Food lion sucks . Today we're in line guy in front of us no groceries in his cart or on the Belt didn't notice that here to come find out he was up next is wife or girlfriend was in line 1 soon as his line was ready she grabbed all her stuff and put it on line 2 on the belt in line to so here we have two people in line one and one in Row 2 and whoever is available first then they jump over to line one or two. The girl at the register should not have accepted that she should have told her that she couldn't do that and put her stuff back in the cart and get back into line one that's what should have happened food lions didn't care. So as far as I'm concerned I'll never go in food line again.

I love Food Lion. Most of the staff is beyond nice, they go out of their way to say hello and offer help. I always bring my own bags and they never hesitate to assist me with bagging items even though the reusable bags are not easy to use!

Nice environment. Has most foods and ingredients used daily. No self checkout and not many registers open during peak times. Register staff rotates often so you occasionally have the one that doesn't want to be there and it shows, but I don't attribute it to the store.

Reasonably priced, convenient grocery store. The new white boy needs to pay more attention to bagging and checking out than trying to flirt with the pretty white girl at the next checkout lane. I had less than 12 items but took him forever to bag my items, didn't engage in conversation with me, and I had to remind him to scan my Food Lion card.

We love the store and the people, we've been shopping there since it opened. But the reason I gave 3 stars is because of the bad staff now. The cashiers steal! They hold the good produce for themselves price it for themselves to buy and put the rotten produce on shelves. Such a shame and it's a good store but could be better. They need the first black manager they had he was a great superb manager.

I love shopping at Food Lion. Great prices. But the customer service isn't that great.....particularly the female front end manager at the customer service desk. Never friendly. Always so rude. One time I went to the store and came back in to use the Coinstar. When I went up to her to cash it in she exploded on me and told me I had to do all my transactions at once. I guess you're not allowed in the store more than twice a day. They need to fire or retrain her!

It's not the Safeway I liked but it's my new go to. Fast human check out good product selections including organics. Used to shop at Food Lion hundreds of miles away this one is far superior to that experience. They have most everything I wanted considering the size....I was impressed. Took a point off perhaps unfairly due to store footprint and the resulting compromises on generic selections.

Love this grocery store. They have the best prices and great sales, plus the extra savings you can get by being a member is really helpful too. They always have whatever I need and its always at a great price. I love the app as well, it's really convenient being able to load coupons to my card and being able to have the card on the app in case I forget it at home or don't feel like having to look through a bunch of different ones trying to find it. The staff is pretty good too their nice and helpful. The only negative thing I'd have to say is their grapes aren't always the greatest, random I know, but more than once I've found some that aren't the best

It's a decent store. Their sales are pretty good. They have a limited selection on produce and pastas, and they're constantly cutting products without warning such as cereals, bars, at one point an entire kind of meat. I wish that I another food store within 10 minutes of my home that had a bigger selection of produce, cereals, applesauce, bread products, meats, and desserts, just to name a few.

Nasty, mean, and miserable employees. There are a select few that are kind and considerate...but for the most part they dont smile or even say hello before beginning to check you out in line. I'm always friendly anyway. I understand that we all have bad days but, c'mon...it's customer service. We dont need to be best friends, but kindness and a smile can do wonders. If you're unhappy with your job, I encourage you to find something that you can be proud of instead.

My wife and I love the food lion in Claymont. The prices on lunch meat are much lower then the acme near our house. Matter of fact most things are cheaper than acme.

I like the Food Lion store. This location is always well stocked, clean, and bright. I have never had to wait in line long at this location. I think the prices are comparable to other stores. My only suggestion is that they offer a wider range of Deli selections.

Customer service is very poor during checkout. No acknowledgement. The cashiers are mute the whole time and you have to try to figure out the balance yourself. Unless they are converstaing amongst themselves. If not they are playing in their dirty hair. Ugh. I've had to say something to management on more than one occasion. But there's no progress. Sad to say it's the nearest one to me. I've also witnessed management involved in horseplay with the employees. Probably why they are more focused on fun than work.

I have been going to this store alitte over a year now the staff changes alot but tonight was my worse experience I ever had the girl at customers services get nasty with me because they close a lane down right as I walk up to it then all that is open is express lane I got 7 items had too wait forever to get out of the store cause the guy in front of me had a 100 dollars worth of food in a express lane was lines to the ice cream freezers and workers with a bad attitudes

I honestly can't say enough good things about this place. In many instances, I've found a better selection and better quality produce/items than most stores around the area. People and employees are super friendly and helpful, and this place feels very relaxed, which I enjoy. If lines are long, they're usually pretty quick to open up more and get people out the door. All around great place! Can't beat living at Darley Green next door either. Edit: one last thing. The only improvement they could make is bringing back the meat counter. Their refrigerated selection is just fine, and if there were some USDA Prime selections that'd be amazing!

While the store is great to pick up last minute items, there's always long lines and limited selection. What is most bothersome is watch someone put their hands in the cherry bags, grabbing a handful and walking out of the store. Only GOD knows what the heck is on that guy's hands. Plus blantantly stealing!
