This Fruit Store corresponds to the category of Produce market.
We bought pies, so yummy. The flowers outside for cutting were marvelous.
Nice place and great owners
Love this place, great folks and great products
Nice selection of produce.
Cute little farmers market with lots of baked goods and canned items. Never walk out empty handed. Haha
Huge selection of produce, homemade products and delicious pies!
Always enjoyable, friendly staff, reasonable prices.
Fresh season fruits and vegetables plus locally made jams, jellies, condiments, fresh eggs and cheeses, fresh baked goodies, and a few locally produced crafts. Plenty of parking on a gorgeous site at the edge of their orchards and gardens.
This is a good old farm/orchard market. They have something for everybody.
Terrific spot for a post-hike treat. It was difficult to resist their fresh pies, but i enjoyed their sweet plums regardless :)
I have not been to alot of orchards..... But this one is going to be hard to beat! The people inside knew what was good and what you would like. They make almost everything in the store onsite and from their own fruits. The fresh fruit was killer and the spiced peaches.... You better grab two jars because you will rat the first one minutes after opening it. The view is awesome here as well and you can see the orchard all around the stand. The baked goods are yummy and the fruit logs are to die for.
Fantastic! Clean, well organized! Great prices! Will return to visit the pick your own areas and for some later season apples! Fine people!
Grwat Jams, butter spreads and preserves! The pie are delicious. A very friendly staff. Also cut your own flowers, pick your apples and very pretty pumpkins.
Great place to bring kids! Fun playground, hay rides and pick your own apples. Plus the baked goods are amazing!
Many things to do with family or friends from picking apples to cutting fresh flowers. Friendly employees and helpful staff.
OMG the pies! Great selection and the cider is excellent!
When it's busy it can get really crowded. The market area is smallish and its chock full of interesting things so you don't really want to miss seeing every nook and cranny. Fresh baked cookies, breads, pies, pastries, candy, jellies, jams...Great place!
Very easy to get to. Delicious pie and other goods. Parking was very simple. No special charge just to go like some others.
Worst smelling men's room on US15. Informed owner of the odor two weeks ago on our trip to Fairfax, Va. Stopped there again yesterday - just as bad, no change!! Wife could smell it from outside with the door closed. Kinda makes one want to walk around the the outside of the bldg. to relieve himself. Marianne, my wife, says ladies room is ok.
Good stuff
Such a great place to get fruit, pie, cider, and all your produce needs!
As soon as you walk in you get hit by the glorious smell of fresh pies. They also have premade frozen pies to take with you, Mason jar soups to make at home and fresh fruit and veggies. I don't live near here but always stop by on my way to visit my parents. Its always a nice treat for the family and I get to stock up on some pies for another day.
Amazing fruit
Beautiful place to visit with your family
We have been visiting this orchard for years. Often every weekend during pick your own. The family is absolutely amazing. They are all very kind and personable. The bakery is out standing, the cider is holy wow and ALL of the fruit is phenomenal!! The prices are great as well. All I can say is you get more than you pay for. The atmosphere, the family the food love it all.
A lil pricey, and sometimes some of the people aren't always friendly.. but we always stop in the Fall for apples, pumpkins, and cider.. pretty yummy foods.. very beautiful scenery as well.
Beautiful park, good for camping. Lots of activities near by, clean bathrooms and very well organized
They are closed too early on the summer time too bad at least open 7-9
Fresh Fruit and Fresh Veggies!! Don't forget the apple cider and home-made pies !!
Awesome orchard and the apple cranberry pie is outstanding! A+
The free mulled cider samples taste wonderful
Ive been going here forever. Fruit is good but their prices have become rather high in recent years
Terrible, they charge $2 per person just to be carted to the trees. A family of 4 that's $8 or for 6 it's $12 to pick apples and then pay for the apples too. I'd enjoy the couple block walk to the trees to save the money. In our case we paid $18 to be unable to walk in the sun and then pay $30 for a bag of apples. For us that's nearly $50 for apples that after the forces ride was complete in 8 minutes. NEVER again!
Always a great place to stop and get some local fruits and vegetables.
I have been visting this place for longer than I care to recall. It is small, and rather plain, but the fruit and baked goods are delicious. They have other snacks, and very good apple cider.
