We visit about once a month to purchase Boats Head cold cuts and fresh produce. We like their pretzel bread, they advertise a free loaf of pretzel bread with Boars Head purchase. Today they were out of pretzel bread, and wouldn’t even consider giving me one pretzel croissant instead. As I was leaving, I realized it was yesterday croissants as the bread man hadn’t come in yet today. Disappointed to say the least.

Everybody was very nice, friendly and patient. Today, as I went in, I could even apply that to their customers. We got some of their deli specials and ate in the middle of our shopping trip. I love the fact they try to locally source their foods and plants, supporting other local businesses, even down to doggie treats and candles. The food was great, the produce looks good and it is a comfortable enviroment. Totally going to go again.

Interesting selection of local grocery items, plus a nice deli (see photos for menu) with a decent selection of fresh produce. Only place I could find in Louisville that carries no-cal coffee creamer. Also they have sliced jowl bacon! Boom! Jul 21, 2019 update: Revised to 6 stars. Their selection of side items (cold salads), meat and cheese makes it the best deli in Louisville! You owe it to yourself to check them out.

I like this place— they have good produce & sandwiches. The pretzel bread is yummy! The reason I didn’t give full stars is because they typically don’t have dates on the baked goods & I have seen mold on some things! (I believe that is a health hazard too). Besides that it’s great.

During the growing season, I love Garden Gate Market. However, yesterday's visit was not as much of a success. If you're hungry for lunch, a yummy Boar's Head sandwich can be had, as well as a cup or bowl of soup. But if it's produce or the like that you're after.. you're better off elsewhere. The selection was very poor and what was there was at best mediocre. I vought some leeks and a few beets. The rest of the few things I bought could have been purchased at any grocery for much less, I'm sure. The folks that were in there working behind the deli counter were friendly but the owner (?) seemed perturbed that I dared to speak to her. I plan to reserve my future trips to Garden Gate for the main produce season or to buy garden or yard items.

Good people, good product. I shop here for my starter plants, local honey, and chicken salad sandwiches. I love all 3. Parking is sometimes a challenge which is the only reason for 4 stars and I wish I could only take away 1/2 a star for that.

I buy all my fruts and vegetables here! Owner is always available and very informative about his inventory. Garden Gate only buys from Amish and near by farmers never from other countries like other fruit markets do. The people that work here are so nice and very helpful.

I had the smoked brisket sandwich on pretzel bread with some potetoe salad.this hot sandwich was the best deli sandwich I have ever had.the boars head brisket was so tender and dipped in the trifecta sauce made it pop.I also got some of the honeybell tangerines they are the best I have had.if you want good food and great service go to garden gate.loved it !!!

This place is great!! They give out lots of samples and the food is wonderful!! They have lots of breads even pretzel hoagies and croissants. They have gorgeous plants and flowers too. They are open until 7 Monday-Saturday and 6 on Sunday during summer. But they are open year round.

Their deli is awesome!!! Great sandwiches and Boars Heads meats and cheeses! They have the best chicken salad, Benedictine, and pimento cheese! Their fruit is pretty good and vegetables are decent.

One of Louisville's best places for fresh and gorgeous fruit and vegetables. They always have terrific produce, much of it locally-grown and all of it light years ahead of the sad, pale things you'll find at the supermarket. Peach season is a special highlight, and I sn't imagine making pie or cobbler without a trip here. In addition to produce, they also have an extensive deli with a fine menu of delicious sandwiches and sides. Afterwards you can finish your meal with delicious Amish homemade baked goods. None of this even mentions the selection of sauces, preserves, salsas and more. Again, most are local products and the quality of all I have tried have been excellent. If you're serious about food, you owe it to yourself to stop by and take a look at all these folks have to offer. I guarantee you will leave with a bag full of goodness!

I was very pleased with the produce that I purchased for my homemade gift basket (the recipient was thrilled with the fruit selection)and I will definitely be back to pick up another bottle of blackberry lotion (smells wonderful)! I must add that the pimento cheese is pretty darn good as well.

Great selection of fresh produce, but the real reason to go is the deli! Several different made in house deli style sides like potato salad, pasta salad, deviled eggs, ect. The sandwiches are absolutely delicious! You can make your own or choose from several on the board behind the counter, about 10 cold choices and 5 hot. There's also home made pies, cookies, and brownies, a selection of local meat and sausage, and during the summer they offer e everything you need to make your garden beautiful.
