REVIEWS OF New Seasons Market IN Washington

Aparoksha Nithyananda

I strongly feel that the prepared foods department has fallen in quality over the last couple of months, and has raised their wok prices by $2.00 and THEN skimp on the items they put in your bowl. Had asked for extra noodles a couple of times I've gotten it and both times the ladies that prepared the wok had forgotten to add them. Plus both times found hair in my food. It was too late to take it back as I work in Issaquah and had gotten the woks to go. There was a time when they used to load it up and it was cheaper and the service was fast and friendly! Now it seems like many of the employees I've encountered are uninterested in their jobs. Which I understand I guess. Who doesn't dream of something more exciting, but if you don't want to be there, do something else. I've been in that situation and then I correct it because I want to be inspired to come to work not dull and depressed. New Seasons Market is okay, they have good stuff. I mostly come here for lunch, so I visit the prepared foods and have felt disheartened at the decline in service. MIKE, DAMIAN and ANDREA are the best though, so if you meet them, you are in good hands!!

Solid grocery store in the vein of Whole Foods. The people working there are super nice and helpful, which is great because the aisle signs are awful. It is really hard to find things in the middle aisles between prepared foods and produce. Having said that, when I can find what I want, they stock really good products.

Laura McLeod

Gorgeous store, friendly and helpful staff, varied selection of products and brands (mostly green, sustainable but not exclusively), and comparable pricing (with good sales!). My first time in, I found the gift item I needed, discovered a couple of unfamiliar but intriguing brands, and a great price on Dr. Bronners.

Michael Z

Great place for trendy foods, organic foods, and the like. A bit pricier than QFC around the corner, but offers a terrific array of prepared food options as well. Huge selection of organic alternatives and local foods, but also your generic favorites if you aren't into organic foods. Great staff has been very helpful. Bakery also very good!

Alfred Mugho

Great people and quality offerings!

Jesse Gardner

Less expensive than PCC or whole foods. Closer to trader Joe's but more local, niche products. BY FAR my favorite grocery store!

Jeff Sloan

Two very nice electric car chargers, CHAdeMO & CCS/SAE

Pa G

Great deli, but CRAZY expensive

crclark333

Lovely grocery items that are a bit over-priced. Personable service, and the "bean donation jar" is a fun idea.

Sharon Meyer

The food was super nice. Servers were polite and very fast. Price was so reasonable.

Lisa VanHess

Great wine department! Great selection overall. Happy, friendly employees

james norton

New Seasons does grocery very well!

Jay Gore

Bryce and Chewy still have fresh seafood on lockdown. Dont pass go, go to freshies

Daniel Romine

Fantastic selection of cheeses and beers. High quality ingredients but you are paying for that. Helpful staff, clean environment, well laid out and a convenient alternative to Kroger on the island. I have yet to try the meats. They look great but are quite expensive compared to other markets.

Gwen Davis

Great natural food store! Beautiful interior, vibrant atmosphere and excellent selection. I could hang out in here all day! Very impressive array of house plants, beauty products, cleaning supplies, foods and aromatherapy options. (Much, much better than the former grocery store that was in this location before, Albertsons. Stepping it up a notch!)

LE Hardisty

This morning, Christmas Eve day, the staff were wonderfully, "assertively" helpful as I shopped for a complex menu: not only truly listening to what I sought, but actively locating one possibility after another. The final outcome was even better than planned. Thank you!

Sarah Groom

It doesn’t matter what time of day you arrive, expect long lines at checkout. I dread going because of it.

Dutch Stiphout

Excellent food, excellent selection. Very healthy and fresh, and they have a great butcher. Not the best low-budget option in town, but well worth it for the quality stuff you can't find elsewhere.

M.L. Adleberg

The ice cream section is nicely stocked. On both occasions I visited the checkout clerk felt the need to disparage other businesses in the area. Pretty bizarre. Overall pretty underwhelming service and selection. That combined with stunning prices makes it tough for anything other than specialty items. There is ample parking which is refreshing.

Allison Kraft

What shopping should be like. They succeed in their goals for the “friendliest grocery in town.” You’ll find beautifully fresh produce, a large selection of meats, and so many vegetarian options. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and competent. They will let you try anything they sell. They have a small area where you can purchase coffee, wine, and beer and sit for a while. Their prices reflect the quality of their service.

Tyler Gerttula

Shawn or Sean in the beverage department is very knowledgeable and personable. I enjoyed my visit and his recommendations.

Geraldine Freeman

Love the market, fresh fruit and good food. Good customer service. Just overpriced.

