The owners are greedy, arrogant, and ignorant. They're also racist and refuse to hire a "colored" person. They don't care about the customers, they don't care about the employees, they only care about the money. I feel bad for the employees they work holidays and always look tied and irritated leading to poor customer service. They sell expired food, and always try to argue with people when they want a refund or an exchange. Over all the produce, meat, and deli are okay.

I called to speak to the manager and was told Tony was busy "doing something" waited for 7 min, he finally answered. I told him, that a month ago I bought cheese and it had mold, I just threw it out, decided not to do a thing. On Saturday, June 29th, I bought 2 half gallon coconut milk, after I got home I realized it was good til July 2nd, had my receipt and took them back. Today I bought a sliced prepackaged jicama, when I opened it, the jicama was slimy and smelled spoiled. So the owner told me it was my fault for not checking the best use date and if I had no receipt he can't give me my money back or exchange it. He also said that I must have nothing better to do since I'm wasting my time calling him. Really? I was not calling to get my money back, I thought he would appreciate knowing what's going on in his store. What surprises me, he prefered to lose a customer for $2.99 and all he got was this review. Will he read it? No. Will he care? No. Will this be useful for someone ... maybe and just maybe this was worth my time.

Keep Your Receipt!!! I was accused of stealing a 10 lbs. bag of Russet potatoes ($1.49). Now granted, there was a display of them located between the entrance and exits, and I did not elect to have the ones I PURCHASED be bagged, as they were already in a bag to begin with, but the Columbo style sting operation that was implemented to crack down on the alleged tater "theft" was overly excessive. I understand the need to cut down on theft is a huge concern for retailers, but only an OFFICER OF THE LAW can detain someone or legally suspend civil liberties where applicable. I understand HOW the store associate made a mistake by assuming I pilfered the potatoes as I left the store, but their demeanor was unacceptable even after I produced a receipt contrary to their allegation. Furhthermore, I received no apology for their mistake. My advice is to Berwyn Produce is to treat your customers like you want to be treated and while you're at it, check out a document called The Bill Of Rights. I am going to save all of my receipts from now on, however they will ALL be from other retailers. I will then mail them to you so you can see how much revenue you were willing to give up for a measly $1.49.

Too much expired dates on products, many of them is missing exp date, no prices or wrong prices...rude managers, dirty store, bad fruits and veggies, and the most important THE BLAME YOU FOR WRONG LISTED PRICE ON THE SHELF,YOU NEED TO FIND CORRECT PRICE. They don't care about customers like before few years. This is not even close to the store what was before few years. CHECK YOUR RECEIPT, you gonna be overcharged every time! The 0 star is correct, and even 0 is too much!

Used to be a nice place but after going back today it seems they got rid of all the latinos so now I spent like 5 minutes waiting just to order my meat. Many of the new workers are rude and slow. What a shame.. Update* they definitely replaced a lot of the workers from the butchers to the cashiers so now the lines are as slow as Walmart

honestly if their were an option for zero stars I would've give them zero stars. I've been coming to this store for as long as I can remember and I don't understand why they cut off their expiration dates for customers to buy and discover that their food is bad and then as they come back to complain you have to fight with them for maybe like $2.00 worth. It's not that we want our money back is that we demand good quality food that won't make us sick. I had just bought a container of chopped fruit and i grabbed it not thinking and when I got home I opened it and it gave out a gross smell I took one bite and it was rotten. I don't have time to go fight for $1.69. So if you have the opportunity check your food very carefully

This is my go-to place in the neighborhood for fruits, veggies, and some groceries only they carry. Not Jewel, not Aldi, only Berwyn Fruit market carrys certain stuff. I just wish it wasn't such a tight squeeze in some of the aisles. I am also glad to see they finally fixed up their parking lot a bit.

Horrible services the Butchers there are completely rude and arrogant, plus the food there doesn't have expiration dates they either cover them or remove them so the customers don't know when its going to expire. the female employees are completely rude and just have the biggest attitude towards their customers when ever the customers need something, i wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, this place needs new employees and new butchers. I've purchased molded berries twice in 6 weeks. They refused to refund them. Today I handed multiple boxes of molded berries to an employee she could have cared less. She walked away so I placed the molded raspberries back in the case. Two employees followed me out hollering maam maam I walked back only to have her ask to look in my bag. Of course I didn't have them I put them back before I left because I'm not a thief. I should have made her call the police I was so angry it didn't cross my mind. No apology no excuse for being wrong nothing. I will never go back.

I used to love this store and was a loyal customer for many years. The last few visits were an absolute waste of money. The food I would buy would be spoiled by the next day. The worst was when I returned chicken that went bad two days before the expiration date. I had returned it the day after purchasing and the employee from the meat department told me it was my fault for not cooking it the day I bought it.

Sadly I use to love shopping here for my meats and Deli. But after yesterday's experience I will never buy meat from them again! The old polish man butcher basically yelled at me when I asked for different kind of meat ( he did not grab it, chop it up, or wrap it yet) I was mistaken on which one to get. He then showed me one wrapped up arrachera some lady ordered and left bc she didn't want it. I said what does that have to do with me! I didn't make you do anything with the meat yet so please stop lecturing me on someone else! I ordered my meat and asked for it a certain way! when i got home, some of the meat was the one he showed me of that lady's who left the meat there!! I didnt order it cut the way she did and thats my main problem. He added it to my order to get rid of it! That is not ok!!

***Roaches???*** I have been going to this market for years, even before they moved to their current location. The market used to be very clean but now it has really lost its high standard of cleanliness. There was a huge puddle of water in the dairy aisle without a caution sign over it. The beer cooler was filthy on the very bottom and under most of the plastic liners that separated the shelves from the beer and soda, there were what appeared to be roach droppings and old drink stains. The white-haired owner has an attitude and is less welcoming and doesn't care about his business. It is time for him to retire and leave the country. I am never going to this market again.

Far from Berwyn but I still drive that far just to get my meat, but today Friday May 1st. 2018, I went to buy 23 lb of Top Sirloin Steak(Aguayon) 6.99 lb, they gave me 13 lb with the rigth meat, BUT the rest... 10lb. They gave me a different meat with a lot of fat, which I saw the price and it was 4.99lb they sold it to me like the meat I ask and 6.99lb So Mad
