My friends were visiting Miami on vacation. We went to Meridian Market because it was the closest grocery store to our location. The selection was pretty subpar. Also, upon arriving back to our hotel, we noticed that a lot of things including the drinks and boxed items were expired. The eggs didn't have an expiration date on them but when they were cooked, they had a grayish color to them. Do not go to this market. Just make the trek or take an Uber to the nearest Whole Foods.

I am unemployed and monday morning 01/11/2016 and in my way to Workforce to look for a job I decided to have a coffee in this place, and I met somebody who talk bad about the owner, a man from India, who I know him for a long time, remarks such as how greedy he is and how bad treat his employees. Then 3 more days I went to have again coffee I paid with $20, therefore my change was around $18.50 and the clerk handled me a change like I paid with a $5 bill, I couldn't believe it, she insisted that I only gave her $5, I complained with the owner, and he himself took me to a room where the cameras are located to check the video, it didn't mean anything, I was expecting to zoom the picture so I could see the bill, but only look like she put it in a row of $5, that easily could it be a mistake, the owner didn't do anything and got away with my $20. Now I know that this person is very dishonest, a thief, which I promise never to walk into this lousy place anymore.

However, the butcher's here manage to turn out - consistently - products that are broader in options and way cheaper in price than Publix. For example Chicken is prepped by the butcher's for steaks, fajitas, brochettes, breasts, whole, skin on family packs, gizzards, livers, feet, neck... It is a real butcher operation. Same for beef, pig/pork... Ground beef here is consistently half the price of Publix!! It is a simple and not fancy market. However it is full service and open until midnight - an important anchor in the South Beach lifestyle.
