I just moved into the neighborhood and was happy that this Harmon's was just a few blocks from me. They do have a good selection, especially of local products and great produce. But when I compare it to Smith's I found that I spend on average 50-75 dollars more per month, buying mostly the same products. So a great place to pick up some local items and produce, but you are better off shopping somewhere else for the majority of products so you can save some money.

Produce is fresh, deli is top notch. If you want the best quality produce, meat, deli and bakery foods, this is your place. They also are very eco friendly with lots of bulk items and have paper bags available for those of us that prefer a more recyclable solution. Of course, reusable bags are available at every checkers too.

Wonderful selection of food. Can't find it at more common grocers? Harmon's may have it. But, you're going to pay for it. Most things are more costly than your more common grocery stores. Friendly and helpful staff especially for the older shoppers. I would say 4.5 stars if they weren't more expensive than other stores.

Everytime I visit this store I am treated with absolutely the best service. The employees are fast and courteous, clean and dressed appropriately. I feel that it is a little expensive on high end items but the service and respect as a customer makes up for the prices. Harmons has the best selection of adult drinks you can find, of course it is hard to there before the shelf is sold out.

There are a lot of things to love about this Harmons and all Harmons in general including the amount of local and artisan items they rotate in and out. What isn't great about this location is that the produce selection is fairly abysmal, particularly if you don't feel like paying an absurd amount of money for an organic only selection. The most frustrating part is their bakery which theoretically has a lot of potential. Their bakery couldn't bake a decent loaf of bread of their lives depended on it. Their french baguettes are typically so over-baked that the ends are dark dark brown and sometimes even black. Every. Single. Time. So I thought we would try the french county round loaf. Well turns out the center of it was completely raw - like dough stuck to my fingers, stone cold raw. We ended up using the ends then throwing away the center because we didn't feel like playing russian roulette with our tummy. Needless to say, a little bit of QC would go a long way because it isn't like this at every location - their bread used to be some of the best grocery store baguettes.

There's many things to consider when shopping with Haroms. While the stores are pleasing to the eyes and offers a few, okay maybe a bit more than a few, unique and somewhat gourmet food items people pay a premium for. In my opinion the premium prices spill into the everyday shoppers costs also by the maintenance of the highest cost items that expires just as all food items do. Again my opinion, the everyday consumer (99%) pays for the 1%, much like our nation, to enjoy and partake in the finer things via the 99 percentile paying higher prices to cater to the 1%. Don't get me wrong... it's a nice place there's just a lot of buts! This organization learned from RC Willey or visas versa RC Willey learned from Harmons how to collect on insurance by burning down a run down establishment and booting a restart from the insurance proceeds. Again these are just my opinions, nothing more. But if interested in how the 1% gets to be the 1% these companies are a textbook example. Again... these are my options and nothing more. Like I say to other layperson explore, learn, apply, and hope for the outcome of a few others. The merchandising is very well done, very well done. Great job actually... by giving consumers a sense of assumed higher quality, not suggesting that in some categories Harmons has pushed and introduced higher quality products (but again you pay a premium for those items... while the higher prices are attached to everyday products as well). Haroms is a quality supermarket that offers a selection of products you may not find at other mass retail stores which is awesome for the palette... are mass consumed items at other supermarkets offered at a substantial discount compared to Harmons worth the eye candy experience? I will say again... these are just my opinions nothing more. Enjoy shopping at your local Harmons or wherever you decide to exchange your rewards (money) at...?

I love Harmons! This location is great and super convenient not far from where I live and the food they serve is quality which is nice! I can come here for dinner and get a healthy salad and pick out exactly what I want or don't want on it. The only thing I wish for the salad bar is that they would put labels so people that have allergies can know if anything was cooked with dairy or gluten, or any other allergies. I have dairy and gluten allergies so those ones come to mind first! The other thing is if they could label what is in the salad bar that would make a worlds difference. Even though it's pretty obvious, sometimes you don't know what's in something or just in general I guess.

