Bell's is awesome. What can I say? I'm a mid twenties male and I go there for quality flowers. Normally I get bulbs in the fall, fresh grown tomatoes and cucumbers in the summer, poinsettias in the winter. I'm not so into it but there is also a bit of decorative pottery, a coffee shop, and See's candy/ chocolates whatever. I always see some people enjoying scones and coffee and taking it slow. Its whatever your into but the flowers and plants are amazing and well tended.

If you haven't been, don't wait any longer. This is alot more than a nursery, thou they have hundreds of incredible hanging baskets. Bells has all kinds of seasonal merchandise, this would be a great place to find a gift for someone special. The have great radio commercials telling you what is in season down a Bells, so when you hear the messages you have to make a stop.

Bells Nursery is by far the best in anchorage! Not only can you get plants, but you can grab a coffee, but a gift for someone, whether it be jewelry, pottery, tableware, fine soaps or delicious See’s candies! The plants are very well tended and there is a large variety as well. It has such a lovely and welcoming atmosphere there and I look forward to my frequent visits there! Thank you bells!

I do not know why I took so long to come to Bell's, but I don't think I'll ever go back to buying my plants at a hardware store again. The plants are healthy and the prices are great! I was shopping for a business that wanted to decorate their entrances, and thanks to Bell's, I came in under the budget.

It's an upscale place but if you have the budget, you can get beautiful things here. In addition to Alaska-hardened trees and shrubs, they'll store your hanging fuschia etc. baskets for a fee over the winter. When you get them back, they'll be stunning. I bought perennial herbs for $6/4"-pot and am eyeing some zone 3 fruit trees at $80/$90 a piece for 5-6 foot tall trees. 3-4 for lilacs were $36. There is an extensive home and gift shop where you can buy Company C rugs, Creuset kitchenware and other high-end stuff.

I've been to the one on Cranberry, and the folks there were very helpful. The location on Specking has more staff, but they aren't as friendly. I have had the unfortunate opportunity to speak with the owner off-site at an RC event and I have to say I was extremely disappointed in his chauvinistic attitude. As a married woman with kids present, being offered a "private tour of his tomato greenhouse" if I was able to rid myself of my "baggage" is totally unnecessary and unwanted. Due to that, I will never shop at Bell's again.

They have a good variety of plants that are able to grow and survive in Alaska. They have good specials, just be on the lookout for them, some of the popular items can go fast. Fun to walk around and find that new thing you want to grow this year. Read the labels, all the information you need is on there.

I love Bell's Nursery! Only place I know offers See's chocolate in Anchorage; it's where I get my candy fix. The coffee is great, and I found out they use kaladi's, it's why its so good. The tomatoes and cucumbers are the best. And the flowers in May are big and beautiful. I wait for the sales and I get good deals. The people who work there are really nice, and helpful.

Bell’s is never my go to greenhouse. As a young woman who loves gardening indoors and out I have never been treated with grace and kindness here. I can’t even imagine being a novice in a place like this. Sure they have a gorgeous selection in their gift shop, it’s warm, and a pleasant place to grab a coffee but to purchase plants - indoor or outdoor - I would wait for a sale. Too many a time I have lost my plants to aphids from this establishment and upon returning the plants; received no assistance or recompense for these sad plants. - I would much rather go to Forget Me Not Nursery down in Indian!! They have a gorgeous selection and are ever so helpful. Not to mention Dimond greenhouse as well as Sutton’s off of Tudor. The ZZ plants I have pictures below are for sale for $18 - if this were my shop I would be ashamed to put these on display.

Such a lovely place! At Christmas, the green house full of fresh trees smells incredible. Seeing tables full of Poinsettias cheers my heart. The gift shop has everything you'd expect at Christmas, including specialty China, glassware, linens, Christmas Village collections, and See's Candy. They have their usual gift merchandise, including new items like hand made purses from CO, organic cotton baby close, condiments, soaps and many other unique products. The Expresso bar is open. Relax with an Eggnog Steamer or cup of tea, with a favorite pastry and enjoy the inviting sitting area.

Have been shopping at Bell's for over 15 years now, left thousands of dollars in this store. I don't recall a single time that I was treated with basic manners and respect. The ladies at the gift shop seem to be hired after having been trained to be rude, displeasing and bad mannered with customers. They treat the customers as if they owed them money. What a shame to have staff like that working at this business! The experience repeats in both gifts stores.

I went in not knowing anything about gardening and hoping to plant a couple of things in a planter out in my yard. No staff was around to help and nothing was labeled as to where you can plant it. Then when I went to check out, the lady, the first person to talk to or help me, said in a stuck up way, “you know all these are house plants, don’t you?” I was just embarrassed at that point and left. I wouldn’t go unless you know exactly what you want or need and are not new to this. Ugh.

We go each year to get a wreath and chocolates. They have a nice selection of gifts of all kinds and price points. Lots of friendly people work here and provide above average service. They also serve coffee and snacks, but I have not ever ordered anything. Maybe next year.

VERY expensive. To the tune of "seriously-overpriced" ..I went in for three hanging baskets of strawberry plants from them this spring ... $85 each... Psychotic. Their staff is generally disinterested; but typical of gardening stores there is usually ONE person wandering here-or-there who will fill your ear with advice about what they think is 'right' in a particular planting application.In truth not a botanist or horticulturist among them for the most part as far as I've encountered.. A bunch of clock watching check grabbers though. Google is your friend however, & any advice necessary is easily rendered from the minutia of the internet.

If your truly interested in a quality green house just look on Google maps for one with a full 5 stare rating there out here trust me!

Bell’s has a gorgeous selection of gifts, plants, seasonal decorations, and dishes. It has such a pleasant atmosphere, especially around the holidays. I’ve bought several trees here and the staff are knowledgeable and pleasant. The coffee shop is very pleasant as well and has flowers on all the tables. If you’re ever having a dreary day, Bell’s will cheer you up!

Came looking for Halloween pumpkins that might be a little better quality than the grocery store ones... expected prices to be high, but I was very pleasantly surprised by how reasonable the prices were on the beautiful pumpkins that we bought! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and all the pumpkins had stickers clearly marking the price of each, making it easy to decide.

Excellent greenhouse and household shopping. They have one of the only places in Alaska to buy See's Candy, and they have several Christmas and other holiday decorations. They also serve coffee and soup.

Service was pretty good. I bought some tomato plants and the caterpillars that came with them invaded my greenhouse. They don't raise all their plants. These were imported.

Picked up some Never Stop Begonias on sale. Six different colors. Bells has been a premier greenhouse for decades. I went to the Speckimg road location as they have a lovely coffee shop. A Sees Candy store. A Swavorsky (sp?) Crystal selection and Department 51 Christmas selection. Anchorage has a number of great greenhouses.
