This is an old and reputable fresh fruit and vegetable market. They feature local Alabama products. You can't go wrong shopping here. They are a little pricey, but with it.

I have been a faithful shopper at Murphree's since I moved to Cahaba Heights 2 years ago. Yesterday I was verbally assaulted by the owner. He wrongfully accused me of allowing my dog to poop on his property and not clean it up. He continued to brow beat me and tell me he had watched me every morning.... this is as I stand there with a bag pack full of supplies to clean up my dog's mess. I tried earnestly to defend myself. He was rude and mean. I will no longer shop at an establishment where the owner has called me a liar and disrespected me in such a manner. That is not what community is all about. It is sad that I will no longer be able to support a locally owned business but rather have to shop at big box stores. But at least at those places I will be treated with respect.

hard working, honest, wonderful folks. produce is always fresh, flowers and Christmas trees are top notch, great service, and never a "chain"atmosphere.

Great family owned business for over 40 years. Their fresh produce is second to none and their seasonal garden center has everything you need for flowers and gardening. The employees are always friendly and the family still operates it since day one.

I fell in love with this place immediately! I'm from another part of Alabama amd was just passing through, my husband and I were greeted promptly and the service was great. I would highly recommend this place if you want a classic southern environment, and products.