Kasando Bosco

Only New Seasons location I could find in WA. Worth the drive no matter where you live in the state. Tight parking lot, but you can usually grab a spot. The best selection of local food and fun gifts. Great made to order hot dishes, meats, and cheeses. Favorite grocery store on the planet!

Sean Dougherty

Great groceries, fair prices for high quality goods, and some of the friendliest staff I've ever experienced. Not sure if you'll like something, ask for a sample, you'll be surprised and excited at the response.

Nikki Kincl

My new favorite grocery and place to have lunch. The wok bowls made fresh are so good!

Walter Lowe

Lots of quality products. Great for the selections but items in other grocery stores are cheaper for the same products.

Nate Larson

"Let your workers unionize" is the only big problem with New Seasons, other than the Whole Paycheck prices. Nice place.

Ciarra Vu

There’s a New Seasons on MI! But of course Mercer Island would be one of the first places to open up Portland’s local/organic grocery store. Portlanders love it and soon Washingtonians will too.

Kim Fackrell

We just attended a lovely wine tasting here. The wine steward was awesome. He open another bottle of wine in the style we liked just to get our opinion. Ended up buying a case of wine with their 20% case discount.

Billy Strong

Great selection of natural foods and supplements giving Whole Foods Market a run for there money. The Mandarin Oranges were yummy for this time of year.

Bob Xia

Good but pricey.

Robert Dorgan

I've only been here once and shopped in the deli which had a great selection and they also had some really cool environmentally friendly paper plates, bowls, and utensils for party supplies.

Piero Maggiani

Quality grocery store on Mercer Island, perfect for things we can't always find at our local QFC. Prices tend to be a little higher, but the quality of the product is usually better.

Steve M

Very woo woo. Nice coffee, wine, beer bar!! Very organic and ready to eat dood section.

Lance Rasmussen

Nice selection of a cross between PCC and Whole Foods.

Michael Mann

LOVE this store! Exceptional inventory, tons of choices, etc. It's a huge store, too. Well organized. Great hot bar and salad bar. A very impressive store and, in my humble opinion, puts PCC to shame. PCC could learn some things from the New Season's model.

QWERTY Qwerty

Never been profiled in a grocery store before but this is the first place where I felt bad using my reusable bag because they thought I was stealing. Was followed by 4 employees who kept asking me if I needed help with anything. Even asked me why I put a product back because I didn’t want to spend 50 bucks supporting this store. I did not feel welcome here and even made a customer in front of me in like uncomfortable. I will not be coming back to this store.Hi

Deedee Schaefer

My new go to. This is a wonderful market with wonderful selection of foods and health related products. Great customer service tops it off!

Daniel Tuttle

Really nice produce dept. Clean and easy to get to.

Arleen Hess

Clean store. Great selection of quality goods. Helpful professional staff.

Willow Moon

The store has a new policy. When you go for lunch, or dinner, you are unable to obtain plasticware. Their solution to The plastic garbage issue, is not to have biodegradable plastics; such as cellulose.… Their solution? To put the plastic ware where the checkout stand is. So… The same person that is handling money, is handling your plasticware. When I brought this to their attention, I heard “oh… That’s a good point! “I had a long talk, with the “Manager “, I told him how unsanitary this was. I expressed concern about measles and chickenpox being on the rise, and that the same people who handle the money are now handling the plasticware. I suggested they find a new solution. 48 hours later I walked in to buy my lunch, and there is no new solution. Apparently they don’t care. I do! I go there almost daily for lunch during my work week. If the utensils are handled with such lack of concern for bacteria and viral germ spreading, how is the bar food being treated any differently? And… I wonder how the health department feels about this. Here’s the deal New Seasons; how about investing in biodegradable plastic? Because you are not helping the environment, or your patrons at all. Especially with the recent rise of measles and chickenpox. The first day I encountered this I told the cashier I didn’t want her handling my fork, she took a tissue out of a box that was on her counter and held the tissue up for me; meaning...” I will use a tissue to pick up your fork.” I said “Anybody could have coughed or sneezed on that tissue, it’s been sitting right here” and I literally pointed to the box. Her response was… “Oh “, then she just stood there not knowing what to do. I am really sorry New Seasons… But I don’t want that kind of bacteria in my life. Money is notoriously dirty. Your cashiers don’t wear gloves. In fact the woman who held out the tissue to me had been wiping her nose with her finger prior to grabbing the tissue… This was my experience. This is NOT a reasonable solution to the plastic waste problem. You did this for you, not for the environment; and certainly not for us (your customer base) Please figure this out; because I cannot allow myself to be exposed to harm simply because it is convenient for you.