I'd come here for the flowers alone. Worth every penny and absolutely stunning.
This is a fairly large family-run business that I've been going to for the last 10 years. The baked goods are absolutely excellent, the canned preserves excetera excetera are all very good as well. Produce and fruits are outstanding. The only reason you might not want to go here, is because it's tucked away on Route 15 near Thurmont in the beautiful countryside and you might have to actually drive to get to it. Absolutely worth the trip, it has everything you want to Country Fruit store Etc to have. Two and a half thumbs up.
Crowded. Extremely overpriced. I won't go back.
Love the pies! Great service and staff is always friendly.
The blackberry pie is beyond belief!
An intimate experience there were four different types of apples to pick the day we went so it wasn't a long picking event. Not sure if we just came early before more verities were ready or if the orchard was just small. We had fun and shop was stocked with goodies. 4/5? It was cash only and the orchard seemed more suited for families and not coupes like I was with my wife. Still had a great time.
Always a good trip.
Excellent farm store with a very friendly staff.
Apple cranberry pie freshly came out of their oven..the best pie we ever had.
We always stop here coming home from Gettysburg.
So many yummy things! I always get the apple butter when i pass by.
Wonderful variety, even baked goods! Apples still on the trees, Flowers in the fields. So refreshing! Very friendly and helpful staff.
Nice place for produce.
Nice produce a little pricey
They have the best Honey Crisp Apples! The smells that come from here are intoxicating! The pies, oh the pies! Delicious! We love the sugar free cherry the best!
Stopped in on my way home from a Saturday drive. Was immediately overtaken with the smell of freshly baked apple goods. Walked immediately to the bakery and grabbed a couple of apple dumplings which were delicious. They have apples available to taste, I had one and then grabbed a half dozen to go. They had a large variety of apples, baked goods and preserves. I honestly lost all focus once the smell hit me, but if you like apples and baked apple goods, go here. I knocked it down to a 4 because I found it a bit pricey. My half dozen apples cost me $4.75.
Great pitstop for a road trip!
Good choice of apples and jams/jellies. Some items a little high
The apples are crisp, juicy, and full of flavor! We've eaten SO many apples since this weekend! It's becoming an annual tradition for our family!
Whenever I'm up near Gettysburg, I stop here for pie on the way back to Virginia. Fresh or frozen, these homemade pies from their orchard fruits are superb. They even sell locally made chicken and beef pot pies. Yum! Peaches and apples are abundant right now to take home by the peck or to pick yourself. So convenient, too, just off US 15.
The strawberry --rhubarb pie is some of the best I've ever had. Nestled in a beautiful orchard with tons of fresh produce and homemade preserves. Pies, pies and more pies! A little bit friendlier service would go a long way. Charging a dollar for a couple of cheap small paper plates and plastic spoons to eat pie was a little much.
Very busy on the weekend, prices are a little outrageous, but the taste is good.
Best apples, pies love this orchard inn
Fantastic pies, great selection of jams, apple butter, etc. Wonderful playground for young children. Bring the family, stay for a while!
Catoctin Mountain Orchard is a neat place. During the harvest, they offer pick-your-own-apples options, and more or less everything they sell, from fresh apples, cider, and pies to various salad dressings, sauces, and cookies, are made on-site. Plan your trip carefully! They're closed during the off-season, starting in late January. They're a little pricey, and they have a minimum purchase for credit cards, but they're worth every penny! They even have a playground for the kids. Only real negative is the tiny parking lot with a single, challenging entrance, but there is unpaved overflow parking attached to the paved lot, and the entrance is off a side road (as opposed to directly off the highway - much safer in and out).
Go early to beat the crowds!
Would of been nice to of grabbed fresh things to take home to Birmingham but you can't when they run and lock the door in your face with 5 min to closing. Will give my business elsewhere.
Nice orchard that is right off the highway. They have a good selection throughout the season and if you have family there is a lot to do. They have pick your own for different fruits through the year. The cider is the best and we also like the baked goods.
Rides out to the orchard for pick your own, plus a nice long let play area for the kids. The pick your own flowers were gorgeous and plenty of pumpkins available. The store inside is nice as well with lots of goodies to choose from plus apples if you don't want to pick your own.
