful gargen, with the added touch of blown glass!!
awesome food, great service, fair pricing ( esp for alaska)
Great place. Great people. Great Time.
Great food friendly service
This was one of the most fun things we did on our cruise. Glassblowing. ..and we have some great souvenirs from the fay!
This was our absolute favorite excursion on our Alaskan cruise! The gardens and lunch were wonderful but the glass blowing experience was off the charts amazing! Nash is so very patient and helped us create a one of a kind souvenir! Then it was shipped home to us safe and sound! I've always wanted to learn more about this beautiful art, thank you so much!
Great garden with amazing views once you add in the background. There restaurant was even better.
Expensive
The gardens are beautiful and the food is delicious
Beautiful gardens, interesting and different, well worth a visit. The glass blowing is fun and all is run by the dedicated Max who is one of the friendliest and most helpful people you could ever meet.
Great experience in Skagway.
These guys do a top notch job. A must see/visit while on White Pass Excursion in Skagway, AK.
Hands on glass blowing experience was awesome. Gardens are lovely.
We got there on opening day so not everything was set up, so they offered us half price tickets. We saw a demonstration for glass blowing which was very interesting.
I actually didn't visit the place but it looks pretty cool.
Best glass blowing experience. They have lots of color and pattern examples and are very fun and entertaining. They ship your resulting glass ornament to you at home included in the price. You choose your own colors and pattern and then they help you complete the project.
Did glassblowing and it was a great experience. I would recommend it to all. The food and garden was amazing.
I liked it, it's not a big garden to visit but it's so nice and rejuvenating. It's $12.50 per person to get in which is not bad at all.
I visited the Jewell gardens and embarked on the glass blowing tour. Our helpful guide showed us the exact steps for creating a glass ball before assisting us in blowing our own ornaments. We were able to choose the pattern and color for our balls, and picked them up the next day once they had cooled.
Must visit location near the Space needle. Beautiful exhibit worth the money. Buy the city pass and do everything in the booklet.
This was a nice little garden. The coolest thing for me was the model train they have as you first walk in. The glass sculptures are really pretty.
Very cool out of the norm (tourist) trap. Unique dining and glass blowing experience. Highly recommend stopping in!
Pottery, hand blown glass, jewelry, garden centre
I didnt see the glassblowing but the food at poppys was great, the beer was cold and the garden was beautiful
Absolutely loved going to Jewell Gardens. Making your own glass ornament is a one of a kind experience.
Chose the glassblowing experience as one of our excursions through Norwegian Cruise lines. Absolutely loved it. The gardens are small, but impressive. You can't believe the giant fruits and vegetables that the Alaska sun is able to produce. The glass blowing experience was great. The demonstration was probably an hour and a half long and included three different pieces to completion. They also provided delicious appetizers for us to munch on while we watched. If you don't do it as an excursion I think it also would be worth taking the public bus up to it (only a mile outside of the main downtown stretch). They have a farm to table restaurant their that looked awesome.
What a wonderful experience blowing glass with Travis and Maggie. They were great teachers and so much fun. Anyone going to Skagway must do the glass blowing.
The gardens are beautiful and have outstanding glass sculptures imbedded. Try your hand at glassblowing. One of the highlights of Skagway.
nice place
Not worth visiting at all.
Loved the glass blowing experience, Stephanie was fantastic!
.Nice gardens, great tour guide. The glass blowing demonstration was exceptional
Great learning experience and fun staff
Did not think I would want to stop here, but SO glad that we did! So worth it...
Like all the Jewell, just can't afford all them!
Lovely venue for lunch and walk round the gardens and tunnels. Met the hens Friendly staff, soul and quiche tasty.
Had great time seeing artists at work.
Very pleasant garden! On the small side though!
Great staff, pristine and beautiful gardens that show Alaska's best, pizza beer. A must stop in Skagway for all visitors
Beautiful garden, good food.
The best was all the glass sculptures
Did the glass blowing tour. Had a fantastic guide and learn lots about what it takes to sculpt glass Would recommend
Beautiful and peaceful. Worth the visit.
