Very good looking store, friendly staff and fresh food. Store combines regular supermarket items and european food making it one stop shopping place for my family. Everything looks very delicious and its not for shopping on an empty stomach :) I see that there are some negative reviews and its hard to believe that a real customer would leave such comments. It is very likely that they were written by inferior competition.

They have an extensive selection of Mediterranean and Eastern European delicatessen and food. With a few hard to find items that I haven't seen anywhere else around. Such as wild mushrooms and smoked fish. Prices are reasonable and keep an eye on their sale circular, they have some great deals.

Very clean and spacious store that has everything under one roof, from produce to deli, meat, salad bar, a great selection of organic foods/dairy and so much more. This store is a treat to shop in. The produce is the best I've ever found at a store. The deli has a wide range of meat and cheese to choose from. The baked goods are always fresh. The meat department has the best cuts of beef. Dairy department carriers kosher products I haven't found in other food stores. The grocery department has food from other cultures. Nicely decorated but beware of low quality salads and hot meals in prepared foods department. We tried about 10 items and more than half had awful taste - heavy, greasy and very salty, could not eat. One salad was OK, so I took it second time but it turned to be completely sour and musty. When I complained and asked for reimbursement, manager refused to give me money back and said I had to immediately come back to the store on the same day I bought it (who would drive back because of a salad jar??) The respectful store like Shop Rite would process a return without saying a word. This manager did not seem to care about customer satisfaction. Another problem is that cashiers make mistakes all the time charging you more than items cost. Some people do not pay attention, but I usually look at the screen so I see what they charge. Last time they tried to charge me $8.99 per pound for candy which costs $2.99. And all 4 or 5 times I shopped there, I have caught similar mistakes. People are so impressed by a nice store design that they do not pay attention to the bad quality and attitude.

It's not fair to give single star if the store is still not open. Today is my first visit and bought my lunch. I am really impressed with everything I saw. I liked the food and it was worth a visit. I will be a regular customer if they maintain what they are doing now. All the best.

Very nice and unique, first time experience in this store / supermarket. I definitely was reminded of Europe, and also Ukraine (given their Russian food options).. Moreover, very clean and organized. Staff was nice and assisted in answering my questions. I cannot give 5 stars at this time only because it was my first, and only 20 minutes shopping experience in the store, during late morning hours on a Sunday.

Great place to get Russian food. Fresh home made soups. Chicken noodle red and green borscht a lamb rib soup and others. They have 6 different soups daily. Not prepackaged you fill your containers yourself. Hot foods that range from fish chicken beef pork veal lamb rabbit and other items. Salads that are fresh made. A deli department that has Russian meats and cheeses. Fresh seafood and smoked fish also caviar. Fresh made bread and dessert made on the premises. Worth your time to go there and try out delicious foods.

Fresh fish is mislabeled. Potatoes in salad Olivier from food bar are undercooked; the herring fillets from food bar have too many bones and all of the four different types of cutlets from food bar that I got are rubbery and not tasty.

Amazing specialty store. They sell all the classic foods I grew up on: lox, herring, blintz, etc. The food looks delicious. The breads are baked fresh by the bakers working away right in front of your eyes. The fish and meat counters looked very appetizing. The store is brand new and it looks that way. It’s very clean and well staffed. I’m quite impressed. I hope they maintain this standard of cleanliness. The parking lot and entrance/exit are dangerous. Dead ends and confusing signage make it difficult to navigate. Be careful! The store is not overpriced and I would even say their prices are comparable with any supermarket for the non-specialty stuff. I took some pictures of what interests me the most: lox herring and blintz. Yum yum! Can’t wait to return.

December 11, Tuesday. Supposedly a day when new inventory comes in according to the personnel. Purchased some beef stroganoff from the prepared food section. The beef pieces were so hard to chew we threw most of it. Just terrible! Bought smoked sturgeon which is expensive fish to buy. Threw it out as it had rotten smell and bitter taste. This is the second time we bought bad fish product at that location. First time it was red salmon roe “Kamchatskaya” which ended having a funny smell and i ate a few tea spoons of it I ended up with an upset stomach resulting from consuming it and spent a sleepless night next to the toilet. What’s funny is that a sales person claimed they just received it and it was as fresh as it comes. I avoid buying fish there from now on as I realize establishment lacks food quality control.

Wow. Really great specialty Russian market. Love this place. Loaded with Russian and east European goodies. Hot food section to die for. This place is hit or miss. The store is clean and well stocked; great hot food bar. The help is awful. When you have a question, there is never anyone around. And when I did get someone to help me they did not speak English; this happened with two of their employees. A third employee acted like I was an intruder. Also, very rude cashier. I have been there three times and have had the same experience on all three occasions. I don't know if I want to try a fourth time.

If you've spent any time in Europe you'll love the store. It has a variety of options, especially ones I can't find anywhere else. It's always an adventure too, with some items you have no idea what they are and some employees that only speak Russian.

If your looking for gourmet this is a good place to start. It also is full of fresh produce, a large hot and cold bar, and fresh breads. This place specializes in Russian cuisine but is not limited to just Russian food. My wife and I bought some food from the hot bar which was tasty. There was a good mushroom spread, good pickled garlic, and delicious soups. It is a bit on the pricey side but is expected because of the quality.

Wonderful selection of prepared foods. Their fruits, vegetables and meats are high quality and cheaper than other food stores. The bakery items are great and they have an unusual selection. Lots of items are not listed in English so it is somewhat difficult to figure out what they are. Overall, their prices are very good. Will definitely be a repeat shopper.

Beautiful packaging and displays but don't let it deceive you. Check dates carefully. I picked up smoked fish that had tomorrows packing date - how's that?....and product way on bottom had older dates so they don't rotate properly. In the past bought a boxed cake that was old and like saw dust, just disintegrated as I put my knife into it. " fresh " fish was totally mislabeled, I kniw I'm in the fish business, why do they even bother with it. They should have cut back on all basic groceries and offer cafe seating and a nice coffee bar where you can enjoy Russian food and pastries. Who is interested in buying "honest"juices and buzzilion yogurts at gourmanoff when you got shop rite and whole foods across the way?Also staff is not looking happy to be there, Irritable, unfriendly and undoubtedly underpaid.

Take my rating with a grain of salt, as different types of clientele have different needs. I'm Russian-American and I'm well-acquainted with the standard fare, both produce-wise and in its glorious deli form. So for me, shopping here is not disorienting - it's quite the upgrade from the dinky 'Russian stores' I'm used to in the Fair Lawn area. But if you're looking for cheap, exotic, "ethnic" groceries, you took a wrong turn.

I like this store just because it's one stop shop. You can get there anything you need either fresh meat and fish or cooked meals for you family dinner. Freshly baked bread. Variety of smoked fish, caviar, pickled veggies, fresh fruits, vegetables, berries, dairy products, non-dairy as well, ice cream, tea and coffee, cakes... If you have guests coming over suddenly I can assure you at Gourmanoff you can get everything you need.
