I've been coming here for many years as we have a small beach house in the neighboring town. The store is always clean and well stocked. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Their prices are much cheaper than the competitor's. They are really the only choice without having to leave the island but I still find that I would probably still go here even if there was another choice.

I shop here nearly everyday. Most of the time it isn't real busy so you usually don't have to wait in the checkout for long. Prices are slightly higher than that of the competition but since it's close to home it is a value of convenience. Best sale they run is on soft drinks. Coke or Pepsi depending on the week are priced anywhere from 3 12pks for $9 to the occasional 4 for $11. That's best time to stock up. Most of the staff is super friendly and helpful. Store is remarkably clean including the public restroom in the back left corner of the store. Early morning shopping brings you the manager specials whichare an exceptional find in the meat department. Make sure you check out the seasonal shop. Find anything from valentines and candy in February, color kits for that Easter egg hunt, flowers for Mother's Day, picnic supplies, summer festive ware, fireworks for July, Halloween supplies and much more. There is ample parking and love the small shopping carts for those quick trips when tou don't need much. On your way out stop by the Redbox and pick yourself up a movie for the family. Currently running a .99 rental special for the summer.

This store is clean and well stocked. But the best part of this Food Lion is the fun and upbeat staff. As I was checking out with 2 cartons of eggs, the cashier says to me, "you sure you want to put all your eggs in one basket?" Haha.

I bought some apples and needed to return them, and no questions asked, Tonya CSSM, took care of it for me , just as fast as a snap! And told me they double your money back on produce and this I didn't know!! To my surprise!! I will most definitely be going back to Food Lion!!

One of my favorite markets, Food Lion offers an adequate selection at very competitive prices. Be sure to register for their VIP card to qualify for weekly discounts which are substantial. Their wine and beer department is quite extensive. The deli/bakery could be a bit larger, but I've never left dissatisfied. Best of all, the store is easy to get in and out of.

This place was slammed with vacationers when I was there. The staff did an awesome job keeping the shelves stocked, directing check out traffic, and getting everyone through the check out line as quick as possible. Every register was open and they were still 4 to 5 deep each. Great cashiers who handled it well and with a smile.

The Food Lion on Carolina Beach always seems to be pricier than the Food Lions in Wilmington. The meat selection is never great but a step up from Walmarts butcher department. I do like the Food Lion brand milk which does not contain rbgh. However, I wish they would not have removed the self checkout isles...

Food Lion is a decent enough option for grocery shopping. I used to be a manager at a Food Lion. The problem I have with this particular Food Lion, the one that happens to be nearest my home, is that the employees often have a bad attitude. In fact, just this morning a staff member nearly ran into me with a cart. It wasn't a grocery cart, but it was metal and definitely would have hurt. As my wife and I were entering the store, this employee (an older gentleman) was pushing said cart to exit through those doors. I literally had to jump out of his way to avoid taking a metal basket to the shins. He didn't even offer me an apology. That really frustrated me, so I turned around and said, "Try not to hit someone with that cart." I didn't hear his response clearly, but he said something about how he was just trying to go through the doors. I thought I heard something about me not paying attention, but my wife said she didn't hear that. Either way, when I looked back while he was responding, he was laughing. After I picked up the items I needed, I headed over to one of the express lanes where a young woman stared ahead and didn't even motion us over. There was nobody in her line, so I thought she might be closing out. She was not. I hovered at her counter for a second, when she finally ask if we found everything. She was extremely rude, and try to have me bag my own items. Again, I was in the express lane and had four things. Plus, it's not like one of the long conveyor belts where the bags are at the end. The bags are right next to her and I would have had to reach over the counter to access them. These experiences are not unique. For whatever reason, the Food Lion on the island Offers terrible service. If there was another option, I would never go back.

Best Grocery Store in Manchester. Great prices, awesome selection, clean and organized well. The employees are always friendly and helpful, most are even open and talkative when engaged in conversation. They run weekly sales which helps a lot when budgeting a household. Location is good. It stays very busy and checkout can take a few minutes at times, even then, it's well worth the small wait.

I was embarrassed to observe a fellow customer publicly harassed and physically threatened by a cashier. The store manager did not intervene, I heard the fellow patron tell the cashier he had recently undergone heart surgery. She even told him to report her, that it wouldn't matter and he could go elswhere to shop. The patron was a senior citizen and was visibly shaken by this woman. Scary customer service. I went back in the store bout a week later and that cashier continues to work there. I was taught to respect my elders and treat other people with compassion. Visitors beware of hateful cashier at Food Lion in Carolina Beach. I now shop elsewhere when on Carolina Beach.

I have never been into any grocery store that has Associates as friendly and eager to help you as the Food Lion in Carolina Beach. The shelves are always stocked and fronted. The floors are always shining. It is a joy to come into this store and get out as quickly as I do. If there is a line, they always open another register, you never wait.

My sister who is a new mother was using her WIC in the store today and was made to feel ashamed and embarrassed for using it. The cashier was rude to her and told her it was her fault that the system was showing the store owed her a dollar. She then bad mouthed her to another cashier right in front of her and acted like she didn’t exist. My sister apologized many times for whatever it was that she didn’t even do, and the cashier never even looked at her. The only thing positive about this story is that I now know to never shop at this store again, i’d rather eat nails. Thank you Manchester Food Lion for showing us who you really are.

Other than Sea Merchant, this is pretty much the only place to get grocery shopping done unless you want to leave the island, so it's pretty much a captive audience in that sense. However it's got an amazing staff and the fact that you can pop in at any hour during the season due to it being open 24 hours is a HUGE plus! So all in all this place is a win for me. The only thing that kept it from being a full five stars is that the selection is a little limited in certain areas. If you are the type that is all about the Trader Joe's / Whole Foods kinda scene, you may find yourself a bit disappointed, but does that crowd come to CB in droves anyway?
