Super friendly and clean store. Very helpful man loaded the groceries into the trunk on a cold and snowy day. Tried to offer a well deserved tip.. Said he couldn't accept it. My only complaint is that they should allow whomever helps you with your purchase into the parking lot after loading the goods and returning the cart... At least be able to make a few extra bucks for a job well done!! Very sad not to be rewarded after all their hard work and effort to please the customers.

I had thought that with Fareway coming to town it was going to be one of those stores where you pick up an emergency item or two but never actually do your full shopping there because it would be small town overpriced but boy was I wrong!!! Fareway actually ends up being where I do most of my weekly shopping because they are priced according to the other grocery stores in town but also because they always have the best weekly sales so I always end up saving money by going there. On top of that they have a wonderful staff and they always take your groceries out to your car and load it up for you! Excellent all the way around!!!

Fareway is awesome!!! Great meat counter. Great deals and the service is like no other. When you enter the store the workers are there to help you. The store feels like the old hometown grocery store I grew up with. No need to have the "cents off gas" deals. In reality, you are paying for the deal in the food you gave to buy. FAREWAY IS MY HOMETOWN STORE!!!

I had some t-bones cut for me today. When I got home, I noticed the tenderloin of the steak was cut completely off, down to the bone. This makes it a bone-in New York strip, also known as a Kansas City strip steak. This is a very deceitful practice. Next time you are at a meat counter, look at the difference in price for a New York strip, T-bone, and Porterhouse. Porterhouse has more tenderloin on it then a T-bone, hence the cost difference. Calvin, the meat market manager, said that is how they get them. So because somebody there is incompetent, you pass that on to the consumer? He also tried to explain that some T-bone's have less tenderloin. When I pointed out two of them that you can tell were cut to the bone with a knife, he said somebody really messed those up. No kidding? This is the first time I have been back in years. Last time I went there, I bought some T-bones as well. When I got home, there was about a 3/4" fat cap around the whole thing. I ended up trimming half of a pound off each steak. I didn't take the steaks back since it was dinner time. So I pretty much ate the loss. So I did my return today and went to another store's meat department. I won't say where, since this is not an advertisement. The guys in the meat department all had a good laugh with the pictures I took and what Calvin told me. If you don't know what you are buying and are trusting the butcher is giving you what you paid for, I would go somewhere else. Again, this is a very deceitful practice.

Normally, love this store. Shop there a couple times a week, at least. Easy, convienent, clean store. Wednesday Dec 21, wanted to buy 7 up products, 4 for &10. I was checking out with reg AW, diet AW, Diet Cream Soda and 7 Up. They did not ring up on sale, the cashier said I was not buying all the same products. I had to buy 4 of the same for the sale. When did that become policy? These are all 7 Up brands!

Great local grocery store. Smaller selection than other larger chains, but the staff is friendly and helpful. What makes this store shine is the meat department. They have a great selection and the staff know their stuff. They have any cut of meat you need and will cut and wrap to order. Their bulk sausage is superb and when it's cooked up there is not much grease left. When I am looking for a good quality meat for a dinner I come here.

We LOVE having Fareway Grocery here in Harrisburg. And, it's not just because it's our ONLY grocery store here in Harrisburg either! We're delighted to have the Iowa born food chain migrate into our territory for a number of reasons. Certainly for their friendly staff and their brand new building full of beautiful bargains. But also because of their beautiful use of a small space while keeping wider, easy to flow through aisles. Come see for yourselves! The entrance leads you into a produce section that sparkles with fresh color, and almost reminds you of the importance of eating a healthy, balanced diet. Of course, you can also find your favorite junk food as well! It'll be faced nice and neat, on a shelf here and there, somewhere on your way to their fresh meat department. Don't forget the propane! Yes, they have that too.
