This Fruit Store is included in the category of Grocery store.
Expensive
Love that they have odd animal parts like chicken hearts (nature's pill pockets for dogs), cow tongue, etc. Also, best price and variety of the large bottles of GT's kombucha in Santa Fe
My favorite storefront co-op; we are members. Best produce available, anywhere. Friendly and helpful staff. A great store!
Love this lil place
Good food good Quality!!!
This is a great natural food store, I will be back.
Awesome sauce
Nice organic selection
I love the co-op freshly made food to go and at a reasonable price, friendly staff and fresh organic produce.
No Stars!!! I'm constantly being followed, & discriminated on, which mostly consist of the management & the owner Will. I have shopped at the location itself, (Casa Solana Center) which was first The Pigley Wiggley Grocery. Later it was sold, & changed to The Warehouse Market. I have also shopped at the La Montanita Co-op Food Market, formally, "The Market Place", located off of Alameda St. when it was first opened. Ever since the Market Place relocated to the Casa Solana Shopping Center, I continued to shop there, as I was a long time employee of Women's Health Service's ( SouthWest Care), a neighboring establishment to La Montinita Co-op, and live in Casa Solana. I would shop daily for my breakfast, lunch, and purchase groceries for family, and my work. One afternoon, summer 2011, I asked my daughter & her friend, (whose family are long time members of Co-op), to get me a Odwalla smoothie, as I was busy at work. I gave them extra money to buy themselves a drink & snack for each of them. When they came back with my smoothie, my daughter was very upset, and told me that she had been accused of stealing the Odwalla smoothie, by Claire, I believe is her name, a cashier,& currently still employeed, who has continued to harass us by following us in the store, and/or give us inappropriate, unpleasant stares, instead of providing professionalism, pleasantness, and good customer service. At that time my daughter was 14 now almost 20, was in tears when she returned with my smoothie. My daughter has never been accused/arrested of stealing at any establishment, or for any crime, nor has her friend . I had to do the right thing and take them both back to your location, and ask to speak with Will the owner, or a manager so that we could review the cameras, and have a discussion in regard to the accusation, as they were told they were not allowed back to the store again. Because I am a member of the Co-op, worked in the Casa Solana Center for many years, and have lived in the Casa Solana neighborhood for over 35 years, I needed to see if the allegations were true or false. I called and asked to speak to a manager, or Will, I spoke with Will, and he stated they did steal,& had them on camera, so of course I asked to see the tape. The tape showed the 2 girls paying for the smoothie, and 1 or 2 other items with a cashier. They stop to look at another product on the shelf next to the cashier stand, and walk out. My daughter also gave me her receipt. Will insisted he saw them stealing, or Claire did, and band them from coming back to your store. Will also had his long time employee, John that used to be very friendly, with hugs everytime my coworker and I would go in. Also at one time asking me out on a date. John was present during the viewing of the tape of my daughter and friend, and I stated to John and Will, look there is no visual evidence on camera, and they have their receipt! I told them they are discriminating, and falsely accusing these girl of stealing. If that the case being why didn't he call the police to make a report? He knew he had no proof other not wanting them shopping in his store. I withdrew my Co-op membership which I had been a member for 3 years. After a year and a half, I decided to shop there again as it is very convenient, and I felt this false accusation had gone on far too long, and I should be able to shop in my neighborhood market, as I always have. I renewed my membership for about 6 months now, and have shopped there again a few times a week, but it started again! I have managers following me in the store, waiting at the end of my check out line to see what I'm purchasing, & if I am paying for it and follow me to the door.
The veggies are the best!
This is my favorite grocery store in Santa Fe. Easy parking, friendly and helpful staff, great produce, excellent community involvement and local products.
Contrary to some comments, the organics at this store are not "affordable". This is the most expensive grocer in town, pricier than Whole Foods. They do have a better selection than most other stores, though, and their strength is in the variety of locally-grown veggies.
Love the fresh produce and great meat but the prices scare me.
Good stuff
This place sucks. I was on a trip in Santa Fe recently and I went here for dinner because it was by my hotel. Big mistake. I got a turkey pesto wrap and some nasty popcorn. Two hours later after consuming this co-op food, I spent the rest of my night very sick. Don’t go here. Food poisoning is no fun. :( i am surely NEVER going here again.
I good place for fresh produce and Raw Milk, friendly staff, but kinda expensive.
So many things to do in this little strip mall!
The co-op is my favorite grocery shopping experience, mostly because of the friendly and helpful staff. I feel at home there.
Nice vibe...pricey
Enjoy shopping here a bit pricey.
Shop for health reasons.
Great store and friendly helpful staff
Love this place. It's small, but they are committed to local, organic and sustainable.
Best organic produce. good meat dept too lots of snacks you dont find elswhere. Bulk grains, nuts, teas...lots more
Produce fresh but very high priced.
The inventory is more consistent with serious eating; a wonderful deli, also.
Pricey!
The front end staff here are AMAZING! They're hard working and always in great moods. :) Every time I come in, I feel welcome and like my needs will be taken seriously if I can't seem to help myself.
Great organic produce with a large variety of options. Great deli, meat, dairy, supplements, teas, coffee and even general merchandise. People who care for employees. There is a food counter. Wonderful alternative grocery store. Lots of natural and organic products.
WAY too expensive for co-op.
Over priced.
Local owned, locally sourced when they can. Nice staff.
Pretty solid coop. Prepared food is OK but the produce and meat are top quality
Well worth the visit.
