REVIEWS OF Orange Shop IN Florida

Barbara Fackelman

Classic old Florida shop.

Guru Prasanna C S

Orange juice was top class.

Jaclyn Adler

Cute store (with restrooms!) and perfect stop as we traveled from Jacksonville to Tampa. Delicious fresh squeezed orange juice and lots of great gift items.

James Jennings

Clean and staff helpful wrong time of season

Christy Cobb

What a great iconic place to visit. Best orange juice!!

Eric Horgan

Always great for oranges , marmalade , the best plain old orange juice and other food-oriented 'things' to bring back as gifts for friends. It is one of the last convenient stops on the way north from the Ocala area. It is open regular hours though-not always convenient for travellers.

KD Hitchcock

It's ok. A bit pricey

Kha Nguyen

I read at least 4 billboards advertising this place, thinking it was something of a large operation which it may well be. But I didn't see any orange trees for sale :(

debbie stern

Very cute little store, nice staff.

gail neschen

This place has a wide variety of products and is interesting but I think I would have liked it better of its atmosphere was more kitschy local and less tourist trap.

Eric Spitale

Cool concept however the staff came off extremely cold. I wasn’t greeted and we were the only customers. I was ready to buy, had a few questions however the customer service skills were that of a fast food drive through. I’m not sure if the 2 women behind the counter were related but they shared the same trait of attitude.

Blanche Gnann

Very nice, but staff wasn't that friendly.

Karen Kinser

Good prices on citrus foods. They have it set up so you can sample and if you like that variety of fruit. Also we like their salad dressings and even order more over the phone when we run out. Been going here for years

Jason Wells

BEST ORANGE JUICE I'VE EVER HAD! They were closed when I stopped by on the way home after the 4th of July though. I was so upset!

Dale Cepull

A stopover on every trip we take to the Sunshine State. We get a bag of oranges for our stay, and a jug of the great juice for the road.

MELANIE GONZALEZ

Our yearly stop, love it!

Tracylynn Long

Very nice place. Helpful staff

Heather Elizabeth

Neat stop on our way to Clearwater. Good oranges & the best fresh squeezed orange juice! The one lady behind the counter failed customer service 101 but the others were pleasant. Worth the stop!

Maggi Hall

I was 3 and now 72. Been visiting it all these years. Massive live oaks and a single lane highway have disappeared though. Now double lane and no trees. They don't make the orange freezes or even give away a sample drink. It's the memories that take me back. Employees act like they hate their job.

Island Girl

Good selection of stuff. The women in there were very unfriendly.

Tyson Robertson

Super cute and we are happy to support the last remaining orange orchard still selling right to roadside tourists here in Citra. It is a little small but everything they had was great.

Carol Putt

We loved this shop! They still had Honeybells and we found other delicious products.

Toni Fanum

It was ok very cute store inside with stuff only gave it a 4 cause staff not very friendly maybe to busy

Troy Simmons

It was a nice shop to shop for oranges an grapefruits it been 30 years since last time we stop by

Bret Bradford

Nostalgic road side stop with great citrus themed goodies! A must do! Places like this are becoming rare!

Martina Smith

I was driving back from South Carolina and came upon this cute little shop. I stoped to purchased a pint of the fresh squeezed oj and loved it. You can really taste the freshness. They had other goodies (jams, nuts, candy jerky, packaged oranges, souvenirs). I will definitely return for more OJ.

Jayson Palmer

Some of the best Valencia oranges I have had.

Ryan Hoffman

If I'm ever driving by and it's "in season" (meaning they're open) I can't help but grab a jug of the best orange juice you'll ever taste.

Scott Griffin

Very fresh, very pleasant. We go out of our way to shop local, mom and pop stores. We just happened upon this little shop. Love it!

ROSE Weber

Excellent grapefruit bought there today

Marion Baker

I visited the shop back in February. I had a bad experience with the lady at the counter. I contacted the store by email and let them know how I was treated and that they needed to get with her on her additude. When I returned home to the Carolinas, they contacted me and apologized. They also sent me a gift box for the experience. I will return next year to get more fruit before I return back home. I as a business owner I know we can’t be everywhere all the time, but to do what you can to keep customers happy, is very important to make up for mistakes by those who work for you. I will return again!

Matthew Burns

They ain't kidding, oranges everywhere, and to a new englander a real treat.

Ed Pawlowski

After years of mail order I finally got to see the store. Best citrus available. Bought some orange candy and wish I bought more Had fresh squeezed oj this morning. Yummy

Laura Cotten

We love this shop! Their juice is always so sweet and delicious!

