This Fruit Store is classified in the category of Grocery store.
Store is nice and clean with a really good selection of products.
Bring back the self checkouts!!! Speed of service is absolutely terrible. There is none. Constantly long lines. Customer service terrible. Management terrible. And it's too bad that ever since Albertsons closed we are forced to go to this terrible Safeway. Get your act together, you used to be good...
I used to shop at this Safeway all the time, hundreds of dollars a month, and loved it. But over the last 18 months I've gone in only when I had to do banking at USBank anyway, I don't even get to 1 rewards point anymore. I now shop at Frys on Carefree Hwy which is farther away but I can get in and out fast. At this Safeway I am nearly always waiting in a line of 3 to 5, normally 1/2 at least with big carts. The "express" lanes are only open sometimes and even when they are they aren't that fast. I can get in and out of Frys fast because they have kept up with technology. Safeway is so far behind and it's VERY frustrating. The self checkout they used to have made it nice but they took that out. Boooooo. Staff doesn't seem all that happy at Safeway either. Don't know if they are but that's what I perceive they project
Not bad, great for weekly groceries and for snacks, a Jumba Juice and Starbucks kiosk is always a great bonus as well
Nice, friendly employees, clean and well laid out departments.
I love the new look of Safeway and especially the organic produce section. Great store! I love it!
They are ridiculously expensive. Go to walmart same things $4-$8 cheaper.
Good place to shop for food
Clean restrooms
Sub-par store. Poor vegetable section (wilted, unripe, spoiled). Staff unattentive.
We've been going to this Safeway for years and have always liked it. They have just remodeled the entire store and what a difference. As part of the remodel they moved the lab and pharmacy to the front which is greatly appreciated. Beautiful store, clean, friendly staff and handicapped parking.
Always like it. The staff in the deli, the cheese, customer service and all are super.
Still a work in progress but I'm sure it will be fine when done. The new self checkout needs a lot of work
Nice shopping experiencel
Clean and great location
Remodeling continues when all finishes it would be great.
Great customer service
Quick and easy
Looking very nice good Job
Fantastic store. Very clean. Great selection. Always fresh.
Nice store
Self checkout help was a joke
Long wait in express line!
Store remodel is complete and looks great! Safeway has out done themselves with this new product, a decorative veggie tray! Just love it! This is the smaller one of two offered, and it looks great and very fresh!
Great store
Great location. Good manager. Customer service desk needs to be attended more often. Reluctancy to give rolls of quarters is an issue. Overall a good experience.
Nice clean quiet, good prices and service.
Very nice grocery store. People are always friendly, store is well-stocked and well-lit.
Very nice place to shop remodle is looking fantastic.
Llove in a while so I think that the prices are very fair also the arrangement of the barbecue sauce and spectacular
This seemed like a huge Safeway. It had everything we needed, plus more.
Super clean and friendly staff
Fresh fruits and vegetables. Clean and neat with friendly staff.
Produce was clean and organized. Connor was kind and helped me find what I was looking for.
Friendly, helpful, professional staff. Very clean store, fresh produce, quality meats.
Great place to meetup with our Black Mountain Neighbors & Community Block Watch MEMBERS of all kinds. Quick Registers ...still great Albertsons prices since the Public Merger with Safeway from here to Flagstaff!
Good store. Laid out well.
Always great! Always helpful! Very friendly staff. Normally not too busy. Unless it's during holidays. But, they hire extra staff during that time & if you go during normal hours (9-7) they always have plenty of staff & available to always open up extra lines. They restock often & usually do well with expiration & freshness. Ocassionally, I'll get an out of date item or expiring that day, so I try to pay attention to that. Deli is decent. Not great. But, decent. I had an incident one day where an older lady (employee) wouldn't help out a younger employee who was trying to help out & get my order expedited, since I was getting a couple items, she flat out refused & scoffed at the idea. She was really rude! It was embarrassing. The bakery is nice, has great bagels, doughnuts & cupcakes. Smaller than most, but so are most of the departments, since it's a true "neighborhood " grocery store. Often feels private. But, with that comes so many perks~ especially friendly, personal relationships with the employees. They definitely know your name & ask about the family. Starbucks is awesome, too! Seems like they're always open, too! Great wine department! There's a pharmacy & US Bank branch, a floral department & an awesome Nut Bar, where you can make any type of nut butter, fresh. Huge selection of dried fruits, too. Lastly, there's a great gas station where you can use your points for discounted gas. I just wish there was regular Diesel not Bio-Diesel. Overall, it's almost perfect for me. XO
I am doing the flooring there. i took over the project after the first crew. royally screwwed up. so its a lil messy rite now.. sry..
