Expensive. Higher prices than other stores in Hawaii like Safeway. The store layout is confusing and the selection seemed limited. With that said it is right in the center of all the tourists like us and I can understand why they would capitalize on that. But what grinds my gears the most was the cashier somehow charged me an extra $36.00 for some cookies we did not even buy. I had to walk back to the store and I did easily get a refund. I would say this store is on par with a Whole foods. If I did not have the above experience I would say this place is awesome. They have great Poke and salad and hot bar. A nice selection of beer and wine. The produce was nice as well. The high price and low selection was with the more common items we were looking for like chicken breasts, pasta sauce and more. The location is easy to get to on foot or by bus or trolley. I would go again during my next visit but a $10 uber ride puts you at a Safeway a main-lander will be more familiar with.

Mixed Plate chicken and steak chicken was tender moist...ono!!! Steak now that's another story it's like Goodyear or Firestone where the rubber meets the road garlic shrimp very good got to have horseradish with everything service was excellent.

Great grocery store! We were staying equal distance between Foodlands and Whole Foods and this place wins. Slightly less selection but less expensive. Lots of sushi, poke, etc. and a sick beer/wine/spirits collection. Staff was crazy friendly. Nice work!

It's like a Whole Foods with the locals in mind. Many bentos and poke to choose from. Good for grocery shopping and if you just want to stop in to get a bite to eat. Don't forget to grab your mochi icecream on the way out.

Great place to buy poke bowls, other prepared foods and groceries. Due to its popularity and being across from the Shirokiya Village, parking can be difficult to find but it's worth the visit. Conveniently located across from Ala Moana beach park so it's a great place to pick up drinks and snacks before heading over to chill in the park or lay out on the beach.

This Foodland Farms Supermarket is 'too super.' What I mean to say is that it is a huge place that makes it impossible ~or close to impossible~ to find what one wants unless one is willing to walk like a maniac. Understandably, one could ask an employee; but then again, find one without waiting several minutes constantly turning your head right to left until you find one who knows where is located what one wants. This world if heavily populated by people who has nothing to do with their lives and ~therefore~ have tons of time and mountains of patience. I am not one of them. I admire the place, and how complete it is stocked; but it is not for me or people who has more to do in life than spending lots of time 'walking around,' socializing with half the population in Honolulu, and oceans of patience.

"The Bar" is located toward the back and you can get wine, beer, fine meats and cheeses to enjoy. You also can pick up food from inside the store and have them add it to your bar tab to enjoy while you drink.

Love this place. Came here 6-8 times this trip. Their poke bowls are excellent value. Go to the center of the store at the poke counter, select some poke and ask for it in a rice bowl. Very reasonably priced ($10-12) and quality is absolutely top notch. Tons of other typical supermarket stuff here, Starbucks and a couple restaurants. If you're near Waikiki, come here once. Parking on the structure is free of charge. Just park like 2-3min away from the store since it tends to be busy. Right across the way is a huge Japanese food court too. Must go. Pints of beer and glasses of sake for $3

Foodland Farms is a great upscale grocery store with an impressive selection of foods. Everything from ice cream mochi to fried chicken (gotta try the salt and vinegar wings) to pizza to sandwiches, Foodland Farms has got it. I love the salad bar and the hot bar, which usually features some good pasta and meat dishes. There's also of course their famous poke. It is some of the best poke on island, so that's another must-try. There's also a small food court area where you can sit and eat, which brings me to my main issue. It's an odd thing to complain about, but the metal chairs in the dining area make the worst screeching noises when moved across the stone flooring. It's annoying and disruptive when you're trying to eat. All it would take are some felt pads. Aside from that, some products are a bit overpriced here, and seemingly at random. I don't know why Fage Greek yogurt is $10. Seems steep. Love those salt and vinegar wings though!

Upscale supermarket (similar to Whole Foods) on the exterior ground level of the Ala Moana Center with a bar, a poke bar, and numerous cafeteria style restaurants in it. The poke was fantastic and at only cost $7 + tax for a bowl (with brown rice), it was better and less expensive than most other poke restaurants I've been to. I'll definitely be back.