C J

The oranges and juice are excellent and fresh, but the selection is average at best and prices are tourist trap high.

Christen E

Saw this place on the way to St. Augustine. Stopped on the way home for some tangerines and oranges. Reasonable prices for the amount of fruit you get. Will go back for sure and the girls up front are super sweet

Allegra Miller

Best fresh squeezed OJ and grapefruit juice ever!

Brad Shiver

Cool place to stop. Like going back in time.

Wendy Dasilva

Great and unique products. Best orange juice that I have ever had.

Michael Potter

Stop each trip by. Very unique place

Tori Bodenhamer-Halligan

Love this place and we always make it a point to stop here on our way up North and on our way back home. The Orange Juice is the best I've ever ever had which is why I give them 5 stars...the customer service is always lacking but we don't stop there for that!

Nancy M Heilman

Good selection and reasonable price.

Joanne Koegel

Very high prices...

Joe Burnsed

Best orange juice ever!

Joe Smith

Very nice place will definitely stop in again.

Stephanie Cox

Several varieties of oranges and grapefruit available in different bag sizes. They have samples available so you can taste them before you decide. Also have fresh squeezed juices that were available for sample and were amazing! You can find many other local products and trinkets including local honey, alligator meat, sea shells and much more.

Sarah Lepoff

Lovely staff, excellent citrus!

Deborah Tyson

Oh is awesome

HyunJi Park

Closed for the season

Kaye Castle

True locally grown Florida citurs. I love supporting small farms.

Jack

Gotta pick up some citrus when in Citra, FL. We made a brief pit stop there on our way back north and picked up some grapefruit and oranges, both which turned out to be fresh and delicious. The workers were constantly filling up the shelves and piles on the porches as the product was flying off the shelf. As a result our cashier was a little worn and not on the high side of friendly but given the rush of customers, many might find themselves a little frazzled too. Stop there for some fresh fruit and you won't be disappointed.

Alex Pinnix

Cool souvenirs and delicious flavors. Definitely worth the stop!

Gloria Dunford

Helpful staff. Clean store not fill of junky touristy stuff.

Bob Ciminel

Fresh Florida oranges and other citrus fruit at reasonable prices. Great service. Try the homemade orange marmalade!

Ashley Lauren

My husband and I saw this shop on out way to clearwater and wanted to stop but it was closed. On the way back home, we were excited to finally get to stop. We arrived at 4pm and the doors were locked (sign says it closes at 5pm) . There were people standing by the door knocking (they could see a woman inside ) she shut off the lights and ignored the customers. Very disappointed !!

sayhi2kimberly Kelly

I just received a large box of honey bells and I was shocked at how bitter they were. Not edible! Sour I could have lived with, but bitter they had to be pitched. Very disappointing. I would skip

Greg Creswell

Great place to get oranges...

Keith Bowen

The best orange juice ever! The honey and jellies are awsome, l should have bought more. It is well worth the drive to come here.

Cathy Miller

CLOSED FOR THE SEASON - you need to update your website! So disappointed - we just drove 100 miles out of the way to stop here and pick up some florida citrus and jam for some friends on the way home. What a waste - please update your site for the benefit of others. We will not be back.

Raj Harnal

Small store but had all the items we needed - orange marmalade, fresh orange juice, navel oranges. They also carry a variety of oranges and grapefruit as well as other marmalade flavors. Friendly and helpful staff.

Harold MacDonald

Typical tourist items for sale.

Jerry Burnett

It was a very nice place. Just not enough stuff. Very clean.

Teresa

The Sweetest Blended OJ! Love this place. Update: Prices for Tourists passing by. I won't pay their prices

Randy Rowland

Great oranges and a cool road side stand with candy, jams, honey, snacks and drinks. The Honey Bell oranges are delicious and great for juicing.

Danny West

This place is crooked if you order online they don't always send what you order. They save their best for the in store customers. They send What ever they want to online in hope that you wont do anything thing. An when you contact them they lie to you like there going to fix things and they do nothing. I've been waiting for a correction of their mess up since 12/26/2015. I was promised they would correct it by the CEO himself since that date and it hasn't happened yet! So be warned before you get burned!