Lyly 'll hypocrisy 7f9hhbb0i
Has everything I need even ciggarettes lol
Great store always consistent. Good meat department
Summit location is the only location I shop at
Fast Track Place...But Watch What You Buy..Its always cheaper at Frys
As frequent shoppers at Safeway at the Summit, we were very disappointed in today's experience. This store has done a wonderful job in expanding it's organic produce department, so much so that we no longer go to Whole Foods to get our fresh stuff. Safeway has been able to meet that demand. We also go to this store for their 7 grain bread. My wife does not like any sweetener in her bread. No sugar, brown sugar, molasses, honey, nothing. She says it is no longer bread, but cake. It also has to be fresh, we always buy our bread fresh. Normally the day's fresh bread is not out by the time we shop, so we always ask Chris for a fresh loaf. He happily slices it and always asks if we need something else. Today, Chris was not in, the other person at the bake counter says that they only bake bread if they need it. In our opinion, bread is to be baked daily, if it goes to the next day, it gets marked down and is called day old bread. Today, they only had 2 day old bread. When we went to check out, there were long lines. I do not know who came up with the idea to remove the four self serve check out counters and replace with two "Express" counters, but it isn't working. Furthermore, I have only seen one of the "Express" counters manned at a time, never both. We ended up putting our shoppings back on the shelf and walked out. Safeway failed us on today's visit.
In my opinion, this is the nicest grocery store north of the 101. Spacious, well laid out, well staffed. The produce section is large and offers more organic fruits and veggies than surrounding Safeway markets. This location also has a sizeable deli and wine section. The only negative I have is the parking lot (and drivers in the parking area)- it is always chaotic.
They have a lot of liquor! Woot Woot!
Really nice clean store
Do not like the remodel!
I work here at night doing the interior remodel and the finished product will block your mind it's going to be awesome
Great store
The store as a place to shop is quite nice, but the more you dig in, the scarier it gets. Its evident that the management at this store is completely incompetent. Prices ring up wrong routinely, and while that is bad enough, how they handle it is worse. For example I bought an item clearly marked with a big sale sign by it. O.K. When they ring it up, its wrong. Non-sale price. So the checker comes over and I show her the sale sign. Nope, apparently that is not enough. The incompetent management doesn't just trust the checker to correct the price. Nope. They have to get a manager over to also check the price. All this while a line of other shoppers wait. So inconsiderate. And pricing errors are VERY VERY common in this store. Much more than any other store I have seen. In addition, check those expiration dates because the employees at this store certainly don't. They need to fire everyone in management at this store and start again.
Five stars for the only supermarket in the area that has my large shell Barilla Pasta!! Woohooo
US Bank inside and very understanding and kind staff.
Only there 2x, would go again
Lots of parking. Sometimes slow check out.
Great store
The sushi bar is exquisite! I highly recommend it.
Brand new store just opened. Can't wait to continue going
Safeway has a nice produce section and I like that they offer fresh sushi from a sushi chef. Wednesdays are the best day to shop, that's when they have great deals and lots of products on sale. I save a LOT by shopping on Wednesdays.
First time visiting since the store has been redone. Really like it.Trenton was my cashier. He was fabulous! Courteous, made sure the bags weren't too heavy. . .really great!
Always shorthanded, I often have to bag my own groceries. Their Deli is really dirty. I have spoken to the manager about this twice. Just can't shop there anymore.
Clean , easy to move around.
Nice remodel
Employees kinda really are snobbish but guess that's Scotsdale for ya
Someone without brains in the store decided to take out the self-checkout counters. Now there is maybe one "express" (SUCH a misnomer!) line in their place and the cashiers are slow at best. I ever so much prefer waiting behind 4 or 5 people with 15 items then checking out one by myself - yeah, right. What's with DOWNGRADING customer experience? Thanks - I'll stick with Fry's.
I can see that lots of positive improvements has been made at this store ,but as i was getting my deli meat today at the deli counter i have noticed that all the meat slicers were dirty and full of meat which was previously cut. I thought i was going to buy a cooked ham only ,not a ham full of other flavors. This is not the first time i have noticed that the meat slicers were in such a condition.
My fav grocery store! Clean and customer service, prices and sections are wonderful. LOVE their floral dept!
Used to shop here exclusively but just realized exactly how much money I was wasting shopping here versus Wal Mart. Really was never a fan of Wal Mart but for the amount of money I am saving on food, I am sucking it up and shopping where the best deals are. Also, they have recently remodeled and not only was that confusing to shop during since everything was scattered around, but now it's done and I don't like the new layout and still find it confusing.
If you love long lines and slow checkout, this is your store. Advice to management, staff up!
Organic produce especially the leafy greens are limp and soggy. Quit going there a year ago but tried it again today. Same soggy kale and greens!
