Friendly staff. Carries national and store brands. Older but clean store. Good prices on everything, also carries wine. Special attention paid to disabled customers by helping them with their shopping and carrying groceries out to their car's and placing bags in cars. Handicap parking right at front doors. I can't say enough about this place.

Management is always pleasant. But there are a couple of older cashiers that always seem to have attitude. We have been shopping there for 21 years and it is always the same with one cashier. She is very pleasant toward most people but when we go through her lane when she is working we seem to get attitude from her. She is not pleasant with us at all and never really has been. My family has actually worked at the store when they were in high school (minus me because I am not from Tennessee), so most of management knows my family. One cashier who no longer works there used to call my daughter peanut because when she was a baby she had the color tone and shape of a peanut. It was okay because out of endearment. She is the type that needs to be training people but like I said she no longer works there so, I person try to avoid shopping there and send my husband when we need something.

Best place in Nashville to buy smoked meats (local country ham, smoked neckbones, local country bacon, spiced round, etc). Also has the best selection of greens I have ever seen in a grocery store (turnip, collards, kale, and mustard greens). If your looking to find that soul food you can't buy at chain stores and don't mind the neighborhood check it out.

Best place in Nashville to get fresh meat, however it does not seem as though “personality “ is something that is focused on for employment. There are a couple of cashiers who have absolutely “vile” personalities. I’ve shopped here for 25 years. I’ve gone in the store when the only two people working were the vile ones, just left and went to Walmart.

This is a great store to go to when I do not feel like driving all the way to Kroger's but they are a little bit on the expensive side I just love their Pick 5 and they sell my wine. But they always have enough workers working the cash register and they get you in and out

Always do our quick meat shopping here but today we had the worst experience with salesclerk name TARYN, she was rude, refused to stand when bagging our groceries and was rudely demanding i put my groceries in the cart. This is thd 1st time i write a review of any kind, im usually very lenient but that lady's attitude was not acceptable. I get that she is probably tired, she could have asked nicely.

Their meat prices are great, bur not so much the produce. Some of the produce, like blueberries and peaches, never seem to ripen and remain tastless. Watch the exp. Dates, too. Expired stuff, like drinks, can sometimes sit out on the shelf past their sell by date.

The store smell funny and the Ratchet employees with Psycho attitudes is always lazy nor don't never want to come up to check out customers. Too many Ratchet customers and their bad kids come here to either steal or tear up something lol sad. Their meats & fruits is nasty and the items look old and out dated so I don't really care for this store because I don't trust their products because I seen alot of expired items there so I really don't shop here anymore....BEWARE!!!

I love going to HG Hill's. It is convenient, never overcrowded, and the customer service is ALWAYS top notch. I know where everything I need is located. Drawback's are: not huge selections and the costs are a little higher than the big chain stores. But worth these small things for all of the pluses!!