Emily Courtright

Nice, bright. Friendly checkout lady. Very expensive

Joe sBar

My first time there. The produce looked good. We ordered special steaks cut they were real good. Everything was expensive to me. Seem like very good quality. The check out was real slow and took 3 people to figure out how to ring up the meat. My son shops there a lot and he likes it.

N F

Fantastic spot to grab grab coffee and a pastry, or take advantage of their grocery store offerings

Alice Louie

Very nice store, friendly, knowledgeable staff

Mike Richeson

Lots of good, fresh, quality food and one of the best happy hours in the Seattle area.

peedublyou

This place is somewhere between Whole Foods and PCC. It's more practical than Whole Foods, but has similar range of choice. It has some of the community engagement that PCC offers. It's a welcome alternative to the chain grocery stores.

Latia Daquila

I absolutely love this grocery store! It's small and offers a family feel to it. Lots and lots of healthy, local, and/or organic products available. Foods that may be hard to find for gluten-free, paleo, ketogenic, or other diets, can be found here. Good quality supplements, too. They have a deli, espresso, and even beer and wine on tap. It's like a smaller Whole Foods.

Paul Zenone

What a great place to shop Everything looked Amazing and the customer service was Outstanding !!!!

scott sammons

New Seasons is a welcome Portland store to the already great selection of grocery stores in the Seattle area. It has things the others do not, including their low-fat organic ground beef. Our homemade burgers have been incredible! They have a special small housewares section that has the latest hand crafted cups and mugs. Prices are competitive on some items, not on others. But it is generally not crowded, new, clean, with a great selection. It is a welcome stop on my commute home between Bellevue and Seattle.

Grace Morency

My favorite place for gluten free items. Especially the Portland made New Cascadia brand of breads.

Theresia McLynne

Love this new store! It's a little more expensive, although they do have some items at a great price (& others items that are hard to find elsewhere). Love the variety in their hot (& cold) food bars. And their organic veggies are wonderful (best fresh turmeric in the city & it's organic, too!)♥

Elizabeth Sikes

Very amazing food, has a great deli and restuarant that seems to be the hangout for locals. Expensive of course

Jessica Aguilar

Great local grocery store with healthy food. Prices are very affordable!

Ilya Macke

Great place to to get good food for home.

V-Dawg V-Logs V-Games

Insanely over priced food doesn’t stop the staff from being kind and helpful everyday, and it doesn’t stop me from shopping here. Although I don’t shop here often, it’s nice to go once in a while knowing most of their stuff is organic, if they could everything would, but somethings just can’t be organic. They are like an organic version of a larger QFC with more options. There used to be an Albertsons here and when it was being shut down, everything is on sale. Stuff from 50%off to almost 80%off. It’s hard going from those prices to normal prices. No big issue arose from that though.

Rachel Fowler

A very nice grocery store. The guys are very helpful. Also, the produce are of high quality. Great location too!

Wicksell Metellus

A great, local grocery store. Everything is always fresh from the fruits, to the vegetables, and even meats. The selection is wide and there’s excellent local options from farmers and local makers. The hot food bar is great too!

Dipankar Patro

I fell for the hype and went there for a couple of times to try their prepared food section. Every time the food had bad taste and I got sick the next day. Whatever they are using, it is clearly not mentioned on the display boards at all. Last time, their vegan burger tasted like there was some expired ingredient in it. The store is a prettier version of QFC in my opinion. Nothing special in terms of quality of products except for Bakery and Seafood section. The place is a bit pricey too.

Ima Eastsidegurl

Such a fabulous grocery store! Fresh, local, excellent selection. Great customer service. Worth a drive to Mercer Island (or Amazon Prime Now order).

Evan Stewart

Ok Seattle / Bellevue - this is your best bet for a future grocery chain, at least I really believe so. New Seasons has properly revolutionized the food industry and culture in Portland. Giving it your attention should be at least attempted. If you are lured by organic and want your budget to stay in check. If you want to explore new products but also want to grab somethhing else generic. If you are hungry for to-go food; customized to holy hell, or prepared to taste with the freshest practices. If you want to support local farms, and artisans. If you want the friendliest staff, that makes you think & feel, why would we replace cashiers with scanners/robots??

Matt S

Best store on Island, their garlic bread is amazing!

Loreen Painter

This is a cool store...

Barbara Quinn

Super nice, staff lots of unusual items

Brittany Trujeque-Boyer

Amazon Prime now comes from this place. I adore it everything is perfect and of good Quality, and the amazon shopper Jeff H. Is the best I have ever dealt with, helpful, friendly, and willing to help you through any replacements or non deliverable items. 100% will do it over and over again!

