This place will sell you the plague if you're not careful. Hot buffet is a disgusting mess of leftover food unfit for human consumption. I've seen them trying to move the same hot dishes 4 days in a row. Typical overpriced market place.

Outrageously expensive. And beware: I have inadvertently purchased expired and/or moldy food products on at least 3 separate occasions, as have several friends of mine. I shouldn’t have to check the expiration date on every single thing I’m buying - the store should be making sure their inventory is fresh. Also, they have an unreasonably strict return policy; will only offer store credit and the return must be made immediately. So ridiculous.

I go here for the convenience, but not for the prices. That being said, the produce is somewhat consistent, although I have had a few instances of cucumbers going bad in a day. The rest is what you would expect in a boutique super market.. expensive but convenient

I would only buy packaged food items from here. Every time I have bought the roasted chicken it was pink, so I'd cook it thoroughly before eating. Last night I was starving and didnt think before eating the chicken. Now I'm sick with food poisoning. I really want to like this store but every time I go I remember why I keep telling myself not to go back.

I live 2 blocks away, so at times I go to this store instead of say Whole Foods in Edgewater. However, twice now they have sold me hummus with GREEN MOLD on it. Unfortunately for me, I never keep my receipts and since it was sealed I didn't notice it until I opened it a few days later. Yes, it was my fault for not checking it or not saving the receipt. It's a tiny store, they should have someone throw out old stuff. Isn't it their responsibility to keep fresh food on the shelves? I will not return. I will be forced to go to Kings, and the only thing better about Kings (in a pinch) is it is IN MY BUILDING. This place is crazy overpriced, fruits and veggies are average at best in terms of quality and the choices are minuscule. Oh, and the check out people, they are just a delight.

My favorite shop. Although it is a little pricey, it has the best produce, try the gemini mushrooms nd the fresh spring mix. Their bakery has great selection of breads, try the olive italian bread. Their sauces and cheese are fresh and delicious.

Great organic market with lots of fresh fruit and vegetables. They also have a nice selection of cheeses, cured meats, uncured meats and fish. It is similar to Whole Foods, but much smaller. Their prices can be a little on the higher side, but its not really an everyday shopping type place. Go here for fruits, vegetables, meats and specialty items.

If you live in downtown Hoboken, you shop at Aspen. Maybe not for everything but you shop here. It is the quintessential city market albeit skewed towards the higher end. They have pretty much anything you need though with a smaller selection. They jam a lot into a small space making for a bit of a crowded shopping experience especially during the evening rush. There is a decent little meat department, deli and bakery along with a surprising fresh hot and cold bar.

Great supermarket with fresh produce, wide assortment of products, and even their own hot and cold buffet bar (by the pound). Some highlights are their deli counter, coffee beans dispenser, and a wide assortment of fresh cheeses and meats. Some areas of improvement would be the prices (a bit pricey for an okay supermarket), the employees at the registers are not the most friendly or cheerful (which is a real bummer to the experience), and the selection can be better! Their weekly manager sales and the convenience of being on Washington Street is a big plus so I don't mind returning!

I love this grocery store. They have a great selections of fresh fruit and vegetables. I like unique brands and homemade items and the store is packed full of them! From the homemade pasta, to the homemade coconut yogurt and grab-and-go options, this is the perfect stop for prepared food or fresh ingredients.

I have been going to Aspen for 5 years. Products are good quality although very expensive, but still go quite often. The girls at the cashiers are terrible, today they had me leaving the line to put an item back to its place because by mistake I took two of them, pus asking me to do it in such a rude way. They are so unpleasant and this has been going on for quite some time... terrible service on a very expensive place where you would expect the opposite.

This place is a super market and a restaurant. Great selection of grocery items located on a busy Hoboken street. Got to meet the Chef and he is nice and friendly. I was there to do food photography and was treated to a wrap at the end... which my whole family enjoyed...because I was full when I was there but came home with the wrap.

I’m not from this immediate area, but I shopped here today and was pleasantly surprised. Wonderful selection of fresh fruits and veggies, and lots of options too. Great to see the different choices and diverse selection. Meat and fish departments are small but very clean which was nice to see as well. They have a very nice selection of just a little bit of everything so I’m going to make it a point to come to this store again!

There is an unpleasant lady with brunette hair that I always encounter with at the registers. I've seen her attitude change from one guest to me in all times I visited this market. First I thought maybe it's a bad day or maybe she's not feeling well, but that doesn't explain the sudden attitude change. I've watched her check out customers with smiles and hand them their bags, but when I get to the register that smile turns upside down. Instead of giving me my bags she pushes my bags to me every time. I try to make small talk, but I get nothing even when I say have a nice day. I gave this store multiple chances thinking maybe I'll get another cashier or maybe she would change but nothing has happened. Therefore, I discontinued my visits to this store. Maybe I am looking at this all wrong, and maybe I am wrong for thinking that this treatment is because I'm black. Either way, I probably won't go back- They will survive without my money

The food here is average but I will no longer be giving this place my business for one reason, the checkout process. The cashiers here act as if they are forced to work here against their will and treat you like an inconvenience. It's almost like they're trained to make the customer regret coming here. I'll look for other places to find a quick dinner.

Because their produce--from the best watermelon, freshly packaged & ready to eat, to their Bulgarian feta cheese, and always gorgeous mint leaves--make a lovely summer Mediterranean dinner, no heating the oven! And ... the BEST olive bar this side of the Hudson.

Used to be 5 stars but new ownership is making it just an ordinary deli instead of the gourmet food store it was. On Valentine's Day they had no one working in dessert dept. and cashiers had to go get a dessert for customers who wanted them, causing a back leg at both the dessert and check out counters. I went to Carlos Bakery instead for my Valentine's dessert.