Patsy Margraf

I ordered four shipments (four separate recipients) of JUMBO TRAY BONUS BOX ORANGES/TANGELO/RUBY RED before Christmas on 12/22/16. I didn't expect them to get there in time for Christmas, but I did expect them to arrive sometime close to the holiday season. None of the four recipients received them until the second week in January. All of them had some bad fruit that had spoiled. One of the recipient's fruit was mostly bad, so they called for a replacement. She was told that there was a shipping issue which is why the fruit had been delayed. A second replacement order was sent that she got yesterday. The fruit in the replacement box was also bad. Overall, very disappointed in this experience.

Ixxi Myri

Charming shop with friendly staff, yummy citrus fruit, jams, candy, juice and souvenirs. It's a fun place to visit!

Chris Wojtasik

Nice place to buy fresh picked Florida oranges.

Patty Hayes

***Updated to 3 stars from 1**** I actually got an email from the owner who said the fruit may have been overheated in transit and that someone would contact me to discuss. Brandi did indeed call me and said a lot of errors needed to be addressed from my experience. She offered to resend fruit but I asked her to just send a box of the coconut patties. She emailed me a confirmation of the order. I'd gone to the shop to select gifts for my friends - really wanted a nice looking package to arrive. The woman who handled my order didn't inform me that the fruit would be sent separately from the jam/coconut patties to California. It would have been nice to have known that important info - I might have made a different selection. My friends got boxes of jam and unboxed coconut patties and had no idea who they were from, my personalized note was not on the package. They knew I was in Florida and texted to ask me if it was from me. I called The Orange Shop and spoke with a manager named Pamela about where the fruit was. She said she'd look into it and call me back. She did apologize for the lack of accountability. I never heard back from her but my friends got boxes of fruit. Two rotten oranges in two of the boxes and dry, tasteless fruit. I could have packed up fruit from Publix and it would have been in better condition! Pretty bad service, communication and product. My advice, pick up from the store only - don't trust their mail order.

david hayes

Well stocked

Gary Parmelee

Best tasting orange juice I have ever had.

Diego Posada

Quality citrus, citrus related products and a nice selection of different honeys. Definitely a worthwhile stop.

Maria Williams

You people have ruined orange juice for me. Why did we stop here on a road trip?! It's just...the best orange juice I've ever had and I hate you for it. We are actually looking to go camping in that area to justify stopping at your shop to get juice. Like, we want to bring a cooler and buy too much and freeze it when we get home. It's that bad. I love/hate you.

Steven Smith

Its a tourist stop but with some history going back to 1930. Nice place to take a break, get some great oj and spend a few dollars.

thesunbreaker insta

Best freshiest orange juice ever

Jackie Juchnowski

Cute and fun little stop to make to get some delicious orange juice! Staff was friendly.

Jay Wgm

Great spot! We always make sure to stop here to grab oranges and other candies. They have a great selection of locally made items, and the staff is very helpful.

Jeff Hummel

An expensive place to stop for a souvenir. The prices oranges will make you want to squeeze your head.

Jeff Nicoll

A little pricey, but delicious

MD Whi

Bought the large 1/2 bushel bag of oranges for making fresh juice at home. There were several bad ones in the middle of the bag. These oranges are among the worst tasting oranges I've ever had. The samples were good but my purchase was not. Such a waste of money.

Evelyn Argueta

Too pricey

Celeste Luce

Always love stopping here when we take a ride to the country

Keith Samuels

Honey bell oranges were not all honeybell in the bag when I got home.

Cynthia Lewis

The Citrus is exponentially better than what you get in a grocery store

Ezra Anderson

Delicious juice and samples! My family's go-to stop leaving Florida! Design in need of some improvement. Great place! Loved it!

KLAUS BRANDL

We only stop by for the vast selection of the orange jam's....

Annie Barrett

Stopped here on our way back from Sarasota, there's easy roadside access so we could just stop and go and the orange juice was delicious!

jim alexander

Easy to get in and out good fruit and friendly people

Tonipaula Yakoski

Great time and we love the juice.

Andrew DeWolfe

This place is the real deal. Not some truck stop tourist trap. Amazing juice pressed the same day. Excellent bags of oranges. Good assortment of other snacks. This place is adorable.

Tree L. Bolling

Historical as all get out, old Florida charm. So many memories stirred by visiting here. They even allowed us to come in right at their closing time.

Dragon King44

Great little Diddy.

Steven McDaniel

Local orchard store. Nice staff, clean shop and goog prices on oranges. Delicious samples.

Alice Caldwell

This is the 4th trip in this store and there has never been anyone remotely pleasant working there. It appears to be a bother to take your money. On the other hand, the fruit is very good.

john maker

Great place for citrus while traveling

Mr. Cemeteryman

Great historical stop for citrus!