Npauj Lee

Nice place newly built a year ago? Pricey and some deals ok. Will come back

Andrew Le

Came in on a Sunday night. Not that many customers like Albertsons, etc. Upscale place with higher prices... Nice clean bathrooms. And they had some samples to try though-out the store. And fairly clean.

M Yo

Nice neighborhood place: like a Whole Foods but smaller, cuter, more nimble and homey

teachermark777

Unpleasant management. Too pricey.

Tim Mather

Love this place. Nice staff, great foods. Wine is a bit pricey.

Jennifer Hanzsek

I enjoy the store samples and the burrito bar. Some great vegan options in the deli most days too.

nick amundson

best of both (grocery) worlds- safeway meets whole foods! beautiful store with large selection from every department offering organic, local, and value brands all under one roof. friendly service and vast take-away food section

Sarah Odegaard

Very hit and miss with customer service. Don't expect help or for them to issue a refund for a defective item.

Nature Calls

Lots of great bard like pasta and said bars. Some name brand but mostly unique more healthy brands. But you should be able to buy what you normally do

Don Normann

Beyond the dizzying presentations of marvelous food, having the unique opportunity to sample wines, beers, cheeses and almost everything else at their in-store bar really made the day. Welcome! And thank you everything you bring to us.

Stewart Wang

Fast becoming the new MI neighborhood hangout spot. Good food, drinks and more..

Lorraine Abing

Even after I moved to West Seattle, I still shop here when I'm in the area. The folks are always so cheery and friendly, always so helpful. Really handy to shop as you can find everything else here on your list that you can't find across the street and most of the time they have better prices. Not to mention plenty of parking. If I have uncommon ingredients to find I usually check here first before ordering online.

Cassandra Lai

Love the atmosphere of this market. Have a pretty good selections of local and organic foods.

Debra Anderson

Excellent food, excellent selection. Very healthy and fresh, and they have a great customer service.

Elizabeth Jackson

It nicer and bigger then a safeway

Amy Steed

Love the salad, soup and hot bar here. Great selection of high end chocolate bars, too. And they sell beautiful French tea towels.

Robert Goldstein

The staff is incredibly helpful.

Margaret Lewis

Nice clean little neighborhood grocery store. Standard line of products you'd expect from any major grocery chain.

Charlie Young

Great bulk food, coffee, and vegan selection.

Ginny Lee

Rudest grocery store staff I have ever come across

A D

The store is very esthetically pleasing and the employees are friendly and helpful. Its extremely expensive even for Mercer Island standards. Regular items you can find at any store are hugely marked up. It has a nice eating area and you can have a glass of wine or beer. They should have an acoustic guitar player or something, that would be very nice.

D E

Good selection.

Julie Trisler

I always loved this store in Oregon and was very excited when it came to Washington. Definitely a let down, the prices were much higher and selection was not good

Jessica Crist

Love this place. Best salad bar ever!!!

Massimiliano Rizzo

Amazing, better than WFM.

Cynthia Moon

Some things are super expensive and others are a bargain, great selections.

Michael Natkin

Nice high end grocery. Produce is usually in good shape. I think they could do a much better job with their salad and hot bar though.

Melinda Williams

Wow! Fresh organic food and excellent customer service! Love it!

Yana Sosnovskaya

one of the best organic grocery store close to Seattle. It's a bit pricey, but it worth to come time to time to buy some real organic food. They have some unique products as well to compare with cheaper grocery stores such as QFC.

He Consul

Nice place and Price is very cheap .. and all ppl who's working in there very happy and helpful

David Tootill

Very nice well laid out grocery store with an excellent deli. A little pricey, though

Scott Dowling

Latest competition in the organic healthy food and grocery business. This store is located on Mercer Island. All their products are organic and / or have a healthy focus to them. Staff was very helpful and friendly; good sales event going on when we were there. They also have a wine / food dining section with plenty of seating so that you can come and enjoy a meal while shopping.

David Ritt

Great, except I wish they were a union shop. I try to limit shopping there for that reason.

Nancy McClinch

Top quality produce, good bakery, excellent meat and seafood selection. Pricey, but worth it!

Susan Conrad-Wang

Amazing customer service.

