There is a good selection of Italian food although not all of the products live up to expectations. The pickled eggplant, for example, was not good. They have all of the ingredients you need to prepare an Italian meal from scratch. For the less enthusiastic cook, they also have prepared food ready to heat.

Simply the BEST sicilian slice of heaven pizza anywhere! They have expanded in the past few months it appears, which is nice. NOT as big as the Italian Market (Mazzaro's) in St. Petersburg FL area, but a wonderful place, surprise. Oh, if you are ever in the St. Petersburg area in FL, do yourself a BIG favor and stop at Mazzaro's (about 4 times bigger) you will be glad you did! Not knocking Micucci's, I was there yesterday for pizza (we bought 5 slices), just trying to past on some great insist / information to anyone heading to FL - A Big Cheese Room - A Big Gelato Room - A Big Bakery Room - A Big Fish Room - A Big Fresh Roasted Coffee Room To show I'm not picking favorites here, Little Italy in Cleveland, OH is an OUTSTANDING place to stop, as is Little Italy in Toronto, Canada, and let's not forget Little Italy in Boston:) Skip

I wish we lived closer so we could shop here every week!! They have a great selection of authentic Italian foods, wines, and many other items. The prices are great and so was the customer service. We will visit this store every time we are in Portland!!! They also have a wonderful selection of fresh hot foods to-go as well as chilled, prepared items you can reheat at home. (see pictures) I highly recommend checking them out.

On vacation in Portland and looking for a place to get lunch after buying a whoopie pie at Fat Cats down the street and saw their sign for Sicilian pizza by the slice. Was amazed at the store itself. It was like stepping into Italy, a place I have been. You have to wind your way around the store to find the pizza tucked into a hot corner where baking is obviously taking place. There are a few tables to eat it there and then pay as you leave the store (They trust you to do that) It was too hot for us so we took it to go. I found the pizza sauce too sweet for my liking but loved the crust. My husband enjoyed the meatball sandwich.

Pizza was great, they had a sign up for a 20 minute wait for pizza, after 20 minutes, they changed the sign to a 15 minute wait. Just say it was a 35 minute wait to start and people who can't wait that long could leave.

Some of the best pizza on the planet...well worth standing in line for, but sadly Micucci's and its creator, Stephen Lanzalotta, have parted ways. It would be great if they could work out their differences (allegedly over wages and hours for baking assistants) so I could in good conscience continue to support them both. Doesn't seem fair for Micucci's to keep selling what should be Lanzalotti's recipes...

The ladies are remarkably kind, and really make you feel like you grew up in the neighborhood! Their food is also stand-out, and the selection they offer excels when compared to their small size. I wish they'd be more honest in updating the time for when new slabs will be out, but that's hardly worth knocking off a star. Great place!

This message is rating employees and NOT products sold. I've been shopping at Micucci for over 40 years and have enjoyed being able to purchase products native to my heritage. I used to shop Model Market...remember them? Anyway in 40 years I've never come across a single rude employee until the past few months. This young man generally works at the counter doling out weighted products. I am angered each time I visit the store seeing that he continues to do a great disservice to a good family owned company. I will continue to shop there since I am unable to find the products anywhere else locally but will do my best to avoid having to interact with this disrespectful, sour looking employee. In being pure Italian, I was not impressed with their pizza. The dough needed a little more cooking. As for their tiramisu; truly the best I've ever had, outside of our own. We make this at Christmastime, and Micucci's was delicious; as good as ours. This is a must place to check out for Italian food shopping.

I love everything about micucci's. The quality of their products are always top drawer. I bought five kinds of imported cheeses and three kinds of Italian meat for an extra nice cheese board tomorrow night. I added some dates and olives and we have a party. In the bakery I picked up four stuffed breads and a delicious Luna bread. It is the softest puffiest tastiest bread you could even imagine. I added a lemon mascarpone cake and a piece of tiramisu. Let's just say I'm a happy camper. It has changed very little in the decades I've been going there. I hope they keep up the good work and don't change a thing.

Horrible pizza and stuffed bread. The pizza crust was ridiculously thick, there was minimal sauce and the pepperoni had no taste. The stuffed bread was more like a large piece of dough (very under cooked in the middle) with a few small pieces of meat rolled inside. I actually pulled as much dough as I could out of it. The grocery store looked wonderful with a very large variety of items.

Pizzas not bad but whoever the woman that worked in the kitchen when I grabbed some pizza on 11/19/2016 was so rude. She yelled at me for moving a pizza out of the way by the plate because I didn't use a tissue to do so but she then proceeded to move pizzas up with out any gloves on. Yes I was in the wrong for not using a tissue but there's no excuse for being rude to a customer in my opinion. I don't normally write reviews but I had such a bad experience there that I'll probably never go back and just go to Slabs on preble street instead.