Blackberry pie is unbeatable for the price. Try the Apple pecan caramel crumble too! The fruits and veggies seem overpriced compared to Farmers market that come to town. The jams have a less sweet option that is still sweetened with grape juice. Why can't you make it without sugar? Fruit has plenty of sugar on its own. Sugar free applesauce would be nice too
This place is the best! We don't eat any other jams or jellies anymore.
Love the preserves from here, but it has become a bit pricey.
This is a cool place that's worth stopping by if you're visiting the area. It looked like everything inside was home made. Theres fresh baked goods, ciders, salsas, hams, etc. Even if it's the off season for apple picking, it's still worth visiting to check out the store.
Small place , nice but not fantastic.
Great pies. Clean presentation and great cider. The tomatoes were overpriced but overall a good calue
Great homemade goodies
beautiful location
Great selection of fresh fruit at a good price. We ate enough on the rest of our drive home to couch for it's quality. Lots of pies, jams, and other delectables also. Well worth a stop if you happen to drive through this way.
Fun local fruit stand. Sweet, juicy, fresh apples. Good variety of pumpkins. Pick your own apples and pick your own flowers options available. Spicy aromas of fresh baked pies. Good array of local produce. Only complaint is inability too buy single fruits.
As we were exploring the Maryland Pennsylvania border towns, we stumbled on this market and popped in - any sign advertising fresh baked pies will cause my car to stop. And yes we did buy a fresh in season pie, strawberry rhubarb, yum. Also bought from the great selection of local products and food - maple syrup, fresh strawberries, fresh salad mix, spring onions. I could see this place being crazy in peak season but we enjoyed our experience. Friendly and helpful staff make supporting local producers easy.
Excellent fresh baked pies, apple for sale and a whole host of other delights. The cider is to die for. The local textiles and pottery are good quality and value. If you’re out this way, I highly recommend.
Love this place! My favorite stop for local fresh produce and my son and nephew love picking our own berries and apples. The bakery is an evil place, especially when fresh pies are being made. Can get a little crowded, but the staff are quick to help everyone and get them on their way.
I normally love this store, but the apple cider I recently purchased tasted very watered down.
Great for kids. Decent pricing. Well kept. Apples, pumpkins, flowers are all avail.
Great selections of fresh fruits, jellies, jams. Smells heavenly when you enter, fresh baked pies! Definitely worth stopping by!
Good fruit produce!
Here is the reason I gave them two stars: one for the welcome old men at the outside the market, he welcome us warmly and arranged us to the shadow in their billboard to avoid sunshine burn my car seats. One star for the price and quality of their sweet cherry. Other than these, this place is way more commercial than we expected. We chose to pick cherries by own, and found that cherry tree at second row has more and bigger cherries. When we went to pick at that row, a staff came to us and shout at us that we can’t picked the second row. He gave no reason, I think he want to keep the second row for other batches customers who come later. But the thing is good cherries on the first row were all picked. BTW, they only have 3 rows, total 30 -40 cherries trees for you to pick. When we were back to the store for check out, we found a collector with bad cherries in it. We thought it is for costumer to take out bad cherries before weighting. When we wondered what is this collector for, an old lady show up and shout at us “it is not for customer!” How can I know what the collector for if they didn’t hang a sign on it? Why you can’t explain to me in peace? Finally, this place is only a COMMERCIAL place for you to help them pick cherries, not a place for you to experience country life.
One of the best farm produce stands I have been to. Almost all produce sold here is grown here. Cider, pearly and cherry cider available. Home baked pies are excellent. Vegetables available in season. Big parking area. Well staffed.
We visited the orchard after hiking all day at Catoctin Mountain Park, just a mile down the road. It was right at the end of apple season and the sun was going down, so we didn't do any apple picking, but there were plenty of apples to choose from at their country store, which also offered, pears, potatoes, baked goods, butter, preserves, and much more. The Fuji, Gala, and Golden Delicious apples were incredible, as well as their apple butter. We also adored meeting the golden lab who hangs out in the store, keeping track of the wares and greeting customers. A great business with great apples! Please note that they prefer cash.
Wonderful fresh fruit, breads and pies.. Little expensive...
