I drive a hour and a half each month to go to Luke. So I buy a lot I have been doing this since they closed Willie down. All the workers there are very nice and you have always had someone to help you. The Baggers are great and always very kind. I had been doing this for so many years I have even become friends with some of the workers. I look forward to going each month thanks to everyone :)

Very old building and the prices on most items are equal to a regular grocery store. It used to be you would get about 300 in groceries for about 100 those days are dead you get very little if any savings and considering you don't pay tax that's extra sad. Because your totally getting ripped off

Since the remodel, the commisary has become a very pleasant place to shop. It is clean and well stocked. Plus the extra bonus is that you can watch the F-16's and F-35's take off and land.

Ok for small commissary but prices are not what they used to be can buy a lot of items for less at Walmart I don't know what happened but I think they may be in financial trouble. Navy base San Diego prices are better which is a surprise, but they have a much bigger advantage do to volume.

Unfortunately I'm rating this visit unsatisfactory, I went to 15 item or less line because I was directed by store manager. But the cashier ( Freda ) wasn't pleased, after I told her I was directed by store manager, she ask who was it ? Very poor customer service , don't question the customers, just do your job. She needs some training in this area, she didn't ask for I.D in the beginning either, no greetings nor have a nice day after the sale was completed. I thank her afterwards, pretty sad and unfortunately it happen to me. Time was roughly around 11:30 am today 22 May 2018.

We go there every month to get a groceries and every time they have the stuff we need in the stuff we want everything is exactly where it's supposed to be and the workers there are super nice you can go walk over to the PX and go to Subway they have a lot of other food places while you're shopping and I can keep your stuff safe and it's a very secure environment here at the United States Air Force Base Luke we go here every month and it's great is Justin vice open environment if you're looking to go to a great commentary this is one of them but this place is only for military active people only disabled access

We come here about once per month. It takes us an hour to get here, which is why we come this infrequently. The commissary carries everything under the sun. We get all of our favorites here. We don't have to visit multiple stores to accommodate each family member's desired food and drink items. The prices are about the same as the big box stores. If you are a military member who is eligible to shop here, you already know this is an awesome benefit to us. If you are a future member this is one of the perks to be grateful for, and thank you for your future service.

Butcher quality and prices are the best in the West Valley. Prime cuts are cheaper than choice and select cuts at other stores. Good produce and good variety. Parking is terrible and prices on dry goods can be so expensive that we now rarely look at them.

A little small and doesn't have a vast selection. I once found a fruit fly in some meat there. They rectified it pretty quickly, but I used to be a food inspector for commissaries and that is highly unusual for a commissary.

The buyers need to take lessons from Wal-Mart buyers. They negotiate prices, instead of paying the asking price. I've spent 17 yrs in Asia and if the buyers understood what a benefit to wholesalers it is to be selected to supply US military, the commissary buyers might understand their power position. Wal-Mart sets the purchase price before they even approach wholesalers for items. I see no price benefit from commissary shopping, considering we are allegedly paying wholesale, yet many items are still more expensive than Wal-Mart; plus, they tack on a surcharge. One might as well just go to Wal-Mart, except the quality of their meats, produce, bakery, and sushi chef, can't even hold a candle to the commissary, except sushi chefs are non-existent in Wal-Mart, saving the Wal-Mart in Shenzhen, China, which has incredible custom foods at exceptionally reasonable prices; however, the prices at Luke AFB commissary for those categories are beyond commensurate with the quality. So, there is no savings for Luke's premier sections, really. In fact, one could end up paying considerably more. Buyers, appeal to wholesalers patriotism, at least. Drive down those prices for us.

Luke commissary has a relatively good supply of products. Their produce is usually good, but make sure to check it out first as they sometimes get junk shipments. However, their meats are spot on and great! Also, their sushi counter makes some amazing rolls and sashimi. The sushi chef is very polite and always willing to make a custom roll for you.

Not enough organic options. High focus on junk food and imported produce. Need to focus on local foods and produce and greener products and foods. Wish they had a better sandwich setup with vegetarian options or offered a salad bar for people trying to get a healthy lunch.

Not a large commissary, but not a small commissary. As with most military commissarys, go early or go late to avoid the crowd. Lots of retired shoppers. Checkers, baggers, employees are always helpful and friendly.

Best quality in meat that I have ever seen! Even better then places like Trader Joe's, and AJ's Fine Foods. The store staff have always been pleasant and helpful. It's clean and even though it's assumed because of the fine Meat products, all of the Produce seems to last allot longer then any other store I've shopped at. Over all, I have never had a bad experience shopping there. I do know if there is ever a problem, the staff will go out of their way to help you find a solution to your problem or question. All that said, smiles are given freely and often as you shop. Good job to all the folks who help keep it all running so smoothly.

I don't shop at commissary much anymore as you find an item at a decent price and then you quit stocking it. Most items can be purchased less expensively at a Fry's store with 0 to 3% GR tax vs. 5% at commissary. Just not much of a benefit in CONUS anymore. Neccessary OCONUS of course.

The price is right but they seem to remove all the healthy low carb options routinely. Soy slender soymilk, wasa light crackers where did you go? The customer service window is opaque window glass and they want a receipt when you return moldy food. Nice baggers and checkout personnel.

Luke commissary is on Luke Air Force Base and you need proper ID for entry to the base. The commissary is very comparable to off base grocery shopping ie., Bashas, Albertsons and Frys. The advantage is no tax.

The store no longer sells rice milk, in the cooler and a wonderful guy Mr. Chris found it for me. The double chocolate covered nuts container was empty on both sides and Mr. Chris went in the back and found those too. Another awesome guy, Mr. Thomas in the customer service department, I actually thought my rice milk wasn't bagged. I couldn't find it at home and he gave me another one. But later I found it, probably wasn't not having a wonderful day. I put it in a different cabinet but I did return to the store and pay for the additional carton of milk. It has always been a shopping pleasure from the meat department (Harold?) to the cashiers and the baggers.

I have enjoyed the Luke commissary for reasonable prices and selection. It is a bit of a trip. But when I go, I do a pantry stocking run and if you shop wisely, you can beat some of the local stores with ease. Meats, dry foods household items, OTC medications, and those specialty items, you would be hard pressed to find better deals.

Very disappointed..for a military commissary..the prices were no better than Walmart or any other store..and no bulk box sales on canned vegetables etc...just like any store in town..the military service members are not high income people..so sad to see them taken advantage of this way... and as retirees this should have been a place we could count on...military officials need to reevaluate their prices for military personnel that don't have the high income like most civilians

It really is just ok. It is small and there prices are comparable to off base places. So ok if your living on base or at the exchange already, but I would not make a special trip.