My mother and I came because we wanted some poke bowls, they have some awesome poke selections here and the prices are quite reasonable. They also have a Bubble Drink counter here by the door and I was craving some good smoothies so I was going to grab one before we went to pay for everything else. Normally they have a register right here at the counter where you can pay for your food and beverage purchases before you go do your shopping, but when I went to order my drink at the counter I was told that the POS is down and I would have to order and pay for my drinks at the main cash registers. Not a big deal, so we took all of our things and went to stand in line. Once our other purchases were rang up, I told the lady cashier that I had wanted to order a bubble drink smoothie, and that's where it sort of went down hill... the cashier didn't seem to know how to even ring up the drink I wanted, she asked what size I wanted to order and looked for the code to ring me up in her little notebook by the register, but then she couldn't seem to find the right code for my purchase and had to call someone to ask. Also not a big deal, but problem was that apparently I was supposed to order my drink first before I went to pay for it, which is completely different from what I was told at the counter earlier. After a good 5-10 minutes of searching around and asking someone to help her over the phone, she still couldn't figure out how to ring me up for the Bubble Drink, at that point I didn't want it anymore and told her to just finish ringing us up for our food purchases so we can leave. I understand that sometimes POSs can break down but please make sure your staff knows what to do to ring up their customers when that happens, or maybe it was just that 1 incompetent cashier that couldn't figure out how to do it right, idk what happened, but hopefully the next time I visit it will be better.

Foodland is a local grocery store here in Oahu. They have a lot of stores almost everywhere here but this one is located right across the Japan walk village Shirokiya at Ala Moana Center. Most of the customers are tourists with mainly Japanese tourists so they displayed their goods and produce really nice and neat. The poke section is one of the great things about foodland, they have DELICIOUS poke! Surprisingly they also have good selections of hot and cold dishes similar to whole foods. You get whatever you want and they will weigh it for you. I always love to go to this location to get my veggies and poke.

Pretty awesome grocery store lots of fresh produce unlike some of the other branches that sometimes have old stuff. Very modern setup lots of foot traffic. One tip is to be sure to park in the food land parking lot as we found out the hard way that the cart wont make it across the parking lot (shirokiya side) as it has a security wheel that will lock up in the middle of the crosswalk. But otherwise this place is cool personal opinion is I like it better than whole foods especially for their local brands.

I absolutely love foodland its completely separate and unique from your usual supermarkets. This is where most locals go to get their groceries. Lots of locally grown greens, pineapples ect. In Oahu it's really difficult to find a place to charge a phone, however foodland has a great place to eat your already cooked food or maybe drink a cup of coffee. Most importantly they have several outlets to charge your phone or tablet super convenient. Foodland also delivers or they will do the shopping for you.....I absolutely recommend and love this place.

I was so happy to come here. Haven't been on the islands for 7 years. Missed this place. Looks sooo much nicer now. Had to get poke and it was delicious. Hopefully I'll be back next week. I only come for work. Never have I vacationed here. Bummer. But awesome place

In addition to be a full blown grocery store there are many different options of already prepared food such as sushi, poke bowls, a warm and cold food bar, ice cream, bakery, and the list goes on. Also there is a restaurant on site that prepares really good plate lunches of decent size.

Employees are friendly. ATM located inside of store as well. The store is always busy...good thing there are registers for 10 items or less.

We can't say enough about this store. Their hot and cold food bars are incredible!! Breakfast buffet is delicious and well stocked. The salad bar has a great variety of delicious ingredients. Their cold food bar was my favorite - the Okinawan potato and kale salad is incredible!!! There's a wine bar, an excellent selection of house-made poke, VERY generous handmade sandwiches, hand made bubble waffles and bubble tea, even handmade ice cream sandwiches!!! I wish all foodlands were as incredible and well stocked as this one.

The recommended replacement for the now closed Beretania store. The Ala Moana store is smaller, with less selection, and for a Sunday morning not as prepared as Beretania used to be or Market City was this morning. They honor the sale prices in the ads but for other regular items prices are higher. I guess it goes with the pricey mall rent that they have to pay for them somehow. At 8 am there was no poke or pork rinds ready and the salt and vinegar wings looked like they were soggy and leftover from the previous day. Left there and went to Market City and the seafood case was fully stocked with multiple varieties of poke, there were 3 flavors of pork rinds packaged and ready for purchase, and fresh salt and vinegar wings ready for purchase at 8:25 am when I walked into the Market City store. Parking at Ala Moana is typically bad. If you park in front of the store you will be unable to easily head back to the mauka side of the mall afterwards. If you park on makai side you must cross 4 lanes of traffic to get to the store. Because of the congestion on the street level I think it's easier to park on the mall level and walk down and then back then deal with the craziness down there.

We often notice shoppers sampling buffet and putting spoons from there mouth into open buffet. If they arent controlling hygene they shouldt offer buffet. We got stomach issues after nearly every time we purchesd food from thier buffet. Beware. Otherwise we like this grocery store very much.

This is one of my favorite markets. The wide selection and variety of foods is mind blowing. Love stopping at the wine bar in the afternoon or bakery in the morning. Bubble tea and waffles offer a fun treat for all ages. Bentos are delicious and popular. If I lived in urban Honolulu, I would be a frequent shopper for sure.