Only stopped there this time to get off the road in a thunderstorm so bad it was impossible to see. This is a stop on my way up or back on Rtev15. There pies are to die for, produce so fresh and venison jerky I dream about. Don't pass this place up if you are on that highway.
Amazing local produce! Lots of things to do
This place is Great! It was our second year going to pick apples. The experience is great especially for children. You can literally pick off the trees and choose your fresh fruit! They also have a pumpkin patch with many unique pumpkins to choose from. The General store is beyond Amazing with Pies, breads, butters and cider galore. Everything we purchased was delicious beyond measure!
Great place to pick apples and flowers. Playground for kids is also a big plus. Lots of tempting treats like fresh baked pies.
Apple cider is delicious! They sell nice produce, pickles, jam, and local honey too.
Great bake goods
Extremely beautiful in fall time
Never miss a opportunity to stop here the selection of canned foods and jam is amazing not only for fresh fruits and vegetables but for the best mix and they have homemade pies
Really busy at Saturday afternoon BUT beautiful fruit and baked goods. Pick your own apples Sat and Sunday
great stop for apples, pumpkins, and homemade jams and pies.
They have delicious pies. Somebody's grandma put a foot in them.
Always smells delicious with pies baking when you walk in. Great produce and friendly service!
This is like a farmer’s roadside stand on steroids. Indoors, with a wide range of fresh fruit, pies and other baked goods, and other typical farmer’s market treats. Prices were very reasonable.
Always has in season produce. Very fresh. Many other items for self or others-jams, salsa, salad dressing, cider, baked goods, soaps, pottery, artwork, etc.
Walk in and smell the freshness! Picked up a Honey Crisp apple pie and some other fresh treats. The orchard is huge, and looks amazing on a beautiful sunny day. Excellent stop for a Sunday drive!
A bit expensive but I went on the off season
It is a spectacular setting with the most beautiful apples in Maryland. Dont miss the super fun pumpkin pyramid!! Be prepared for the gloriuos smells of fresh baked goods when you walk into the store with an amazing selection of condiments and crafts from local businesses. It is a magical place for both children and adults. You nees to come out for some fall apple pickin on the weekends and make sure to grap some honeycrisp cider it is yummy!!
Nice assortment of fruits fresh pies located in a nice clean valley
Great roadside market. Fresh produce, amazing baked goods (fruit pies, cookies, cheesecake bars, etc), great selection of jelly and jams too. Oh and clean restrooms!
They close pick at own very early we have reached at 3pm they closed and we have came from a long hours drive 3pm is middle of day
Friendly folks, lots of offerings (u-pick apples, flowers, peaches, etc), pies, lotions, country crafts, etc. Little on the pricy side though.
Fruit is wonderful!
Stopped on a Sunday returning from vacation. Had a wide variety of preserves and jams. Found our favorites. Also picked up blueberries, blackberries, apricots and plums. Can't wait to grill the corn, squash and zucchini we also bought.
Pick your own fruit! Fresh, delicious fruit. The store has many tasty treats as well. Nice people working there to assist you.
Growing up, my parents would stop with us kids on the way home from hiking in Catoctin for fresh apples and cider. I then started taking my kids to the orchard for apples and cider after hiking in Catoctin. My boys are grown now but I will continue to make my stops at the orchard on my way home from hiking in Catoctin. For me, It is a must.
Had a nice time goofing off here! The pies are delicious too!
Delicious fresh produce. Delightful bread and butter pickles. Incomparable peach pie!
Fantastic!
Best apple butter
I brought 60 8th graders to the orchard. The staff was patient, kind, and helpful! They deserve a reward for that!
Market has the BEST cantaloupe (heavenly sweet) and the blueberry pie is worth the 1 1/2 hour trip! Enjoy!
It was kind of expensive, but still a lot of fun. Be sure to go hungry because you can eat all the apples you want while you are picking. The shop has some pretty good pies, cakes, and various desserts for sale, but if you are expecting to beat the prices you pay at your local grocery store you'll be disappointed.
Great place great cider n gifts!
Wonderful orchard with amazing fruit selection and baked goods. Wonderful fall favorite spot to get jams and preserves along with fresh apples and pumpkins
Fresh mountain air, great place for a rest stop to eat and take pictures. Fresh baked goods & produce. Most things home made & wonderful
Fresh produce at great prices.
