The prices for the produce are great and they have a large selection. It's just the the cleanliness is somewhat lacking and the over whelming smell when you enter ( I believe it's from the fresh fish).

This is the best grocery market around it has so many vegetables and variety of foods it's just plain and simple incredible. O and did I mention the fish market where they cut and clean your fish. One of the biggest varieties around that I've seen period from filets steaks to the whole fish ready to go. I love it. I wish there were more grocery stores like it.

On a Saturday night they lock the doors five minutes earlier than the posted time of 945 and for someone that just wanted to running to pick up something in 30 seconds still leaves like another 4 1/2 minutes and I know it may seem petty but they’re supposed to be open until the time of closing. Why don’t you just put 930 then? Not returning.

This place used to be best of all oriental groceries 10-15 years ago. Low prices, wide selection of exotic foods. Unfortunately popularity didn't do much good for this place, service & quality of produce went down, prices way up compared to other oriental stores. Wanted to buy tomatoes but couldn't find firm ones all tomatoes were soft almost like rotten. Wanted to buy 1 fish, waited half an hour, asked them fish cutters to give me that fish 3 times and was ignored every time. So I just went to another oriental place half a mile away, got the fish within 5 minutes and priced 1 dollar less per pound. Also noticed that their produce less expensive as well and looks better, fresher. That being said, between these two stores, grand mart certainly won't get much of my business from now on.

This is a pretty large store with a lot of things. They also have prepared food. I only gave them 3 stars because they did not have what I visited them to buy today. They did not have moon cakes. I asked and was told they sold out. Next time I will have to learn to call ahead and ask to save myself a trip.

We no longer live in Hampton Roads, but we make it a point to stop at Grand Mart whenever we are back in town. Their prices are great and they carry just about everything I could hope for to satisfy my cravings. We always load up on medium grain calrose rice, kamaboko, kimchee, and longanisa! Not to mention all the awesome seafood and fruits at great prices.

Never enough registers/cashiers working. Spend more time waiting to be checked out then you spend shopping. Store is clean fully stocked, staff is nice and friendly always willing to help.

Stinks so bad I want to vomit just being close to the store. When the doors open the wafting smell of fish is over powering. Sometimes they have good prices for watermelon so I go here but otherwise, I avoid it whenever possible! I call it stinky mart.

I have been coming here for quite a few years and the place has changed for the worse. I went yesterday 6-21-19 with my husband and before we even got to the door, you could smell nasty fish smell. The produce was not fresh, the floors were filthy and we saw some rotting vegetables. We usually stop at the restaurant in the back and get dinner to take home, we ordered the same meals we normally do and it was the worst I have ever had. The people that were there, lost their contract and there are new people cooking. We were all disappointed, the beef Bulgogi was nothing but fat and we ended up throwing it out, it was too gross to eat. I don't know what's going on over there but it's not good, at all.

I love this store. It's not like you'd expect at a grocery chain, plus there's a ton of cool stuff in here. Great food and ingredients - Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Middle Eastern, Hispanic - don't freak out, the smell can take some getting used to, just give it a chance. Set aside a good 45 minutes or more so you can really see what's available. Good prices too, I love popping in here! Had to pick up "a little tea".

This place has a much larger vegetable and seasoning variety then any where else we have come accross. On top of that their meat prices are very low. Comparable to Aldi's in prices for meat.

Amazing place to find international foods, added a lot of spices to my spice rack for relatively cheap. Has lots of produce you can't find at normal supermarkets. Cleanliness in the meat section could use some work, but other than that it is definitely a place I come back to time and again to get things I can't find elsewhere for a decent price.

This store has everything that the regular stores don't. The seafood dept is well supplied and many choices. If you are making a international dish and need something to make it they more than likely will have it. The produce dept has many different fruits and vegetables that you won't find at farm fresh

A huge selection of fresh produce, fish, and meats. The first few aisles of grocery are Asian, then Mexican, and finally American. A variety of frozen foods, and a kitchen serving hot food is also available. In the back is a houseware area. Great variety of different cultures!

Drove all the way from Williamsburg to buy fish for a party. The guy who cuts fish told me he wont clean the fish after 8. I was right there waiting from 7:45. They lost $250 worth business. Not at all customer friendly.

We shop mainly for seafood here. We are never disappointed. The have a wide selection of fruit as well. Being from California and Mexican, it's nice to find international such as Mexican candy. Lots of Asian foods too.

Their wide range of international fruits and vegetables where outstanding. The spices and cooking tools are unique and hard to find elsewhere. However, I found the store to be too crowded with products as if they need a bigger space to properly stock the inventory. Because its so overstock cleanliness is lacking a bit and peraonally i couldnt bring myself to buy meat or fish because of some wierd odors and questionable expiration dates.

I have sooo grown to love this place. I wish i was up on this natural remedy stuff years ago when i first went in there but it’s never too late. Anyway, I decided to go in the market to see if i can find things that i was originally planning to get from wal mart and they ended up having everything i needed not to mention cheaper. Other things i thought i would only be able to buy online....they have it!!! Considering the expense of trying to live better on a budget.... i found much of the produce, etc to be more affordable and natural than the average food store. Oh and I’m having the experience of trying fruits and vegetables that i have either only heard about or thought was made up. Lol well, other stores have been helpful but I’ll be checking this place for everything first from now on and not just for food products.

I'm not from this state or area but this is a market that I look for in every state / city that I've lived and this market didn't disappoint me in the least. You want good Kimchi they have it. Fish that will be cleaned for you and all the fruits a vegetables you can't find or wanted to try. I would tell anyone around to put this place on the list to shop one time. If you've ever been out of the Country and looking for something you can seem to find at Kroger or others , this is the place. Please don't go by looks, but see for yourself. I live a good way from this place but I make it there at least twice a month for exotic peppers, fish or really good plantains The fresh herbs are worth the trip . You should go just to visit and see, you can change your home menu for sure. I'm giving this 5 stars not for the looks but because you will uncover foods that you won't find in normal Markets and it's a decent price. You need a Market like this in your life but you just don't realize it yet. Enjoy !

I love the place and plan to go back but there's a disconnect with the seafood department and me. I get my fish cleaned but I always tell them that I want the bones, tails and head(for stock) but I never get it.

Nobody wanted to help us w finding what we were looking for and when we went to check out, the cashier threw our food into the plastic bags as if to rush us out. Cleanliness is very necessary in these stores because the compost smell mixed with raw meat and seafood smell quickly becomes just stinky. International Market stores are very often considered unsanitary for just that reason, but the Grand Mart I've visited in Richmond and now here in Va beach are enjoyable shopping because they stay clean.

They Have alot of Different types of Cooking Oils, Marinating Sauces such as Soy Sauce, SOYU, etc. Alot of Dried Grains, Many type of Rice, Many Type of Dried Beans, Many Types of Noodles n Pasta, Even Seaweed for Sashimi, n Sushi. Many type of Seasonings From Asia, Latino Countries, Carribean And from Many Other countries Abroad available under One Roof. Dont See a Particular Item you are Looking For??? Ask Managment, it's high Possible that can Order it for You. They also have Cookware Section that You can Buy that it is Reasonable Price, Effecient, and Affordable. This is an International and seafood specialty grocery srore. And the selection in the varieties of vegetables are like none other in our area. Customer service is not bad at all, when you need help. The place is always packed! The price is very competitive or better. I am glad, they are around to offer us the things that are not available else where.