Excellent gardens. Workers here are so nice
My husband and I got married at the Gardens last Tuesday (8/29/17). It was a simple ceremony and totally perfect for us. Brenna was amazing! She made everything go smoothly and was there for us with all our questions. Since we live in TN and were getting married in AK, it took a bit of coordinating. I am an avid gardener and the grounds were so lovely...I felt totally in my element. After the ceremony, Keith and I did the glassblowing. Travis, our guide, was quite a hoot and also a great teacher. We had a fantastic time! I highly recommend Jewel Gardens to anyone visiting Skagway. I truly hope to get to go back someday!!!
Great lunch! Easy to get to from cruise-just get on the Smart Bus-5 minutes away! Healthy options with lots grown in their garden! ❤️
This was a very enjoyable venue. We enjoy the gardens in really enjoyed watching the glass blowing
Nice to see gardens in Alaska
Another reviewer said it best when they said... "Jewell Gardens is truly a jewel in Skagway". The grounds are beautiful and everyone we encountered there was just wonderful. We visited through a shore excursion via Royal Caribbean and there was plenty of time to enjoy Jewell Gardens and the glass blowing experience. Josh (tour guide) and Travis (glass blowing artist & teacher) were the dynamic duo of this experience. Both Josh and Travis are a joy to be around. Their positive energy is infectious. Josh shared a wealth of knowledge about Jewell Gardens and Skagway in a fun and upbeat way. Travis kept us engaged throughout the glass blowing experience even when it wasn't our turn at the helm. Honestly, I wish we could have taken these two out for a beer afterwards. :) Our excursion included a meal in the price and it was delicious! not your typical hurry up and eat "box lunch" many tours offer. It was fresh food in a quaint little restaurant area on the grounds. We enjoyed a beautiful view of the garden that much of the food we ate came from. After we finished lunch we were encouraged to take a moment to enjoy the gardens. Overall this was a great experience. I'm looking forward to receiving the souvenir that I personally hand-crafted... with a lot of expert help from Travis, of course.
My wife and I like glass blowing. This is our 2nd time (first here) taking a guided class. Katie and keelin were a great pair. Katie, personable, friendly and willing to share her knowledge of glass blowing. Her instruction was flawless. We chose a style and colors and she assisted us to our desired outcome. Keelin, as a guide she was excellent. She was engaging to the entire tour. Allowing people to share their stories, while she added her experiences as well. She is apprenticing in glass blowing. Her desire to learn was evident, but more importantly she assisted Katie by getting the 'frit' ready for the next ornament. The entire day was phenomenal! If we return having these 2 here make the decision remarkable. Great job, great people.
Took glass blowing class and had a great time! Travis was an awesome instructor. Highly recommend this experience.
Well worth it! Teacher was knowledgeable. Gardens were beautiful, and the food at Poppie's was yummy!
Fabulous place to eat at. Surrounding area is gorgeous.
Signed up for the glassblowing experience during which we got to participate in making an ornament of our own individual design! It was an awesome hands-on experience; the artist, Travis, was friendly, encouraging, knowledgeable, and clearly loves what he does! The hot shop overlooks beautiful small gardens that include some glass sculptures. There is also a small cafe, a gift shop, and clean restrooms. Our ornament should be shipped to us back home, so we don't have to worry about toting the fragile piece on the rest of our vacation. Highly recommend!
Great people, great food, great place!
Favorite part of our whole Alaska trip. We loved glass blowing, lunch, and wandering the gardens.
Amazing experience, and even better guides
The glassblowing experience is completely worth it! However, I recommend purchasing directly from Jewell Gardens instead of from a cruise line. There's a bus with a nominal fee (I think it's $2 trips and $5 all day, but I'm not 100% sure) that you can catch in town that will take you there. The correct bus runs every 20-30 minutes or so during tourist season so I recommend giving yourself at least an hour between the time you disembark your boat and your glassblowing time. There's a small restaurant, a gift shop, and some very quaint gardens.
Blown glass items mixed in with a variety of plants. Some unusual plants, well planned gardens.
