This is one of my favorite stores. The store sells a variety of organic and conventional fresh produce and has a small deli area. Bulk coffee and Olive oil is sold here. I frequent this store, because I can most times find a great bargain, like a case of strawberries or tomatoes for $1-$2 that have to be eaten or frozen within the next few days. There is also a case with packaged fresh herbs. There is a parking lot adjacent to the store and limited street parking. New additions include a juice bar, salad bar and Miller's fresh chicken.

I've been going here for several years and have had mostly the same experience of enjoying affordable produce that's just about to turn in a few days. Every once in a while there will be a missing sign or two over produce, which is usually resolved by asking someone nearby about the price. Today, however, between the radishes and leeks were what appeared to some heads of leafy greens. Above the leafy greens was a sign that read baby romaine, between a sign for the radishes and a sign for the leeks. I picked out 3, but at the register the check out women designated them as "escarole." That's fine but maybe honor the price that the sign read as you go to take it down? Nope. We did that in the grocery store I used to work at, even if it was at a $15+ loss. Not the first time this has happened but it's gotten a little ridiculous. They don't budge or apologize for misplaced signage, ever. Was hesitant to bother to bring it up with some people in the back, they said glad I'm a loyal customer & "do you want to pay for the escarole you picked out?" No. But you keep your $0.58, shopping here isn't worth getting worked up by principles.

Great prices for fresh produce especially good if you have a veggie heavy diet. Just a heads up the produce seems to not last quite as long as the regular supermarket produce so only buy what you'll be using in the next 2-3 days. Besides that the variety is great and they sell Metric Coffee Beans by the bag here which is my favorite!

I feel very sad and disappointed that I’m giving this fresh fruit market a one star review. It has been my favorite market for many years but recently the change of staff has been such a disappointment. I’ve always had great customer service by all the staff and amazing cashiers in the store. Unfortunately in the deli department there are workers there who are very disrespectful and rude and I’ve noticed their blatant disrespect and mistreatment of the Hispanic community! Which is shocking because majority of the workers there are Hispanic! I can’t begin to imagine how hard it must be to work there with that kind of disrespectful behavior!! Anyway, it also seems that their quality of food has also gone down. I’ve noticed more and more spoiled produce sold there and just recently purchased some olives and noticed that they were moldy and rancid! I came in to Exchange them for fresher ones, so I told the cashier and she told me to go to the deli department to get fresher ones. I walked up to the deli department and the woman working there was not very kind! As a matter fact she was very rude and not very helpful! Explain to her that I just bought these all lives and I wanted to exchange them for something fresher. She looked at me and looked at the olives then said to “WELL, WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO ABOUT IT?!” I was shocked and couldn’t believe the way she responded to me! “I asked her do you have fresher olives? And she said yes but why don’t you just go and get a refund instead!” WHAT KIND OF CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THIS?!!!! I went up to the cashier and explain to her what happened. She was very apologetic and gave me a refund. I told her it’s unfortunate that you have someone like that working in the store. I’ve never had any problems like this before and it’s sad because I really love shopping here. I’ve also noticed multiple customers also complain the past few times about the deli department and the way that they’re treated. I really hope management takes care of this problem or they’re going to lose customers fast!

Cashier ladies are very sweet. I would stay away during rush hour in this place. Parking could but very tricky. Don't neglect their homemade chips and the big container olive oil shipped from Greece! Nice spread of fresh produce!

LUcky to live close, Stanelys has ,cheap,fresh produce by the ton. But don't wait too long with your produce. Stanelys stuff is literally at the peak of freshness when it comes in the door. Wait to long after you purchase and you'll have an at home science experiment.

Stanley's has the best prices of Fruit/Veg in the city. Not always the prettiest fruit & vegetables, but when they aren't pretty, they are heavily, heavily discounted. Friendly staff, clean establishment, and generally a very good variety.

It seems like this is the only grocery store that carries fresh mint. I can't tell you how many times I've gone to Mariano's and they don't have fresh mint which ruins my whole recipe. Then they also have cilantro. It seems like Mariano's rarely has this in stock. Also the place is dirt cheap.

