What more can be said about Madisons most successful food co-op than, this place is fantastic! Prices are comparable or better for organic items elsewhere. Local goods are central, plentiful and also well priced. This location has a decent size wine and beer selection. Excited to see how the remodel adds to the allure!

Excellent products, big bulk section, polite staff. However, as someone who does not tolerate either dairy or gluten, I find the options narrow in the prepared food section. For example, I didn't see any sandwiches that are gluten-free. The chicken pesto tamales are tasty but rather dry. Non of the pasta is gluten- free.

Awesome Co-op! I had only been to the Willy Street location several times and was over near this one so I stopped in and it is so much bigger with a larger, but slightly different selection. There were some items that I was looking for that they did not seem to carry from the other location- but the selection was still amazing! The staff were are all very friendly and helpful. I really like this Co-op. I haven't had one bad experience any time I've been. And I finally signed up for the Ownership. It's totally worth it- I should have signed up months ago. Great store and they had a ton of new items added to the store so it seems to be growing in selection. Compared to the nearby whole foods parking lot on a Sunday too- the Coop was a dream. I'm looking forward to going back.

If I could do 4 1/2 stars I would. Limited selection. Their hot deli selection is quite tired. Prices are a bit higher, but so is the quality. Staff is friendly and helpful. The place is always very clean. Great selection of meats and cheeses. I wish the rest of the store had equally as great of selections.

My favorite store for healthy food on Madison’s westside (Middleton). I miss the wheatgrass bar that was there before the 2018-19 renovation. The wine-beer-liquor area is nice but would appreciate a more prominent presence in the new store setup.

This location is smaller than the main Willie st location, so some options are limited. Not so much a downside, the convenience is worth the difference. The selection of local produce is a bonus, as well as organic and conventional products shipped from other areas. I've always had great experiences with their bulk products, it's especially nice to take a small size of tea and test it out before committing to a significant amount! I appreciate being able to choose my servings based on need and budget. I enjoy the pleasant and relaxed atmosphere, the coop takes care of its employees and it shows.

It's no secret that I love the Willy Street Co-Op. I've been a member here for over 7 years now, and I always have had a positive experience. Willy Street Co-Op has friendly, helpful staff, and great products. Their food is fresh and often local. There is an excellent hot bar, smoothie/coffee counter, bakery, and even meat and fish counter. Lastly, Willy Street Co-Op also has cooking classes. The ambiance here is always friendly.

I prefer this one to the east side, where the customers are generally pretty rude and entitled. They have great local produce, a good meat section, and a good beer selection. The deli is reliably good. The staff are friendly and helpful. They also have the best selection of local whole bean coffee I've seen anywhere. The biggest downside is the parking lot, which is poorly laid out and cramped. Otherwise, this is a terrific local grocery option.

This is where I go for comfort food, since they have high quality locally prepared stuff. You pay a premium but it's worth it. If you are doing any kind of special diet like keto vegan etc this is a good place to get products that fit your lifestyle. Their freshly made juice blends are awesome and so is the hot bar. I also enjoy their self serve grains and nuts.

I like their produce selection, as it is larger in scope and fresher, and so far my produce from the coop has lasted longer. I like their bulk selection and prices as well. Their dairy selection is ok, although I felt their yogurt is too sugar packed, and they need a good plain nonfat no sugar yogurt. Their staff is very friendly and helpful, and they have a great salad bar, hot items bar, bakery, and deli. They have an owner's program too, where you get better deals on some food for $10 a year. Seems like a decent deal. I definitely recommend trying them out and seeing how they fit your grocery needs! Edit: I found a good plain Greek yogurt option at the Co-op since then that has no added sugar, so I'm bumping this up to 5 stars.

As a person with Celiac disease, it's great to have a grocery that offers fresh bakery goods, as well as a large variety of regular products that are safe for me to eat. I'm impressed that the prices are comparable to other grocery stores. (The co-ops I've visited in other states were significantly more expensive.) I also like seeing all the local sourcing.

I like the products but not everyone at the store is warm and friendly. Sometimes there are. I have felt like they were rushing to help me with questions in the health department. or push me to buy more than what I'm looking for. I get it, but still...and the extra products that I ended up buying which the lady said was great for energy, didn't really work. I get samples now before I buy their expensive supplements and teas. All in all, I will still shop there no matter what mood some people in. Their breads, cafe, hot foods, and so much more are worth it!

During my stay in SunPrairie WI, I had been frequent visitor to this store. They recently re-modeled the store and the store ambience is now as great as the items in the store. The organic items are worth the price. I specifically love the fresh vegetables. I recommend this store to anyone who wants to buy organic food items.

I made a stop here with my son last week while in Madison, and we were both beyond delighted to discover that they offer several gluten AND dairy free products! What started out as just a quick perusal of the snack isle (that I assumed would end in flat disappointment, as it usually does with other chain stores) turned into a lovely sit-down connection with my toddler in the café section, as we chatted over our end selection of jam-print cookies & turmeric lattes. To someone with multiple dietary restrictions, moments like these (that others might take for granted or see as silly) are beyond precious to me, because it's incredibly rare to find restaurants or shops that stock products I can safely eat without fearing an allergic reaction in one of us. Needless to say...our visit was one of the best days out we've had together in a long time, and we definitely plan on visiting Willy St. again very soon—only this time, we'll be bringing our bulk spice jars with us!

Great place though nearly invariably overpriced. Stopped purchasing milk here because it always went sour before the sell-by date. The hot foods are excellent - a quick and relatively cheap meal is had that way. Craft beer selection excellent. Some stuff you can't easily find will be found here.

Willy Street Co-op is full of fun unique items that inspire me to eat something new. The bulk section is amazing, including bulk coffee and spices. The produce section always has fresh and fun items to experiment with. Don't feel like cooking? They have an amazing hot and cold food bar, with something for everyone. Curious on how something tastes before you buy it? You can have a taste of almost anything in the store if you just ask. I definitely recommend becoming an owner if you shop here often so that you can take advantage of the owner's sales.
