Great variety of fresh and frozen vegetables, fresh meat and fish, with lots of vegetarian and vegan options. Delicious baked goods and lunch options. Many delicious deli items and salads. The only reason I'm not giving this a 5 start rating is because i didn't see my favorite curried tofu salad this time. If you want to eat healthy New Pi Co-op needs to be a mainstay of your grocery shopping!

The macaroons!!!! I also love using the bread machine. Slicing and dicing the yummy Rye bread of your choice. Great selection of local products all around, even a nice selection of craft beers. The price may be a little above average. Not an issue when paying for a quality instead quantity

I'd give it 5 stars except for discovering when I went to eat the macadamia nuts this morning they had tiny black flecks in them, some darker grey areas on the surface and one even had a black thing under the surface. I had to use a knife to get it. My close up vision isn't great so I couldn't see what it was. My flight left this morning so I didn't have time to take them back. At $25.99 a pound, that's not good. I've never seen that before on macadamias.

Staff is friendly, great selection of locally sourced produce and products. Good deals on promo items like my favorite Panda Puffs and Hippeas! The new Coop Basics pricing is great also, everyday items at affordable prices! Love going to the NewPi and grabbing soup and a sandwich or one of the great daily selections off the hot bar. Typically vegan options are available in the soup and hot bar sections.

HyVee has always treated me well here. I can try new foods as well always find my go to foods and brands. Their wine and beer selections has always presented new and exciting options. It lets me get affordably priced food while giving me a chance to get adventurous. Their on site chaceture let's me have a wine, cheese and meat nights when I went a quiet night in with my hubby but still have new experiences.

I have never heard of a Hy-Vee before. I was very surprised at the variety of items that the store contains.They have an amazing salad bar. In fact, it was so good we went back there three times in the course of a week. There is a small sushi bar as well as prepared foods. Friendly staff, clean store, I will definitely go back if I'm in the neighborhood.

Fresh produce, wider variety of products to choose from because its a bit larger than most of the other grocery stores in this area. I find that meat products tend to be a bit more costly at this store than some, but I think they are a bit more selective in meat quality and the meat cutters are on site, helpful, and professional. I feel they are second to only one other grocer in Osage Beach when it comes to quality and selection.

One of the greatest grocery store chains in Missouri. Everything you could need you will most likely find it there. Great seafood, fresh Chinese food cooking and served right there on the spot, and their own full restaurant that serves everything else you love to eat.

Pleasant staff. Reasonably well-stocked. The weekly deals can make some products pretty cheap. Two minor issues: Sometimes, the price labels of products are not there making it a bit tricky. Also, sometimes, the fuel saver discounts don't show up automatically while checking out. However, if you are alert and speak to customer service about it, they are usually good about redressing the situation.

Like most hyvee stores, I hear about in-store savings using their gas card but have not used this yet. The closest thing you will find to a Whole Foods in Cedar Rapids. While the store is smaller, they have a good selection of local and all natural options. We were in Osage Beach for vacation. I was surprised to see how expensive the groceries are here (Missouri more specifically). It may be due to the fact that this is a vacation town, but I'll take Michigan's prices and lower sales tax any day! There is a good variety. They are open 24 hours and there is a small bath and body shop within where you can get bath bombs and such. Location is wonderfully located in a strip mall. One stop shopping.

I stopped in Saturday July 7 to get a beer assortment for my brother's birthday party. I came into HyVee with a bit of a chip on my shoulder. When I left town in the early 2000s, this place didn't have much of a beer selection, and another place in town got much of my beer business. In the intervening years, things have changed. HyVee on this day had a very nice, broad assortment of beers, wines, and liquors on offer. Also, a very personable manager on staff who helped explain some of their six-pack assortment policies. If you find yourself on the West Side of Ames, in need of an assortment of beers, stop in here. They probably have you covered! Remember, out-of-staters: there is a 5 cent deposit on every bottle containing alcohol or soda in Iowa.

Hy-Vee offers delivery and curbside pickup. There are baskets with fruit for children to eat, child size customer in training carts, carts that look like cars and a mother's room for nursing at this Hy-Vee. They have a meat counter, great produce section and a bakery. They do have options for those of us who like to eat organic, vegan or have allergies. The selection for vegan/egg allergies could be better.

