Nobody speaks english here... u try to explain what u need to a person w very little to no english... they look at u like your speaking jibberish... then u get yelled at by the 1 person who speaks english bc your doing something the wrong way.... the reason you asked a worker to begin with... fir every 1 American there are 20 illegals here... spend your money elsewhere if you love your country... Alot of commenters comment how cheap in price the produce is... this is true..they keep prices cheap by ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS working for $4/hr and by not paying any insurance (workmans comp etc) hopefully ICE will be shutying down this black spot on Sewalls Point.

Great produce at great prices. What would normally cost me 40 to 50 dollars was only 17 from Barbours which was great. The only issue I see there is parking, but it's worth the slight struggle for the great prices and produce. I am sure you could also find a better time of day or day of the week where parking would be very easy.

The produce here is very high quality and very reasonably priced. We always get the navel oranges that are smaller and don't look very pretty. Sunkist won't buy them, but we will. They are always juicy, tasty and delicious. The romaine lettuce was so much better than the pre-packaged stuff you get at the supermarket. We picked up strawberries, blackberries and raspberries while we were here. Everything is great and the workers are friendly and helpful.

Parking is a nightmare. But the produce is worth the drive. Fresher than grocery stores, the dollar bags are awesome if you use them the same day. We're grill fanatics and toss a couple of dollar bags of mixed peppers and vegetables on the barbie and walla...10 grapefruits for a dollar, 2 huge watermelons for 5 bucks.. and the fresh herbs behind the counter, yum.

A jewel. A diamond in the rough. A needle in a haystack. Cash only. But don't worry. You won't have to spend a ton of money to get a ton of food. They have a wide variety of produce, fruits and vegetables available. I have always seen 4 or 5 people behind the long table where you check out. There are no cash registers. These talented people tally everything up in their head. And they're quick. And accurate. Always a handful of people replenishing the stock also. Parking could be a challenge. Not enough spaces sometimes.

The place to buy produce. You'll spend $20 and walk away with two or three sacks of good, healthy eating. I just discovered the fresh herbs..at $1 / bunch, you can really get a lot of goodness to add to salads or whatever. Tomatoes and green peppers always an excellent buy. I would give 5 stars except that on occasion...I get home to find a bad tomato, a bruised bunch of bananas, or (more frequently) BAD avacados. They will make it up to you, but it happens a lot...Still, get your fruit and veggies where the locals get theirs! Bring cash...no credit cards :)

Great produce market. Nice selection of all the basics and some extras. Parking can be a little tricky on the road so look on the north side for a space. If a container has too much for you they will split it. Nice local shop!

Have visited Barbours since first opened. I buy all of my produce from Harry & the gang exclusively. The produce is, in my experience, farm fresh and best yet is their pricing. Sometimes difficult to secure a parking place, I may wait across st for shoppers to exit..however rarely need to do so. And the staff??? Very educated in all areas of products. I will continue on shopping at Barbours for as long as they are in business. On a scale of 1-5 syars, I would rate the business as a 5+.

Good wares and fruit. The staff is friendly but could speak English a little bit better please. Also was surprised that they didn't know what a Susan B Anthony was when I pay for my fruits. The girl came running after my car cuz she thought I'd short changed her and I had to explain to her to look at it it says a dollar but she had to go check with other people first. The food it's great that the staff needs to be a little bit better trained.
