Disappointed! I spent over $118.00 and forgot to bring my 16 lb Honeysuckle Turkey to the register to get Free! The Manager when asked would not give me the Turkey just 5 minutes after purchasing groceries, meeting the requirements and then told NO! VERY HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! How about I should have returned all of the groceries?

It's a tad on the pricier side compared to walmart but its more organic friendly and its fruit is better quality and i absolutely libe to get the flowers her over flower shop or anywhere else they make beautiful arrangements and they last longer.

They have the best selection in town but I never leave fully satisfied. I never can seem to get everything I want here. For instance, soy sauce was out of stock for nearly a month recently. Also, on more than one occasion I've seen managers (?) giving a pretty serious chewing out to workers in front of customers. Lines can be a real nightmare as well. They do a silly points/club thing that requires internet access and pre-shopping coupon-clipping to fully utilize. The produce section is pretty good but watch the prices! All that said, they do have the best selection in town and the seafood is really quite good for South Dakota. I prefer Lueder's but I find myself visiting this place at least once a month and I guess I'll be back again, though I don't look forward to it.

Always been quite fond of this particular grocery store. One the veggies are fresh, I love apples and oranges. The variety of breads and the Deli outstanding. Soup, sandwich, salad and dessert absolutely fantastic. Try the fried chicken, great recepie. All in all a very happy and satisfied individual I am. Service outstanding and informative. The atmosphere busy but extremely calm.

The lines are extremely long more times than not. One would think that the managers would take note of the "rush" that happens every weekday shortly after 3 o'clock and adjust the amount of checkout lines open for that specific time. Worst thing that was done was taking out the self checkouts.. needless to say... i try to avoid this store at all cost!

They carry a product for a short period of time and then stop carrying it. They must be receiving some kind of kickback for using plastic bags because I bring my own bags every single time and they still put some of my groceries in plastic bags. I can clearly say to the bagger, "Dude, do not put my groceries in one of your store bags or I'll poke you in the belly button" and they still whip out a plastic bag. What is that about?

Never enough checkers open. Shelves are stocked on Tues which makes it difficult to get around at times. And the shelves are pretty sparse of sale items on Tues. Staff friendly And helpful.

Deli staff needs a lot of work. Went in the other night with my mother and daughter to get some fried chicken and potato wedges . There was 4 employees working behind the deli and not a single soul waiting to be helped .We walked up and ordered meal deal where you get a bucket of chicken and a pound or two pounds ( I don't recall) of wedges. We asked for that deal and the man didn't know what we were talking about .He read the sign hanging above .we had said we would like the chicken strips instead of the fried chicken. He slowly got our food together sat it on the counter and walked away. I had planned to get some potota salad as well .However he walked away with not so much as a word and did not seem real interested in helping us .So I bought potato salad that was already made and pre packaged .We finished our shopping paid and went to the car .My mother decided to check our food .glad she did. The guy gave us a bucket of fried chicken and a bag of chicken strips. He clearly did not listen to us at all. My mom went back in to purchase the wedges cause we were pretty frustrated at this point she walked in talked to the same exact guy and he didn't even notice she was the same person he just helped .WON'T BE GOING BACK . too bad nobody wants to help the customers .

It's very crowded and everyone is running into each other. I thought it would be like the safeway in Omaha NE but I was wrong. And the tiny clerk lady running the self checkout was SO CUTE and sweet. But goodness their prices are so much more legitimate than Lynn's Dakota Mart. That place Robs this town and it's sad. Because people need to catch up and even trying to eat home meals cheap adds up a lot more than people know who don't live outside of this town

I really only go there for the sushi. Which is the best you can get in this area. That's made fresh everyday. And I'm pretty sure that the dude's actually Japanese, which makes a huge difference to me. I love the eel roll.

Normally we love going there to get foot long sandwiches. We bought 2 Italian sandwiches today. First bite I thought I had found a string in it. Pulled it out of the sandwich. It was the plastic wrapping from the pepperoni. No big deal. Whatever. A couple bites later, same thing. In all I found 3 pieces of plastic in this sandwich. Not cool.

Great sales! Deli and Bakery items are fresher than Walmart's. Most cashier lines are kept closed; congested when it gets busy. Aisles are narrow, making it hard to shop around other customers. Price tags on sale shelves aren't always updated; price may ring up differently than what you saw on price tag (only items that aren't on sale). Sometimes old sale tags are still posted making it look like, to the customer, that it is on the current weeks' sale. Most of the staff is rude. One day I asked if there were any watermelons left in their backroom. The young girl told me she'll be right back to look. I got tired of waiting after twenty minutes and asked the dairy worker. He said, "Let me get my manager". I waited another five minutes until an manager showed up. The manager looked at me and said that they were out of watermelons. I asked him what took so long to get that answer. He told me that the young girl clocked out around the time she left to, supposedly, help me. She never told any other co-workers that I needed help. The manager didn't even say sorry. He turned away walked the opposite direction from me. He could of said sorry and if I need anything else. Another time I bought cheese and It rang up a different price; I realized this after I paid. I swore it was in the right spot. So I took it to Customer Service to negotiate. The cashier supervisor looked at me and kept asking if I was sure I got this product in the right spot. Apparently she didn't believe me so she went to go look for this cheese while I was told to wait. Then I notice she asked a manager to help her look. Fifthteen minutes later they both came back to me; apparently I was right. She gave me the price difference and told me that it was the Dairy Managers' fault for not updating the price change. She also said, "I'll give this to you at this price this time today". Her expression told me she didn't want to fix the situation and told me to be more careful next time!

I don't even want to give them one star but I have to in order to leave a post my wife went there to fuel her car on 5/24/19 filled it up with 12 gallons of gas went home and car started acting up to it to dealer and they said that she had water in her tank like 10 gallons of water she contacted Safeway along with the mechanic and told the manager who then tells my wife there's no way their gas is bad blah blah blah long story short we proved it they basically called her a liar they paid 400 plus dollars after hours of phone calls to every corporate person there is no apology no sorry ma'am nothing she's walking out of the car dealer and sees a woman who was fueling her car and low and behold she has the same problem now that's 2 people is Safeway gonna call her a liar to of course not now they got a problem and still no call from them saying they apologize nothing. Went by there today and all the pimps are taped off himmm I wonder why they must have sold all their water and are waiting for gas now.. Completely unprofessional and I will never buy their watered down fuel again and I hope whoever's ready this post wont either spread the word the proof was there and they still couldn't admit they were at fault BOYCOTT SAFEWAY SPEARFISH FUEL NOT WORTH A DAMAGED CAR

Went in today to get a few things for Nachos. Velveta Cheese was on the list. After searching for a few minutes I gave up and looked for a clerk to help me. They were all standing at one end of the store by the deli just chatting. I asked where the Velveta cheese was. He told me Aisle 17. The Velveta Cheese was next to frozen pizzas in the freezer aisle. I have concluded that this store was arranged by drunk corporate drones rolling dice.

A guy starts to worry about the local grocery store when there are empty shelves mid day. It's a nice enough store. Big, clean, good selection. But the empty shelves are disconcerting. We did notice the process are higher here than other places we visit, but that's every store in Spearfish. All that said, Safeway is out primary grocery store when in Spearfish.