I always thought Hy-Vee was a good store. Until the last couple times I’ve shopped there I have bought expired food. It’s a shame that you have to check the dates on your food to make sure they’re not expired before you buy them. I guess they don’t follow the FIFO rule first in first out. So to me that means they must not care about the health of their customers because someone could seriously get sick from buying expired food. #DoBetter

Love the marketplace, this store is my favorite grocery store. The meat and seafood departments are huge and have a ton of fresh selections to choose from. Love the sushi too, always have to get a Philly roll. The organic/ health food section is gigantic and have anything you could possibly want or need!! The prices are reasonable and they are always friendly and fast and very small lines at the checkouts... highly recommend this store!

Best selection, huge store, generally helpfull service. Sale prices are advertised better than accurately coded and I've been (accidentally) overcharged, often. Read the fine print and review your receipt as there seem to be many pricing errors, at the register. Also, the parking lot traffic is rather chaotic.

Hy-Vee is a pretty decent grocery store that includes a proper butcher shop, bakery and even a restaurant. That said, they've got the aisles a bit cramped and have a somewhat confusing (to me anyway) layout, so it took me a bit longer to find things. I can't speak for the burgers at this one since I haven't had one here yet.

My brother in law's in-laws have a house on the lake. I had heard about the grocery store but I had to see it myself. It was large and busy. Selections from fresh to Frozen to dry goods to whatever you needed. The most interesting attraction for me was as soon as you walked in there was a margarita bar of many different flavors. The guy said if you didn't like that you could go also get a Corona. There was an active BBQ smoker at the front door, a Starbucks a restaurant with bar. For Lake shopping it's about as good as you can get. I would certainly return again.

I love this store and visit it whenever I'm in the Cedar Rapids area. It's clean, laid out well, and I love the selection of local, Iowa produce. The prices reflect the true cost of food. That seems to be a complaint about this store, but I checked their prices vs Hyvee's organic bulk bins and New Pi is cheaper every time. Consumers need to realize there's more to their food and there's a reason there's such a stark difference between conventional and organic. It's expensive to eat organic if you eat a lot of meat and not a lot of vegetables, or consume a lot of prepackaged goods. But if you eat a balanced, whole-food diet you really don't have much to worry about budget-wise.

This is the Hyvee I always go to for booze. I don't know why, they have the same selection and the other one is closer to home. But I still do. Their bottle return area is always tidy, the staff is helpful and generally good about knowing what they have and where it's located, and the Japanese Kirin Ichiban beer always makes it's way to my house after visiting. Only 4 stars because, except for the coffee stand where I once got myself a cup after not sleeping for 3 days, I honestly don't even know how the rest of the store compares.

Selection is average at best, you can find a better selection across the way at the East Hy-Vee. Employees are generally helpful, however, I am not a fan of the managers due to their lack of knowledge about logistics. They seem to never be prepared for "rush hours", which creates a lack of checkers at almost all times. I've had to wait over 10 minutes in line before. While that is an extreme case, the wait times can get quite long. Hy-Vee, you have 10+ registers, plan accordingly and use them

They offer a number of attractive services like order on line, free pick up and free delivery (over $100 orders for delivery). Those two services are real time savers for busy young families. The meat department has a very good array of fresh cut items. There is also a deli, restaurant, pharmacy and a large liquor store.

The bakery is probably my favorite place here but the florist is a close second. I also really love the produce area where the salad bar is. I think her name is Jennifer but not positive (she does fruit arrangements) If it weren’t for these three departments, Hyvee might get four stars from me. I can’t tell you how many cakes I’ve ordered or flower arrangements or candy bouquets, or fruit trays but theres a reason I only go to Hyvee for any of those. They’re the best!!! Most of the time I order ahead but in the rare situation where I’m not prepared (like today) l, the staff was on point! Thank you to Jennifer for quickly making me a batch of chocolate covered strawberries. They looked amazing! Thank you to the bakery for getting a cookie cake prepped for a cookie platter. The recipients today of these wonderful gifts were overjoyed. The rest of the store is fantastic too. Pretty well organized and staff is typically pretty friendly. My family and I used to eat here at least once a week because we’d all get the “grand buffet” and indulge. Unfortunately they took that off the menu but the food is still okay. Not in love with the setup nowadays. It’s confusing but the food is still ok.

You will find a large variety and good quality food, though you will pay more than at other local stores for many things. Their restaurant, buffet, and other ready-to-go food is quite good in my limited experience, including the Asian food. The pharmacy has always been helpful and I use their post office services frequently since they are so much closer than the actual office. Very nice store is always clean. My one minor complaint is that I wish when they have limited checkouts open, that they would have one at each end of the store, as I am typically parked on the opposite side of the store from where the open checkouts are.