The tour guide and artist was very helpful and nice. I had a wonderful opportunity to make a blown glass globe, take a quick tour of their beautiful garden and eat a small meal that was made from the plants grown in their garden.
A beautiful place to get away from the hustle and bustle of Skagway
Great glassblowing class with Sam and Keland.
Interesting little place, excellent food (& rose petal tea!) Stay for the garden tour. Glass blowing "mistakes" scattered all around the garden very pretty! Gift shop is a bit pricey, though.
Very beautiful
I enjoyed it. Wasn't too much, wasn't too little, was just right. I liked the tour through the gardens and loved the glass blowing and their corny jokes. Sam and Stephanie were amazing. Jack the tour guide was great also!
Loved the glass blowing experience and the gardens are gorgeous! Highly recommend
Favorite event of the whole Cruise experience, Great fun glassblowing, Awesome lunch onsite, BEAUTIFUL Garden could have spent a lot more time there and the people and guide were TOP notch!!
Did a glass blowing excursion there. Really cool and great crew that’s running it. Had an enjoyable meal there as well. Farm to table style. Simple and delicious.
It looks like it could be an awesome place when the flowers are in full bloom, however we visited the wrong time.
Food, service and the patio view were amazing. Highly recommended.
Beautiful garden
Lovely, self guided, would have liked a guided tour. It was easy to get to on the Smart Bus. Price of $12.50 was reasonable. The staff was friendly.
Great place. Nice staff very helpful and fun. Worth the trip to Alaska to go here.
Great find, especially for gardeners, with a glassblowing bonus. Farm-to-table restaurant, beauitiful gift shop and accessible via the City Public Shuttle.
So much fun to watch and make your own blown glass globe! The grounds are also beautiful.
This place was heaven on earth! I could’ve spent and entire day here. I stopped by for a while during one of our cruise port stops. It was so beautiful and amazing! It gave me so many idea for my own home garden. Thank you Jewell Gardens!
My mom and I took a cruise to Alaska last week and the tour here was absolutely amazing! Deanna was a fantastic guide, the gardens were beautiful, and Spencer and Travis did a glassblowing demonstration that was just awesome. Definitely a highlight of our trip.
To pricey
Beautiful gardens, amazing food, lovely staff!
Had a great experience here. Did a glass blowing class and had snacks and drinks afterwards. And had to buy a few things to ship home.
Bundle of all cuisines in the world at one single place
My wife, sister in law, and myself decided to try the glass blowing excursion located at Jewell Gardens, and it was a great experience! Tour guides Keelin and Amanda were great and very helpful, and our glass blowing expert, Travis, was highly entertaining and very informative. With Travis' help, we were able to create our own pieces, choosing color, design, and display style. Travis kept the mood light and fun, but focused on safety and displayed an incredible talent for teaching. Keelin and Amanda were very engaging, and kept the whole process flowing, ensuring each participant was ready when their turn came up. The gardens themselves are beautiful, and have glass works throughout. Our particular tour included a lunch provided by the restaurant on site, featuring veggies and herbs grown right there on the farm attached to the gardens. Overall 5 star, incredibly fun time. Well worth the visit.
Our stop from the Yukon Rail to have lunch and spend some time learning about this Organic Certified Garden! Had a lunch provide from their produce, had a rhubarb mimosa! Very tastey and nice end of the day tour
The artist we worked with was a lot of fun and the gardens were beautiful.
We blew glass ornaments. Great fun.
Gorgeous views, perfect setting and decor for this little off the beaten path restaurant! Menu has an assortment of imaginative salads and light meals. Affordable. Lovely atmosphere!
Very nice and friendly place. The Gardens are a pleasant mix of art gallery, gift shop, restaurant and learning center. The entire staff is very helpful and we had fun learning how to blow our own glass ornaments with the guidance of (Stephanie, if I'm remembering her name correctly). Not to be missed when visiting Skagway.
Very entertaining.
(Translated by Google) Beautiful, worthy of knowing him. (Original) Hermoso, digno de conocerlo.
Had a lot of fun here for our excursion! Great garden and great guides. The glass blowing was amazing and comes with a souvenir you make with your own hands!