Probably the worst grocery store I've shopped at - no more. Prices for many things are double what you pay at Walmart. If you want to overpay, go to the AJ's down the road. There, at least you receive quality more often than not. Here, you get a poor layout with the new remodel, and a snarky attitude from the rude employees when you ask where something is. What should have been remodeled is the employees. Customer service is miles better at other stores - even Walmart has employees who seem to care. Even if you try to avoid the awful employees by using the self checkout, you will fail. The computer system is intent on weighing everything you buy. God forbid you move something in a way the computer doesn't like, and it sets off a siren above the screen and prevents you from scanning anything else, requiring employee intervention and them telling you that you did it wrong. And don't forget the gas. It was once cheap, especially for the area. Now, it's anywhere from $.20 - $.50 more expensive PER GALLON than the Costco on Hayden Road. This station always seems to have pumps out of order, too. One would think, that for the price they charge, they would be able to maintain their equipment. Very sad.
The Best of the Best produce! Checking out is easy. They don't allow long-term lines to happen!
I hadn't been in this Safeway in a few years. I had forgotten how nicely organized the store is. What caught me off guard this trip was the meat, seafood and produce departments. The selection was terrific, the quality was great and the pricing was very competitive. I will be back soon
The store just went through a remodel and it it beautiful, the employees are polite, respectful and knowledgeable, I would recommend this store to everyone
For the most part Safeway is a great store their prices are good and the staff is very pleasant. It is close to the house and I use their gas reward program.
Good as always!
Yet again, long lines and no one here seems to care. Manager just walked by and didn't say anything or open another lane. Time to start going to Fry's
Clean bright store with helpful employees.
Went to buy meat from the butcher counter and a few other items. When I got there I placed several items in my cart and then went to the butcher counter. I waited 15 minutes and no one helped me. The butcher didn’t look at me. The workers passing wouldn’t stop to help me. I left thoroughly disgusted without buying anything. Called to let them know and some young kid acted like it was no big deal. Horrible customer service. Don’t go here.
Great grocery store.. easy in and out
Used to be 5 stars. Then they remodeled, now its 6 stars. Best and biggest Safeway in Scotty.
Crooks. Deceitful pricing and lousy staff.
Convenient!!
Super market that has some healthy food!
Great prices
Clean and organized
To me, Safeway is too pricey.
Love Safeway & they've got wonderful products. Even their own brand is great. Good produce, nice organics.
Not a fan of this Safeway. There always seems to be expired food on the shelves. For a Safeway in such an upscale area, the quality of the meat and produce is substandard. The new redesign flow makes very little sense. Why have bread on opposite sides of the store? Even the new renovations were done poorly and already coming apart. The brand new freezers don’t even seem to close on their own. As someone who worked at a Scottsdale Safeway when I was 16, I would be ashamed of working here. Go to the DC Ranch Safeway. It is much much better. Even the Pinnacle Peak Safeway is much better.
Wonderful!!
Don't buy any meat from this store!!!!!!!! 2nd time the chicken I buy smell discosting!!!!!!!!!!! The only thing they say: SORRY.....
This was my first time at the Safeway at the Summit. It is the nicest Safeway I've ever been to. Very spacious and clean. The meat and fish areas were spotless and there were no unpleasant odors. All of the selections in the Wing bar looked fresh as opposed to some I've seen elsewhere that are dried out. Overall, I was quite impressed.
Great store
Best Safeway I've been in.
Who ever designed the parking lot blew it,the tree planters are a waste of space. The Safeway carts suck,my feet are always hitting the rear wheels. And everyone is wondering around the store almost running into each other, don't know if the isles are to narrow or the carts are to wide. Price's seem to have gone up,maybe that's the new norm.
Got blood drawn no wait and then some amazing oranges and sushi for after fasting meal... Perfect easy and pleasant.
The store overall is decent but ive seen better. The attractive guy at starbux makes the experience. Hes amazing
Great variety!
To their credit, this Safeway has resumed self check out after a long and unnecessary absence of that convenience. Unfortunately, the machines are SO SLOW that one waits and waits between scanning items, thus making it inefficient and frustrating. Along with the eagle eye employee monitor who interferes without being asked it is almost worse than standing in the check out lines awaiting a paid cashier. Too bad. It has such potential for customer satisfaction but fails miserably. I am capable of efficient self checkout at a much faster pace than allowed. Where is the far North Scottsdale grocery competition?
If you can't get to whole foods...
Super clean store a little expensive but worth the shopping experience
I am so impressed with this store!
It's a SAFEWAY
This is the nicest Safeway. I'm glad to see they are remodeling.
Super nice, very clean, extremely well stocked with lots of fun things
Good place
Incredibly clean and they have every bottled drink you can imagine.
Always out of sale items shortly after sale starts. Manager needs to figure out his or her inventory ordering and control for sale items that are fast movers.
Clean and well stocked store.
The store looks great since it was renovated. Produce section carries more organic selections and nice pre-made meals are available.