The ONLY reason I am giving 2 stars is because the employees here are amazing and sincere. The prices are a bit high. The main reason for my review however, is my pharmacy experience. So I have 2 health insurances, and I gave them both of my cards, and had been doing this for about a year. They never said a word to me, but apparently they never billed my secondary insurance and all the costs were being taken put of my father's flex spending. I didn't notice until I was charged for a prescription and called in the next day and they have no record of my secondary insurance. I always gave them the card, so I have no idea why they would never tell me they were not billing that insurance. I asked if there was any way to re bill it and the guy told me no. So I found out that my dad's account was short $200 due to their error. So I called back and asked to speak to a manager who was not available. So I asked the man I was speaking to how I could get the prescriptions re billed. In less than 2 minutes he re billed a prescription and I got an $8 difference for 1 transaction, so it was possible and I have no idea why no one did this in the first place or at least why they didn't tell me. So now I am waiting and having to deal with 2 insurance companies to get the rest of my prescriptions re billed because they were past the pharmacy time limit. I am furious about this and will NEVER use this pharmacy again. (Also, as a side note, I was given the wrong prescription for 2 months before they realized the error, so something to think about before trusting these people with your medication.)

When your reason for existing is to sell things, maybe teach your cashiers how to run their register. I just wasted 15 minutes of my life because the cashier couldn’t figure out Apple Pay, or how to void a transaction. Meanwhile there wasn’t a manager to be found, excellent customer service!

Harmons has a really good Salad Bar near the Deli- , but way over-priced! I usually just went there for items on sale, but no longer get their ads in the Tribune or other ad offerings.When shopping there I have noticed their prices are generally higher than Smith's or Walmart. An example: La Victoria Salsa Brava $2.89 at Harmons, $1.54 at Walmart. Donuts are $1.00 each at Harmons, they are $0.59 at Smith's.I usually just go there when I'm in a bind for time and have to pick something up quick.Not my choice for my usual grocery needs...too pricey.

You can't go wrong with Harmon's. While this store is in need of a refresh, the quality of items available is not lacking. The staff are, for the most part quite amiable and helpful and there seems to be enough cashiers on when it is busy. If definitely recommend this over other nearby grocers.

I completed their email survey with my complaint and within an hour, the E-shop manager called to sincerely apologize, explained how he was going to fix the problem internally so it didn't happen again, and comped me for the item I had a problem with + a little extra for the inconvenience. All within less than an hour from the time I submitted my complaint. Harmons grocery is the pinnacle of customer service. They take such good care of their customers; it's such a refreshing difference from Smiths or Walmart.

This is a nice grocery store with an above average deli, bakery, and freshly prepared food section. Because it is generally above average i went there to buy pickles, but they are barely average in their pickle selection: No traditional, old world, or German style pickles. Just rows and rows of duplicate cheap quality big box brands and a few new super premium cost hipster selections at eye level. I am sure they can order them, but this is just a symptom of a larger issue that sacrifices selection for profit

I went to the brickyard branch. Have question about mushrooms at mediterranean bar. Approached the ladies at the food bar, all too busy to make eye contact and when they finally see you they reluctantly help. It is not going to hurt to be nice to customers besides helping customers is part of their job.

They're about the same cost as anywhere else in town. And I have to admit my addiction to these stupid things! A lot of my co-workers get the salads here and just adore them. Because I'm a meat monster, I bypass the salads and go straight for the chicken tenders! I also bypass the salads and go straight to the bakery because who would want salads when you can go straight for donuts!?! So let my co-workers eat salad while I have chicken tenders and donuts

Best stop for bakery items! They always have beautiful treats great for a BBQ or for a birthday and reasonably priced in comparison to specialty bakeries. They also offer free tastes! Parking can be a bummer with the continuous parking between the bank drive thru and the strip mall connected to the store, but otherwise, we really enjoy this location.

I absolutely LOVE this store, with exception of one issue; while it's always spotless, and hands down the best customer service in town, the prices are out of control! I could never afford to do my regular monthly shopping there, but will continue to do my "run in and grab a few things" there as I have done for years. I've taken the time to price compare with the other 3 local stores; I love you, Harmon's, but you are literally TRIPLE the price of the other stores in the neighborhood. Although I'm grateful for the great customer service, I just don't feel like it's worth TRIPLE the cost to feed my family.