Xtian Gunther

New Seaons is funny. It's likeable, feels like it should be loveable (but isn't quite). It has a bounty of natural and 'nearly natural' foods but also feels a bit lacking compared to some other natural grocers it competes with. New Seasons closes early (10p) and only stocks some of their best items seasonally or occassionally. It feels a bit upscale whitey suburban and risk-averse. Prices are generally high, too. Their hot bar and deli underwhelm. Still, it has many pros: good sales, good (expensive) produce, they pioneered Tony's Chocolate in the disUSA (!), a decent all-organic in house bread baking program, their house label stuff is decent quality or better, they carry great alfajores, their soups are GREAT and their employees are usually friendly and very nice. This particukar store also carries a few kosher items that are hard to find in the Sesttle area (NYC-style black & white cookies!!). Three big gripes: 1) over-reliance on rotten palm oils and shortenings 2) I've seen cakes here with shortening and even hydrogenated oils 3) bring back the italian rainbow cookies and stock them year-round.

Donna Watkins

Nice clean grocery store.Well stoked with very helpful staff.

Shaun Brennan

Excellent produce, meat, seafood, and dairy. Price is comparable to Fred Meyer's Organic offerings, and less expensive than Whole Foods.

I'm Lovinglife

Ive changed my rating for this place. The last few times in come in to get food from the prepared food department there hasn't been anyone there to help me. And when they finally did show up to help, they were not very happy to be working. Today I waited and waited for someone. There were a lot of people in the kitchen but only one person working the counter at the far end by the pastries. No one said anything to me or even looked at me. At one point someone walked my direction and I thought he was coming to help me but he never even looked at me either. He just turned and went to the kitchen. It's 11:30. There should be people working the counters! I'm leaving hungry and taking my business elsewhere.

TheRentFan

Great selection of natural, local produce, but it doesn't match up very well with the Instacart (delivery service) catalogue.

India Harmsen

Such a great market! The produce is top-notch, and often features local products on special. The staff is more helpful than any market I've ever been to. Our family loves that in exchange for a tiny reimbursement for bringing your own bags, you can choose to donate to a local cause. This is especially fun and a great teaching moment for our kids, who get to choose for themselves which organization they would like to support. Prices are on the higher side, but equatable to Whole Foods, and for the quality shopping experience they offer, I feel that you get what you pay for here!

carlomm99

Posh & rich grocery experience, but mostly overpriced. Cafe/bar section with great drinks but very impersonal setting.

Frank Kroger

New Seasons Markets does not treat it's workers well Avoid

colin godby

I love the quality of the produce compared to QFC, the beer selection, butcher and coffee bar/cooked foods. They could improve on their bread selection/quality (grand central or more Macrina), and prices could be a little more competitive, but overall great to have nearby and act as our go-to store.

Kelli O'Brien

Good organic section. Fresh produce. Good variety of cereal.

Lusako Njwaba

Upscale grocery store...but then again this is Mercer Island.

Carola Allan

This store is aways my first choice to get a delicious coffee and fresh baked bread. The staff is always very gracious and helpful

Kyle Givogre

Good alternative food options

Robert Lowe

It seems like they are good to their employees and all the staff have been Amazing but I have had some issues so i do not frequent the store much anymore. I hope they get the staff in the deli situated and trained..

Minmin Han

Good quality produce. Didnt try but saw good steak selection.

Jason R.D

The most friendly place ive ever worked.

Stowys

The prices are high. Whole Foods is cheaper, bit farther away. Meh.

Teddy Boysen

Knowledgeable staff. Good variety of produce.

Bonnie Lundgren

A fun fancy place. I wouldn't shop here regularly, but their deli/restaurant is awesome. Thanks, Aunt Carol for taking us out for a treat!

Gordon Bonaci

Excellent service and selection.

Ryan Strahl

Very nice market. Lots of options to choose from and most of them are on the healthier side, or at least are marketed that way. Keep in mind it's a market in one of the more upscale areas of Seattle, so bring your big boy wallet.

Jordan Whitley

Has the same feel and atmosphere as Whole Foods. Friendly employees, and the food in the self-serve area was good.

Miranda Corzine

Staff here goes above and beyond to help you. Always great fruit and food to try out by the produce area. A great selection of all my favorites. I've never liked a grocery store more before coming here. I would love it if they expanded the bulk section, it's so incredibly nice to be able to buy the amounts you need.

Sriram Balakrishnan

Little costly. But ok for what they advertise as organic only shop. Quality is good. Staff treat u good.

Melissa Canales

Love their ready to cook meats. Never too salty like so many others. The Orange sage Dijon pork chops are absolutely delicious!

Colin Webb

They live up to their motto the friendliest Market you ever gone to

Noelle McClure

Great selection, usually not too crowded. I wish they would stock Coyo yogurt though!

blondie szilagy

This is an awesome place to shop, eat and have fun discovering new options for anyone in your family. Also the staff are amazing