Becky Stemen

Fresh squeezed orange juice, coming up!

Joanne B

The store was nice they had a little bit of everything but some of the things l thought were high in price

Gidget Podkulski

Nice selection of unique treats, but definitely a tourist trap$$ fruit looks good

Stephanie Bazzy

Awful! I ordered from the online store and the oranges I received were overly ripe and moldy!!! What a waste of money!

Alicia Smith

Very friendly staff, able to try the product before buying, nice variety of jam, dressings, honey all made from oranges

Cindy Swank

Nice friendly. They have their own orange groves. We bought oranges and grapefruits to bring home

Janis Murphy

Love this place! Can't drive by with out stopping. Yum! The orange juice is the best!

Dan Waters

Very friendly folks. Will be back again soon.

Bart Carmichael

Best juice I have ever had. Anytime I am close, I make a point to stop.

Why Bother Tho

Great products, and a lot more than just oranges. Good deal.

L S

Traveling up US301 we wanted to pickup some oranges and saw the big billboards for the shop. Usually we avoid places that have billboards every half mile/1000ft as you get closer as it's usually just another over hyped tourist stop.....BUT, the Orange Shop is like stepping back in time, great little roadside market in the middle of nowhere. Old school all the way, authentic atmosphere, beautiful building, packing house, orange groves, and the coolest sign out front. You can't reproduce those things. The real deal. Oranges and grapefruits galore, samples inside, and all types of jams, honey, snacks made from oranges. Where else you gonna find this quality? A Grocery store? Not. Time for another orange, bye!

Raymer Jennifer

Very friendly. Great grapefruit. Need to stop each time we are in the area .

Tim Burke

Best Orange juice ever

Alice mccall

The elderly lady in the shop was very unfriendly, never smiled and seemed bothered that I asked a question. We purchase several things because I refused to let her spoil my day however i wont return. She doesnt have the only oranges in Florida.

Robert Pohl

Tooo rich for the poor retirees

Michael Todd

A small shop selling orange and other citrus fruits with a friendly and helpful staff. Juice, candy, jelly, marmalade and other citrus related items. The fresh orange selection varies depending on the season. Juice and various orange wedge samples are available. The only negative aspect are the prices. It is a specialty store so it should be expected though.

mircea morutan

It is a very nice place .We stopped by in our way to Ocala and we have a nice welcoming and we taste all the fruits that they have and the juice also .We want to make pictures with the orange trees and we could .So it is super ok.

Maurice McReynolds

Nice people. A real slice of Florida.

Marthalynne Allen

A local favorite! I finally got my copy of Cross Creek and key lime fudge!

mary graves

Nice to see and taste fresh fruit available.

Basil Puglisi

Horrible. Stay away.

Greg Long

The fruit was excellent, the store was clean, and the prices were reasonable on the produce. The knick knacks and collectibles were standard tourist prices which was to be expected.

Maire Brennan

No stars!!!! My package was supposed to be delivered YESTERDAY!!!!!! Are you kidding me?! How do you run a business like this?????? Dissapointed to say the least!

Mary Mabe

Love that store. I stop Everytime I'm passing through.

miles mcmillan

I bought what t was told was a 10# bag of tangerines. Turned out to be packing shed reject tiny oranges. One was even a navel. In a weeks time when I checked them, 7 had gone mushy spoiled. Put the rest in the ice chest to save them. Lastly, these backyard-tree tiny oranges were FULL of pits. Easily 30 or more. Don't waste your money here.

Wendell Craven

Very good quality and service. Been coming here for many years.

David Olitsky

Great little place in the wall. I remember this place when I first came to Florida 40 yrs ago...

Grossman

Pricier than the other citrus dealers; but, good customer service and sweet grapefruit.

Jefferson Cox

Unbelievably good orange juice, plus a great range of jellies and marmalades. Very friendly staff as well.

Russ G.

Great place to buy citrus products. Local grove to buy fresh picked fruit that we make a yearly trip to since Honey Bells only available once a year.

Phil

Nice, old Florida souvenir shop! Kinda expensive but is at least worth the stop. They had some items in there I have not seen in decades. Good fun.

Temp Account

I love this store. We seem to catch them when our favorite oranges are at the end of their season but we were able to get a quarter bushel. You can enjoy samples of the orange varieties in season a pick a favorite. There are varieties of orange jams jellies and marmalade provided by local suppliers as well as a variety of "southern" candies and sweets. If you are a tourist you won't be disappointed with their selection of souvenirs to choose from. For a small store, there's a lot to buy!