Stanley's has the strangest assortment of goods but consistently excellent prices on produce and coffee. Borderline unbelievable in fact. Eggs though, will only be $5 per dozen organic free range. Duck eggs? No problem. Goats milk? Got it. Flour? Nope. Even with the strange quirks, the prices, variety and quality offered on produce make it a weekly stop. Get a juice or coffee and enjoy a real old school produce market.

I loooved Stanley's. Used to shop multiple times a week. The produce was good quality, great selection, affordable (highly affordable), even for organic ones. Their guacamole is one of the best in town. Why I am not going that frequently? Because the quality went down. Employees were nice, great, but with a few exceptions. Not anymore. I wanted to get guacamole and all of them were brown already. They did not understand what is my problem but I don't speak spanish so we might had a language barrier. I still go sometimes but not that often.

The best produce store, by far, in the city. Restaurants, fire houses, other businesses and a beautiful cross section of the city shop here. Lower prices than anywhere and some items not widely available elsewhere. The highlight is the random outdoor deals where you can pick up a flat of berries (i.e., 8-12 packages) for $1-$2. The model is the opposite of WF, so not all of the produce is 100% blemish-free or covered in wax to make it shine. Just great, fresh, cheap, in-season produce.

The cheapest produce in Chicago. Hands down. A wide array of fruits and vegetables with organic options as well. If you shop seasonally, you'll be sure to get a great deal. Don't expect tomatoes/berries in the winter and you'll be rewarded with a shopping trip that will definitely not break the bank account. Think cases of berries for $1 in the summer, not baskets...CASES. The shelf life of some of the produce may be less than at other places that ensure the quality of each piece of fruit that comes in, but that's also why they cost about 3x as much at those places. Conscious cooks do well at Stanley's.

Be aware that sometime the fruits or vegetables need to be consumed quickly. Doesn't always last as long in your fridge as the stuff from Jewel before getting past ripe.

CLOSED PERMANENTLY --So sad. Great prices and variety on fruits and vegetables. Most grocery stores don't sell ripe fruit -- it doesn't keep. Stanley's will sell lots of ripe fruit when they can get it, usually very cheap -- some of it you may have to throw away. Excellent for the big party tomorrow or to freeze or process.

Amazing value! Some of the best prices in the city for fresh fruits and veggies. Of course, the produce might not be of the same quality as the produce at much more expensive stores, and it may be nearer to the end of it's fresh life so you need to eat it quickly after purchase, but for the prices it's worth the tradeoffs. Since it's smaller than a massive grocery store, it's easy to get in and out quickly.

For the customer or family trying to buy fruits and vegetables at a reasonable or low price, the store has virtually no competition. There is a great range of seasonably-available fruits and vegetables, throughout the year. Prices are competitive with any other grower, producer, or retailer, in the city. Occasionally, especially during the summer, some fruits and vegetables will be put on deep-discount sale before they ripen to a state of being rotten. Of course, to find those sales, you have to have good timing! There is ample parking in the lot, though some of the customers can be a bit reckless in they're driving. Friendly staff who are always willing to help you find what you need.

Cheap and good quality. The only issue is stuff here tends to have a shorter shelf life than at the grocery store so you can't stock up. All that means is more frequent visits.

Stanley's is my favorite place to buy produce. The prices are much better than at any of the chain stores, and the produce is also much fresher than you can get at Jewel Osco. They have a very good selection of all the standard fruits and veggies that you need for a well-stocked kitchen. If you drive, they also have a good-sized parking lot. The only downside is that if you're looking for a more unusual fruit or vegetable, they probably don't carry it.

Best produce prices in the city! This is where I get my produce, when I have time to make the drive. The sales (and there's usually a few things on sale every day) mean that I can actually afford to eat fresh fruit and vegetables. The quality on some of the longer storing things is sometimes not ideal but there's always plenty of each item to choose from. The parking lot can get a little bit hectic, so try to not go during peak hours.

They have great product, they live up to the hype. They also have a good selection of prepared foods daily, and make for a good stop since they're right there at North Ave and elston. Parking is usually easy for cars, and hopping off and back on the bike lane is super easy if you need to make a quick stop. Staff has always been friendly and courteous. The layout of the store is also very intuitive

I can't believe the prices on produce here. There always seems to be something on sale for an unbelievable rate. Picked up red and yellow bell peppers for $0.09/lb not too long ago. Sure, some of it is a little closer to going that comparable produce from a whole foods etc, but as long as you're using what you buy within a day or three. Large selection of organic veggies is a big plus. Also fresh smoothies made to order, and a deli. We'll keep coming back again and again.