The original appeal of this facility was to purchase items I'm not able to purchase at my local Wal-Mart. By this I'm referring to specialty cheeses, baked goods, specialty meats, specialty adult beverages, and specialty desserts. These unique purchase items have been scaled back considerably over the last few years. Going to this specific location doesn't offer the experience we had become accustomed to. It is a fine grocery store otherwise. Clean, well lit, with slightly friendly/helpful staff. The salad bar and prepared meal counters are well stocked.

I always love visiting New Pioneer, even if this location doesn't quite have the selection of the other two stores in the Iowa City area. There is a fair amount of vegan food, as compared to other local markets, though the bulk section could definitely be expanded. The cafe has a wide assortment of food, including lots of (clearly labeled) vegan options. Love the Rock and Roll Avocado Tofuwich! The bakery section likewise has a great selection, including some vegan pastries.

Just got off the phone with the florist, who was as sweet and accommodating as can be. A couple weeks ago, when I was "back home" for Thanksgiving, my mom and I were shopping and ran into some issues with gift cards (the fees we didn't see!). There were two guys at the check-out who were so incredibly helpful and funny, and who didn't make us feel like idiots. I remember the jingle I always heard as a kid, "Where there's a helpful smile, in every aisle." It's so true! Makes me miss friendly Ames, Iowa. And bonus, they have one of the best cheese selections outside of Wisconsin!

The pharmacist here is highly unprofessional. She wrote up a lecturing note and made the poor cashier read it to me about how I do not need my prescription medications. They also announced loudly the names of my medications. I left out of shock. Called them up to complain and she tried to justify her violation of my privacy because "no one was around." I felt personally discriminated against for using medication for my mental illness. I've been working with a doctor for 15 years, I trust him to know what is right for me over some discriminating pharmacist. Utterly disgusted & so disrespectful of my privacy and my treatment. Need to find out her name so I can send a formal complaint to the state board of pharmacists but she hid behind the cashier like a coward so she's unknown and wouldn't give her name on the phone.

The store is beautiful. However the customer service needs some attention. I felt judged for my groceries. The cashier had an attitude. When another cashier asked her ifnshe needed help she completely ignored him and smirked at him. She was very rude. I asked a store manager for help. He sighed and pointed, then turned around to answer his phone. I'm not very impressed and id rather shop elsewhere.

Never have had a problem at Hyvee. Great company always helpful and always well staffed. You can find varieties here of health food and regular. They dedicate 20% of their store to special diets so if you are ones of those this should be your first stop. Wine and spirits sections is always stocked well and refrigerated properly.

This is a very clean store! The employees are friendly, and the food here is great! This store can get pretty busy, but the employees always seem to get the lines down almost as fast as they grew.

Hyvee is an alternative to Walmart, but they tend to be more expensive and offer less selection. The packages meats I bought have all smelled and cooked badly.

I've spent years using this pharmacy. While the clerical staff is very nice it has happened twice now that the pharmacists have not filled a medication that I need. Most recently their pharmacist Veronica told me that my prescription would be available on Monday. After going to pick it up, I discovered they had erroneously filled the wrong prescription, something I will not need a refill on for another 2 months. She was rude when I asked what my options were to fill my prescription and told me I should have been calling "every day" for the past week to essentially hound the pharmacy into doing its job. In the future I will be using a pharmacy that can operate without daily reminders.

This supermarket is awesome especially the bakery. They baked a birthday cake for my son , a roblox cake and it was awesome ..My son and his friends loved it and they went above and beyond to make it and it was perfect!!! Recommend this bakery for all your baking needs always...

Excellent. The best clean organized food store I have ever encountered. Always friendly and helpful. The meat department looks so fresh and offers such a variety. They offer a salad or full meal bar including oriental food. Just wish our town would have one. The other stores in town would not have a candle compared to HyVee. Love it!

I've been shopping at the West Ames Hyvee for a few years. Never really had a problem there until my girlfriend wanted a lobster for her birthday. I go to the store and I get a live lobster. As I begin to leave the guy at the meat counter puts it in a box and as I leave he says "You can cook that and it should compensate for your small [mumbles Incomprehensibly]. Dick move guy behind the meat counter. Dick move.