What to say? If you're looking for higher quality, wider variety and better customer service than your average grocery store than Harmon's is the place for you. This is a busy location so expect to not be the only one in there, but they usually have lots of registers open and self checkout as well.

I shop here often because they're close and their produce is usually really good. Prices for other things like dairy are high so I shop elsewhere for things like that. My only complaint is the staff is always so serious. Smile once in a while peeps. I'm not going so far as to call them rude but close. I don't know if it's a management issue, a company culture thing or what but I always feel like the cashiers can't wait till I leave.

Oh man. Shoppers paying Harmon's via check for their groceries: BEWARE. My mom shops at this location weekly to buy groceries for my grandmother in Sugar House. Harmon's sent my mother to collections this week due to the technical malfunction of their check scanning equipment. The scanner stretched out the routing and account number, resulting in a bounced check (clearly Harmon's mistake). Rather than calling the phone number or sending a letter to the address on the upper hand corner of the check, Harmon's hastily sent my mom to collections and blacklisted her checking account with Bonneville Collections. Once my Mom received word from the collections agency via post, she reached out to Harmon's, her bank, and the collection agency. Of course, she was happy to pay for the groceries and clear the accidental debt; she didn't want free groceries. Unfortunately, Harmon's employee's rejected my mothers request to remove her name from their collections on the basis this debt was a technical mistake made on the part of their company. Now, not only does she have to pay an additional $20 fee to the collections agency, she also has her personal credit stained by Harmon's irresponsibility. Shame on Harmon's financial department and their customer service's poor handling of the situation.

I have been a Harmon's customer since the early 70's, partly because they are a local business but mostly I have in the past received above average service. For the past year I have received very poor service at the Brickyard Harmon's. The focal point being the pharmacy, they have no idea what service means at all. I have moved my business else where and recommend if you want better service try another place to get it. I doubt the Harmon brothers will ever get to see this but the Brickyard store needs their attention.

I love shopping at Harmons but today I was very disappointed. We went to the bakery to check it out and saw burned pretzels for sale. These were the large pretzel bread types. Burned is not the correct word. These were BURNT up breads. Shame on you Harmons. These should have been given out for free to feed the birds. Other than that the meat man was very helpful.

Specifically, this review is about their salad bar. I like salads, and my wife suggested it. Like the store itself, the salad bar was big. It was also messy, badly stocked and the utensils were covered with the greasy debris of hundreds of people handling them with food on their hands. The dressing bottles were a mess, with their contents coating the outside of the plastic bottles. The floor around the salad bar was covered with various vegetable bits and other assorted chunks of food that had fallen down and not been cleaned. By the time I had finished making my salad, my hands felt like I had dipped them into a bottle of oily sludge. It's as if the employees hadn't bothered to clean or restock anything. But the worst part came at the checkout counter. The total for our two less-than-appetizing salads came to twenty-four dollars! With those kinds of prices, the store could easily hire a full-time person to look after the salad bar to make sure it's well-stocked and, most important, clean.

First I went to my local harmons in Kearns UT to get a Coconut milk yogurt, since I am dairy free, they didn't have it ...so I went to the Harmons in Sugar House , UT...since this store usually has a wider variety, I thought they would have it, but they said they don't carry it as my longer...I guess us dairy free folks are not catered to by Harmons...I found what I was looking for at Whole Foods instead.

I absolutely LOVE this store, with exception of one issue; while it's always spotless, and hands down the best customer service in town, the prices are out of control! I could never afford to do my regular monthly shopping there, but will continue to do my "run in and grab a few things" there as I have done for years. I've taken the time to price compare with the other 3 local stores; I love you, Harmon's, but you are literally TRIPLE the price of the other stores in the neighborhood. Although I'm grateful for the great customer service, I just don't feel like it's worth TRIPLE the cost to feed my family.

What to say? If you're looking for higher quality, wider variety and better customer service than your average grocery store than Harmon's is the place for you. This is a busy location so expect to not be the only one in there, but they usually have lots of registers open and self checkout as well.