This place is staple for produce, though this recommendation comes with a caution: some fresh items can go bad pretty quickly. In general, produce is a little cheaper here than in the major chains, with the odd crazy bargain mixed in. A recent special was a crate (8 punnets!) of strawberries for $1.49. Crazy. Stanley's also has a juice stall and a deli with cured meats and salamis, as well as a packaged foods section with dairy items, pasta and pasta sauces. There can be some fantastic deals found here, though the lifespan of the produce can be short, so choose wisely. Stanley's is the best.

This place is great if you are selective about what you are buying - Just make sure to inspect your item before buying it. The deli is not very consistent, meaning that I never exactly know what I am getting (for example, the first time I came here I received a monster of a sandwich, and the second time it looked more of a pre-weighed / wrapped sandwich. Nothing wrong with either - but the person making the food almost missed a key ingredient that I wouldn't have noticed had the other deli worker pointed it out to them.

This is my favorite place to get all my fruits and veggies!! Its a bit of a drive since I live by modway but it is so worth it. I love the smooth operator drinks, it makes me heart happy.

Stanley's has a produce selection at good and often times great prices. Their organic produce is often half what it would cost at Whole Foods and probably just a day past perfectly ripe. They also have a good selection of locally baked goods and a small dairy section as well. Like most grocery stores in Chicago, the weekends are packed but it is still is worth the trip.

I love this place! The parking is free and in the Lincoln Park area/near Goose Island that is a gem. They have been there for years and the deals. . . go for the sale items they have posted on the windows because you may pay full price or more for produce. Their deli has fresh, local meats that also may have lower prices than other local stores. A juice bar is included with deals and samples. My son can't get enough! Why the four stars? Weekends are just as crowded as the other stores with no parking available and be careful of how you enter and exit the parking lot or else. May be because many know about these great deals. Also, you can find cheaper flowers else where unless there is a deal.

An entire 10lb box of strawberries for $0.99?!? Yes, please! You cannot find better priced produce especially when things are in season. Many items you will need to use within a day or two of buying (or be willing to pick through your $0.99 10lb box of strawberries to throw away half of them), but well worth the price. Staples such as potatoes, peppers, onions, apples and greens are always fine. Sometimes they have rare varieties of veggies and fruits that you can justify trying because they are so cheap. Packaged foods are very pricey but very local. Great deli counter prices and variety. The recent renovations and layout changes are nice. Be ready to battle for parking if shopping during daytime weekend hours.

This is my place where I like to get most of my produce. The produce is either very fresh or if not they are awesomely clearance priced. Your pricing is very good and you can find organic vegetables here as well. Some of the best things about produce store is that they have the best and I mean the best priced salad bar at only $1. 49 per pound. They also have their own smoothie and juice bar awesomely Christ as well. On top of that they have one of the best delis in the area which sells Boar's Head's delis and cheese...Top of the line!

Very fresh fruit, although I recommend eating the fruit shortly after purchasing it, as they are sold towards the end of their shelf life. Get a salad from the salad bar -- it's extremely cheap (approximately $1-$2 for a container full!) and filling, with different types of vegetables and dressings.

Thanks to Stanley's, I ordered a juicer from Amazon. I'm in awe of the prices here! Their produce is the cheapest I've ever seen anywhere!! Apparently, they purchase from bigger stores like Whole Foods when these stores overbought and are not selling. This doesn't necessarily the quality is bad, just that these produce are not wanted at a quick rate elsewhere. Though, I would warn to only buy what you can eat within 3-4 days because it doesn't necessarily mean that everything is the freshest either. Some amazing finds that I was really excited about - .79 cent organic blueberries! Green beans .69 cents/lb! big ass bag of spring mix, $3.99! Red bell peppers .39 cents/lb!! I've seen bell peppers to be $1.99/lb at other stores which led me to avoid buying them but thanks to Stanley's, it's so affordable, I have nothing to avoid now.