Amber Poland

Super nice store! Employees were friendly. Grapefruit and oranges we're buy one get one free! The grapefruit juice was also on sale and boy was it tasty! Be prepared to spend money though because you'll be hooked after some samples !

Emily D'Aquila

Nice staff and awesome different samples to try. Cheap too :)

2019 Ram 1500

Really cute place and everyone there was really nice!

Jorge Alonso

What's not to love ?

Terri Laughlin

The Temple oranges we got had several moldy ones in the bag.The tangerines seemed to be of better quality and tasted good.

Brittney Jones

I was disappointed when I arrived said it was opened but when we arrived the sign said closed for the season

Cathy Nelson

One of the few Old Florida orange stores left, it seems. Wonderful fruit and gifts.

Monique Bailey

The first sip immediately took me back to my childhood, picking oranges from my parents tree. Very friendly and helpful staff. I highly recommend a pit stop or a life changing detour.

Jeannie Kirby

Great citrus of all kinds! Worth the stop!

Douglas Jackson

Prices very good. Excellent fruit.

Elizabeth Panzullo

I have been ordering fruit from the Orange shop for 3 years now The quality of the fruit has been great, the shipping has been prompt and my parents whom I send it to say that everything I have sent has been absolutely delicious. Thank you The Orange Shop for helping to bring some Florida sunshine to my parents

Greg Wing

world's best orange juice you've ever tasted very friendly employee's

Jen S

Great stop to make to pick up some Florida goodies before heading in or out of town. In season oranges and grapefruits, novelty items, jams, honey and marmalades of different flavors, yummy confections like taffy, pecan logs, coconut patties and much more. Fairly large inside, parking is easy, staff is helpful. Oh yeah, and you can sample marmalades as well.Definitely worth the stop.

Ryan Worthington

The Orange Shop is one of those old Florida roadside attractions that has survived where most have folded up and are decaying on roadsides. Being a lover of Old Florida things I decided to stop by. If you have been to one in other areas of Florida they are somewhat similar, offering orange-related products juice, jams, jellies, fruit, etc. It is definitely a place to stop by and see, do not expect the most competitive prices, I normally pick up something that I do not find in my local grocery store. Definitely sample some of their orange juice.

Stephen and Rebecca Holtorf

The orange juice is the best. I didn't like that you could only buy oranges and grapefruit in bags. We ended up having to buy much more than we would normally be able to eat. I suppose I can say thank you for our increase in vitamin C.

Linda B Franklin

Have to stop here. Our car cannot drive past the orange shop.

Laura Ike

Fantastic Fresh OJ!! It will change your life...or at least your view on orange juice. The grapefruit juice is equally life altering. A great stop to begin or end the monotonous drive on the 301. Easy to find by all the signs posted! Nice little gift shop too. #floridaorangejuice #florida #travel #foodie #orangejuice #citrus #letsguide #localguides #googlemaps #grapefruit

Ronn McCarrick

Lots of fruit, honey, and jams

Eliza Partington

In business and run by the same family since 1936, this shop - "in an orange Grove" as the signs say - had all the tasty and cute orange stuff you could want, with an old-time vibe. Their OJ is amazing, too!!

Erica Santos

Been going to this place for 20 years. I always like to stop here when I am in the area.

Stephen Konigsberg

Love this place and great tasting navel oranges

Alexandria Jenkins

I came all the way from Ohio to come to this so called amazing orange shop with 10 different signs for it to be closed. Take down your signs if youre closed. False advertisement.

GC S

Best OJ I've ever had, and have stopped here for YEARS. Used to stop in since I was in my teens (about 12 years ago now) on our way to Sarasota from New York, and this was one of the highlights of the drive down. If you're driving to FL and taking 301, stop on in. Or just want to make an out of the way trip. It is THAT good.

Isabelle Coindre

Fantastic citrus

Kathy Martin

Expensive and grapefruit were not sweet .

Marian L

Awesome historical shop been here for years, loved visiting the orange shop, fresh squeezed orange juice. Free samples yummy

D

LOVED GOING TO THIS PLACE AS A KID. ORANGE JUICE IS SO FRESH!!!

Bonnie Harris

Great fruit. Enjoyed going there.

KW Posko

What a little treasure to find on the high way. The best OJ on the PLANET. Bar none, great pickles, jams, jellies and cool gift ideas