My only complaint is the staff is always so serious. Smile once in a while peeps. I'm not going so far as to call them rude but close. Oh man. Shoppers paying Harmon's via check for their groceries: BEWARE. My mom shops at this location weekly to buy groceries for my grandmother in Sugar House. Harmon's sent my mother to collections this week due to the technical malfunction of their check scanning equipment. The scanner stretched out the routing and account number, resulting in a bounced check (clearly Harmon's mistake). Rather than calling the phone number or sending a letter to the address on the upper hand corner of the check, Harmon's hastily sent my mom to collections and blacklisted her checking account with Bonneville Collections. Once my Mom received word from the collections agency via post, she reached out to Harmon's, her bank, and the collection agency. Of course, she was happy to pay for the groceries and clear the accidental debt; she didn't want free groceries. Unfortunately, Harmon's employee's rejected my mothers request to remove her name from their collections on the basis this debt was a technical mistake made on the part of their company. Now, not only does she have to pay an additional $20 fee to the collections agency, she also has her personal credit stained by Harmon's irresponsibility. Shame on Harmon's financial department and their customer service's poor handling of the situation.

Harmon's is a very appealing place to shop. Their produce section is beautifully laid out and the fruits and veggies are ready to eat without being "on their way out". I was particularly impressed with the avocado selection. The downside of Harmon's is the expense, which is significantly higher than any supermarket I've shopped in Salt Lake City, possibly even higher than Whole Foods. It's pretty steep for Utah. However, this place is so visually appealing and has such an interesting array of gourmet foods and other unusual items that it is worth the splurge once a month or so.

Came in and was pleasantly surprised to find Gabriella in the deli. I have had the pleasure of doing business with her at your West Valley store and 7th street location and she is the best. I've always loved the quality of the deli at Brickyard but the customer service has been so luclaster and sometimes downright unfriendly in the past. I don’t live in this area. I came here to simply purchase a gift card for my sister on my way to see her. I tried to purchase it at the self checkout because it was the only thing I was getting. I was told I have to go to a checkout line and that I should have read the price sheet on top of the self checkout. Her bagger kept saying I need to show my ID no matter the amount and that I couldn’t use my credit card, but the cashier kept saying she didn’t care, no body had told her that and she just didn’t care. Harmons is overpriced anyways so I wouldn’t spend my money on their groceries, but their employees do not care.

HIGH PRICES, HORRIBLE GIFT CARD SYSTEM. This store seems nice enough, but there are a couple of things I don't like about Harmons in general. The main problem is that prices on almost all items are higher than at other grocery stores. The other issue is how bad the Harmon's gift card system is. I got a gift card a little over a year ago. When I went to use it today at the store, it said "invalid", and when I try to check the balance over the phone and online it says the same thing. Then I saw the inactivity fee policy on the back of the card: if the card is not used for 12 months, they apply a $2 fee per month RETROACTIVELY, which means they recently applied $24 of fees against the card balance, taking it down to zero. It's not unusual for a gift card to have an inactivity fee, but I've never seen one which applies it retroactively. Maybe that's why my card won't work, but I'll never know because their system apparently can't give me any information. Not very impressive, Harmons.

One time a male employee was just chatting with somebody as I made 2 trips around the kiosk and no acknowledgment. But obviously needing assistance, I just left. At the same time, another employee asked the same guy a question and he was brushed off.

Great customer service. The people here do a great job with helping load groceries, an excellent in-store pharmacy, and top of the line deli and bakery. To top it off they are located adjacent to a America First Credit Union and many other retail stores.

Nope! I will never go back! This store feels like a regular grocery store. Kinda ghetto feeling. The dinning area is tiny sub-par. I always go to Harmon's because we live Davis County and work in Salt Lake for the quality of food but I will stick to downtown location or emigration now on! I went through the self-checkout and the lady came up to me and checked my bag and looked at my stroller. She was right there next me the whole time! I was on the register closest to her! She treated me like a common criminal! I'm so upset! It's not my fault if she wasn't paying attention or whatever her problem was. I am not grungy, I have a brand new EXPENSIVE! stroller so what's up? I wonder what kind of pressure management must put on people! Boo

I usually love it. But lately it seems harder and harder to find low calorie, low-fat choices. Today I was looking for both diet ice cream and diet salad dressing and I didn't seem to be a whole lot of choices compared to other stores.
