Really clean store, amazing options in prepared foods section

I started shopping at Shop Rite in Brookfield, which I love, so I assumed the new Danbury store would be great as well. I’ve been disappointed every time I’ve gone there. The quality of food is lacking, the customer service is mediocre, and the amount of produce is much less than the Brookfield store. I’ll still go here when I need to grab a couple things because they’re closer to my house but I’ll be going to Brookfield otherwise.

Store is always clean, produce is fresh, shelves well stocked, always enough registers open with baggers (both of which are friendly and quick), and the music is great to shop to! I always shop at Shop Rite Danbury...quality, value, cleanliness, and friendly and a great place to run into friends and family!

Most of the cashiers and baggers are teenagers who swear in front of their customers and eat Cheetos while bagging your groceries, and then don’t wipe their hands. All this on top of speaking to their co-workers in a foreign language, while helping customers. Not professional by any means.

The store is really spacious. Would be nice if they brought in more variety of items. My local shoprite is pretty small but they have the exact items. The reason for three stars isnt the store, it's the customers. From the ignorance in the parking lot to the rudeness in the aisles, including grouchy people barking at others and people completely blocking their very wide aisles, at a time when the store is not crowded, the shopping experience was very unpleasant. I will stick to my local stores instead, even though this one is on the way home from my job.

I went to shoprite in danbury , surprisingly our coupon on the news paper work, we got what we wanted. My daughter and I went back the other day it wasnt bad. I am impress with the the deli area, every kind of meat outside you can get ready meat to just go home and have it. I also admire there sea food, I love sea food. A lot of shrimps, we got things on sale, my daughter pick up cranbury grape juices as well. They a variety of everything, not bad, nice parking . Wheel chair access, children friendly. Elderly friendly. Not bad,

The deli department closes the sandwich making too early. I try to get a freshly made sandwich for work and they're closed. They also don't carry the same meats as other stores.

Prices are double at the Danbury ShopRite than the West Hartford Shop Rite! Blueberries go bad very quickly. I eat avocados and they have a avocados that have ripen (brown, soft) but they will still charge 2 for $5

The manager should be as exhausted as a mother of quads. He works magic and makes every single customer feel insanely special. I truly have no idea how Brian does it. The staff is crazy friendly. Their work- ethic is impeccable. They are light years ahead of the old store's system. Do not overlo0k.floral amd balloons. The women, the cashiets, butcher and regular grocery go above and beyond to make sure you save a lot of money

Huge super market. Wide selection. The deals are there, but a lot of things are priced a bit high. I say this based upon my shopping all stores in my area(Aldis, Wal-Mart, Stop and shop, Caraluzzis), and they could do more to lower these items. Huge parking, easy in and out.

On April 18th,2019 at approximately 7:00pm - 8pm I can't remember the exact time me and my wife went to deposit cans and bottles, we had ALOT of cans and we threw most of them in a cart to put in the bottle machines. We did not notice any of the signs saying we couldn't use carts. We go to Shop Rite almost every day and try not to make the employees that work there jobs more difficult we tend to be the opposite of "the lazy or inconsiderate" customers so if we would have seen the signs we would have NEVER used the cart. We finally start to put the cans and bottles in the machine and John ( I believe his name is John he is tall, chubby, and white) "the security" comes to us about the carts not asking politely about the carts he is trying to talk to me and my as if we were stupid you see we have a little history with John the security you see a few months ago me and my wife lost our keys to her mothers house so we would park our car REALLY far from the entrance and exist of Shop Rite , on the other side of the parking lot , we would park for no more then 2 hours while we waited for my wife's mother and John told us to leave we didn't get mad, we didn't argue we left but I noticed there was two men drinking beer on top of their pick up truck and I guess he was too scared to also tell them to leave. We then park at the McDonald's parking lot which is infront of the supermarket and "the security" did not get rid of them. So after that we stopped parking there and we got another set of keys to my mother-in-law's house but I guess the "security" was still upset about the time he told us to leave the parking lot because every single time we would go to Shop Rite he would follow us around and give us dirty looks and was acting like we were gonna steal even though we spent money at Shop Rite almost every day. Back to April 18th,2019 I could not take it anymore on top of asking us to leave the parking lot but letting people drink at the parking lot, on top of following us and treating us as suspicious customers he wants to yell at me and my wife about using carts after we said sorry we just did not notice the signs so I tell him I'm sick and tired of the way you treat us I am going to report you to the manager. A few minutes pass by and here he comes with a manager I do not know his name but he is balding / bald white male with glasses and he says you can not use the cart for the bottles and cans and I said ok we understand that but we spend alot of money in this store , we are practically here everyday and the manager cuts me off saying "Everyone spends money here" and I continue to say your employee follows me and my wife around he gives us dirty looks and treats us unfair but the manager did not want to hear it. Yes I know it's a supermarket everybody spends money there but we are very loyal customers if you look at the cameras going back months me and my wife go practically everyday and I have seen that manager go above and beyond for the littlest things for customers who look wealthy I have seen with my own two eyes that manager try his hardest to please customers (who looks more wealthy than me and my wife) with the most petty of complaints. Me and my wife might not be as rich or as wealthy as his (the manager) favorite customers but we are very loyal to Shop Rite and we have spent a lot of money in Shop Rite and we don't deserve to be harassed and discriminated against by the security and we don't deserve to be brushed off like our feelings do not matter, don't deserve to be looked down upon and don't deserve to be talked down to by the manager and at the end the manager left and while we were putting the cans and bottles in a bag to give the cart back John was trying to intimidate us by staring directly at us with dirty looks. I do not care that we do not dress fancy, I do not care that we do not spend thousands of dollars a week. When you go to a company every day and try to be a considerate customer and you try to spend as much money as you can so the company doesn't have to close down you deserve alot more RESPECT.!