We went apple picking last year! Loved the orchards and my son had a great time on the playground!
Love their produce and other items. Beautiful view!
Nice selection of fruit, jam and freshly baked pies.
Loved the apples from here...great place to stop!!
Love Love Love this place. Great pies for my Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner. Always enjoy their fresh fruits and goods.
Cute and busy little place!
Fantastic produce. Have never gotten a bad product here. The seasonal selection is lovely and the employees friendly. They have berry picking if that's your thing too.
First time stopping at this place and I can say we went a little overboard on the baked goods. The baked goods are being made while the store is open and still hot, who can resisit. Everything tasted so good, even a few days later. If this place was closer I would be going here quite often
Best place to stop for fresh produce & sweets!
Nice store! Friendly service. The biggest blackberries I have ever seen! See photo...
Very commercial. Overpriced! A small bag of apples cost almost $30. Preserves and pastries are good but expensive. Overall the kids had fun. If you gonna visit this place expect an empty wallet when you leave.
One word, Yummy!
Great stop, friendly staff...lots of great farm stuff. Got me three pies, some apple butter and a few other things. Glad I stopped
Best homemade pie anywhere! Great produce too
Will be stopping by again. Very fresh produce.
Nice stop on the way home from Gettysburg. Got some really nice fruit and veggies
Three words- Fresh. Baked. Goods. Multiple other words- fresh fruit and veg, pickles of every type for *days*, local crafts, and !frozen pies!! My family is a big fan of the quality food; it's a great stop while doing anything in the area.
Adorable little farm store! Has pies, pound cakes and cider donuts in addition to fresh fruits and veggies and cider, yay! Also had pick your own flowers when we visited (early July). Has a cute little outside play area for the kids and clean bathrooms, so makes a great pitstop on the road.
What do you say. Yummy
Great place to get fresh fruits and vegetables. Closes at 5 p.m.
Great homemade treats and fresh produce. Walnut apple pie is fantastic!
Stop here and try any pie. They're amazing!
Stopped in here for some treats on our way to Gettysburg. Great choice. We bought apples, peaches, pear cider, apple cider, candy and peanuts . All were delicious. My daughter is now a huge fan of the pear cider
Yum. Great stop.
Great place to visit. Awesome gift ideas.
We were looking for peaches and apples and stopped at this 'farm stand.' Our first impression was that it's very commercial and much more than a stand but we were pleased with the variety of products. We wanted to sample an apple before buying a box for $6 and offered a dollar for a small apple. The two young sales ladies told us that they don't do that but in the fall, they will cut an apple for samples. So instead of selling me one apple for a dollar, they lost a possible sales of a box and a customer and the sales of other products. Oh well; there are many other orchards and fruit stands in Frederick (MD) and Adams County (PA). I gave 3-stars because of the nice clean store and the ample variety (positive marketing tools) and on the downside, the two sales representatives, who represented the Catoctin Mountain Orchard, didn't go out of their way to 'close the deal.' In fact, there was no deal... it is what it is ...
Great day. They have a great selection of fruits and vegetables and baked goods.
Love this orchard! Came here to pick blueberries and had a great time! Also visited the store and got some produce! They have a wide variety of produce and food at their shop. Its all great!
The white peaches are fantastic
They have beautiful home grown tomatoes and fresh kale.
Greatest pies in the county!!!! Right out of the oven!!!
I love this place.... real farm stand feel and it is filled with locally produced produce and absolutely incredible baked goods. In addition, they have artisan dips, mixes, sauces and jarred (canned) goods. It will put a smile on your face for sure. Their apple pie is the best I've ever had (sorry, Mom)... try the crumb crust or the one with walnuts. It's easy to see from the highway but also easy to miss because it comes up fast as you speed down the highway. Enjoy!
Would like to give 3.5 stars. Fairly good selection. Prices a bit high. Staff mixed. Some friendly some just doing a job. Not a bad experience just nothing really note worthy either.
Great family.
Excellent place to stop for fresh fruit and veggies and all matter of seasonable produce including meats and baked goods.
Lots of excellent orchard items reasonably priced