Worst customer service and unpleasant vibe . Always feel less than and unwelcome. Came in to get food and a drink. Put stuff back and left pretty sad. People do not say excuse me who work there or even offer assistance, seem like I’m just a bother in the way so I will not shop here. I am kind to a lot of shoppers and help people buy stuff anywhere I go. Albuquerque stores have more smiles and kindness sorry
Great fresh produce and a huge variety of products for a small store. Better to shop here over whole foods!
Way overpriced, good produce.
Priced higher than the alternatives.
The best idea of healthynwealthy
Allan, in the Dairy Department, is SO helpful. He always has the good stuff when we need it. Knows his products very well. This man deserves a raise!! Love the Co-op
They carry Strauss dairy but the whole milk is always out of stock. Left multiple messages for dairy Manager never got a call back. SANTA FE location.
Nice grocery store, Good selection organic food products. Great little deli.
Best place to shop in Santa Fe for anything that feeds your body, soul and mental state!
Love our co-op.
One of the best co-ops I've ever been in. They have great selection and an excellent made-to-order food/smoothie bar! Great customer service too.
Organic products abound but its not cheap. Good selection and good for takeout food.
Good selection of produce. Pricey but friendly.
great sandwiches
Quite frankly the worst prepared food/hot bar I have ever had at a natural grocery. Absurdly expensive if you don't want any of the meat offerings (which there's always too many), for the most part the food is tasteless and cold. I believe pizza for lunch should be, ya know, ready at lunch time. Seriously always disappointed and a waste of money.
Had a coupon for 18% off and they didn't honor it. Major rip off, everything over priced.
Not a bad selection, gal at front help desk acts like Rosie Odonnell and things come flying out of her mouth. Did not want to return
Excellent organic
Best selection of plain quality olive oils.
Basic
The WORST of the employees work at the hot bar and deli. It’s been that way for yrs, and I don’t think management knows about it. Too expensive, anyway. Don’t waste your money there, just go to Wholefoods or Sprouts.
great grocery store. so happy they stock grapenuts.
To het good pricing, you must have a membership card. Costs nothing. Literally farm fresh foods, very good selection of organics stufts. Easily located on the Solana Center on West Alameda. Friendly people; clientel are youngish to hip middle age/ older folk. Unlike the "entitled" attitude you getfrom much of the clientel at Whole Foods or Trader Joe's, this clientel is by far, less upright and flexible. You're in and out with ease.
Excellent store.
Some of the best food in Santa Fe. Great selection, friendly people and lots of local goods.
Great staff lovely environment
I love my local co-op <3
I like the Co-op because it carries a lot of locally-grown fresh veggies, which means you can find varieties of vegetables not available in any other grocery store: the heirloom varieties are great! The store in Santa Fe needs to work on their prepared foods (soups, hot bar) recipes and variety, though. They used to have some exceptional soups and main dishes, but more and more they're serving curries and curry left-overs. They've fallen into a rut. Overall, service is excellent.
Local Grass fed beef is Way Better than Albertson's who knows where it came from. The quality is WAY better too! Great nice knowledgeable staff, lots of local products. The produce is outstanding, the deli has great offerings including make your own burrito in the am, a hot bar, mostly organic salad bar, and BIG sandwiches. The juices and smoothies are 100% organic, and the coffee is fair trade, organic, and from a local roaster. They participate in the Monterrey Bay Seafood Watch program, so all their seafood is on the green list (meaning not endangered). The best chocolate set in the Southwest, and lots of gluten free offering baked fresh in the deli. This is MY STORE! I am an owner of the coop!
Yummy vegan cookies for $1.99
A very yummy delicious and grocery
Great locally owned cooperative Heath food store with a great bulk section and delicious hot deli and sandwich bar.
Great locally sourced produce.
Some good produce, but a lot of the items are really overpriced. Seems inconsistent, some items are at market value or somewhat cheap, but overall pricey for what it is. Weird vibe, like a lot of the health food stores in Santa Fe. Feels like a Portlandia sketch in real life. The cashier was friendly enough but the rest of the staff seemed annoyed to have to help a customer find something. I’ll stick with Albertson’s, Smith’s, etc. They offer the same thing essentially, without the new age nonsense and the Californian-influenced smug culture.
At least it's local.
I love being able to buy affordable organic items at La Montanita, and can choose from safe conventional options as well. Staff is always helpful, knowledgeable and upbeat. I used to have to stop buying organic when my income decreased; or, I would only buy a few organics and then buy the rest at a conventional grocery store. Now I can do most of my grocery shopping in one place. And I'm supporting a trustworthy, life-affirming, inclusive, and successful LOCAL organization.
Got everything you could imagine, the membership is cheap and worthwhile, and it's always worth getting ethically sourced food, anyways :)
My wife loves cheese, so when I traveled to Santa Fe, I bought her some local goat cheese and flew it back to the East Coast. Only to notice at home that the two bought local goat cheeses had both expired 2 weeks prior to purchase!
Their Ginger snaps are really good and they have a lot of vegan options. Gae
Its got the best selection of healthy food but the prices make Whole Foods look like Dollar General.
This place rocks I could spend hours just looking at all their products great staff and atmosphere love it here
Place is pretentious - way overpriced and without class - great fit for Santa fe. It farts above its ass.
Awesome varieties in everything!!!
Being a member of the co-op is a big deal for this place. I've always had to grab only a thing or two, and was met with brief service where talking to the cashier was like getting the silent treatment once they discovered you weren't a member.
Independent grocery store specializes in organic food. Also has locations in Albuquerque.
Really great breakfast burritos. Also I love what they are doing with the gender neutral bathrooms.
Walked over from the Quicklane nearby to grab some snacks. A lot of good options. The people working there were nice. There's a space outside with tables to sit and read a book. There were some snobby people shopping there but thats not the Co-ops fault snobs gotta shop too, I guess.
Prices too high!
